Saraga Is the International Grocery Store of My Dreams | Bon Appétit

"Saraga International Grocery, a massive supermarket on the outskirts of Columbus, Ohio, is located in a former Toys “R” Us. Each time I visit, I tell myself it’s only for the now-famous Nepali dumplings sold out of a tiny food stall tucked inside. But Saraga, like any great ethnic grocery or toy store, encourages long, joyous detours." - ByZahir Janmohamed

This is a great international grocery. There are various items including Asian snacks and beverages, fresh vegetables, seafood and meat, and many household goods. I can find anything that I need here. The price is reasonable. There are also an American-style bakery, restaurants, and a phone store at this plaza. The room is kind of small and packed and WiFi is not available.

“A great place to shop for international cuisines and grocery items! You’ll find vegetables and fruits that remind you of home—whether from Africa, Asia, or the Americas. They have a wide variety of options to meet international needs, and there’s even a bakery

There's a bakery in the corner that's amazing, and I like seeing the different cultures stuff. I would say if could use some cleanup and declutter though.

Google
There is a little bit of everything here. If you are looking for American type things I do not recommend. The prices are significantly higher than the average supermarket. This rating is only for people that are looking for foods that are normally not found in American supermarkets. However, if you are looking for foreign foods then this is most likely your best bet. Doesn't matter what it is. There's everything from Asian, to Spanish, Middle Eastern, Africa, Europe, and more. Chances are if you do not find it here you may not be able to find it anywhere in Columbus or the surrounding cities.

This place is like an amusement park! You need a full day to really see everything. Wonderful place to find high quality diverse produce. All kinds of high potency vegetables and fruits. It’s like a healthy big box store! (Shhhh…There’s also sweets! Just sayin ❤️)

I love coming to Saraga's. You can get whatever you want from all over the world. I love that they have a Halal Meat Butcher shop on the premises. But the hidden gem is their Bakery. There are a variety of goodies.

I bought a Labubu from this store yesterday, and I’m extremely upset. This is clearly a counterfeit product. It has no brow bone, the nose color is completely wrong, and it smells strongly of cheap, recycled plastic. I’ve never bought a Labubu before, but even I can tell this is fake. Selling fake items like this is unacceptable and dishonest. I feel completely misled and regret shopping here. I’ve also attached a comparison photo between the fake I received and a genuine Labubu — the differences are obvious. Buyers, beware.

Wonderful international store in Columbus. Many countries are represented. So many varieties.

Yelp
AWESOME market!!! I just took a trip around the world, without leaving Columbus!! One of the most WONDERFUL bonuses of life in Columbus is its amazingly surprising diversity, and markets like Saraga provide TONS of everyday and exotic products from near and far!! Asia, Africa, Latin America... If you can't find it here, it probably doesn't exist. I've passed this market dozens of times, but only today decided to go in and browse. Tons of stuff, including a Mexican restaurant and bakery, a huge variety of produce, and every spice, sauce, meat, fish, frozen delicacy, etc. you could possibly imagine!! I even got my eyebrows threaded!! Columbus, I've said it before, and I'll say it again... Your diversity is your strength, and markets large and small are a wonderful resource. Check 'em out!!!

Yelp
This place is great! It is one of my favorite groceries in the city. There is so much more packed in here than a grocery. Plenty of parking available, but it can be slightly difficult getting in and out from Morse Road. Luckily there is a light but that parking lot can be a bit challenging at times. Today's visit was mainly for some desserts from Panaderia Mi Pueblo (Mexican bakery) but you just havelook around while you are here as well. You never know what you will find, that you never knew you needed, unless you take a look around and explore. I tend to go for specific items for recipes, to look around, or visit the bakery. This trip, I picked up some two separate types of cake, a few cookies, and some chocolate cupcakes with cream filling. It was a score and can't wait to dig into them after I finish this review. In addition to the fresh produce and seafood, there is also butcher. You can shop products from around the world, and from several regions including: - Asia - Central Asia - East Asia - China - South America - Mexico - Europe - and Africa, to name a few. The Isles are labeled by region, but I find myself looking in one area, and actually being in another (example fish oil). At Saraga, there are also mini shops inside the grocery. You can stop by the bar for a drink, purchase clothing and jewelry at some of the shops, or you can have your eyebrows threading, stop by the beauty shop, purchase household items, or buy/or repair a phone at the mobile phone store. The Morse Road location has so much to offer and explore. I definitely recommend checking it out. Personally, the produce section, finding special ingredients for cooking, and the bakery keep me coming back.

Yelp
S A R A G A A truly international grocery - very impressive goods so you can create dishes from anywhere around the world. We were shopping mainly for Vietnamese goods and they had everything from fresh herbs through pho noodles and fish sauce. Wonderful to see fellow shoppers from all cultures procuring their desired goods. Will look forward to exploring more in the future.

