Santa Maria Town Center

Like other Malls across the country, this Mall doesn't have everything it used to offer. However, there are still stores, food, and a HUGE modern Movie theater. This Mall still has some of the oldies but goodies though. My Favorite ❤️ being Hot Dog on a Stick. For those of you don't know...... 🌈😎Hot Dog on a Stick☀️🌊 What it is: A fast-food chain specializing in corn dogs and THE BEST fresh-squeezed lemonade. History: It started in Santa Monica, CA, in 1946 and became one of the first food stands in a mall, which led to its expansion into mall food courts across the nation. The Santa Maria Town Center Mall also sports an arcade, and some of my favorite shops like Spencers, Bath and Bodyworks. There is a Kevin Jewelers, Journeys, Victoria's secret, Rue21, Macy's, LensCrafters, Cotton:On + Cotton on Kids, Footlocker, a Whipper Snippers ( the BEST place to get a little kids hair cut), and much more. Lots of good food including a Red Robin and a Cowboy Cookie and Ice Cream shop. My last words are this. It's still fun to go to the Mall even if they're not what they used to be. I love taking my daughter at least once a year. It's fun, we get time together outside the house, and I get a better idea of what kinda of things she's interested in as she grows up. I get to be a kid with my kid.

As others have suggested the entire structure should be demolished along with the other half across Broadway. It hasn't been a functioning mall since the 80s. You can blame the lame Santa Maria City Council for having zero vision on a vibrant walkable downtown and failing to create a city with soul and character. Instead they've sold out to big box retail and allowed all the high density low income housing to be dumped on the north county.

Do not waste your money making reservations for Santa's pictures online. I spent more than 40 minutes in line waiting for our turn. The whole thing was poorly organized and i wouldnt recommend spending 10 extra dollars online just to end up having to wait.

It's been a nice time at the mall. It's clean and not crowded. And seems to be a good security presence. I've been here a few times since this review and I am happy to report every time has been a good experience.

This monstrosity, the shopping mall, should be demolished. Whoever built it destroyed the heart of historic Santa Maria. The entire Heritage Square/Main Street area needs to be redesigned to accommodate (and encourage) pedestrian (and bicycle) use. Create a plaza/zocalo out of the square, preserve the historic buildings that exist, and plant trees, restoring the avenue of trees that used to exist down the median of Main Street. Have alfresco dining, a fountain, a place to gather, mixed-income housing so it doesn't become a yuppie paradise or somewhere purely for tourist consumption. Encourage small local businesses and discourage big box stores. As it is, Santa Maria is a dystopian car-centric place that could be SO MUCH BETTER.

Cute mall I visited while charging at tesla supercharger. Had a breakfast burrito at fire grill 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 highly recommend! Clean restrooms and fun shops.

More signage for elevators are needed, lots of empty stores, and no way to get down levels in parking structure. It was really hard with a stroller. Not walking friendly!

Great little collection of shops to keep you busy on a rare rainy day. Today, on a weekday, not so crowded. You can shop in peace. My kids found plenty of places to shop from MiSou to Little Tokyo, Labubua were available. Plenty of space for walking . Plenty of comfort foods to snack on. Most of the stores are collectibles, but they also have plenty of name brands...Macy's, VS, etc. plenty of diversion, there's Sky Zone (jump) and an arcade. Plenty of stores coming as well.

If you happen to be in Santa Maria, come here to the arcade to kill some time and have some fun! I really enjoyed this arcade game called Great Escape 4D, it's really going to scare you, the effects are quite good and I actually screamed quite a bit during the game. Great for upcoming Halloween! $10 gets you 40 credits so a round of air hockey, dance dance revolution, street fighter and Great Escape, it was all worth it! EV charging also available at the lot.

I got to Trendsetter Fashions. They have all the awesome hats here. Customs, throwbacks, tons of fitted and snapback baseball/football/hockey hats ect. Super cool store with something for everyone. They also have several places to get the latest nike and jordan drops. They have batting cages and lots of fun stuff to do upstairs too. Reminds me of a mall from the 1990's. Lots of kids roaming around and families with strollers ect. Very retro feel inside. Easy parking, and never really super crowded. I've been maybe like 10-15 times for different reasons. But usually I'm there to go to trendsetters. Love that place!

The mall had a few stores but most of them were closed during a mid day friday, so the hours on stores may be odd. I would say all the service was very friendly but the customers in that mall were some of the rudest people Ive ran into.

