A cult-beloved brewery for mixed-fermentation saisons and elegant hop work, lauded by the San Francisco Chronicle and SFGATE. The easygoing Capitola taproom anchors a beachy day out; Oakland Arbor pours closer to home on other days.

A friendly and busy brewery and tap room. It features a great selection of beers (IPA to belgian) and a self service open seating restaurant. It is dog friendly and has games for kids and adults alike. The food is provided by Bookie's, located within the brewery. Bowser serves "not so authentic Detroit style pizza".

Great out of the way local brewery. One of the biggest award winners on Untappd.

Santee Adairius Rustic Ales: A Post-Hike Haven with Stellar Saisons After countless recommendations, we finally made it to Santee Adairius Rustic Ales on a perfect California day. Our adventure started with some scenic hiking and soaking up the sun at Capitola Beach. Feeling refreshed and ready for a reward, we ventured into this beloved brewery. We weren't disappointed. Santee Adairius boasts a fantastic selection of craft beers, with a focus on rustic ales. We kicked things off with the refreshing "By the Sea" pilsner, a perfect choice after a day outdoors. The "Capitola Bright" light beer was another crowd-pleaser. For those seeking something more unique, the "Little Quibble" saison offered a delightful twist. We also enjoyed the "Borrowed Knowledge," a Belgian-style Dubbel that lived up to its name. The "A Small Rest" offered a unique flavor profile, while the "So Happily" hazy IPA was a juicy and satisfying choice. But the true champion of the day was the "Sun Ship" saison with watermelon. This innovative brew perfectly balanced the crispness of the saison with the sweetness of watermelon, making it a standout on the menu.We bought home Saison Bernice and Proper Discourse bottles and were amazing Santee Adairius isn't just about the beer, though. The spacious outdoor seating allows you to relax and soak up the California sunshine. Plus, they welcome outside food, so you can grab some grub from your favorite local spot and enjoy it alongside your brew. While they don't have a permanent food menu, they often have food trucks parked outside, offering a variety of options. Whether you're a seasoned saison lover or simply appreciate a well-crafted beer, Santee Adairius Rustic Ales is a must-visit. With its relaxed atmosphere, delicious brews, and outdoor seating, it's the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. So grab your friends, lace up your hiking boots, and get ready for a memorable experience!

Google
Great beer. Docking a star cause service felt a bit pretentious to be honest. I’ve had comparable level beer without that vibe and better atmosphere. All styles were good though and I enjoyed myself

Google
Very good beer, nice staff, nice patio Despite being close to the highway, it’s very quiet on the patio (which has maybe ten tables). A choice of about ten beers on tap. We tried Pilsner, IPA and Porter. All good. Dogs welcome.

Google
Good beer. Good location. Dog friendly as well. I had a couple of their IPAs, which were reasonably tasty but not great. I do recommend a visit if you are in Capitola.

Google
They change their menu all the time. Good trick to keep me coming. They partner with food vendors on the weekends. It gets busy!

Google
Beers were amazing. We tried 5 different saisons, which were all great. The inside tasting room is relaxed. They don’t do tasting flights or food. There isn’t any outdoor seating. The area isn’t downtown but in more of an industrial area.

Yelp
Sante has really great beer. The space is cool and their patio is great. Groups welcome and patio is kid and dog friendly. No food here, so plan ahead. Sometimes they bring in food trucks! The bartender gave some great recommendations. I had an IPA, a pale ale, and one of their barrel aged beers which they somewhat specialize in. I also bought a bottle of Cellarman to go which is their staple oak barrel aged saison sour beer. Loved it here and looking forward to visiting again!

