We had the best time! Highly recommend getting a tube - our boys had a blast. The pontoon boat was brand new, immaculate, and such a smooth (and fast) ride. It was so easy to register for the rental and I really appreciate the reminder emails/text messages with additional information prior to the day. The marina was so clean and beautiful too, even the porta bathroom was clean. The shop had such a great variety of merchandise, snacks, and various other souvenirs for everyone. If you are in the area, I would recommend renting from Santeetlah Marina!

Cleanest, nicest pontoon we've ever rented over the years and the variety of places. Owner was very courteous and informational. We'll definitely be back. And, of course, the beauty of Lake Santeetlah is incredible.

I have been visiting the Lake Santeetlah Marina for almost 20 years. Randall takes pride in his business—everything is well-maintained and organized. His engineering skills and craftsmanship are evident in the rebuilt marina building complex—it is the work of his own hands. When it came time to replace our dock this past summer, I immediately knew that we would ask Randall to do the work. We love our new Wahoo dock! He was friendly, helpful, and responsive to special requests. Randall does what he says he will do and he has my highest recommendation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day on the lake! We rented one of the Bennington pontoon boats and it was more than we expected. The boat was spotless and had everything we needed and more. The staff at the marina was great to work with. The owner checked us in and was very knowledgeable. He knows the area and we enjoyed talking with him. We were very impressed with our entire experience and can't wait to do it again!

Breathtaking location and generous service! Only positive things to say about this place and the owner Randall. Randall is responsive, helpful, and expert. He helped us get out on the lake despite a spontaneous, last-minute request, and he was understanding and accommodating when we accidentally booked for the incorrect date. The serenity and beauty of the lake, with the mountain scenery and active wildlife, make some sort of stop at the marina a must. My partner and I took a private pontoon boat fishing tour with Jared. The trip far exceeded our expectations. Jared’s immense fishing expertise, friendliness, and thoughtfulness made the trip a success. We are already planning our return as we want to take in the beauty of all of the seasons on this lake. We will be coming back for a kayak fishing tour and to rent kayaks overnight to paddle out to the remote lakeshore camping.

Randall and his staff were so nice and helpful! They explained everything we needed to know about the boat we were renting and answered all the questions we asked. The boat was very clean and my family and I had a great experience on beautiful Lake Santeetlah. Thank you Randall!

Randall and team at Santeetlah Marina were awesome. The boats were new, super clean and well cared for. The marina’s location is perfect on the middle part of the lake so you can get right out and enjoy tubing, water skiing, and just exploring the lake. Upon return from a long day and in any weather (it turned quickly on one of our days on the water) marina staff were on the dock ready, willing and able to help dock and unload (those with younger kids will undoubtedly know how beneficial that is). We can’t to rent again from Santeetlah Marina!

This is the third year we rented a pontoon boat from Santeetlah Marina. We have a great time every year, renting a boat and dragging the kids around the lake on a tube. We appreciate Randall and how well he keeps his equipment. The boat is always very clean, full of fuel and ready to go when we arrive. Look forward to returning again and again in the future.

Very rude , unwelcoming, and unhelpful staff. Went in to acquire about rentals and no one was inside, then an unhappy man showed up and just told us to look at the website, which showed no availability yet they had a full set of kayaks and paddle boards outside.

We had a great trip thanks to Randall. We rented a pontoon boat and a tube for the week. The boat was in pristine condition and he was very helpful. He gave us great instructions and answered all of our questions. There was so much lake to explore that you can't do without a boat. Even if you are a first time boater with limited skills, he will walk you through. Just listen to his advice and ask questions if you don't understand. This man knows what he's doing. We highly recommend Randall. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Randall takes great care of his regular customers. The rental boats are in immaculate condition and he has high quality clothes in the shop. This is not the corner five and dime, but the marina provides a quality experience.

Fantastic customer service. Super friendly. NOT. They refuse to allow you to use their restroom unless you are a "slip owner."

We had so much fun on our 4 hour boat rental. The owner was incredibly friendly and gave us a quick run through on the boat. He was there to help us when we pulled up. The marina is absolutely beautiful and we got to hear all about the history and the love and attention that went into the design and build. We bought a super soft sweatshirt and can't wait to come back. We were lucky to come during the slow season- I am sure they get busy during the summer.

Most unappreciative human being- Randall! Paid $20 per night to leave my vehicle. So very rude! Just like the other posts he seemed to be bothered. Tried to be as kind as I could!

Inflexible, money hungry, poor customer service. Don't even consider renting from this place.