Yelp
We live about 30 min away and come here about once a month to get supplies for cooking authentic Dominican meals. The store is amazing it's huge you can find most any spice a plethora of produce . We thankfully found it on accident looking for a different market, what luck!

Yelp
This market is everything and then some! From excotic produce to culturally diverse foods from all over the world, if you haven't visited Saraga, then make it a point to go. Heck, even if you just purchased groceries yesterday, you are bound to find something new-to-you to try. My first time ever visiting I arrived specifically to try Momo Ghar for the first time (before they were in the North Market). Holy cow, was that experience life changing! There was a little wait to eat so my friend and I explored throughout the store and it was exhilarating. While that was years ago, I visited again over the weekend to grab some plantains and other items for a Venezuelan dish I was attempting to make. While it's obviously a little different now due to COVID, the excitement was the same. While the aisles may be crowded and the shelfs a little disorganized, but it's filled with so much! Might I add that everything here is fairly cheap. The prices are insane, especially for produce. I'm definitely going to make it a point to shop here more often.

Yelp
I love coming to this store! Every visit is a like a new adventure. There've been so many times I've visited and found myself wandering every aisle, exploring all of the culinary options on display. Walking through the front doors of Saraga you're immediately struck with how large the produce selection is, with half an aisle dedicated to dried chillies from different parts of the world. Along the back of the store is an extensive meat section, and in the back corner they have fresh fish, still swimming in their aquarium. There have been numerous times that I've needed a specific ingredient that I couldn't find at the regular grocery. I always end up coming here, because I know Saraga will have it! Moroccan harissa sauce? They've got it. Palestinian-made pomegranate molasses? They have that too. Frozen, pre-packaged ajiaco soup ingredients from Colombia? You guessed it! Got it! The fact is, I have never came here looking for an item and walked away disappointed. Saraga has such a huge range of products from all over the world, you'd be hard pressed to find a better international grocery selection in Columbus.

Yelp
I freaking love this place and I think it needs our celebration and support. I have visited this place many times, but after yesterday's experience, I wanted to shout my appreciation from the rooftops. First, it is one of the most eclectic places in the area. If you are looking for a specific item for a dish, you will likely find it here. Every section of the store is labeled by region/culture, which makes it fairly easy to find what one is looking for. It is very packed from produce to frozen goods, so it can be a congested navigation at times. But, I do appreciate accessibility to items that one cannot find at your local Kroger (including Goya empanada wrappers, which you can find in ANY grocery store in Jersey, but in these parts they are somehow an anomaly?) Yesterday, I picked up buns to make steamed bao buns (and I also picked up gyoza, scallion pancakes, and spicy Mayo). What I appreciate about this store, is it makes trying new cuisines easy. We've made bao dough from scratch and it is a pain- the frozen section at Saraga seriously opens doors. I will say, the prices aren't always cheaper than the grocery store. The confinements are a little pricier, but the store makes up for it with variety. The produce prices, however, are amazing and incomparable. Finally, don't pass on the little bakery that is amazing on the way out. They have a ton of unique and well-priced baked goods (including a jalapeño cheese bread). The do take credit card and they have a $3 minimum (the bakery is a separate entity).

Yelp
Very cool place and so much merch. Wow. Just about anything you can think of from Korean, Japanese, Hispanic foods from Brazil, Argentina. Mediterranean foods. Lots and Lots. Much cleaner than other International Markets and very very busy but well stocked and kept as clean as they are able for the amount of people that are going through there constantly.

Yelp
Wow!! I can't believe I haven't been here before. The produce section is huge and a rainbow of colors filled with beautiful, fresh, and exotic produce that you can't find anywhere else. Aisles of spices! Bakery for days. If you need things out of the ordinary that you can't find in your neighborhood grocery- there is a good chance you will find it here- Quail eggs, banana leaves, cactus paddles, durian, sugar cane stalks, etc.... Around the perimeter of the grocery store you can find food counters with Korean, Mexican, and Nepalese foods. This grocery store is a great find and a wonderful place to stop if you are interested in trying something new and different. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I had planned on visiting this grocery for a year now and finally made it this evening! I came around 7:15 ish on a Friday and there were a good number of people shopping here. Very diverse set of customers! I love it! I walked around a bit with my sisters and they definitely had a lot of food! Aisles are categorized by regions of the world to make it easy to find stuff. Some of the aisles seemed a bit tight. The space is even more cramped if you have a cart. We didn't buy anything but visited Momo Ghar and Los Tizoncitos instead. Still, I'd love to come back and buy snacks and such. The products for each region seemed pretty extensive, except for Africa... maybe because there are already a ton of groceries for them? Anyway, I love that they have this here! It's refreshing. The parking lot isn't super huge but we had no trouble finding a spot. There's a halal food truck that's outside of Saraga that seems good! I'll have to try it!