I love going to the Santa Maria Town Center Mall! The movie theater is clean and inviting. Macy's is always stocked up with the items I love to shop for my kids. Macy's also always has a good sale going on. There is a good variety of specialty shops and now an arcade and other businesses offering sport related activities for kids. The batting cages are usually available and inexpensive. The perfume shop close to Macy's is a perfect place to go for excellent service and value in fragrances.

This is the most disgusting mall I've ever been to. First of all the second we walked into the mall it smelled like poop EVERYWHERE. We went into the macys bathroom and there was poop on the floor and the patrons and employees at the mall were not very welcoming and overall very rude. Literally go anywhere else it's so gross here.

we (my kids and I) were hoping to do some shopping.. but to our surprise not a lot of selection. The only stores that you might like that are open: PINK , Victoria Secret, Macy's, Cotton. Bunch of little unknown stores

It's always been the most depressing mall EVER. It's not clean, there's hardly any stores to even shop at. Awful awful awful

The mall closes earlier than indicated on the website not many selections anymore so it's not much fun anymore

Terrible mall. It's literally on life-support but is staying alive because our tax dollars are keeping it open. Our entire downtown experience absolutely sucks. They have been trying to include some better stores but the selections are still lacking probably because our demographics just can't support the numbers needed to open up the type of shops that people are requesting.

Completely NOT worth it. Very limited stores and very limited merchandise. The mall has potential because there is a lot of space available for new stores to open up. The most common main stream stores were footlocker, champs, VS/Pink, Cotton On, Journeys, and Macys. The stores are small though. They have a gymnasium for kids. My favorite store was a store up stairs that had a BUNCH of Loungefly. Honestly I finished walking around this mall in 15 minutes. Food court is very limited but there are options if you're hungry. They have Chinese, subway, hot dog on a stick, pizza and like 2 other spots I forgot what they where though. I'd never go to this mall again you're better off shopping online. They also have a huge movie theatre here. The smell of popcorn filled the mall. This place also needs better lighting it was a bit dark inside. Most employees we encountered were not very friendly.

There are a few shops not many it would be nice to have a larger variety of big name stores. There are still several vacant store fronts. There are a few jewelry stores, shoe stores, Cotton On, Cotton Kids, Macy's, Sears, Bath and Bodywork, Rock n Jump and a couple of independent clothing stores and businesses. The foodcourt has dq with orange julius, subway, corndog on a stick, pizza, Mexican, Italian, Red Robin and a Japanese restaurant. The movie theater is newer really nice actually.

The entire mall has gone through who knows how many owners in the last 10 years and I still don't find it improving. Now the mall looks dirty and lacking chairs and dirty tables. If it wasn't for the movies I wouldn't come in. Come on investors use ur experience and sign up chain stores this town is too far away to drive to other cities for better stores.

Word to the wise, if you are looking for under garments or fragrance this is the place. As for customer service it is horrible. Long waits at check out. They apparently have staff that do more wandering around than actually help a customer out. You have to chase someone down just to get help. It would help if there was more staff to take on initiative to move check out faster.

Came here on 2/11/2021 had to stand in line outside the for 24 minutes and I had to live without shopping and their was only one customer inside crazy. I went to Calvin Klein instead

I feel this mall is trying... and that means something to me. With Victoria Secret PINK opening up soon, I know I will be in there all the time. I already frequent Rock N Jump, which is a trampoline park for kids and teens. It's such a fun activity for the kids that is a great change of pace from the local parks. The movie theatre located in the mall is super nice. Always clean and always open (even on Christmas). Christmas time they have a beautiful tree display and various activities. I rarely see the mall dirty with the trash cans overflowing. I am always there and it never looks like that! The pictures of this must have been a large party that threw their food away all at once or something else explainable. That would also explain the chairs not being available- everyone took them to one table to sit together. I'm glad they got rid of the security at rolled around on those electric scooters. They were silly and literally kicked me and my kids out of the mall one day because we were taking pictures with the cute lollipop mural upstairs. He didn't ask us to stop, he didn't ask us to do it another time, he told us to leave the mall. So strange! He took his job way too seriously.

This place is an absolute eyesore in the central of town. I know I'm not alone, we all know that Santa Maria can do better. Someday I hope. In the meantime, there are great vendors inside the mall - people that make the place worth going to. Definitely try Deckers if you're hungry, or Gina's Piece of Cake for some excellent baked goods. There are some fairly decent options to buy clothes depending on your taste, but man do I wish there was a Nordstrom's here.

the victoria's secret here is probably the worse one i've been too. terrible options and even worse employees. idk if they need to be paid better or what, maybe knowledge would help

The town center mall right at the heart of Santa Maria is a vintage shopping center that tends to be on the slow side. That's not necessarily bad: it means parking is very easy, what makes it really convenient for me to hassle-free stop by for a workout at the Crunch gym or catch a movie at the AMC. They also have CottonOn and CottonOn kids, Bath and Body Works, a really good eyebrow bar, Chinese massage and relaxation, Macys, Sears and a pretty decent food court.