Yelp
I've been hearing about Sante Adairius for years, and finally got to check it out recently. I didn't know much about them other than the high praise it received from my family's resident beer lover. Was super excited to see that they had quite a few fermented barrel aged beers, one even made with a gin barrel from Venus Spirits - love seeing that localized biz love! They had 10 beers on draft as well as in-house vintage bottles and cans and bottles to go. They didn't do flights but you could opt for half-pours and make your own. The half pours were pretty large though, so might not want to go overboard if ordering multiple halves. It was a quiet and chilly day in SC when we went in and we ended up having the whole inside to ourselves for most of our visit. There was also a nice outdoor patio they created with plenty of picnic table and heaters. The interior design was really cool, table and bars were all either barrels or repurposed wood that created a classic and rustic vibe. Pretty hard spot to find unless you're looking for it! Located at the dead-end of a road with a bunch of businesses that parallel highway 1, this spot can be easy to miss. Parking lot has turned into outdoor seating so be sure to grab one of the spots on the street before the parking lot.

Yelp
Great sunny patio with seating and a mural! They have different food offerings daily and lots of choices for drinks. I wish they had more vegan/vegetarian options, but I would go back here even without that.

Yelp
Holy smokes! Wow and so many other adjectives. What a great beer no pizza selection with an absolutely wonderful staff. Even though I'm not a beer drinker, they did have some good selection of wine to go with their pizzas. Pizza is a short coming description of the focaccia style pizzas. Chef Todd, formally from Manressa...yes Manress has some serious game going on! Many different deep dish style pizzas. The pizza dough is fermented for 48 hours and is crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. We had the sausage pizza which was rich with white sauce and delicious sausage. I dare two people to finish one of these. It's a food group unto it self. Dani and the staff are welcoming as is the vibe. We can hardly wait to come back and try come of there other offerings. Gosh, I wish I was a beer drinker. What wonderful choices.

Yelp
Great tasting room, friendly staff, delicious beers. This is a small facility, but don't judge the quality of the beer by the size of the facility because this place puts out some great beers. Sadly, I do not live near here because I would visit frequently.

Yelp
Always make a point of dropping in while in town. Great beers, people, food and vibe. Go get it!

Yelp
We enjoyed this brewery very much! They had a good range of beers on tap and great patio space. It was hard to find only because Apple Maps took us through a residential neighborhood (it's somewhat off the beaten path), but worth the journey to get there. My only recommendation is - if you intend to purchase any beers from the cooler / options not on tap, double check the prices with the staff first. We purchased a stout that came highly recommended by the staff and discovered it was $30+, much more than we expected one beer to cost.

Yelp
One of the best brewery tasting rooms in the country, SARA produces some extremely high-quality beer of all styles. Though famous for their sours and saisons, they knock it out of the park with their IPAs, pale lagers, and stouts as well. The main drawbacks to this tasting room are the poor location and lack of food. There wasn't even a food truck or food vendor during both of my visits. With the poor location, you pretty much have to drive (or better) Uber here. And because of the food situation, you have to bring your own food, too. They allow in outside food, which is alright if you know where to go. As a tourist, it's not very welcoming in this respect. But just based on quality of beer alone, this is an easy 5-star venue. You can sample some of the most coveted beers in the world and enjoy them out on their patio that's expanded into the parking lot thanks to COVID/social distancing. SARA makes my current all-time favorite IPA right now, and having it on tap at the source was otherworldly. If Michelin Guide did breweries, this would be Michelin 3-star: worthy of a special trip just to visit.

Me and the girlies were having a girls night and we needed some quality brewskis. Did not disappoint LOL. I love you Keith you have impeccable music taste

Yelp
The pizza is bomb, perfect for beer. I need to give the beer a second chance because I smashed way too much pizza.

Yelp
I went to quite a few breweries on my California coast roadtrip and SA had my single most enjoyable beer. It was the Fruitful Forecast Guava sour beer that was mind blowing. The IPA I tried was very good as well. The beertender was nice and the outside picnic benches weren't too full.

Yelp
Amazing craft brew. The brewers here are definitely special. Rustic is the perfect way to describe their best work. They impart an old world feel and taste to the art of brewing. Have never really had anything that compares to the overall offerings of Sante Andairius. Tomorrow Today and Deaf Stewart are two of my favorites. If you love barrel aged saison's or delicious double hazy IPA, this place needs to be in your "must try" list.

