This place has the best of the best fresh smoked salmon. It comes right off the grill, hot and ready to eat. It’s a but pricey at $40/lb, but worth trying once for sure. The clam chowder is worth a try too!

On our way to the winery, we stopped by here for lunch. Because there is a fish market next to it, the seafood here feels particularly fresh. For someone who has lived on an island since childhood, the freshness requirements for seafood are very strict. If you can eat satisfying seafood, you will feel happy all day long.

We fell in love with their unique smoasted salmon 14 years ago and have been loyal customers ever since. It’s hard to find the consistency in quality of their product and service over that stretch of time in any business these days. The wild king salmon and oysters are two other favs at great prices. They are always good!

Wonderful seafood, always fresh, great quality live lobster, and dungeness crab. Large selection of delicious oysters, the scallop chowder is also amazing. Joe was super helpful thank you

Santa Rosa Seafood is a gem. They have an amazing selection of fresh seafood for every taste. Their oyster selection is amazing and fresh; the variety of fresh whole fish can satisfy any taste and budget, and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful.

Ryan is outstanding. The salmon is the best you ever eat. I highly recommend buying the cedar planks to cook it over coals. Their cioppino is outstanding delicious 😋.

We stopped here on a cross country road trip in a camper van before hitting the coast on a recommendation of some locals. We purchased the best crab cakes I truly have ever had and cooked them while watching the sunset over bodega bay. The salmon cakes and sardines were wonderful as well. As we were leaving the sweet cashier gave us a tub of seafood dip?salad? I’m not sure but it was heavenly with bread. When we’re in the area again we will be sure to stop!

Thanks to Santa Rosa Seafood my son's birthday wish was a success! He wanted a seafood boil and Santa Rosa Seafood had everything we needed! Everything was fresh and the staff was all so nice and welcoming. The store is clean and the seafood is well kept. Joe overheard what I was there for and jumped in with excellent customer service helping me get everything that I needed. Their prices are also great! Definitely will be going here for all of my seafood needs from now on! Oh and their smoked salmon was SO delicious!!

I've been here in the past but came back recently a few times to purchase clams. Their seafood is so fresh! No dead clams here! Little neck clams are $8.99/lb. Customer service is great, they package everything well and pack in bags of ice for your seafood. Recommend for all your seafood needs!

I love love love Santa Rosa Seafood at the weekly Marin Farmer's Market! Each and every product is the peak of perfection! Today I tried the ahi wasabi tuna salad and it was delish! These folks not only know seafood, they also provide delicious extras, including the seaweed salad. Verry fresh and tasty!

This place is fantastic! Everything we've bought there has been exceedingly fresh and there's a huge variety and the staff is always ready to help. I'm so glad we found it after being very disappointed by the fish at even the "high end" supermarkets around here. P.s. Their store-made lox is amazing.

I love this place! The crew is always so welcoming and the quality of all the seafood I get is off the hook. When I bring my kids, they let them respectfully interact with the live lobster, crayfish, and crab and support their culinary inquiries and answer all their questions. Over the weekend we bbq'd a whole fish. Joe helped my 7 year old decide which fish to purchase and treated him like a true chef. The fish came out delicious! We love getting the ready-made poke bowls, seaweed and seafood salads for a fresh, easy, delicious dinner. The smoked salmon melts in your mouth and is great on bagels and salads all week long. We will be regulars here for years to come. Highly recommend!

My cousin Sonlang and I pick up oysters from here almost every weekend. Its conveniently located on the corner of Petaluma Hill Rd & SR ave. The service is top tier, always greeted upon entry. Within minutes we are in and out. You can find just about any type of seafood here but our favorites has are smoked salmon, fresh poke and medium size oysters bag for $85!

I go and get my fish every week as long as I'm in the area..... so I guess I'm one of familiar customers. Again, the owner treated me with tuna for Mother's Day and made my day even better. Yes, sometimes they are crazy busy but all employees there are representing the business well. You will NOT be disappointed ever!! Always fresh seafood that you can enjoy the day you want.