This mall needs better stores, that's why it's always so empty even the food court sucks

A bleak and dreadful experience because I leave more depressed than when I arrived. Many store fronts remain empty, and those that do rent out space are, with all due respect, economy class, save for a few mainstream stores the department stores are handicapped with equally dismal variety and selection. They are trying to make a renaissance by adding the outstanding movie theater, but unfortunately IMHO that's pretty much all that's going for it. The interior has had a nice makeover, but even then it still feels a bit claustrophobic. Once this area is gentrified (if someone is willing to do it) those efforts should hopefully spill over to the adjacent neighborhoods and improve the QoL surrounding the mall/Main St/N. Broadway neighborhood. BL: Not worth the extra time or distance to go out of the way to visit a shopping mall. If you're coming here, there's a singular and very specific reason why.

I grew up in area with a ton of malls that are huge. So, when I moved here I didn't expect it to be quite as impressive as over there , but not nearly as depressing as it was. The problem here is that there is not at all a lot of stores. The mall is only at 60% capacity and the stores that are there aren't the greatest. While the mall owners have stepped it up by introducing new stores and a trampoline park, I feel that there is still a lot of room for improvement. With that being said, there is a food court which is decent with a good variety of options. My recommendation would be to try Gina's Piece of Cake as it has very good deserts. The mall is quiet which is a plus seeing how chaotic the bigger malls can be. The mall is improving but still has a long way. It just isn't a place where anyone can do a ton of shopping. I hope it can further improve.

The Santa Maria Towne Center is a one star mall, but I am giving it an extra star because of its ample parking space and because of Central City Market. I came here this past weekend for dinner at Red Robin, ugh. I got here earlier than other members in my group so I walked around the mall trying to kill time. This was super empty on a Friday night, there were no customers and a lot of stores were closed down. There were barely any retail stores here.. and the ones that were here were swap meet quality stores. It's nice that there's at least a few regulars like Bath and Body Works or Claire's, but that's not much. At least it's easy to get to the Central City Market from outside of the store, you don't have to walk though parts with nothing there. Even the route to Red Robin was deserted, you wouldn't think there was anything at the end of that corner.

Now this is just getting sad. I've been going to the Santa Maria Town Center Mall since it was first built. Of course, that was during the heyday of indoor malls starting in the seventies and eighties. Granted, a lot of this mall's woes is just a matter of time passing and people preferring big box stores and online purchasing. However, the other day I decided to revisit my old hangout and walked away depressed. Approximately 65% to 70% of the stores are shuttered and hidden behind walls of advertising. A large section of open business is used as batting cages(!) The remaining stores had almost no customers...I jokingly asked my wife if there was an evacuation that we somehow missed. Store variety was sad. Walked through the entire thing in a half hour, including a ten minute stop at Spencer's. A final note: Santa Maria Town Center Mall is currently running an ad on TV heralding it's resurgence in an effort to attract businesses and shoppers. The ad shows a woman at the mall urging us to return. In the background, you see just a handful of shoppers walking by. I would suggest that they would have been better served filming the ad during a busier time, but I fear that might have pretty much been it.

A stop to stretch our legs on a trip from LA to Cambria and while it is a good place to walk around there is nothing here that really makes it a destination stop, the mall is about 50% empty, maybe the new theaters will help but probably not, there is an indoor soccer area, skate park and batting cages, along with stores that are obviously just barely making it, the Sears and Macy's are their anchor stores but realistically this mall should be boarded up and redeveloped into something else.

I own a store in the SMTC and was excited to see some positive reviews pop up recently...only to log back on and find them gone. I have now realized that things can be filtered, but don't quite understand how that occurs and who can do that. That being said, yes, the mall is going through a lot of changes, but they are positve ones. I think everyone should give the newly revamped mall a shot. Check out their new website, too, for all the latest events and sales! I really hope people appriciate the hard work that small business owners put in and realize that corp stores aren't always the best!

This has to be by far the worst malls I have ever been to. About 15% of the mall has empty lots and many of the stores can't afford a real sign on the front. I hardly recognized any of the names in the stores and it was clear that either they close this place down or look in to doing some serious renovation work.

I'm sorry, but I don't think I can acknowledge this place as a "mall". Even before the economy took a downturn in 2009, the selection was still pretty lacking. At least the city of Santa Maria is trying to bring in more variety to the Central Coast (unlike SLO) so I'll give them two gold stars for effort.