Yelp
"Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder" -- Kinky Friedman As I was standing there staring directly at the lovable blonde I was gently caressing, I wondered which flavor I should try next! All the beer choices on the board looked good. The blonde retriever lost interest in me and walked away to his owner. I took another sip of the beer I was holding, sat in one of the chairs and leaned back comfortably. The board listed the ten beers that were available on tap. A bartender wearing bluejeans came out of the back door holding a couple of bottles of beer and handed it to a customer. These were beers one could only but in large bottles and were listed on a smaller board on the wall. I had to drive back home so the only way I could try any of them was to buy a bottle to go. Sante Adairius Rustic Ales was recommended by a colleague of mine and I must say it was worth the effort that it took to get there. The three beers that I tried were delicious. The place is small, but very nice and comfortable. Founders Tim Clifford and Adair Paterno have done a great job with this tap room. There is no food served on the location, but there were menus from a nearby BBQ restaurant which you could call for delivery. You can read more about Sante Adairius Rustic Ales' history here: https://goo.gl/8Ay8Pu

Yelp
On one lovely Sunday afternoon,,, 831 (West Coast IPA) Rabbit Warren (IPA w/Simcoe&Mosaic) Reverence (English-style Barleywine aged in Bourbon barrel for 24 months) All so tasty!! Must come again I wished they had a beer flight though.

Yelp
Window service while standing in the parking lot. How can that be rated? Easily! The person on the other side of the window knew the beers inside & out, was very helpful, and guided me to a great selection. Prices seem high until you realize you're getting incredible beers, large wine-bottle size items, and then understand the process to make such a great process. I'll happily spend a few extra dollars for such a high quality product. YUM! I'm coming back once I can actually sit down and enjoy a few on site!

Yelp
I caught wind of Sante Adairius, strangely, from the Instagram of one of my favorite beer emporiums in America - Monk's Cafe in Philly. They were visiting the area and if Monk's likes it then, likely, I will like it. Since then it was on my list. After a bit more Instagram snooping, I also noticed they're followed by one of my favorite Pennsylvania breweries - Tired Hands, also noted for their great, unique beers and bottles. Decided to take the trip down to the Santa Cruz area one weekend and made a pit stop at SARA and I'm really happy we did! It's right off a residential/industrial street off Route 1 since they do all the brewing there. I knew that as soon as we looked at the tap list and saw four saisons (don't get me started about the bottles), we were in business. It's hard to find a place that does a saison well here. There's a handful of IPAs here but they're a dime a dozen in California and, while it was a good IPA, saisons is where SARA shines. While I was there, we tried half pours of the following Prism Schism (IPA with 100% Mosaic), Capitola Sunset (rustic saison), Family Whistle (barrel aged saison with passionfruit), and As You Can See (cider barrel aged saison with Chardonnay Lees). Again, IPA is great and I love me some Mosaic hops but certainly not the highlight of the experience. The saisons have a great nose, just the right tartness, and a bit of complexity after a few more sips. If you like complex, craft brews, this is the place. I love their focus on Belgian styles and experimentation. More than anything, I'm so happy to have found a brewery that's willing to make some bomb saisons and other styles that I don't think is as plentiful up in NorCal outside of Russian River. Extra kudos on the decor in the brewery as well! Love the stools, tables, lights, and the know-how to put tasteful ceiling sound deadening. Cheers! Oh and if you were wondering, they're @rusticales on Instagram :)

Yelp
Ok. Hadn't been here in years. Was excited to just grab a saison with my well trained dog. Place looks great, customer service was good and saison was good. That is why I have to give the two stars. However we will not be returning due to customers coming in with off leash dogs, as well as the dog roaming around the brewery that belonged to one of the brewery workers. I decided to hurry up and finish seeing numerous dogs just roaming around. I went inside to pay my bill and dogs are constantly getting in my dogs face. No fair for ANY dog that is on leash. No one, not the owners or even workers seemed to do anything or give a shit about what was going on. Ran outta there with my puppy and we will not be returning. How bout you guys follow the leash law and have your patrons do the same. So pissed off, and completely unprofessional as well as disrespectful on the part of This brewery. Get your shit together people. Also, I won't expect the owners to even address this review since they haven't responded to others when not satisfied.