This is my favorite little market to get all my FRESH sea foods! They always have tons of variety for oysters big and small and they never disappoint. And If you have never tried their smoked salmon you are missing out. It is AMAZING! It's a small place with tons to choose from and service is always fast even when they are busy. Best part is the people that work there are the best! So friendly and helpful and local!

I have been going to this family owned business for years , their incredible customer service has been a joy to experience. Their selection of sea food is phenomenal, I love their oyster selection and wild Alaskan salmon. The staff is knowledgeable, with detailed explanations of what they have for sale . What always brings me back when I am in the area is their joy and graciousness. They always seem to leave me with a sample of their flavorful smoked salmon and I am better for it . Thank you for the memories .

Love these guys! Having lived everywhere between the peninsula and SR at one time or another this place is by far the freshest and offers the widest variety. Don't be afraid to try something you haven't had before - the guys are very helpful in suggesting the best preparation and I've made some fun and delicious new discoveries!

Their smoked salmon is amazing. When we have out of town guests they always expect Santa Rosa smoked salmon will be served. Santa Rosa Seafood has a wide variety of fresh and tasty seafoods. Their service is awesome too.

Love getting some hamachi here by the lb, way cheaper than getting sashimi at a sushi restaurant.

I love this place I probably eat more fish than most people So it is nice to have a place with friendly and knowledgeable staff working there And not only a better selection and fresher than any store

We love the seafood here. It's so great to have a local market that offers fresh catch and can tell you exactly where it was sourced. Since we are pescatarian it's important to us. We've had a variety of fish from here though my boyfriend's favorite is salmon. It never tastes overly fishy and it doesn't have that weird farmed flavor. The pricing might be more than the fish on sale at the local market but the quality speaks for itself. I find it's worth it especially since I don't eat other meats.

Fresh! No seriously, fresh. Not a single piece looked tired. These guys care. IMHO, this is all you need from a fish market.

I was so excited to go to this local seafood shop, and all the hype I heard was accurate. We ordered a singleness cooked crab and a quart of clam chowder. Both were magnificent. I was happy to see they had fabulous options for future visits including sole and other treats!

Probably the best retail experience I've ever had. I knew little to nothing about seafood, and the person behind the counter walked me through everything. How to prep the fish, how to season the fish and even pairing with the fish. The quality of the product was some of the best seafood I've ever had in my life. I followed all the instructions that he laid out for me and it was perfect. He even threw in a couple of things for me to try. Seriously a top tier experience

I've never been to this particular seafood place before, but I was surprised by how many different assortment they had! They even had some fresh salmon cakes and crabcakes to buy!! We ended up getting some salmon cakes and some crabcakes with there a deal. When we got home we air fried the salmon cakes and crabcakes and they were perfectly done! They were so moist and had great flavor it was just like cutting into a piece of butter! Lol I will definitely be back for more of their delicious fish since I'm pescatarian!

Ok- I LOVE this place. But, the whole tipping thing is a turn off. I get it if the employees help you get a large order together. But when I pop in for a filet of halibut or 12 oysters- it feels super weird to tip 15% and ackward to decline it. I'll still go here, but man- I wish they didn't do this....

Always the freshest tastiest seafood ever! We absolutely love the smoke salmon. It is a staple in our house. We always get rave reviews from all our guests whenever we serve their Alaskan king salmon and/or their smoked salmon as an appetizer! Everyone's favorite!

The freshest seafood that i could see. Helpful service was a plus. They know their seafood. They offered us free samples of their smoked salmon which was delicious, it was a great selling point. Prices was a bit high and since i went there before the high gas prices I can imagine the prices are close to double. I'm speculating on this but maybe someone could give me an update. I bought salmon filets at $24.99 per lb., on sale price. There was little parking and was a bit difficult to get out due to oncoming traffic and just enough to get out.