Yelp
Nice selection of international groceries. Not as many Chinese selections, which was what I came here for, but lots of other selections. I would recommend this place!

Yelp
I come to Saraga once a week because they have everything I like to eat lol. You can walk down every aisle and be in a new country each time. This store is stocked with a variety of imports from Asia, Africa, Europe, Caribbean and South America. They have an amazing seafood and meat counter with just about anything you can imagine. I usually buy their salmon steaks, oxtail and goat but anticipate to soon venture and cook their variety of snappers and etc. The store is fully stocked on veggies and fruits from all over the world. They even have a few restaurants where you can sit and dine, whether you're hungry for Nepalese dumpling dish, Mexican colossal dessert or authentic Korean fried chicken. I highly recommend coming here to add some spice n flair to your dishes!
google avatar

Tom H.

Yelp
Wow! Here's all those items from Food Network. It's a learning experience with all different food resources available to you. I would think prices would be higher for these international foods to be shipped in, although there is limited availability to compare. Pretty inexpensive pricing. Fresh produce, and rows of pantry items shelved. The wall spaces that surround all this, is made up of independent business kiosks. Butcher, baker, restaurants, hair services, cell phones, and cash for gold. A section of specialty international kitchen cookware or dining utensils. It always feels like a class field trip. Shoppers are usually friendly and eager to offer cooking tips. Language barriers aside.

Yelp
They are always a must when doing grocery shopping in cbus!!! The bakery is AMAZING. I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I go into the bakery. There are so many baked goods that I seriously cannot figure out what I want. They are very reasonably priced as well! If you are looking for Mexican desserts, this is the place to go. Trust me you will not be disappointed. I go all the time and always get something new. Plz plz plz try this place out!!!!

Yelp
Pretty good I go shopping here a lot for my groceries so it's my favorite place to shop for food.

Yelp
This is a smorgasbord of food delicacies from all over the world. I could just browse the aisles here for hours. You will literally find anything you need for any kind of ethnic cooking. There is so much variety it can actually be a little overwhelming. Around the perimeter of the store they have all kinds of independent businesses like Momo Ghar, a Chinese food place, a gold jewelry store, cell phone store and a bakery with the most gorgeous (and huge) pastries. They also have meat and seafood counters. I love the snack aisles and the latin american foods aisle for frozen plantains, tostones, empanadas and croquettes. A true culinary adventure!

Yelp
This market was by far the most diverse place I've ever been to. We decided to go on a Saturday afternoon, which was not a very good choice. The store was so busy and the checkout lines blocked some of the aisles. The amount of discoveries to be made was partially overwhelming. It was hard to narrow down things to try, because we didn't want to spend too much. We spent nearly two hours there just walking around. I wish I was more knowledgeable so I could tell what certain things were, then maybe we would've gotten more things. We saw the little bakery on our way out and got some cake as well, but it was just okay in my opinion. I definitely want to come back, but maybe during a less busy time.
google avatar

Robert Z.

Yelp
Walking in you would probably not think the most of this cluttered looking grocery store. It opens up to the produce section, which is quite vast in my opinion. There's lots of variety from all types of cuisines and changes quite a bit with the seasons. I've seen many fruits and vegetables I've never tried before and actually have no idea how to even eat. I'll have to learn and explore some more each time I see something interesting. Besides the produce section the aisles are split up by various countries and regions. They have aisles for Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Mexico, and that's just the beginning. They definitely have a lean for Asian goods but don't discount their other international aisles. I've found some nice things here and there, my most recent memory being heinz beans from the UK. Don't judge but literally part of my favorite breakfasts, full English. If you are looking for any sort of specific ingredient that wouldn't be at a Kroger, this is a good bet for being able to find it. Its definitely one of my go to grocery stores when I'm feeling like being more creative than my normal dinners. Or if you just like exploring and seeing food from other cultures, drop by and see what you can find! Honestly, its a but like a treasure hunt at times.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite grocery stores in Columbus. There are foods and house hold items from all over the world. They even label the different countries for you. You first walk in and see all of the produce, which may blow your mind because there may be produce that you have never seen before. Now a warning; it may look unorganized and a little on the messy/dirty side, but I never minded it. That's what I grew up with as I went to the Asian grocery stores with my family. You then hit the frozen / refrigerated food items. They have things like fresh noodles, kimchi, dumplings, frozen sea food, etc. Then they also have fresh meat and seafood. You have fish laying out on ice baths or sometimes even blue crabs just in a box on the floor for you to pick out! They offer pre packaged meat also; refrigerated or frozen. What I appreciate is that they have things such as pork belly and other meats that are thinly cut or sliced instead of a big chunk of meat as you may get at a typical grocery store. This makes it convenient for things such as Korean bbq or hot pot and soups. In the middle of all that are your different countries' food items. Anything you want or need or didn't realize you wanted are all there. My favorite are the ramen and snack aisles. I have gotten things from Korean Pocky sticks to Takis. The employees are so diverse and fast! You may bump into an employee whose second language is English so don't get offended if someone may not fully understand what you ask them! :) Love this store.