Yelp
Sante Adairius Rustic Ales brewery and tasting room in Capitola on Kennedy Dr is very unique, awesome brewery. The ambiance here is appropriately rustic and hip with the modern vibe. There are barrel tables and wooden benches, cozy nooks great for a small group of friends, or you can meet someone new if you come on your own. The owners poured their souls into this place and it shows through every touch. Everyone here is super friendly, patrons or staff, and the place is dog friendly. All sorts of breeds come here, both canine and human kinds, everyone likes to socialize, and this is just the place to do it! It's family friendly as well, so don't be surprised if you see a bunch of kids hanging out with the doggies. You're sure to discover a taste that speaks to you, but you have to keep on trying - they release different beers on certain weekends and in limited additions, so you might miss just the right one! They quickly became famous for their sour beers, porters, stouts, aged in barrels, fruity saisons, and odd combos that hit the palette. Sante Adairius has a following, I've seen the same folks here time and time again, they keep in the know about limited releases and members only buys, but you don't have to go deep into any of that, just come by and taste a couple of locally made beers, and you'll see what I mean.

Adam P.

Yelp
Best beer producer in the San Fran Bay Area. Primarily sour beer, but they deliver on everything. Definitely recommend heading this way.

Yelp
In a landscape dominated by overly hopped ales, Sante Andarius reminds us how complex and beautiful beer can be. A dog friendly establishment tucked away between the freeway and an industrial park there's not nearly enough parking for this popular place. Only in Santa Cruz would a brewery by half crowded at 4pm on a Tuesday, but, I guess the word was out, avoid traffic, drink here first!! I had two pours of two different ales. Both were bursting with flavor and beautiful complexity that ligured. Plenty of plugs for phones, so if you are by yourself, make a friend or surf the web but def take a beer break here!!

Yelp
Phenomenal! You won't find another brewery with as exceptional saison/ farmhouse ales in California. Their brewery is situated in Capitola and is a bit out of the way from all of the typical Nor Cal destinations, but you should make an effort to drive out here. The town is also beautiful and near the coast so while you're at it, you should make it a day trip to explore Santa Cruz and some of the surrounding wilderness (very green trees await you!). Their brewery was tucked behind some buildings and their tasting room was somewhat small in the front, but they had extra benches located in an open back area, so somehow there was just enough room for everyone. No tasters are served here (for various cost/ business reasons), but you are allowed to get half pours (as the smallest pour at least)! I would suggest doing this then getting some bottles to go at the end of the drinking day. They are pretty random about their bottle availability though. Some days they'll have bottles to go, other days none at all, then sometimes only for on-site consumption. Always check IG before heading out! They are dog friendly! You are also able to bring your own food and I hear you can order from next door to have it delivered. We went on New Years Day (thank the heavens they were opened!), so that option wasn't available, but sounds convenient for other days. Great little brewery in an obscure, random town but worth your time and money!

Yelp
My first visit to the OG Sante Adairius location located in the backroads of suburban Capitola. I love how their tasting room was dog friendly. Dogs, great beer, and the people who enjoy both. How can things get any better? Their beer menu is handwritten which is a nice change to the TV screens of beer that I usually see at brewpubs. I tried their pale ale first before going with a nice dark stout. They also had some bottles for sale as well as some T-shirts too. The shirts were in drawers so I had to get on my knees to look through the selection. Ultimately, didn't find anything that I liked. As for the beer itself, their beer definitely lives up to the hype! It's not often that you find a brewery that can make mostly all of their selections at a high quality. I'm not a saison type of guy but I will definitely have their saisons anytime, anyday. Glad I was able to come to this location of SARA but looking forward to seeing their Santa Cruz location that is located near downtown.