Great little spot in Santa Rosa. Staff is super knowledgeable and the customer service is incredible. If it's your first time here DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT GETTING THE SMOKED SALMON! I don't have any pics to offer you this time around. We where on a road trip and my girls were hangry!

I'm thankful to have this awesome market here in Santa Rosa! You seriously can't beat the freshness, selection, or expertise offered here. The prices are fair too! From my experience independent shops like this are getting harder to come by and thats truly a shame. If you haven't already check this place out! Whole foods can not compete.

Recommended by a host at Papapietro Perry tasting room in Healdsburg.... and to recommend a seafood place in Santa Rosa, so we had to check it out! Black and Tan beer for me so I had a change of pace from wine, but my friend had the Pali Pinot Noir "Riviera" 2014....next time, let's bring our Papapietro Perry wine and pay the $10 corkage fee. Did I tell you the Seared Idaho Trout with tapenade was delicious and so was my friend's Grilled Alaskan King Salmon with Argentinian Chimichurri? Yes, absolutely, so we'll be back! Another visit and I am eating the scallops and farro....absolutely the best!

Their fish is always fresh and super tasty! The workers are extremely helpful and informative and always offer a bag of ice to help the fish stay cold on the way home. We treat ourselves to fresh fish every week!

Delicious lunch at SR Seafood. My mom wanted beer batter shrimp for her 80th, and there's no better place than our local restaurant. I think this is my 3rd or 4th visit, usually for dinner, but lunch was easy, plenty of seating, no wait. Great day place for those with limited vision, aka Mom. Food is delicious, prices are fair, staff is friendly. I love the smoked salmon pasta, yum can't go wrong with anything on their vast menu. Eat local & Enjoy!

I love the quality of the fresh seafood here. The selection is good, even though the location is small. I recommend ordering online ahead of time. It is not the best location to browse. I felt a little rushed. But, you can tell they practice good hygiene and cleanliness from the quality of the fish.

Hello, I purchased a box of salt cod from your santa rosa store on Sept 10, 2004. When we went to reconstitute it the box was very difficult to open, had to snap the lip off and everything was very crusty inside. We've purchased cod from you and made this many times before and never saw this. So after reconstituting and poaching it the cod was very hard and broke apart like splinters of wood. Needless to say inedible. I called your store on Friday, spoke to Ryan and he basically blew me off, implying that maybe we didn't cook it properly and that it was longer than 24 hours since I purchased it so he couldn't do anything about it.. We live in Lake County and didn't attempt to cook it until yesterday 9/12/24) So if someone in charge reads this just know that the customer service we received was very poor and we will not use your store for our seafood. BTW, we moved out here a few years ago from the East Coast where we had access to amazing fresh seafood and were excited when we found your store. I also contacted the supplier Sea Star Seafood regarding this issue. Jus check what yo buy before you leave the store.

My experiences echo that of many here. SRS is definitely not into the customer service aspect of having a retail business. It might be fine for the docks and maybe they treat special order/big spenders better than what I've experienced as a more budget constrained person. I dunno...Maybe since they're the only real fish market in SR, they've kind of got an attitude where they're just universally condescending and rude to everyone-- you can clearly see an example of that reflected in their responses to the majority--not all--of the negative reviews here on Yelp. Long before COVID when I was in the mood for seafood (which is expensive, yes? so you want it to be good), I'd hop check their website, decide on something at my price point, then I'd go in and they were either out of it or the price was significantly higher than the website. There I'd be standing like a dufus--its a very small store--hurridly trying to find something else affordable and often spent more than I'd wanted to. It felt a bit like bait and switch but I doubt it's intentional. I just think they don't put the effort into maintaining accurate signage in the store nor did they stay on top of their website. So after 3 visits with the identical experience I asked them why the discrepancies. An officious man, I assumed he was the owner, was a big jerk about it, angrily barking that they were taking the website down and I could basically FO and take my business somewhere else if I didn't like it. Okaaaay then. Now, I'll give them credit for recognizing the website was something they were unable to maintain and inactivating it. The product is good, no issues with that, but this guy was really an @. I don't need to spend a fortune on fish AND be treated badly. They just need to be nicer to their customers or retire.

