Santísimo Taco - Review - Brickell - Miami - The Infatuation

"This Brickell taco shop intentionally opened on a Tuesday in the spirit of alliteration. They have tacos al pastor, carne asada, birria, and more. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Mariana Trabanino

Super delicious tacos, cazuelas, sides and more! The service is also super amazing. The girls working the counter were very friendly and let us know that they had a special which would make our check cheaper. I really appreciate when staff lets us know about a special that we can take advantage of when we basically ordered it without ordering it and there is a financial benefit.

Ok. So hear me out. I’m not going to slam a place that just opened up. I get it. Everyone is learning. All good. But I will say a few things I noticed. One, the pastor is spinning and not being used as orders are taken. There’s a bin of pastor and they refill it as needed. That cone of beautiful meat with the piña on top looked like it hadn’t been sliced in hours of not the beginning of the day. Two. I understand uber eats orders come in and I was told “we do orders as they come in” but in the 3 minutes that takes an in person patron to order there can be 7 orders in on uber eats and “making them in order they come in” has to be addressed as far as in house order can be knocked out vs. the uber eats order when the delivery person isn’t even there and ends up sitting on the counter. The food was mediocre at best. So I will go back in a month and update the review as necessary.

Delicious fresh chicken tacos and guac. Love the family business vibe. Great branding. The chips tasted a little stale and didn’t have any flavor. The salsa bar helped add flavor but I recommend maybe offering a lightly salted / flavored version.

Brand new must try taco restaurant. I sat down and ate my Tacombo with the owner sharing his secret hot sauce and drank a refreshing Tamarindo. The staff were from all around the world and kind to me when I asked for help with the menu. The owner prides himself on his authentic Mexican tacos and they are!!! Everything! The corn tortillas and flour option is considerate. The birria tacos were my favorite, but the pineapple in the pastor was authentic and unique for Miami’s taco scene. Try their pickled onions at their self service homemade salsa bar. Oh! And the veggie tacos have EGGPLANT. They do take out and I will be ordering from here weekly if I lived full time in Miami. Tourists! This is the spot to try if you want authentic!

Hands down the best steak tacos in Brickell, maybe all of Miami. The meat was juicy and perfectly seasoned, the tortillas were fresh, and every bite had that perfect balance of flavor and texture. You can tell they actually care about quality here. I’ve had tacos all over the city, and these blow the rest out of the water. If you’re in Brickell and craving tacos, this spot is it.

Sorry I get they’re a new place but these are the worst tacos I’ve had in my life, by far. The tortilla was cold and hard as a rock. They didn’t even bring lime with the orders. The meat felt like it was reheated in a microwave it was boiling. The most shocking part; the owner was sitting next to the kitchen and saw the orders come out like this and didn’t care. If I could short a restaurant in Brickell, this would be the one, it is sadly the worst food I’ve had in miami.

Absolutely delicious. We tried the steak, chicken & el pastor tacos as well as the birria flauntas. Everything was extremely flavorful and delicious. The flauntas were a 100/10 and huge portions for $7.50. I wish I took a photo of the food to show but I devoured everything so fast! Will be back soon to try more items.

Yelp
Great Taco Tuesday deal at this new spot. I would give food quality a B, it was pretty good but some room for improvement. For the prices on a Tuesday night it's a very good value though. They have a nice salsa bar with a range of flavors and spice levels. I enjoyed every salsa I tried, with the darkest of the bunch being a delicious highlight. And yay homemade tortillas! However, the veggie taco was pretty bland and made the tortilla soggy, it immediately fell apart. They should honestly completely reformulate the veggie taco (nopales? just mushrooms?), because the rest of the food was pretty good. Staff was friendly and helpful and I paid $10 for four tacos, which has to be one of the best deals in Brickell. Will def be back on future Tuesdays!

Yelp
Yikes. This was bad. Tortillas were super thick. The meat was dry and bland. It seemed as though nothing had salt. The salsa was so bad. It was like puréed tomato and that's it but even the tomato lacked flavor. This is the salsa that accompanies the tacos not the salsa bar. The spicy salsa at the salsa bar was the only relatively decent thing i tried while there. I had a chicken, a steak and a pastor taco. All dry. All bland. I also had the chicken flautas, they were overcooked making the shell super hard and the chicken again super dry. I would not go back. I hope they get it together or they'll be here today and gone tomorrow. I will say the staff was very friendly and took the order quickly. The place is tiny and not a place i would linger at, has more of a grab and go feel to it.