Yelp
Kirsten is the absolute best. 100% made me and my partner feel welcome and thoroughly explained all the beers. 10/10 would recommend just for the opportunity to hang out with her. A very rad, bad bartender who knows what she's doing.

Yelp
My husband took me here after we spent a couple hours in Capitola. Plenty of parking and in a non-assuming place. The interior is quite nice though. Their sours are really good. Plenty of nicely polished wooden benches and tables. Dog friendly. Games. Two unisex restrooms. No food for purchase on the premises - would bring your own.
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
SARA and Hill Farmstead, those two are alone- in my opinion- are the best farmhouse Brewers in the US. They usually have bottles for sale (sours only) and their hoppy/dark stuff is typically available for growlers. Their big releases are West Ashley, Saison Bernese, Appreciation, and Cellerman. No food served but you can bring in anything you want. I cannot stress this enough, SARA is the best farmhouse sour ale brewery in California. Please go as soon as possible.

Yelp
Even though I've never had their beer before, this place has been on the short list for quite some time. When I was planning our bay area trip, I made it a point to work in a quick overnight stay in the Santa Cruz area. What made the visit even sweeter is the fact that they just happened to release a batch of their popular "West Ashley" that same day. I ended up buying 3 bottles (the per person max) plus 3 others. Luckily I brought enough "wine diaper" padded bags and we had plenty of room in our luggage. While we were in the taproom, we tried a couple of their sours. For my taste, I enjoyed the Deep Time more than the Beauty Sleep, but both were solid. (The girlfriend liked the Beauty Sleep). I tend to enjoy the more funky sours and Deep Time was pretty well balanced. I can't say too much more since we haven't cracked open any of the bottles yet. I'm happy that we finally got to visit. I couldn't be happier with the souvenirs we brought home.

Yelp
I thought I'd seek out my all time favorite Chardonnay...at Pelican Ranch. Thankfully they were closed. And, again thankfully, Sante was right next door. Looks like this is turning into a Santa Cruz brewery crawl... You know my take on breweries...it's about taste. Mine and yours are different. I'd drink any of their IPAs and focus on the Citra IPAs in particular. Taste aside...service is always the differentiator. And that was where Sante excelled. Both bartenders were attentive and helpful, regardless of the fact that I was a one-timer from out of town. Check these folks out. It was a great experience for me.

Yelp
"Ich bin ein hipster!" What else could I say, really? The beer nerd friend, while lamenting the Reinheitsgebot, had already made the accusation as soon as I admitted to liking Sante Adairius Rustic Ales. To like Sante Adairius is to be hipster, apparently. Yeah, I think it's fair to associate hipsters with a decent percentage of the fans of this place. Even the name of this place itself... Sante. Adairius. Rustic. Ales... could be construed as being conspicuously hipster. But, you know what? Whatever. Sante Adairius makes some damn fine beers. No, I don't have an ironic moustache. No, I don't wear skinny jeans. My legs are too big for that nonsense. No, I don't ride a unicycle or have a top hat. Come to think of it, most folks I've seen in the taproom don't do any of that either. & even if they did, it's all good. Service has been fine & all the beers I've tried so far have been excellent to exceptional. My only gripe is that I wish they did tasters & flights. A full pour, or even a 1/2 pour, is just too much to drink when I want to try everything on the chalkboard. That aside, ultimately, it's all about the beer. & with that, I've been pretty impressed up to this point. So if saying I like Sante Adairius Rustic Ales means someone proclaiming, "du bist ein hipster!" There really is only 1 thing I can say... "Jawohl!"