Great selection of fresh seafood, including oysters. I love seeing their smokers outside & chatting with friendly "Tio". He's very proud of his work and it seems he's a favorite uncle to everyone there. Inside all the staff are helpful & knowledgeable about the fish & what's in season etc. Thanks, Joe! Great selection of prawns & oysters too. Sad their restaurant is closed, but their freshly smoked salmon is always delicious, especially the peppered version. It's a local favorite!

We got our smoked salmon today at the farmers market in San Rafael....it was MOST FANTASTIC!!! Every piece was moist and evenly smoked and NOT salty!!!! They said it was from Alaska but tasted local and freshly smoked to perfection...thank you...can't wait to try the salmon cakes for breakfast with eggs. YUM

We stumbled upon this gem looking for the restaurant and didn't realize it was right around the corner (check out my review for Santa Rosa Seafood Raw Bar and Grill). Since the restaurant wasn't going to open for another few minutes, we decided to check out the area. When you step inside, there's no fishy smell of any sort and they keep the place clean. We ordered a dozen of the mini raw oysters which I've never seen them so small at $1.50 a piece and to shuck them, it's an additional $7.00. It comes to $25. Joe, one of the son's owners, took good care of us. He put the oysters on a ziplock bag of ice and packed them neatly for easy eating later. Joe even offered us some smoked salmon while we wait. Let me tell you. This is the best smoked salmon I've ever had! It's smoked and still juicy!!!! We went to have lunch next door at their restaurant and had the best clam chowder. Red my review if you haven't yet! The smoked salmon is in their clam chowder! It's got a little taste of bacon, but you'll soon be fooled it's the salmon with the flavors! I came back and ordered the poke for my mom and Joe, graciously, blessed us with a smoked steak salmon on the house! I'm holding back tears as I'm writing this review hahaha! He wrapped it up and put it on another bed of ice for our picnic later! It was maybe another hour before we had our picnic at the winery and everything was still fresh on ice. The poke is amazing! The smoked salmon is delicious. The mini oysters were great, I just regret not picking up any dressings for it. Joe not only shucked the oysters but pulled the muscles out of them for easy slurping! I love this spot! The seafood is so fresh and the staff is always so friendly. I love getting the bay scallops, and dipping them in yuzu paste and ponzu for the perfect appetizer. The yellowtail here is my second go to, which I will also eat raw with some olive oil and ponzu with a sprinkle of green onion. It's always a huge chunk, so what's left over is perfect for a miso glazed yellowtail cooked stovetop with some ginger the next night. My friend has gotten the seafood salad, and it is so fresh and refreshing. I got a bushel of oysters here once, and we shucked, ate, barbecued, ate, and it was glorious. Everyone's all safe and respectful here, and I mean it's a quick in and out. There's usually 1 or 2 people there shopping when I go. But woah when there's three I'll wait outside til one leaves. If you call ahead they'll hold stuff for you to pick up layer in the day.

Best raw oysters and smoked salmon in Santa Rosa! We had a gathering of 12 family members and enjoyed fresh oysters, BBQ'd as well as raw. Incredible flavor and freshness. We bought large bag of 60 and additional bag of 30. We sprayed off the outside of the whole, live oysters when we first got them home with a garden hose, kept them on ice and had them Sat, Sun, Mon and Tues. They kept fresh during the whole time and were delicious! Daughter and son-in law are chefs, and they made up a great mignonette, which we used for the raw and also a herb, garlic, butter mix for BBQ. If all this is not enough, when I told the owner and superv. Jose that the BBQ'd/smoked salmon smelled delish, they took me over to the salmon in the shop and gave me gratis 2 pieces - one peppered and one not! Wow, the salmon was out of sight delicious, moist and we used as an hors d'oeuvre . Can't say enough about the people and great oysters and salmon!
