Top Date Night Restaurants in South Jersey | Eater Philly

"The ambience at Sapori Trattoria is on point and so is the menu selection. This Collingswood BYOB spot gets rave reviews for its Italian cuisine featuring tempting culinary offerings such as the homemade potato gnocchi in a veal/pork/beef tomato ragu sauce and gramigna with acorn squash, truffle burrata, and speck. Before your main course, order the buffalo milk burrata antipasti to share with your dining partner and accompany it with your favorite BYO wine." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

Google
One of our favorite date night spots. Also just hosted my son’s baptism at Sapori and it was fantastic. Amazing food and service. The owner was extremely helpful and communicated with us leading up to the event on every question we had… highly recommend if you’re looking for a private event space. They allowed us to do an open menu which is extremely rare for high end restaurants hosting a large party size.

Another Great Experience at Sapori Trattoria Once again, Sapori Trattoria delivered an exceptional evening. Not only was the meal outstanding—as always—but we were also treated to some amazing live music by Sebastiano Lombardo, which made the night even more memorable. The combination of delicious food, warm atmosphere, and attentive service keeps us coming back. A truly special spot for a relaxing night out.

Google
Very much enjoyed the price fixed four course meal (appetizer, pasta, main, desert) including anything on the menu. Very pleasant outside seating available. Great food, great service, reasonable prices. Definitely a repeat. BYOB

Oh man. This place undid my taste buds and then reassembled them in Italian bliss. The servers were very personable and seemed to be on a first-name basis with several other folks who I assume are regulars. The courses were out of this world and the ambiance was warm and inviting. It felt like a truer manifestation of Olive Garden’s motto (“When you’re here, you’re family). Certainly more expensive than our usual fare, but worth every penny for special occasions.

Google
Everything about this place was amazing! We were welcomed with a warm greeting at the door and our server was so personable and professional. He was extremely patient with our two young boys as well. Our food was even better from the calamari, to the fettuccine and especially the deserts of the creme brulee and cheesecake. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town.

Google
I proactively looked on my phone for this prompt to write a review. Had a 💯 great time. Can't complain about a thing. We came in for Father's Day from NYC. This was the best food I have had visiting NJ since I can remember. We will be back, most likely every time we come in to see the folks! Grazie!

Google
We were in the area visiting my sister's new apartment, and meeting friends who were passing through. The drive to Sapori was easy, and the neighborhood interesting and quaint, both commercially and the residential side streets. Jersey has lots of BYOB restaurants, and we find them generally superior, as the focus is on delivering an outstanding culinary experience, not selling overpriced drinks. We shared some appetizers, including carpaccio, mussels, and calamari, then had individual entrees. We were stuffed, but the tiramisu sounded too good to pass up, so we got a piece and 4 forks. Satiated!

Google
I recently had my father's 60th here; in total we were a group of 18 people and through all my many questions and reservation adjustments leading up to the party the restaurant was WONDERFUL. They were incredibly accommodating, friendly and helpful. All of the food served over the course of the evening was top notch and they still included dessert even though I had brought my own cake. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning again to try more of their food.

Yelp
Sapori is one of our top five favorite restaurants, period. We make an effort to come every chance we get. We had the Buffalo Mozzarella and Carpaccio de Carne appetizers and Caccuioco and Salmon Farfalle entrees. Delicious and large enough to share. Service was warm and efficient. Ambience is family owned trattoria, warm and friendly. As a BYOB, you can bring the wine of your choice and they will open it for you. Sapori is one of our top three favorite restaurants. Try it!

Yelp
Fantastic dining experience at this authentic charming establishment. The gourmet dishes were infused with creativity and simplistic ingredients. We tried a handful of appetizers and specials, including a breaded mushroom and balsamic reduction dish and a fresh rucola and artichoke salad. The salmone pistachio farfalle exceeded my expectations, and the dessert selection finished the evening off perfectly. Our server was animated and thorough, as well as patient and attentive. To top it all off, we enjoyed a free surprise entertainment as the Sicilian chef's talented son came out and sang Italian melodies to a table nearby!!