Yelp
It would've been 4.5 stars but West Ashley is so good I'm that I'm willing to overlook a few things. Though Sante Adarius is a small-scale operation tucked away in a little section of Capitola, this brewery is nothing to scoff at. There is a reason why they have a cult following. That reason is their high quality brews. Tim takes pride in his beers and if anything doesn't meet his standards, he will toss the entire batch. I've never ordered a beer here that I didn't enjoy. Here's what I've had. BOTTLED BEERS -West Ashley - SWEET BABY JEASUS! This is a saison aged in Pinot Noir Barrels with apricots. Fruity. Sour. Elegant. I just. I can't even. The nice guy in me wants to share this beer with you and recommend you stop by when they have a bottle release, even if it means I have more competition for parking. Oh yeah, there is a bottle limit and they only have so much to go around. Get there early. -Farmhouse Noir - dark farmhouse ale aged in petite Syrah and Merlot barrels. Interesting. ON TAP -Vanilla Joe - Porter with verve coffee and vanilla beans. Smelled heavenly. Taste followed the nose. Beautiful balance of coffee and vanilla. I'd definitely order again if it's on tap! - Joe Chavez - Porter with verve Coffee. Great beer but not as good and Vanilla Joe. I'd still order it. - 831 IPA - Danky IPA. Aggressive with the hops. Every time I've come here, this has been the growler fill. If you're a fan of Danky beers, give it a shot! -Notches In Your Spine - Belgian blonde ale with spices. Tastes like yeast and bananas. Still enjoyable but I like their other beers more. I guess their other customers felt the same because I don't see it on the menu anymore. -Anaïs - house saison. Pretty solid Despite these awesome beers, Sante does frustrate me a bit. First off, they allow you to bring in food but they don't offer any. I understand that they are a small operation and there isn't a kitchen in the back, but at least some breweries have food trucks on occasion. Also, they do not offer tasters. You either order a full pour or a half pour. I think what upset me was the price increase for growler fills. When I first started coming to Sante, growler fills were $8 for 1L and $15 for 2L. Not it's $10 and $18 respectively. Womp... At least they will let me fill any growler. If you like craft beer and are willing to overlook the high price, and lack of food and beer flights, then I suggest you stop by. I know I'll be back.

Yelp
Truly artisanal. Enjoying a well-crafted, barrel aged saison with guava and passionfruit. Small tasting room with great beers. However, there is no food but you are welcome to bring your own snacks.

Yelp
We've been here quite a few times since I've written my last review so, I felt it would be a good time to update it. The service here has steadily declined since the first time we came. Most recently we came on a Sunday afternoon. The place was moderately full. The staff seemed to be fully engaged with those they seemed to know sitting at the counter. Prices here have seemed to rise and the brews weren't anything to write home about. While they're still dog friendly, I don't think that is enough for us to keep coming back to Sante Adairius Rustic Ales. Next time, I think we'll pick up some craft brews from Costco or Safeway and enjoy them at the beach. Review #5 of 2017

Yelp
Wow, this place was packed on a late Saturday afternoon. I had no trouble ordering a beer from the bar but I was a bit bummed that they don't offer samplers. It's 6 or 12 oz pours only. Come for the beer, stay for the buzz? Well not really, 12 oz pours only, or 13 oz, whatever. I'm giving them 4 stars because the beer is 5 star but the way it's served is 3 star. So the prices vary but for an example, a full glass of one style was $6 but the "half pour"was $4? It's like they want you to drink full glasses instead of taste, but the full glasses aren't even that full. Moral of the story is if you want to try them all bring a designated driver! I'm a fan and I'll be back. Oh ya, the coolest part I didn't mention is they are dog friendly, see my pics!

Yelp
If I only had one word for this brewery it would be "hipster". But this is my Yelp review and I have many words. Yeah I'm old, kind of opinionated and really like a good beer. So why only 3 stars and a just OK? Nothing at all wrong with the beers, the staff was great with the time they had to give. There really busy. Maybe, it's the layout or the seating. Somewhat uncomfortable for me. Going back? For sure, nothing there is a deal breaker. Last words...fresh beer is always good. There beer is always fresh.

Yelp
Sante Adairius is known throughout the beer community as a leader in saison style based beer. The also make other styles of beer such as IPA, stouts and less common Belgian styles. If you don't come for the world class beer, come for the fun community and friendly dogs that are often found here. + World Class Beer. + Great service + Friendly doggies roam They often sell beer bottles directly. Check their instagram and facebook for availability.

