The Best Christmas Light Displays in Every State

"In the town of North Pole, located just 20 minutes from Fairbanks, going all out on Christmas decorations is a given. Stop by Santa Claus House where "it's Christmas every day" for photos with one of the world's largest Santa statues as well as the big man himself and his whole reindeer team. A tradition since 1952, Santa can be found at his workshop all year round, though he only works select days between January and September. Pick up some fudge, cookies, chocolates, and candies from the Sweet Shop, or to really impress friends and family back home, mail your letters, souvenirs, gifts, or holiday cards from here with a postmark from North Pole, Alaska." - Travel + Leisure Editors

9 Unusual Places to Experience Christmas Any Time of the Year

"When Nellie and Con Miller arrived in Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1949, they didn’t have anything with them except for their two children and $1.40. Con became a merchant and fur buyer in the area, but he would also put on an old red Santa suit and entertain the village children; he would do anything to carve out a living for himself in this new frontier and the kids couldn’t have been happier to see their first St. Nick. Only a few years later, the Millers had cobbled together enough money to built a trading post just outside of Fairbanks. They named it the North Pole, but when a young visitor recognized Con and asked if Santa was building a new house, they changed the name of the outpost to the Santa Claus House and decorated as they thought one of St. Nick’s home might look. The Santa Claus House received international recognition and, after newspapers and magazines all over the world wrote about the new trading post, letters from kids started to pour in. The Millers, for decades now, have been returning as many of those letters as they could, sending mail to boys and girls all over the world who think they’re corresponding with Santa Claus himself. Over the span of 60 years or so, the Millers sent more than two million personalized letters. The town of North Pole, Alaska, which has grown up around the Santa Claus House, has the slogan “Where the Spirit of Christmas Lives Year Round.” And the Santa Claus House is just one of the ways that spirit lives on. Visitors to the town will be greeted by not just it, but also a 42-foot-tall Fiberglas Santa Claus statue that stands on Richardson Highway. Other Christmas items decorate the town all year-round." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

This little spot is so fun. They have a soda bar where you can create your own sodas and they display a wide assortment of candies to tempt the inner child. My inner child wanted a piece of everything displayed, which would be ridiculous. The assortment is huge! Once my inner sugar monster was put in time-out, it received a praline and a grape sprite as its soda. The shop offered a great chance to walk off the sugar. Spacious and Christmas themed it offered many cute gifts some with pretty original sayings. I did snag a soft Alaska sweatshirt. The soft green was too hard to resist. They offer several local crafts as well. All in all a nice spot to enjoy.

Google
There really is a place called the north pole and it’s in Alaska. Like 30 minutes away from Fairbanks you can find your way at the Santa Claus house, a 365 day a year gift shop/Santa house where you can send letters to Santa at North Pole or even buy a piece of a deed of the north pole, you can’t miss it because the town has poles dressed in Candy Cane poles definitely worth a trip if you’re out here great place to see the northern lights Definitely come here to visit Santa! So much merchandise here and handmade desserts, Christmas items and more

The novelty of visiting Santa at North Pole, Alaska is worth the stop. The selection of Christmas ornaments is wonderful. There is also a nice selection of gifts made in Alaska, books, toys and plush animals. You can send a personalized letter from Santa, send a postcard postmarked from North Pole, have some hot cocoa and record yourself talking to Santa.

I was working in Fairbanks which is only about 20 minutes from the city of North Pole so I decided to make the trip in the afternoon. Much to my surprise, it was 39 degrees during my visit to the North Pole. Regardless of the weather, I was excited to go. Upon arriving at the main entrance to the Santa Claus House, I found the whole place very charming from the outside and took lots of pictures. I walked through the retail side of the house and was impressed with all the cool swag they had there. I ended up getting some hot chocolate, buying a sweatshirt for myself, an official elf bell Christmas ornament for our family tree, a couple of cool wooden post cards and having a special letter sent to my son, which was petty special to do. Then I went back outside to visit the reindeer, the giant statue of Santa and the huge North Pole in the front area. All in all, I was very happy to get a chance to visit the Santa Claus House because it truly is a once in a lifetime trip for me. I also found it fascinating to drive around the city and check out other cool places to visit. I hope you like all the photos I took.

