Santo Remedio Casona & Cantina - Review - Marylebone - London - The Infatuation

"If you’re in search of a taco that takes you by hand and walks you up memory lane back to that trip to Oaxaca, then move along, Santo Remedio Casona & Cantina isn’t the place for you. That being said, if your dining agenda includes a mezcal margarita on a Saturday night, eating a crisp sashimi tostada after shopping around Marylebone, or giving your catch-up the lipstick and paloma treatment, you’ll be charmed. The dining room is the kind of Suitcase Magazine click-bait we approve of—statement straw lampshades, green, glossy foliage, and a circular booth so large that they could probably secure £4K a month in rent if they popped it on Rightmove. Despite its central London location, it gave us that lived-in neighbourhood feeling, but these neighbours can definitely afford Wolford tights from the high street. The service comes with a complimentary smile and although some things like the flautas are over-sauced and under-seasoned, you’re in safe hands with the fall-off-the-bone barbacoa lamb shank, best paired with soft tortillas and some quality gossip. video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley photo credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Pause Unmute Food Rundown Classic Guacamole Everything you want guacamole to be—a bit smooth, a bit chunky, and packing a whole lot of tomato and jalapeño zing. photo credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Sashimi Grade Tuna Tostadas This is some prime jelly-like yellowfin tuna that deserves its own moment in the spotlight, but it gets elbowed off stage by the chipotle mayonnaise. PlayMute video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Pork Belly Tacos The tortillas are a touch dry but the pork belly is so moist and succulently sweet that any complaints will be forgotten. As will your previous offer to share them. PlayMute video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Slow Cooked Barbacoa Lamb Shank This lamb is rushing for bone emancipation so fast that you only need to give it a polite nudge and the rosy meat is ready to be loaded into the accompanying tortillas. It’s more comforting winter warmer than life-affirming spice show, but if you deem licking salty lamb jus off your wrist as a rollicking good time, get involved. Had a great experience at Santo Remedio! The staff were friendly and the service was decent throughout. I tried the prawn taco and the Mexican Eggs Florentine, both were absolutely delicious, but the Eggs Florentine were my favourite. I also had two virgin cocktails, and both were super tasty and well-balanced. Overall, a lovely spot with good food and a relaxed vibe. Would definitely come back!

I had a fantastic daytime brunch at this Mexican restaurant! The options on the menu are impressive, with a wide variety of delicious food that caters to every taste. The bottomless drinks are a highlight, allowing you to choose your favorites and enjoy them throughout the meal. The service was exceptional—polite and attentive staff made the experience even more enjoyable. And oh, the churros! They are simply divine, melting in your mouth and offering the perfect sweet finish to an already amazing brunch. If you’re looking for a vibrant atmosphere paired with great food and drinks, this is the place to be!

Santo Remedio in Marylebone, you truly delivered! Had an absolute blast brunching with my girlfriend. The prawn tacos were absolute perfection - stunning flavors and freshness. The Royal Family Eggs Benedict was creamy and indulgent, just as it should be. And the cocktail game was strong! Coconut margaritas and Palomas were expertly crafted, with endless options to try. What a fantastic spot for a great time. Highly recommend Santo Remedio for brunch - we'll be back!

Great Mexican-style brunch! Came in for brunch and really enjoyed it. The sourdough guacamole was fresh and flavourful with the perfect crunch. Had the Eggs Royale Mexican style with poached eggs, smoked salmon, and a nice twist from the tangy pickled shallots. Also tried the espresso martini made with tequila, which was smooth, bold, and a fun take on the classic. Great vibe, friendly staff, and a colourful, relaxed setting. One more plus that is rare nowadays dining in London is that I didn’t feel rushed at all, I usually like to take my time especially for brunch, staff were very understanding. Will definitely be back !

Incredible brunch experience! Every dish was bursting with authentic Mexican flavor, from the fresh guacamole to the perfectly cooked tacos. The cocktails were just as good—especially the margaritas, which were the perfect start to the weekend. The atmosphere is relaxed but vibrant, and the staff made us feel so welcome. If you’re looking for something different from the usual brunch spots in London, Santo Remedio is a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back!

Loved this place! They delivered an exceptional dining experience that beautifully balances bold, authentic Mexican flavours with polished London hospitality. We tried most of the menu, and while every dish was beautifully crafted, the prawn tacos were an absolute standout — perfectly cooked, bursting with flavour, and complemented by fresh, zesty toppings. The atmosphere is vibrant yet intimate, making it ideal for both casual dinners and special occasions. What truly elevated the evening, though, was the exquisite service: attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. A fantastic spot I’ll definitely be returning to. Try their spicy Mageritas! But take a day off work the next day. 😂