Worse customer service ever. In July 2017, boat allegedly had a broken throttle 2 days before we rented it. We had no other rental options. July, 2018, we rented a deck boat and Randal, owner, held my $100 deposit even though it was returned to him in mint condition. In December 2018, we rented a boat for July, 2019 (7 months in advanced). Randal even convinced us to rent a brand new boat he had in inventory. It was confirmed several times afterwards including June 22, 3 weeks before our arrival. 1 week prior to our arrival, Randal claims boat was sold without warning and he said he had no other boats to rent. He was very cold and non apologetic to the alarming predicament he put us in. We may never return to Santeetlah lake only because of a very bad operated marina.

We rented a beautiful boat for the week from the Santeetlah marina but we have mixed feelings about our experience. In summary, they have nice boats, but be careful what you sign up for and make sure you get a detailed receipt. Initially, we had reserved a boat months in advance from the only other marina on the lake. The day we arrived, they called us to tell us the boat we had reserved was broken down and wouldn't be fixed for several days. Because of this, we wound up at the Santeetlah marina, where we rented a very nice boat, but wound up paying twice as much as we had planned. What is happening is that because of the much lower price, people are reserving boats from the other boat rental place and then getting screwed out of a boat at the last minute because apparently the other marina's boats are unreliable. Then, because there is no place else to go, folks wind up at the Santeetlah marina, between a rock and a hard place because they are vacationing on a lake and now have no boat. This puts the owner/manager of the Santeetlah marina (Randall) in a position of having no real competition and plenty of vacationers desperate for boats, so he can charge a premium. The good part is, the Santeetlah marina is a beautiful facility and has nice, new boats. Randall and his wife seemed sympathetic to our situation and did have a nice boat we were thankful we were able to rent last minute. That part of our experience was very good. The bad part is that there were a lot of charges we were unaware of until we looked up our credit card activity. Be advised Randall charges a 3-4% credit card surcharge that he does not advise you of. For our boat rental this amounted to an extra $80. He will also charge for the use of a tube or knee-board, which the other boat rental place includes at no charge. We didn't realize this until after the fact because we didn't ask and we didn't get an itemized receipt. Something else we weren't super happy about is being charged for something we didn't think was our fault. There were several bumpers tied to the boat when we rented it. We didn't touch them but just left them alone as we figured Randall had them tied them on where and how he wanted them, so we let them be. Well, at some point one of them fell off somewhere on the lake. We were honest and called him to tell him about the missing bumper as soon as we noticed it. When we returned the boat, we purchased some souvenirs from him and bought the gas to fill the boat back to full. When he rang us up he said nothing about the bumper, so we figured he was taking responsibility for it falling off. But later when I checked my Visa bill I could see that the day after we left he charged us for a bumper. He did tell us he was refunding the $100 cleaning fee, but I have yet to see that come through on my card. The bottom line is that I think the Santeetlah marina is a good place to rent a boat if you go in prepared to get the price for everything quoted in full and you make yourself aware of all the charges up-front and know exactly what you are paying for. Get copies of your contract and copies of itemized receipts. We didn't do that because we were just desperate at that point and grateful to get a boat, period, and that was our fault. There are however probably a lot of other people that wind up in the same position because of the poor reliability of the other marina. This puts people in a vulnerable position, so be an educated consumer.

Like the other review, we also had the impression of rudeness. We stopped in the first week of June in mid-week for a bag of ice, and maybe some snacks and boat gas. A man came down from up the hill in a cart, and seemed put-out that he had to come down. I tried to make friendly conversation and get some fishing tips for the lake, since it was our first visit and nothing was biting. No smiles, no animation, no information...asked about using a dumpster, and he directed us elsewhere, accessible only via road. We bought the ice, but decided not to purchase fuel or anything else, since he seemed so put-out by our visit.

The customer service was severely lacking. I called to inquire about reservations and was hung up at the end of the call and later my sister called to ask what the fuel rate was, since it's an additional cost to the boat rental price, and the staff member (presumably the same one) was very short with her.

I'll never understand why sociopaths go into customer service. We arrived at the marina with three carloads of family during a reunion to ask about renting a couple of boats. My sister, brother-in-law, and their kids arrived first and, after being in the car for a couple of hours, asked if they could use the restroom. They were flatly denied and told not to park in the lot. There was hardly anyone else around so space was not an issue. This is how the owners treat prospective customers? My other brother-in-law arrived, inquired about the boats, and was told gruffly "two days notice" without the guy even looking at him. I wonder if these a-holes woke up one day and said, "you know how we can make a bunch of money? Start a marina on the lake and charge top dollar." They failed to realize that they'll have to deal with people to get those $$'s. That's the part they hate due to being antisocial psychopaths. It's either that or the marina was handed down to them and they think the golden parachute will last forever. Whatever the case, it's unfortunate this is currently the only marina on the lake. They need some competition to drive them out. It would be easy for anyone with half a brain and a nice disposition. As for the people currently running the place, F them. You'd be doing a public service by staying away to help drive them out of business. Mean people suck. P.S. I'm guessing those leaving 5-star ratings must be family or friends (if they have any).