Google
Beautiful selection of Christmas decoration and gifts. There is also a place with delicious chocolate cakes and truffels 😋 Right next door you find some reindeer. They also offer short tours where you can feed them.

I visited the Santa Claus House in North Pole, Alaska, and it was a holiday experience like no other. This festive destination is a must-visit for anyone looking to get into the holiday spirit. You can also get your photo taken with the big man himself and enjoy some quality time. It is a must see for the people visiting Fairbanks as it is within 30 mins. There are big statues outside the house to take pictures with.

Google
Very interesting place to stop and shop. Few local made items as can be expected. Good ice cream and fudge as well as plenty of Christmas items for sale. Help your holiday spirit all year long.

Google
The only thing missing was Santa. We spent hours at the Santa Claus house! There was so much to see and so many unique items to find. One of our favorite things was writing a few postcards to send to our family in different parts of the state. There's a cute stamp you can use that lets them know it was sent from the North Pole. From magnets to ornaments and home goods, there's something for everyone here. My husband and I had a blast picking out little gifts for our family members. Like every tourist spot, there were items that were overpriced, but we were able to find a few treasures. The service wasn't great, unfortunately. No one greeted us the whole time we were walking around and when we went to check out, the young lady at the cash register seemed bothered that we were there. I actually purchased a few official Santa letters and requested they be sent right away...we never received them. I was asked to fill out a form and have no idea what happened to it once I gave it back to the cashier. What a bummer! My nieces would've loved it. Can't have it all, I guess... I was a little sad Santa and Mrs. Claus weren't there when we stopped in. It would've been fun to snag a few photos. The reindeer were cute to see and happily munching away. We were lucky enough to visit on a snowy day; plus, everything in town is Christmas-themed. Even the street lights are shaped like candy canes and it added to the magic. We enjoyed ourselves overall. Definitely worth adding it to your list if you're in the area.

Yelp
The Santa Claus House may be a bit of a tourist trap, but it's absolutely worth a visit, especially if you have kids. Located in the charming town of North Pole, this place embodies Christmas spirit all year long! The shop is adorable, filled with a wide selection of ornaments, festive clothing, and even a sweet shop to satisfy your holiday cravings. You can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus for a fun photo op, while outside, you'll find real reindeer and a giant Santa statue complete with a sleigh--perfect for memorable photos. It's definitely a magical experience worth checking out!

Yelp
unfortunately on the day of my visit, Monday, Santa is no there. But the store has a huge selection of items. You will find Disney items, humorus items, and classic items all in one store. If you want custom items, some items are made in the store, and some will be shipped to you after it's done From the outsided you have the building and all the murals and a giant Santa statue. Due to the current rennovations of the Antler Acamedy there was nothing to see here. Fun for young and old!
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
A fun stop and let's face it- a must stop if you are near the North Pole. Complete with Santa meeting with patrons, gifts, ornaments and more. The place is charming!

Yelp
My family and I stopped here for some souvenir's and gifts for our friends/ family, overall a good experience! The store has a LARGE collection of tons of different nick-nacks and decor, we ended spending about an hour here! The staff was very friendly, and we even tried out the in-house fudge and coffee store! There we got the peanut butter coffee (a bit too thick for our taste however we were warned about that beforehand by the barista), a hot chocolate (lovely) and some of their fudge! Overall a good experience, only downside would be this store is pretty pricey! comment from my mom "for anyone who loves christmas this is an absolute must"