Yelp
Sante Adarius is my favorite brewery in the whole dang country! Some of my best memories have been made sitting in their taproom, or while drinking their bottles with friends. I've made lifelong friends sharing a table (and a pour) with strangers. If you think you're "not a beer person", Sante has a good shot at changing your mind. Their beers are sometimes subtle, sometimes bold, and always creative and delicious. The tasting room feels like a cozy living room, with cute pups hanging out and friendly staff. I need to get back down soon for a visit - I can't wait to check out their new location!

Yelp
Updating these guys because the beers are now more plentiful and the growler options have improved. Latest offerings are 3 more IPAs called Simpleton 6.4%, flyleaf $6.5% and Tomorrow Today at 7.4%. All have different mixtures of simcoe galaxy citra and mosaic hops. The have also a double IPA called Exclamation Point Enigma ! At 8%. The tomorrow today is on the fresh squeezed juice style which has been so popular lately and it's pretty darn tasty. They still do the old staples of 831 and Vanilla Joe which always rock. They even sell a couple of bottle offerings that are normally only given to club members so they are opening things up for the reg folk. Still get the hipsters and long lines, the barking dogs and dogs breaking glasses, and the servers still seem to operate in survival mode but that's ok we can put up with that for some good brew and lively atmosphere. Cheers

Yelp
A small and chill place to grab a drink with a coworker or friend. It seems to be family owned, and has a friendly environment. There places to grab a bite to eat only a few block away! Enjoy a nice day in beautiful Capitola and get a small buzz going by visiting this spot next time you're in the area!

Yelp
Intimate spot next to a wine tasting so if you are with a group, there are options. Great beer and a must stop on Santa Cruzs brew trail.

Yelp
I'm getting in trouble from Yelp again, so I'm going to start this off right to make sure I'm writing about my "firsthand experience here." I got in my car and looked up the address for Sante Adairius on Yelp and put the address into my trusty GPS. I drove all the way there (697 miles) and parked my car in front of a building with the address: 103 Kennedy Dr, Capitola, CA 95010 I got out of my car and walked up to what appeared to be doors. I wanted to walk in, but I had to make sure I was at the correct place. As I looked up I saw a sign that said Sante Adairius Rustic Ales. I thought to myself, "Holy Moly, now I can experience this first hand! Yay!" I walked up to the bar area and asked the guy behind it if I was at the right spot because I needed a firsthand experience here. He nicely said I was going to have a firsthand experience inside Sante Adairius Rustic Ales and not to worry. To make this firsthand experience even better I ordered some... shall I dare say it? Beer! Yes I tasted some beer here first handedly! OMG and it was so good! It was so good I had to Yelp it to let the people know I experienced it firsthand. Beers I've had: Maiden Fields, West Ashley, Saison Bernice, 831 IPA, Simpleton, A Door Ajar, Little Quibble, and plenty more... I could go on forever. As I was sipping and dissecting my Saison / Farmhouse Ale I noticed something odd. There were people with tattoos and dogs, which some confused Yelp reviewers seem to call "hipsters." Oh Phooey, there's "hipsters" here. Jumpin' Jiminy, he has a dog, tattoos and glasses! Hipsters! Stay away from this place at all costs if you're hipsterphobic. I sat comfortably next to the barrel table combing my beard wearing my bright blue skinny jeans, vintage plaid shirt and suspenders while reading my books with poetry in it. I don't see what other reviewers are seeing. Ah! Maybe I forgot my glasses because my 20/20 vision isn't good enough. Later on I'll upload some pictures to show that I had a great firsthand experience here, but then again Yelp might flag my pictures saying that it caught a "personal experience" at a business (whatever the flaming heck that means). Tip for Sante: Keep doing what your doing. Tip for Yelp: GEAD Another tip for Yelp: GFY P.S. Do not use your trusty GPS going here because it's going to get you lost into a neighborhood. Do it old school style and read a map.

