I have known this restaurant for many years and went through It’s various iterations. Sadly, creativity has gone rogue, and not one dish that we ordered. Yesterday was remotely acceptable. The sushi’s were less than average, the sashimi bowl was not good and barely fresh, and the worst was the Beef supposedly in a stroganoff sauce, which was way too liquid and completely tasteless. I was Franck in my comments when the owner came to ask me for my feedback. She did not take it well. Her response was.” I guess we have 18 people working for nothing here”. I just feel that Restaurant that was a jewel on the Normandy coast in that part of the country has gone down the drain and it suddenly not the visit. Despite my comment, the Chef did not even bother to come and discuss them, which shows probably a level of tiredness that would suggest changing venue or career. Too many French restaurants near on their reputation and this one is yet another major example I will never come back and I strongly encourage visitors to check the competition. It shouldn’t be too difficult to find something better even if it sounds more traditional,or less creative. Again, creativity is only truly good when it’s good. Not when it is either average or tasteless. Desserts were OK and Service was very pleasant but you don’t go to a restaurant just to be nicely served
Just read the incredibly personal aggressive answer from the chef. Amazing that he cannot take the concept that his talent may have gone down the drain and blame it on our drinking two bottles of wine. It is now Sunday and i am totally sober but pissed off when i read this. You sir forgot what sushis are like and certainly never tried beef stroganoff. I did not try to hurt your paranoia. I tried to protect future victims ofa blowed up Reputation you rightly earned ten years ago but now betray. You both look sad and bored and should seriously consider a radical change. You have my name and number. Happy to elaborate at your convenience but your reaction is just pitiful. Have a good week
Two last points. I chose to write because of your wife s aggressive response. She could have said what you wrote and be somewhat apologetic. Instead she
Launchwd into a speech about “i guess we have 18 people here who have no use”. What a stupid answer. I own restaurants and would fire any idiot that would forget that clients are at least never wrong if not always right. And tour answer…! Sad
Finally i wrote my initial review this sunday morning not after the dinner where we has not aperitifs at all. But your response as a chef and restaurant owner is unacceptable. I do feel sorry for you
Bon courage