Yelp
North Pole is the "Home of Santa Claus!" Definitely a tourist destination, one of Alaska's commercial successes. The world-famous Santa Claus House is a year-round attraction and can't miss when visiting the North Pole. Outside is a huge decorated Christmas tree, the "World's Largest Santa," at 50' tall, 33-ft around the waist, and weighs over 900-lbs, and Santa's sleigh. Inside is an amazing collection and pieces of Christmas decorations, ornaments, collectibles, keepsakes, exclusive North Pole merchandise and made in Alaska gift items. I purchased a lot of bells so my luggage will be jingling all the way back to California. Towards the back behind the glass is Santa's elves workshop. Also, some of the children's letters to Santa were posted on a wall... worth reading, some are entertaining, some sad, and some went downright to the point and didn't mess around. LoL! Don't forget to take a photo with Mr and Mrs Claus. Finally, don't forget to visit with Santa's Reindeer Team before you leave. We came back on Friday for a reindeer feeding experience at the Antler Academy. Learned so much about reindeers. Review #3128

Yelp
Santa Claus House is located in North Pole, Alaska (no not to be confused with that other North Pole in Antarctica) on Saint Nicholas Drive. This large store sells all Christmas holiday items (snacks including hot chocolate, ice cream, fudge and candy canes too). You can also meet Santa here and take photos with him while you are here. This store is open year round so you can certainly enjoy Christmas in the summer, in the spring, basically whenever you want. I came here to the Santa Claus House with my husband on a rainy Sunday late morning, around 10:50 am. We waited in a short line to take photos with Santa and then walked around this very large store. I ended up purchasing a few moose antlers for our friends' dogs (not for our little girl dog because her teeth are a bit more sensitive and are not suitable for small dogs). Service at the register was friendly with the employee who helped us with our purchase. Although this is a tourist spot, we still enjoyed our visit and also liked seeing the reindeer and the giant Santa statue outside. The Santa Clause House is less than half an hour from Fairbanks and may be a good place to visit if you are looking for things to do (as there isn't as much to do in Fairbanks).

Yelp
Decided to visit this store while we were on a trip to Alaska. The store has wide variety of decorative stuff and clothing as well. The prices are a bit high especially for the quality of the product. Outside the place there is a huge statue of Santa clause and a Christmas tree so a good picture spot

Yelp
Visited the Santa Claus House while in the area visiting family. We liked it so much we went back 3 times. On our first day Santa and Mrs. Claus were inside to take photos with! They have lots of cute items to shop- souvenirs as well as local made products, Christmas decor, toys, etc. Inside there is a little bakery/cafe that sells lots of yummy fudge flavors, ice cream, flavored soda , soda floats and more. Definitely a must see when visiting North Pole!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing selection of every Christmas decor you could imagine. Visit Santa who was so kind and took time with every group! Highly recommend

Yelp
We just visited this place and our family friend was looking forward to taking pictures with Santa, but Mrs Klaus made it a horrible experience for their family photo. They were trying to arrange their daughter's clothing outside of the line and Mrs Klaus called them over and berated them for taking their jackets off so that their daughter's red cardigan would show. Our family friend was also hoping to use their beauty app for the photos and she forced them to revert to the normal camera. She then proceeded to boss them around with placing their personal items and made the overall experience very stressful. I was a bystander hearing all this and felt that were some racial aggression since our family friends aren't the most fluent in English. Take your money elsewhere!

Staci L.

Yelp
Cute place. I loved the mocha and fudge inside at the sweet tray shop. Santa clause was there, there was a display of where toys are made.. tons of ornaments, trees, Santa a, elves, clothes, trinkets etc. tons of places inside and out to take pictures and selfies. They have reindoor next door as well. We went to visit with them but they were unexpectly closed .

Yelp
Christmas year round!!! Such delight and joy visiting this place. It's so hard to refrain from purchasing everything in sight! Santa waved at us as we were pulling into the driveway. He was apparently taking his lunch break. Such a fun store...has a sweets shop connected too!
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
The absolute gold standard of tourist traps. Certainly worth a trip, even in July. And don't miss the Santa sculpture towering above it all, looking down on humanity with a disapproving look. Friendly people who, because we were vacationing, shipped our purchases for us. The package arrived at our home before we did.
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
we had no idea we were near north pole, Alaska, and saw the Santa house, so we stopped in. I got to see Santa's reindeer, and he went inside the shop and bought some souvenirs for our grandkids, the store was absolutely stunning with all its Christmas stuff. And there was a Santa in the corner and I went and sat on his lap, he made a really sweet video for my grandkids. They were pretty excited to get that video. I thought it was really cool, nice place. They had a 50 foot Santa, and a huge Christmas tree out front. If you brought your kiddos , they can send a letter to Santa.
google avatar

Craig T.