Yelp
I have been here twice now and both times, the beers have been quality. They no longer allow beer outside, which is understandable, but the acoustics inside the taproom are...not great. There were SO many folks in there that I couldn't hear my man talking to me a foot in front of my face without needing to yell. That's obviously what everyone else was doing, because it was just a room full of yelling. Coming here the day after a champagne binge...not so great for the head. We left shortly after arriving for fear of exploding brains.

Yelp
3.5 stars Sante Adairius is doubtless the locals' favorite when it comes to breweries, and Luci N. & I had been salivating in our steins for months, waiting for our chance to try em out. We stopped in on a breezy Saturday afternoon, parched and eager to sample the day's offerings. The brewery, like many, is located in an industrial building. Seating is mainly inside, with the bar in one room and another seating area in an adjacent room. We found the crowd friendly enough, though we seemed to be the only non-regulars. Our dogs, who are a bit timid in crowded environments, were a bit overwhelmed by a couple of the dogs, one of whom was allowed to wander free and was mixing it up very aggressively with a couple other dogs. Compared with the reviews of others, we were a bit disappointed. We aren't big fans of sours or saisons, and the beers we tried, though good, were nothing memorable. The beertender reluctantly poured a few samples after we pressed a bit; I didn't feel like there was an opportunity to ask about styles, taste, hops and so on; they were just too busy that day. Based on the reviews from their extensive fan base, we decided to come back soon and try another experience here! We'll be back soon.

Yelp
We tried to find this place three times and one day we got an insider tip as to where it was actually located. Out behind a random neighborhood lies this little brewery. The place is "rustic" like the name states. Everything was redwood and it was dank and dark. They had games to play though, which is a plus. We came on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. We had 4 beers a piece: 831 IPA: Hoppy and not too intense. A solid IPA. Saison Bernice - Mmmm tasty. I really enjoyed the yeasty dryness of this one. Anais - Another saison. Very citrusy. Tripod - Super yum! Oaky goodness. No food or snacks here, so bring your own. Maybe a headlamp too if you'd like to see your drinks or friends if you're there at night.

Yelp
Great beers. Off the beaten path, but really cool set up. Menu was a little interesting-they don't offer flights which we found odd. I like to try 3 2oz pours rather then the one 6oz pour that was offered.

Yelp
By far one of the best breweries I have been to. There are a couple things which set Sante Adairius apart from the rest. The first is simply that they have amazing beer. I tried their 831 IPA and it is one of the better IPA's I have tasted. But what makes them unique is that they are the product of the local brewing community. Each beer is crafted just like a home brewer which if you home brew yourself it will let you appreciate their skill even more. If you are into craft breweries this is a must go!

Yelp
A local gem. If you like sour beers you'd be hard pressed to find something better anywhere in the country. If you are more into IPA or other types, better exist but this right up there with them.

Yelp
This brewery is truly amazing. There is a dog that frequents this establishment named Wrigley and he is a good boy. He will sit, shake, and treat your own doggy very nicely. 5 stars!

Yelp
Lots of fun having the opportunity to finally make it down here after having some of their IPAs on guest tap at The Rare Barrel. Out in the outskirts of Capitola just a short drive East from Santa Cruz, the taproom is very straight forward - main bar and a handful of benches, tables and barrels to perch your beer. Only half and full pours are available, though you thankfully can't go wrong with anything here. Fans of hops and/or sours will love the line-up and notables like Brackish and Love's Armor were mad derricious. Certain beers are available to take out or drink on site depending on the time of year. Staff's pretty friendly and outside food is welcome given that there's no food truck or kitchen on site.

Yelp
World class beers being produced in this sleepy little NorCal beach town. If you are a beer geek, this place has to be on your bucket list! Smallish tasting room ... Very quaint & warm feelsies ... Not like the cold industrial types. Full & half pours at very fair prices considering the high quality. 32oz & 64oz growlers to go ... Will fill blank growlers. Always about 10 different beers on tap. This place is a MUST VISIT!