Yelp
amazingly perfect calamari for appetizer along with a cheese dish in fig jam. had the lemon veal whi99ch was perfect as well. Our waiter was excellent, answered every question we asked without having to go and get guidance from someone else. The place is very comfortable and intimate.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious byo Italian restaurant in Collingswood that I highly recommend! Service was great, food was delicious and prices were very reasonable. They even have a patio if you prefer to eat outside! We ordered the calamari fritti, Gnocchetti Al Ragu' Di Carne, Fettuccine Ai Gamberi, Salmone Al Pistacchio, Mascarpone Cheesecake and tiramisu. Everything tasted amazing and none of us had any complaints! The gnocchi was especially outstanding and the star of the show. Very heavy pasta! My salmon had great flavors and I loved the mix of pistachio/wasabi/balsamic. Perfect occasion for a date night or celebration! I plan on definitely returning!

Karen P.

Yelp
Something different! The food is always great but we enjoy going for the specials. They change frequently, are always fresh, made to order, unique and delicious. Tonight I had an appetizer of fresh peas, fava beans, panchetta in a chicken broth with a pasta and pesto. Sounds like a lot but it was perfect! If you have not tried this restaurant yet, you def should. Highly recommend!.

Yelp
Delicious Food, Excellent service and relaxing ambiance, Sapori's knows what it takes and provides it all. Always an excellent experience enjoying a meal here. Thank you Franco and team. Keep on doing what you do!

Yelp
Excellent service and delicious food at a BYOB in Collingswood. In a town virtually glutted with Italian BYOBs, this one stood out to me as it offered half-portions of their best dishes. We managed to find a parking spot on the side street, just a block from the restaurant. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The menu was varied and something for every taste, as well as decent prices. We will be back!

Yelp
This is our second time here and each time we have a great experience. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, ambiance is great for a family dinner or date night. Only thing to possibly improve is to warm the table bread before handing it out. Some favorites include the seafood risotto and the fresh calamari appetizer. This past time we got the chocolate soufflé which was to die for, as well as the cheesecake which was also incredible. Very cost reasonable especially given its BYOB. Will definitely be back!

Marissa C.

Yelp
So so good. The cannoli was the best I've ever had! The salmon was a tad over cooked but pistachio encrusting flavor was very good. It's really nice they can make the pasta dishes into entrees or appetizer portions, Would definitely come back.

Andrea A.

Yelp
Disappointing visit. Had a wonderful culinary experience prior. Tonight.the pasta was very under cooked. Every entree proteins especially the seafood were overcooked. Very disappointing experience and not worth the price at all.
google avatar

Yelp
We have been to Sapori multiple times and they never disappoint! From the moment you enter into the restaurant you are greeted with warm smiles and the friendliest staff. They start you with bread and their olive oil mixture, which is extremely good! We ordered the calamari appetizer, which was lightly breaded and very light. For dinner, I ordered the risotto that had shrimp, clams, mussels and calamari. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavor of the dish was very good as well. My boyfriend had fettuccini with shrimp and tomatoes in a rose sauce, which was very good as well. We loved the atmosphere, food, and service! We will be back soon!

Jungeun B.

Yelp
Inside is very loud due to lack of acoustical treatment. Food was just terrible! Pasta with Shrimp was so over cooked, it didn't even tasted like shrimp. Octopus carpaccio was salty and had no taste. Gnocchi was doughy and sauce was meh! The vegetable soup was the only thing that tasted good. We will not be going back.

Mariah S.

Yelp
Food is fresh and delicious. Great ambiance. This is my favorite Italian spot in town and feels the most authentic. Desserts are very tasty as well. Whenever I'm craving a nice Italian meal this is my go to. Great spot to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, etc.

