SaQua by Il Frantoio

We had a delicious dinner at SaQua on a thursday evening. Altough the restaurant had many more seating options, it was half full. Great selection of wine, menu is very creative. Over the dishes were all good. Enjoy the seaview from the terrace.

The SaQua is a jewel for anyone looking for a fine dining experience in Tuscany. Modern interpretations of Italian cuisine, fantastically balanced. The interior is spacious and elegant, dominated by warm earthy tones. Simple and tasteful. The terrace offers a spectacular view over the countryside to the sea. It would be worth a visit for that alone. But the star of the evening is definitely the menu by Chef Simone. A feel-good journey through the culinary world. Not provocative, but rather very elegant comfort food. Wine accompaniment - also always top. The service is extremely helpful and very attentive - on every one of our visits. The tasting menu is actually far too cheap for what is on offer.

Superb setting in Tuscany. Very helpful and friendly staff, fantastic service throughout the evening. My vegan menu was varied and delicious. Not my usual haunt but if you want to treat yourself or others this is a wonderful place to do this. Heartily recommended!

Had a wonderful meal here yesterday - exquisite food, excellent service, and the best bread we've eaten in Tuscany. We had the Blu di bufala (Buffalo blue cheese) and Trancetto di baccalà (Cod with citrus fruits and puntarelle) starters followed by the Fagottelli di fonduta (cheese fondue ravioli with black truffle), the Spaghetti with octopus chorizo and the roasted endive (Indivia arrosto) mains - all were absolutely wonderful. The ravioli were outstanding and are a 'can't miss' if you do visit. Can't wait to go back when the outdoor terrace is open, as the views of Montescudaio and the coast are spectacular. A great place to go for a special occasion, or just to treat yourself or someone special. You deserve it!

Best restaurant in the region - absolutely fantastic! Simone‘s locally rooted but innovative creations are a delight, and the tasting menu is highly recommended!

Absolutely overrated. Remember that we are in tuscany so the benchmark should be high. I had a tartare as an appetizer which was just ok, and a filet made with whisky and foje gras (served only medium, no option to change anything). Honestly there are so many better options anywhere around here. No complaints about the location, but not enough.
