Cranes Restaurant Will Feature Spanish-Japanese Food From a Decorated Chef | Eater DC

"Working under three-Michelin-star Catalan chef Santi Santamaria at his eponymous Santi in Singapore profoundly influenced him; he says that working with Santi “changed my life” and put him to another level of understanding commitment, and he stresses that service is the most important thing." - Tierney Plumb

Visited as it's on the Entertainer app and it's a great choice! We tried the pineapple pizza and the smoked lamb pizza. Loved the pizza crust on both! The pineapple one was delicious, but the smoked lamb was quite smoky and might not be a crowd-pleaser. Overall, we enjoyed the food. Note: no air-con, so it can get warm on hot days.

Fusion of Indian and Italian, with handmade pasta and pizza. We ordered the Butter Chicken Pizza, wings and Mushroom Pasta. The pizza is great, flavour of butter chicken blends well with the pizza. However for the pasta, the noodles tasted abit raw, and taste of mushroom does not blend well with the pasta. Tasted raw too. Overall the pasta was way below standard. Lastly, the wings are normal, slightly sweet and a little spicy. Overall, not that great of a visit but service and atmosphere is great.

Decent spot for some unique wings, but I'm not sure if I'd come back for the pizza. The lack of certain amenities and a few misses on the menu make it a tough sell for a return visit, especially for the price. Pros * The Maple Glazed Wings are a definite highlight and worth trying. Cons * The Truffle Polpettine was not worth the price; it was a big disappointment. * The pizza dough is on the thicker side, which might not be for everyone. * Many of the pizza options on the menu were unavailable, which was frustrating. * There's no air conditioning, so it can get pretty hot and uncomfortable, especially during peak hours. * It can get quite noisy inside, making it difficult to have a conversation. * They don't have Tabasco sauce, which is a bit of a bummer for those who like some extra heat on their pizza. * It's a bit on the expensive side for what you get.

Serving sourdough pizza & pasta with rather unique flavours, the food was so delicious, I went more than once (also coz the pizza was huge, so I brought a group to share the second time). Plus, there’s 1-for-1 with the MeRewards app! The Scallop & pumpkin risotto is a must-try for risotto fans! Sweet pumpkin taste, abundance of scallops & nice crunch from the toasted hazelnuts. Butter Chicken pizza’s base of tomato cream, spices & curry oil give it a kick, a good choice if u like strong taste! Pasta-wise, the Burnt Sweet Corn Vongole was appetizing with a citrusy lemon taste, & had more clams than the visible shells shown. IG @pingguo301

[TELOK AYER, SINGAPORE] @santis.sg serves up Italian fare with interesting twists in a casual yet intimate setting that is great for group catch ups and date nights. Interestingly, we came for pizzas but stayed for their pastas as the latter were much better. We ordered the Pesto Cream Stracciatella Pasta 🌿 ($22) as I'm a sucker for pesto 🤣 and it delivered WELL. You get a strong punch of the basil aromatics, followed by a nice savoury flavour that it's too overpowering. The cheese makes it rich yet somehow light at the same time, and I totally can finish this by myself. Pastas are made fresh weekly, and you can tell by the nice al dente mouth feel. The Vodka Sugo & Italian Sausage Pasta 🌭 ($24) was another delight to have. The light touch of vodka balanced the cream used, making this a much lighter pasta to have. Minced sausages added a meaty and smoky touch that puts the flavour savoury forward. Absolutely lovely. The pizzas we ordered unfortunately did not deliver the punch we wanted it to 🥲 indeed the sourdough crust was chewy and smoky, but the ingredients on top doesn't seem to match well. The Pepperoni & Hot Honey 🍕 ($30) was way too sweet, Butter Chicken 🍗 ($28) and Not so Classic Margherita 🍅 ($24) was not flavourful enough somehow. We managed to add flavour through the homemade chilli garlic oil provided though! With 20% discounted cash vouchers on Chope, I think it is worth it to come back for their pastas! I've heard that their sides are good as well, so will try more of that next time 😃

The food portions here are generous, which is always a plus. I especially enjoyed the pizza – it was delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. The restaurant has an outdoor seating area, relaxed vibe to the dining experience. The pork chop, however, was just average – nothing particularly memorable. That said, I’d definitely come back again if I’m craving for pizza

Ordered 3 dishes for 2 pax: Butter Chicken Pizza, Burnt Sweet Corn Vongole, and Baby Octopus. The pizza and vongole were delicious, but the baby octopus didn’t quite meet expectations—it was much chewier and tougher than expected. But the photos of it make it look so delicious! Overall, still a great spot to hang out. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their pizza and pasta!