Yelp
Sapori Trattoria is such a special place! Went on a Saturday at 8:00pm and had no wait. The service was extremely friendly and hospitable, making us feel welcome from the time we sat down to the time we left. We ordered the appetizer on special - similar to Brie cheese wrapped with speck - and mussels. I could have drank the broth that the mussels were bathed in. For entrees, we ordered the gnocchi and pasta special - butternut squash, speck, and truffle cheese. Both were delicious! But the star that really shined was the mascarpone cheesecake! I will go back just for dessert and I am the further thing from a dessert person.

Lucille C.

Yelp
We were at Sapori last night for dinner with friends. This restaurant has always been one of our favorites, but unfortunately I was very disappointed with my meal. I ordered Veal with broccoli rabe and small baked potatoes. The meal was very tasty however the Veal was grisly and over cooked! This was a first for us. My husband noticed i was having difficulty cutting the Veal. However I didn't complain because my husband gets very upset when this happens. The service was very good. I imagine we'll be back but I won't order Veal or any other meat again. Hopefully if we decide to try one more time we will have a better experience. If not, it will be our last visit to Sapori.

Yelp
After a long day of driving back from a one-night getaway, I spontaneously dragged my partner here while walking around the Haddon Ave. Crafts and Fine Arts Festival. Although we did not have a reservation, the friendly host (and I believe owner?) found a table for us. My partner was floored -- Sapori has been on his list for a while, but we never went because we thought we needed reservations. There were five specials available and we got one: the squash blossom appetizer. It was supposed to be stuffed with mozzarella and proscuitto, but we only tasted the proscuitto. It was also a bit oily (our guess is either from it being fried in a vat of oil, or from the heat causing the oil in the proscuitto to come out) and salty, but we were still satisfied and the pesto dipping sauce was an absolute winner. I'd buy a jar of that if they sold it in stores. For primi and secondi, we got the casarecce con zucca and scaloppine di vitello. In my pictures, they are half-portions because I split them with my partner, i.e. the portions here are incredibly generous. We both enjoyed the casarecce con zucca; although, warning for the lactose-intolerant: it's VERY cheesy. The scaloppine di vitello was a bit confusing though. The veal was a bit tough and the fig/mushroom/sauce combo (at least for me!) was better on paper than on my plate. All that said, everyone has different tastes and maybe the scaloppine di vitello just wasn't for us! We'll order different dishes the next time we go, but there definitely will be a next time because the service was phenomenal. Specifically, the backservers and runners were on top of things. After taking our order, our server didn't check in on us until he brought the check (which we asked a backserver for) but everyone else was available and so wonderfully helpful. That's not to say the server was bad, just that the "kids" were rockstars!

Yelp
Fantastic meal here the other night. Service was wonderful and very friendly. Didn't rush us at all even though it was getting close to closing time. Food was on another level. Highly recommend

Yelp
Davvero ottimo, sembra di essere in Italia! One of the few restaurants where you really feel like you are in Italy, very good

Yelp
It's been about a decade since my last visit to Sapori. My taste buds have changed and I'd like to think that in addition to becoming older, I've also become wiser. Anyway, let's get to what proved to be an exemplary dining experience. This was my first post COVID dining experience and at the time of this review, NJ restaurants are open for outdoor dining only. Therefore, we were sat in their outdoor enclosed patio area. We started off with the Carpaccio Di Polpo (octopus) as an appetizer - thinly sliced, served in a lemon vinaigrette topped with arugula salad. It was refreshing, flavorful and the perfect dish to start with before indulging in some heartier fare. Next we shared the Fettucine al Ragu di Astice (lobster) - pasta cooked al dente with meaty chunks of Maine lobster in a white wine/light cream sauce - absolutely delicious and perfect to share. Finally came the entrees. I chose the pork cheeks which was the evening special accompanied with risotto - melt-in your mouth, tender and enough to bring home for lunch the next day. My lovely dining partner chose the Scaloppine di Vitello. We both agreed that the veal was the one disappointing part of the meal - not as tender as we like and a bit on the chewy side. We were graciously provided with limoncello to round out our meal. Being extremely full but not wanting to pass up dessert, I ordered a cannoli to go which was the perfect ending to what I considered to be a fantastic dining experience. There's a reason Collingswood is a SJ dining destination and Sapori is part of that reason. Perfect for a date night, a family dinner or any occasion you can think of. If you're craving real Italian food that isn't Americanized, make it a point to come here.