Yelp
Well this is pretty much what you would expect. Once you get into the city you are amazed at everything Xmas. This place was no different with lots to do and see.
google avatar

Angela C.

Yelp
If you're in Fairbanks, you HAVE to go to the North Pole and see the Santa Claus House. It's Christmas every day there! You can buy fun ornaments, and even letters from Santa that are mailed out in early December to the recipient of your choice. You can even meet the Mr. & Mrs. themselves for a free photo opportunity when they're not in the toy workshop. There's ice cream and coffee available, and the largest Santa statue on the front lawn. Next door is Antler Academy where Santa's reindeers reside and you can feed and pet them for a small fee. My son in his wheelchair couldn't go into the main pen, but was able to go in to the side yard and get a one on one meet and greet with Dasher. Fun fact - Did you know that reindeer don't have front teeth so they can't bite you? You have to feed them pellets by pouring it into their mouths! Super friendly staff and a super fun experience!
google avatar

Jeannette C.

Yelp
Santa Claus at the Santa Claus House is worth the trip from San Diego, California to the North Pole. Santa Claus enchanted young and old and spent time allowing for photos, videos, sweet conversations and is delightful and kind and thrilled everyone who we saw who joined him in his Santa Claus house. How fitting that the most amazing man/Santa Claus can be found at the North Pole in Alaska!!!! Santa's helpers at the Santa Claus House are also fabulous!
google avatar

Valerie G.

Yelp
Cute and large selection of gifts and toys. Not the cleanest or newest, but has a wide variety of Christmas items for you to take back home to friends and family.
google avatar

Benjamin C.

Yelp
Lovely visit to the Santa Claus House. Staff was awesome, and Santa even gave me a personalized recording for my niece! Bought a color changing cup and Santa Claus snow globe!
google avatar

Kseniya K.

Yelp
Visiting the Santa Claus House is the only entertaining thing you can do while in North Pole, since the North Pole is a simple neighborhood of houses, that will not stick in your memory because there is nothing to do there besides look at residential homes. The Santa Claus House is a giant store where you can purchase a variety of Christmas decorations and children's gifts. Even some Halloween items were still available a week after Halloween passed. Santa is off on Mondays and Tuesdays, so bring your kids to meet Santa Wednesday through Sunday. We visited on a Monday, and the store was fairly quiet. You can mail a letter/postcard domestically and internationally, to get the North Pole postage that will look cool for kids. A variety of pre-written letters from Santa are available for $9.99. Pretty funny to send a hilarious letter from Santa to naughty adults. Staff are helpful and non-intrusive, so you can browse the store for as long as you want. A café is available on premises. You can purchase fudge and hot/cold sweet beverages to put you in the mood of celebrating.
google avatar

Brandee L.

Yelp
If you are in the North Pole...you have to check out Santa's house! I mean..you are in the NORTH POLE and there's a SANTA HOUSE! Live out your childhood dreams! It is worth the visit. It's a cute souvenir shop and yes..Santa is there!! Yes there's reindeers next door!

Alicia E.

Yelp
We arrived not much after they opened and most the staff was busy getting everything ready for the day. The store is full of inexpensive kitschy Christmas items if that's what you're looking for with a mix of local Alaska souvenirs. It's off season but Santa was there and ready for any kids that wanted to see him and there was a cute little sweets shop inside too. We did walk over to see the reindeer and the pen looked to not have been cleaned recently with flipped food bowls, and lots of poop and there was one reindeer that looked to be injured. They are animals so perfectly clean is unreasonable but from a tourist standpoint I would close that part of the stop entirely if it's not going to be kept up with especially with a reindeer that looked injured and not doing well in with the rest.
google avatar

Tara R.

