Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Building

Don't come here for 4th of July fireworks. Workers don't know what they're doing. We sat in long lines after the fireworks show for almost 90min waiting to be directed out of the parking lot. I went to Marin County fair and was out of the parking lot in less than 5min. We hopped in the car and we were able to leave immediately and we were on the freeway within 10 minutes. This is unacceptable for Santa Rosa as the freeway is closer than the one leaving Marin. I've also seen people handing out food here without gloves or masks on for the food drive while driving by going to the hospital. Don't come here or park here for fireworks. Go to Marin. The show is much better and there's bands, rides, etc

Went to trust seminar in this building, old facilty but has a big space for events etc..first time here, big parking lot around whole building across from the santa rosa event center and racetrack

A beautiful time capsule of a building. Wonderful spot for events. Delightfully drab. I hope they never remodel this magical place. Very surreal if you're there at night.

Live music and Soul Food are exactly what was needed tonight. I ordered the shrimp and grits tonight provided by Smackin Soul Food and then dance to the cool, Funk jazz performed by Heaping Teaspoon. I enjoyed my Tuesday night.

I've been here for several events, most recently for one of the well known Crab Feed's popular in the area. I've been to several and this was a great crowd, massive silent auction, raffle's, good service - all locals hustling to get the food out, good attitudes and the Crab was delicious. The best part besides delicious Crab is that the money is going to S.A.Y. an outstanding organization that assists homeless youth and a group named Becoming Independent which helps disabled adults in living in the area - not so easy or inexpensive. It's a huge hall with a massive parking lot, it's not brand new but I personally like the charm of an older building and these big old halls with food festivals and just the right amount of seating for smaller / not too small music venues. The Farmers Market happens in the parking lot every week and it is one of the best around imo. Lots of affordable fresh produce, crafts, and nic nac patty whack give a dog a bone. I was at the Farmers Market in Sebastopol and you had to have plenty of bread to buy their bread. expensive - this one is more for us normal folks, friendly people with good tasty food.

Great venue however the signage for the day I went there for an event could have been better as there was one event going on at the fairgrounds and then the event at the vets building and there was a charge to park for the fairgrounds event but not the other. As I was leaving the event on the sign in small letters it said free parking for the event at the vets building. Also the guy that was collecting the parking money was rude and didn't ask which event we were attending which would have been helpful at the beginning. The rooms are nice and big and connected well so you can't really get lost.

Big auditorium, large stage in back with a banquet room to the side. The building also hosts farmers markets and a flea market in the adjacent parking lot as well. The auditorium suits small concert venues and large award ceremonies/dinners. Building could use some interior & exterior updates, but has been taken care of over the years.