Yelp
Tried this restaurant before going to a Phillies game. Easy to get a reservation. Waitstaff were very friendly and accommodating. But the real star was the food. Both my husband I tried different pasta dishes and they were both outstanding. And the prices were very reasonable I thought. We will definitely be going back.
google avatar

Angela H.

Yelp
I still love Sapori after being a patron for over 10 years. Even back when they offered free limoncello. They have always put a full effort into every dish that they create. I've even gone out of my standard choices to try dishes I wouldn't typically choose and I find them to always be wonderful. When the out of town family come in, I bring them here. During 2020, they have their outside dining available and staff wore gloves with mask. Reservations were easy to come by, but many tables were full. My husband and I dined on the side of the building and found it to have more privacy.

Yelp
Yesterday, we hosted my sister's baby shower on the outdoor patio at Sapori, and it could not have been more perfect! I first reached out in February and worked directly with the owner, Franco, to set up details. Franco was flexible with our needs and so laid-back. As an event planner myself, I wondered if he was too laid-back, but I needn't have worried because everything about the day was exactly as we had discussed. A total pro! Upon arrival, the patio was immaculately arranged and we were able to quickly set up the decorations and flowers. It was a beautiful day but the patio also has really powerful heaters just in case - truly this is an ideal venue for an outdoor event! I dropped off wine the day before and we brought in our own dessert which was great; we appreciated the flexibility to do this as we had specific desserts in mind. Our head server handled all of the little details and really kept the flow. The tables were well stocked with water carafes, bread with oil, and Parmesan. Those little details go a long way with a big group! We started with an antipasto course which was absolutely gorgeous and had everyone at my table excited for what was next. There were five entree choices and each dish looked fantastic! I had the cioppino but couldn't help but steal a few bites of casarecce and gnocchi -- all were excellent! My mom and I had actually stopped by Sapori a few weeks before the shower to discuss some last minute details and have dinner. We had a wonderful meal that night and the food at my sister's baby shower was every bit as delicious. Most importantly, my sister was so happy with her special day. This is all thanks to the wonderful staff at Sapori, who couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. True hospitality professionals. I will be recommending Sapori for special events and look forward to my next meal there!

Yelp
This place is pretty special. Very authentic Italian food with a great Italy vibe. The best part of the meal was dessert. We got the cheesecake and it might have been the best cheesecake I've ever had. Service is great and waiters come around often. I definitely recommend a try.

Joseph P.

Yelp
We have enjoyed this most Italian of venues for the 20 years plus of its existence. The owner and head chef, Franco Lombardo, is very creative and offers the most genuine of Italian food. You can taste the freshness, and for this citizen of Italy, it is like being home. Whether it's quail, or venison, or the delicious special pastas, he will be delighted with the food, and feel like you've taken a tour of Italy, with all the regional favorites right here in Collingswood. The selection of seafood is absolutely fabulous and everything is presented to order and just delicious. Franco himself built the interior of the restaurant and the room is just lovely. This is one restaurant you cannot afford to mess, and you will revisit again and again.
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
I came here for an outdoor shower celebration. The food was FANTASTIC and the service was SUPERB! I felt totally pampered by the staff and felt like they went out of their way to make sure that not only was the food good but also the presentation of each dish was phenomenal. I recommend this restaurant if you ever have any type of larger group event to celebrate.