Yelp
This store appeared as if Christmas threw up everywhere. There were thousands and thousands of Christmas decor and souvenier items. You can have a letter sent to someone by Santa although we didn't have a reason to take advantage of that service during our visit. There are a few photo opportunities on the property including Santa's sleigh. There are reindeer to view and for a fee can go in and interact with them. We did not do this since we had gone on a reindeer tour elsewhere earlier in the day. The bathrooms were clean so this place makes a great stop.
google avatar

Mina R.

Yelp
Located in North Pole. Yes. That is correct. If you're coming from Fairbanks, it's about 15 minutes away. Its a giant store filled with many Christmas ornaments , pajamas , toys , etc. So if You love Christmas, you'll definitely love this place. And if you do visit. Be sure to go next door to the Antler Academy and pet real life reindeer!
google avatar

Chanel B.

Yelp
I made it my business to come here. Somewhere deep down inside we all want Santa to be real and to think we behave well all year Lol lol lol It was a good experience overall, expensive but everything in Alaska is expensive so I was not surprised. I got some good things to take back home. Definitely worth the trip'

Hailey V.

Yelp
This is literally just a big store with Alaska souvenirs and holiday items. Santa was very nice and friendly but other than that, not much to see or do unless you want to shop. I wouldn't make the trip from Fairbanks to North Pole again for this.
google avatar

Tom B.

Yelp
If your in Fairbanks make sure and make a trip to Santa Claus house to meet Mr and Mrs Claus plus you can see raindeer. The house has a gift shop plus a bakery it's worth the trip. A must see
google avatar

Stacy S.

Yelp
All the stars for the reindeer at the Antler Academy, and the delightful person who answered all of our reindeer questions. No stars for the actual Santa Claus House. While the exterior has enchanting decor, the interior is lacking. The mock Santa's Workshop is creative and well done... so that could be worth a visit for kids. I was looking forward to buying unique Santa Claus figurines, gifts and souvenirs. Sadly disappointed as most items were generic, made overseas or consisted of cheap materials. Unless you are a reindeer fan, skip this visit... in fact, you could skip the North Pole altogether as the candy cane stop lights are the only unique, quaint thing about the town.
google avatar

Kerry C.

Yelp
I visited here in early December. It was a typically tourist place, but was definitely worth a stop. I spent several hours there trying to get all our Christmas gift buying needs taken care of, and came away with a good mix of options. Ornaments are an obvious offering, but they also do gift packages for letters from Santa that were overpriced but cool given the season. I compared prices for some of the things that weren't local to Alaska (toys, mostly) and they definitely jack up the price from Amazon. They had some funny gifts that were a crazy price but I bought them just because I thought they were funny (I'm looking at you, moose poop 'fertilizer' + flower seed combo). I withheld a star because I wish the majority of things offered were from local Alaska artists, instead of just some of the things. Overall, a cool place to visit as long as you accept that you're in a tourist trap and will pay accordingly.
google avatar

Winny H.

Yelp
I had the best time sitting on Santa's lap today!!! There was no line talking to him and we chatted about how nice I've been all year and sometimes naughty ha ha ha . I also told him about my little monsters and how they try their hardest to be good all year but they are little kids so it's the best they can do. Santa is for real here!!! He has his reindeers next-door in their barn. He also had a nice red sleigh on display and he told me his elves were busy working in the toy workshop getting ready for Christmas. As of today it is only 58 days until Christmas so they are busy building and getting ready for the biggest day of the year. At this house that you can buy tons of Christmas ornaments, Alaska made keepsakes, clothing, plush animals, and souvenirs and jewelry. Most importantly you can purchase Santa Claus letters to your friends and family. Lots of Christmas feeling, joy, happiness, and candy canes all over. So excited to see real Santa. HO HO HO! What a jolly old man !
google avatar

Erin I.