I have this fascination with dead malls, and this one is not quite as bad as it may seem. If you really want to see a dead mall, visit Vallco Fashion Park in Cupertino/San Jose area, or look up their Yelp reviews. That one is much worse, LOL. This one at least has some decent stores. The Santa Maria Town Center has some potential to be better, and I hope it does get better since there are no indoor malls anywhere in the central valley. I personally enjoy indoor malls rather than outlet/outdoor shopping because you can go there and shop comfortably when the weather is being extreme. Plus I have a two year old who can run around freely without having the risk of him running into the street or parking lot and getting hit by a car. Successful malls seem to have very high ceilings, and no 70's/80's wrought iron railings...they could start with that as improvements along with some a little more modernized décor.

Has a few good stores to shop from. Also has a theater, batting cage and gym. They should put more stores in there to make the shopping experience much better.

Well it's been a year since I wrote about this town mall, and I have to say they have really stepped it up. So many more shops are full, and so many more people are here. It's hustling and bustling with activity from the food court, to the movie theater, to the batting cages, to the trampolines, to the Sears, to the Macy's, and so many more stores in between, that this can be a real shopping endeavor. If you haven't been in a while I encourage you to go it's really worth it stop and oh my oh my do I love their covered parking. It works so good for cool and shade and even a place to take a nap in between all those shopping stops

V.SECRET. WORST&HORRIBLE customer service! I come from retail experience. Bought a bra less than a year decided to exchange/pay the difference for bras, manager from 2020/21 decided to try and embarrass me and say out loud that my "style" was really old and would not honor it. I suggested the companies policies she continue to bash me yelling at me loudly. I did not brush her, I decided to still purchase bras with my VS credit card and got declined, she made sure say out loud my card was declined. To not continue her rant I paid full on my own debit card due to her making me feel belittled specially me being Hispanic. The following week I exchanged and even purchased more clothing and the cashier mentioned to me when trying to slide my credit card that their system had been down for the past 2 weeks and that she was able to enter my card manually which the "manager" did not at all mentioned she CAN/WAS ABLE to do so. My credit card was successfully read when entered manually. As mentioned worst customer service in SM Victoria Secret. They do not even deserve one star.

Security staff at this mall is a little odd being that there literally are no people here. This mall is lonely and awkward and I don't know how the stores that are there can survive with the no foot traffic. Rando location for a mall in a super rando location city.

There was a decent amount of stores not too crowded but enough people entertainment for kids was enough restaurants nearby and inside pretty large parking was easy access for a shopping center that it isI would indoor mall it's good I would definitely do it again

If you want to explore a half empty/ closed shopping center: there you go! Just a handful of shops, only one restaurant and one bakery, a big Macy's and a cinema. Well nothing more to explore. Parking is good, I mean there are not many people coming here so no surprise. Wouldn't go there a second time.

Only thing good about this place is The cookery and The Mexican fast food restaurant in the food court

We were in the area again and decided to stop by in hopes that maybe it got better a year later... nope. It still is the saddest mall ever. However this time, it had a funky sewer smell in there. It was like no one could smell it, or didn't care! I think we're gonna skip this place if we're ever in the vicinity again. It really is a waste of time.

My review is better than most because it's from the perspective of someone with a preschooler to entertain. Other than a bit of food and drink in the small food court and tiny toys from a gumball-type machine, we've never bought anything here! But we go A LOT, because it's great for a small kid! You have room to walk around (the less crowded the better for that actually), you can touch the cars displayed inside, you can sit on or ride the coin-op kiddie rides - a selection on both floors! You can go up and down the escalators! And you can go to the pet store to look at the animals! Great mall from a parent's perspective! It does puzzle me how empty the place is - there are so many women's clothing stores and stores for kids that do well in malls (even my husband needs clothes). Why don't they want to move into this mall? There isn't another one for miles and miles either north or south. (Head scratcher.) I did notice three places here that are pretty unique: the kids' gym, the kids' haircutters, and the game shop. Good start there - can't we build from there? Malls have their place, and if this one fails the senior couple I see walking for exercise here every weekend won't have a safe place to go out of the sun! This mall - bad place for shopping. Good place for spending time with a small child.