Judy R.

Yelp
We were a party of 6. Everything we had was delicious! Antipasto, calamari, pasta dishes, desserts. We enjoyed it all. Our server was very nice.

Yelp
Bold and inspiring. If you want to live outside of the box.. this is your place. Coming home after my third visit with a collective view. I've had the wild boar fettucine, veal, swordfish special, rabbit special, etc. Appetizers are nothing shy of nuclear. The Buffalo mozz appetizer is unbelievable. Milky and delicious. Franco really has a great angle on the market and consistently delivers above and beyond. You don't leave here feeling overly salted or unhealthy. The meals all have been seasoned immaculately. It's hands down the best spot in Collingswood and offers food that reminds you of Italy. It's not Italian American food, like many others.. it's unique and long-standing For a Reason.
google avatar

Yelp
Haven't been to this spot in quite some time. Thought we would give it another try since they have a covered outdoor dining option. We were greeted by hostess and sat promptly at our reservation time. The first waiter Sebastiano came over to take drink request and offer specials. He listed without enthusiasm which led us to believe they weren't that "special". Another waitress came over and re ran down the list of specials. We started with the fried calamari , pretty standard appetizer could have afforded some salt. Which on the table was non existent since the salt shaker was a solid mass of salt and none came out when shaken. We also tried the chicken croquette which was decent, different and didn't give off the southern Italian vibe but rather Jersey diner vibe. We also had the salad with the artichokes, olives and capers which was great. We opted for pasta dishes for dinner. I chose the tortellini with pancetta and mushrooms. The dish was good not heavy mushroom flavor which suited me fine. The other person had the pasta with the porcini cream sauce, butternut squash and sausage. The squash was not able to be seen, perhaps unrecognizable. It was just ok. They only finished 1/3 of the dish which led me to believe that they didn't care for it. The third person had pasta mushroom fettuccine. It was underwhelming to say the least. Nothing wowed us and made us want to return. The company was good and the wine was also good because we brought our favorite . We did order dessert 2/3 were ok the one was listed as a cannoli cheesecake . What came out was a Nutella chocolate cheesecake... umm Nutella was never mentioned waiter said "oh we switched it". Aside from that the plate is fully dusted with cocoa power and powdered sugar. Those are not garnishes in that amount was overwhelming to the point one of the guest were coughing from the powder. Not a great end to the meal. 133.00 for the meal. Meh Have to mention the menu is small. There are not a lot of options but if you are a fussy eater this isn't the place for you. If you fancy standard Italian this isn't your option either . Lots of mushrooms in dishes. Not a lot of meat options if you want protein rich dinner . Not Rushing back , sad to say !

Yelp
Great Italian food and the atmosphere was charming. Went pre-concert with friends and all enjoyed it!

Yelp
First time back to Sapori's in several years. The food is still very good and the setting is rustic and casual. Sapori's is one of the better of many Italian choices in Collingswood, Haddon Twp. and Haddonfield. The menu is varied and they have some interesting specials. Service was very good all evening. This restaurant is popular so make a reservation. That have an outdoor eating area also during nicer weather. A little bit on the moderate/pricey side but not when considering the quality of food.

Karen W.

Yelp
Food was good but sat at 7:20 and dinner came out at 8:30. Place was pretty slow for a Friday too. No real apology or explanation. Was not impressed. 2 entrees and 2 ice teas $101 with tip. All other tables got a complimentary dessert liquore type drink but we were never offered. I would have liked to try dessert but it was so late and we had been sitting there so long I couldn't be bothered. Really wanted it to be better!
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
Amazing family-run restaurant with wonderful variety of Italian treats. The salumi board contained some of the best meats & starters I've had at an Italian restaurant. Desserts are incredible and the tiramisu may be the best I've ever had. Would happily return again. Two thumbs up.