Yelp
Y'all. It's cute. It's kitschy. It is July. It's still Christmas in North Pole, AK. There are so many ornaments, a little cafe that sells fudge and hot cocoa (what else), and an amazing Santa. We did a family pic and then he talked to both of my girls completely unhurried and SO authentic and genuine in what he was saying. Mrs. Clause did the pictures, with our camera no less. Seeing Santa and getting pics did NOT cost us money. That part deserves 5 stars alone, but the fact that Santa was just so authentic in his entire presence really deserves another star or two. Also; random thing, but the selection of different bells available was absolutely staggering. Our family reads the Polar Express on Christmas Eve, as the holiday for us is about the magic of the holiday, so bells are special for us. If you know; you know. There were SO many bells to choose from here. Also also, bathrooms were sparkling clean. 10/10, would go again.
google avatar

Sandra S.

Yelp
If you don't have much to do in downtown Fairbanks, come visit here because it is quite near. Highly recommend you to come try their fudge, get a souvenir or two & say hi to "santa". If you love Christmas and Santa, you will surely enjoy here! This shop is Christmas every 365 days. Next to the parking lot is the antler academy which has "santa's reindeer team". You can find Ruldoph & Dasher Dancer Prancer Vixen and the rest of the gang!
google avatar

Artur T.

Yelp
Amazing place with super nice and friendly staff. The place has great Christmas staff and prices aren't bad either. My wife loves Christmas so we spent couple hours there shopping and taking bunch of pictures of the place and with the reindeers.
google avatar

Mukul P.

Yelp
Just ok. This is something just to mark off of your list of things to do in Alaska. Its basically a gift/souvenir shop, honestly I have been to way better and vibrant Christmas stores elsewhere. Felt everything was overpriced.
google avatar

Greg D.

Yelp
Ms Claus always takes care of me. She chooses the smartest and fresh's elves for me to kick it with and party the night away with. She even has side igloos set up for me to get private jolly time in with the green elves of my preference. I even help make some presents and gifts for children of the other hemisphere.
google avatar

Hillary R.

Yelp
To no fault on the company, it wasn't what I expected. It's a very commercialized place with a lot of tourist items. My boyfriend and I did end up with an ornament to represent our first trip together and left with homemade fudge (I have yet to try it though). Santa wasn't in that day , so call ahead if you expect to see him. Went to see the Raindeer afterwards ... I thought Santa had 12? and being that we just came from a Raindeer Ranch, the Reindeer here does not seem as happy and active. That's just perspective though, maybe they enjoy cruising as they did. I won't discourage you from going, everything is worth a try but I probably wouldn't be back unless I came back with a different group who would like to check it out.
google avatar

Evelyn C.

Yelp
I can now say, I've been to the north pole and saw Santa! Haha. Such a cute little Santa Claus house that sells all sorts of Christmas goodies. I really had fun here. It was great to see all the cute little Christmas nicknacks, East some ice cream and fudge, wave at Santa and Mrs. Claus as well as see the reindeer! Rudolph wasn't there the day I went but he would be back! Anyways, Santa Claus house is a fun little experience to go and visit. There was much to really do at north pole Alaska, so this place was basically it. Everything is decently priced and it's great that there wasn't any sales tax. The day I went was customer appreciation weekend so we got an additional 20% off everything. Quick tip, if you decide to mail post cards, they sell stamps at the counter. Domestic and for international. There are mail boxes location by the entrance doors as well. Overall, fun little experience and it was great seeing the reindeer and Santa.
google avatar

Susan M.

Yelp
If you are in the market for all things Christmas, this is your Mecca. If you want to be bedazzled by the bling and sparkling lights of Christmas, this is your North Star. If you're on your way to a Santa slumber party, this is where dreams of matching pajamas for the whole family come true! From flavored fudges to fashion, from a dizzying array of holiday ornaments, to a place where the kids can sit on Santa's lap (in season) in a convincing Christmas-at-the-North-Pole setting, this is the place. You'll find gifts galore, including fun holiday socks, gorgeous blown glass balls, jewelry and novelty items. There are also setups where you could gather the family for an informal portrait for your next Christmas card. The only thing I didn't see were live reindeer, but maybe Donder and Blitzen and Rudolph stop by around Christmas time! In summary, this is one-stop-shopping for Christmas, and it's all just about a half hour drive from Fairbanks!
google avatar

Bhavika P.