I work here so I can say that I'm surprised how much the foot traffic has increased since in the last few years

Somehow, every time when I go to this mall, there is always some change inside the corridors. Most of the time, it's a store here and there that goes out of business. Sure, there's a Macy's, Gottschalks, and Sears to keep the place together on life support, but I also like to stroll around the little stores and restaurants in between. It always felt like, even with the new renovations under construction now, that it could close altogether for good. Aside from large swathes of empty spaces, it continues to lose some good stores...once there was a Steve and Barry's, a Champs, Mervyn's, Electronics Boutique, Waldenbooks and Sunglass Hut to name a few. They're all gone (or in the case of Waldenbooks, would be gone after Jan. 24, 2009), and even the local stores are disappearing. Even the typical Sbarro that's virtually in every American mall has disappeared from here. The food choices are quite limited and are mostly on sweets, hot dogs and other fast food. Unless this mall finds a way to attract other stores and decent food outlets (i.e. perhaps an Old Navy, A&F, GameStop, Cinnabon, etc.) and until Gottschalks moves back into its large space after renovation (assuming that company survives, too), this would be a mall I would probably pass up...unless I'm looking for actual bargains at Macy's (they sometimes have good deals at this location, depending on when you go), because this location used to be a Robinsons-May. But I really hope this mall could survive the current economic downturn long enough to redeem itself when I go there in the future.

Let me start by saying I've been to this mall and it's not impressive. My company Tea in Tiaras Entertainment brought in by their management company Spinoso Realty in New York They last minute booked a lot of entertainment for Christmas and I accommodated. They could not provide a proper sound system for my singing actresses as all they had was an old tape player for music accompaniment. This mall is going under. Then Andre of Spinoso met with me after the bookings to discuss a 2019 roll out of entertainment for the year. I gave them 20 ideas for the year one being my annual Tea with a Princess event. They were very interested in my ideas especially my tea party. After many meetings and proposals they never booked one thing for 2019. They claimed to have sponsors to pay for the services so they wouldn't have to pay or charge. This never happened they lied and had no sponsors. However they proceeded to steal my ideas and replicate them booking other talent at a cheaper rate. They could not come up with their own creative ideas nor support local businesses like mine that supported them and basically gave away ideas for free. They and their management company do not do good business and use local businesses for their own purposes and then discard them when they are finished. I do not recommend any vendors to do business with them and they hire cheap bad talent for their events. They do not care about local businesses as claimed in our meeting and are only out for their own agenda.

I see progress. I've been going to this mall since the 80's. The mall kinda died around 2007 ish. I went today and i was surprised to see some nice new places. There is a new/cool GameStore, a new Gym, and a new places to eat. I have faith that they will continue the good work.

Considering the mall has turned itself around during an economic down fall I must say that I think it is doing an amazing job at offering its local community a variety of new opportunities! The shopping selection has drastically improved, and although there are not a ton of your corporate and mass stores, I find it appealing as I prefer to support local and it adds more of a variety to my shopping selection. Aside from that, I appreciate the activities that seem to continue to show up, the gymnastic, the karate, the indoor soccer and so forth. As a mother of two I find that the mall is doing an amazing job at giving its local community the opportunity for more than just shopping. With that said I think this mall is taking a great new approach and not becoming like every other cookie cutter mall. Obviously the new undertaking has seen a need for the area and is doing whats possibly to fill it...at least it seems that way!

This place isn't much of a mall at all. Most of the stores are shut down. It's sad that this is the only mall in the central coast area.

The mall itself still sucks, but since they've put the RPX14 in it is a lot better. I find it kind of funny when ur walking in the mall and they have all those pictures on the walls saying "it's the place to be" but yet they haven't added any store yet that would imply "it is the place to be."

Better than most malls. Theu have a large adsprtment of stores especially in this economy its nice not to see a bunch of empty locations. They manage the mall well and have a lot of security guards and maintenance workers around. Very kept up and neat. The only thing that could improve is if the center as a whole had some music to help thr ambiance.

The stores here never really stay that long, they come and go. It's always pretty clean. It's nothing worth seeing. Yes there are a couple good stores and a movie theater. But your overall shopping experience likely won't last over 45 minutes. Like I said there's really nothing to see, It has a small food court and hardly any stores.

The mall is terrible, there is really nothing there, the only things worth visiting is Spencer's and Claire's, but even then you can get higher quality things for a better price else were. The people were few, the quality was low, and there is hardy any stores. It was everything I expected and less. Security is really weird too, my friend went to the bathroom and soon after words security wouldn't be stop following us. He even went as far as to follow us to our car. He first tried to say we did something illegal but when we asked him in confusion what we did that was so illegal he changed the subject and tried hitting on us. He was a complete creep twice our age. SO YOUNG GIRLS BE CAREFUL AND BRING YOUR MAN, unless you want some creepy security hitting on you.