Yelp
Sapori, Sapori, Sapori, I APPRECIATE YOU! We've been coming to Sapori for years. Date nights, girl nights, work dinners- always a great time. The environment is cozy with lots of detail to the decor. The staff is always extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Over the years, we've tried so many things and I honestly cant say I've had anything bad. What stands out most is the Portobello in goat cheese as well as the INSALATA DI FICHI E PERE. For entrees, you HAVE to get the Bronzino. SO fresh, so delicious. My husband gets a variety of things while we are here and he always enjoys his meals. Sapori is a Collingswood must!
google avatar

Nick C.

Yelp
This was our first time at Sapori after it had been recommended by several friends. The staff and ambience were excellent but the crown jewel of our visit was the food itself. Everything we ate was incredible, culminating in the pistachio panna cotta that I am still thinking about. We are very lucky to live literally down the street from here and will definitely be back again and again.
google avatar

Jasmine D.

Yelp
This place is incredible from start to finish! We were searching all day for delicious Italian food and found them online, needless to say we will definitely be coming back. We started off with the "Insalata di fiche e pere", arugula with Gorgonzola, spiced pears, dried figs and walnuts - so delicious. My husband had the calamari which he thoroughly enjoyed. For our second course, I had the Tortellini alla boscaiola which I'm honestly thinking about doing a pick up order for tonight - omg incredible! He had the Gnocchetti al ragu' di carne with the Maiale Alle Mele we couldn't finish everything and I can't wait to raid the fudge this morning. I also took home an order of cannolis which didn't last through the night. I nearly ate both of them. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone who will listen - and it's only 15 minutes from the city, with BYOB!

Yelp
Sapori was great! We were miraculously able to get a table at Sapori last minute on a busy night after another restaurant botched our reservation. The hostess was wonderfully accommodating and our waiter, Bryan, was attentive and helpful with menu selection. The ambiance was bright, warm and comfortable. The food was amazing! Insalata di fichi , pollo al funghi, orata filleted at the table, tiramisu and pannacotta - all delicious! Thank you for an excellent dining experience.

C P.

Yelp
The ambiance of this restaurant is perfect for a small gathering. I had an amazing experience at this restaurant as the staff was extremely friendly and the service was great. Exceeded my expectations as well as had a great selection of dishes on their menu. I can confidently say this is the best pasta dish I've had from a restaurant and the rest of my party can agree on their dishes as well. 10/10 would recommend this restaurant!

Karen M.

Yelp
What a great place. Food outstanding. James gave great recommendation and amazing service. Owner stopped at table and shared his story. Thank you for a great night.

Yelp
Food was bomb. Went with friends and planned to try everything together- do not regret! Had calamari and a pork belly special appetizer. Bomb. Had half-size pastas of a special with swordfish and Shrimp + the Casarecce pasta. Bomb. Then we each got an entree and divided it up by four for the table. Steak, Veal, Pork Chop (special), and Red Snapper. All extremely tasty. Ended the meal with delicious tiramisu and creme brûlée with espresso. Will definitely come back! Great food and great service! Loved our waitress, Nikki! She was dope.
google avatar

Wendy M.

Yelp
The food, the atmosphere, the staff are all exceptional. Have been twice and have tried all different dishes each visit. Will likely return sooner than later to try even more.

Yelp
Had takeout recently. Red snapper with mussels, clams and calamari over risotto was excellent.

Yelp
Excellent food and great service! Enjoyed everything we got as a party of 7. We loved going there after an art opening at Powell Lane Arts.

Yelp
Five for the number of appetizers ordered Five for the people in my party Five for the amount of employees who doted on us Five for night of my 53rd birthday (artistic license..) And.... Five for an amazing gastronomic adventure in the wilds of Collingswood, NJ! This urban bistro landed here in a effort to further the continued efforts revitalization of a previously deprived area. The Sicilian owner obviously takes pride in this Italian creation. The service was attentive, the food well crafted and creative with just enough of the 'traditional standards' to please the roughian masses. In short, very worth it! PS - BYOB....