Yelp
This place is so awesome. As soon as I entered in I felt like a child. I was in the awwww all the time surrounded with such beautiful Christmas decors, seeing Santa and toys and just everything inside as well as the reindeers outside. I bet it looks even prettier with ice sculptures during Christmas. Glad I stopped by for a quick stop visiting this place and then headed to Pagoda Restaurant nearby to grab some good Asian food.
google avatar

Bridgette G.

Yelp
Unless you have a child, you can really just stop by, get out of your vehicle, snap a few pics and bounce. This is really just a super lit christmas store with overpriced items. Santa shows up on a schedule so make sure you check online, and the bright side is your picture is free.
google avatar

Tim V.

Yelp
Fun little place that is is a 365 Christmas joy kind of place. We visited during the non-holiday time but still a fun festive vibe. Additionally they have a really cool workshop scene that most kids would just love!
google avatar

Courtney P.

Yelp
I have to admit, I had higher hopes for the Santa Claus house located in North Pole, Alaska. Call it the kid in me, but I pictured an actual house or some sort of cabin, not a large retail shop. With that being said, if you are looking to purchase anything Christmas, this is the place for you. Since we were on our honeymoon and we made the drive, my husband and I decided to buy a Christmas ornament to commemorate our first Christmas together as husband and wife. I was pleased to see that they sell products made from local artists. So we decided to purchase our ornament from a local artist as opposed to a mass-produced one. We were also hoping to purchase a set of stockings to hang above our fireplace in our first home, but their stocking selection was extremely limited. And the disappointing cherry on top was that Santa is only at his house for a few short hours on Saturdays and Sundays.

Yelp
If you're going to the "North Pole" you have to make a stop at the Santa Claus House. What would a family vacation be without places like this, filled with knick-knacks, ornaments and all things Christmas you never knew you needed to decorate your home & tree to bring in the holiday spirit. Every ornament you could imagine at your fingertips. There's a little fudge shop inside to satisfy your sweet tooth. If you buy a postcard and pay for a stamp they'll send it out for you post marked "North Pole". It's awesome to get up close and personal with Santa's reindeer and even your teen will sit in Santa's chair with enough bribery.

Yelp
This is a must see if you are heading out to Fairbanks! You're at the North Pole after all right? We arrived on Christmas Eve and got a chance to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Clause before he had to be on his way to deliver toys to the kids all over the world!

Yelp
What a treat! This roadside gem is about 20 minutes from Fairbanks and boasts a stable of reindeer, a giant Santa, and a chance to meet Santa and Mrs Claus - all for free! A wide variety of handmade trinkets, unique souvenirs and even cheap post cards have something for every budget. The people are friendly and it's worth the trip. A great time!

Yelp
Definitely one of the chill tourist attractions worth checking out. You can lounge around, get photos with Santa, see reindeers for free via a fence and get some nice memorabilia. The fudge there is though overly sweet.

Yelp
Great place. Loved the shopping and meeting Santa and Mrs. clause. Santa was great about recording messages to send to our family.

Yelp
This place is just Christmas galore. If you are a big Xmas lover, this it it. Toys, figurines, decorations, lights, Xmas just literally threw up in here. Went during month of Oct and Santa only worked during the wknds. We went on a wk day so didn't get to meet him. Next door is where they kept the reindeers. Stopped by to see them. They were going thru some shedding and peeling, which was normal seasonal thing. Looked itchy and painful. Even tho it was off season and closed, you still can catch them outside. Again, if xmas is your thing. This is it. But if not, skip the drive. I personally thought it wasn't worth it but I enjoyed the fact that I was in North Pole AK. That's all.

Yelp
Mecca for Christmas fanatics. Souvenir shop for all things Christmas. I thought it would be more magical than just a store of Christmas decorations. Good for a pitstop but not really a tourist attraction.