Yelp
It saddens me to write this review because we had such high hopes for this place. Came here during restaurant week and did the $50 for one of each course. Place was packed when we got there so we were excited since that usually is an indicator that the food is good. We started with the carpaccio de carne and the mushroom with goat cheese. The mushroom was very good but the carpaccio had way too much oil on it. I had to wipe it off the steak just to taste the steak (which was good) but the oil overpowered everything. We then got the risotto and mushroom pasta. The mushroom pasta was very good but heavy. The seafood risotto was not. It was undercooked rice in a very fishy tasting red sauce. Coming from a seafood lover, the fishy taste was very overpowering. For the third course we got the veal in Demi glaze which basically tasted like veal Marsala and the veal was very breaded. We also got the pork medallions which were nothing to write home about. For someone who hates salt, I had to put salt on everything! The star of the meal was the desserts - tiramisu and the cheesecake. Both very good. My fiancé never makes it to dessert from being too full and she actually finished it since the courses before weren't good. I'm hoping it was just an off night but not somewhere I'd visit again.

Marie B.

Yelp
This is the best authentic Italian restaurant we've been to in along time. we probably will visit weekly. we just loved talking to Franco and the food was awesome. Marie Baruffi

Yelp
Food was OK. The calamari was underwhelming. The homemade fettuccine was good with the imported porcini mushrooms. My husband had the gnocchi which was good. The cheesecake and tiramisu was the best part of the meal.

Yelp
Sapori's sat patiently on my bookmarks list since early 2013. It watched as every other restaurant before it was unchecked and reviewed. Still, it held steadfast to the belief that it'd one day be able to prove its worth in the Collingswood dining scene...and it finally got its chance. I booked a month in advance for my birthday dinner on Monday evening. This was probably unnecessary but I was a little overeager. After last year's horrific dinner at a "renowned" restaurant in the city, I was determined to celebrate getting old with a good meal. Sapori's certainly delivered! My party of four was seated in the left dining area. It was cozy and semi-private, since most other parties were on the right side. We began with fresh bread and sweet potato-something dip. I'm not a sweet potato person at all, but this dip was outstanding. Look past the interesting texture and try it! For our starter dish, I chose the Carpaccio di Carne. My family wasn't too keen on the idea of the dish (they stated they "like their cow hot and cooked") but I thought it was INCREDIBLE. Think thinly cured filet mignon under a rucola salad adorned with shavings of sharp cheese. My grandmother ate some salad..and I made sure no sliver of meat or cheese was left behind. For my main, I spent a looong time (days in advance, actually) deciding. Finally, I went with their stuffed chicken. That may sound basic, but it really wasn't at all. The chicken thigh was stuffed with a bunch of fun stuff (cantuccini, butternut squash, provolone, sage, pancetta, and scallions) and served in a zesty lemon sauce. Delicious! It was paired with spinach and red beets. I wasn't a fan of the beets personally, but the spinach complemented the dish nicely. Of course it wouldn't be a birthday without dessert, so my mom and grandmom chose creme brulee and my cousin and I opted for tiramisu. Now, I've been to Italy several times -- most recently last month -- where I've gorged myself on many a tiramisu. But this one was divine. I don't even use that word, but seriously -- SO good! You must try it. You may feel like you're back in the Old Country! Sigh! Love, love love. Dare I say it rivaled the ones I've had from my family in Italy? Sapori's is a great option in Collingswood for a special occasion or any other reason. I look forward to many return visits!

Yelp
What a elegant night out! Truly attentive and informed waitstaff. It's a quaint little BYOB. The service was impeccable. Very easy and unhurried. The food was perfectly prepared. Not over spiced but a good hint of flavor. The desserts made in house were mind blowing. Can't wait to go again. Definitely a repeat place to eat.... On my list.