Yelp
This is a fun store. It seemed to be dominated by Asian ingredients from India to SE Asia. Some African items as well. They had beautiful large prawns in the seafood case. They had quite a wide variety of meats, seafood and poultry. They also have a halal butcher counter on site. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was hard to maintain social distancing. I'd like to go back when it's no as crowded.

Yelp
Saraga is one of my go to Grocery Stores in Columbus. It's the first International Grocery Store I have been to and the only one that I currently go to. I didn't even know it wasI got a job some time ago close by. But im so glad that I happened to discover this place. When you first walk in you enter directly into the produce section. Full of very fresh fruits and vegetables. You can find basically anything you need for your normal recipes or your international recipes that require specific ingredients that you can find at your normal grocery store. On top of that everything is really cheap. I was astounded at the prices the first couple of times i came here. But everything is fresh so there is no drop off in quality. As you go through the store you see that all the isles are coordinated by countries or continents. Like North America, Asia, South American, and so on. It makes finding things easier. And you will find things you never even thought of. Like really good ramen, Japanese treats, Mexican cooking spices. THis place will absolutely open up the possibilities in your recipes if you are a cook that likes to try new things. My favorite section is the meat/seafood section. You get to see their nice selection of fresh seafood with live catfish swimming under the counter, and the meat section right next to it has a nice selection of Mexican/South American meats to choose from. I get the Chorizo and Skirt Steak alot when i make tacos. They do have another meat section to the right for what I believe is Halal meat (I could be wrong, i'm sorry if i am, but i think thats what its called!) But they have a lot of goat products and stuff down there. One of the biggest Pluses about Saraga is it is the home of Momo Ghar. Which is one of Columbus's best food spots. It's really small and right next to the meat section. But boy is the food good. Upon leaving the store make sure to check out the bakery. It is accessible after checking out. There are alot of good latin bakery items and treats. It is always really tempting with the smell

Yelp
Back in Los Angeles, there are small markets all over town, each specializing in different cultures such as Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Indian, to name a few. I was surprised and delighted to find Saraga, which had ALL of these cultures in ONE huge store! We visited over the holidays as we wanted to try Momo Ghar, the nepal dumpling stand that is all the rage right now in Columbus. There are a handful of food stands inside the grocery store, such as a Korean eatery and Mexican bakery. The grocery aisles are very clearly marked, naming off which country or region the food is from. We spotted: Chinese, Mexican, Indian and more. I ended up buying a package of Hakka-style noodles from Taiwan and Chinese barbeque sauce (which is more like a chili paste) which is made in Los Angeles.

Yelp
I actually drove past this place several times before I ever knew it existed and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to explore it. No matter what you need, when it comes to international foodstuffs, this place has it. From chestnuts (that I needed for chestnut rice) to plantains (that were just too pretty to pass up and made me instantly think of tostones) they've got everything covered. The meat department is incredibly well-stocked. On my first walk through of the store I noted everything from duck breast and chicken thighs to a completely separate and self-contained Halal butchery with some of the most gorgeous ground lamb in the city. I could spend hours in the produce department alone- the variety of capsicum and leafy greens, the fruits, they even have raw olives (that I'd been trying to source online since Covid shut the city down initially)- no matter where your eye is drawn, you will see something vibrant to look at. My only complaint is that they are popular! The aisles are always packed with people, making social distancing difficult (but not impossible) and lazy browsing even harder. Saraga has worked its way into my rotation of weekly shopping stops.
google avatar

Amy J.

Yelp
Every aisle is a different region- European, Asian, Indian, etc. Large Target-sized store with all of the international staples (fresh, frozen, canned, houseware and cookware) you can easily find under one roof at reasonable prices. They also have Salvadoran, Tibetan/Nepalese, Indian, and other mini restaurants under the same roof! Brightly light and clean. Wide aisles.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Such a wonderful store. Incredible selection of food! Very impressed and glad there is security inside and outside.

Yelp
Saraga is my favorite place to drop $50. Before CAM (Columbus Asian Market) basically moved outside the beltway (and we lived in the NW part of CBus) I would go there for the harder to find at 'regular' grocery store items. I 100 percent agree that you should check expiration dates at Saraga. But honestly, this is something I do at any grocery store. Things get missed and sometimes are up for sale way longer than they should be. (Most recently I saw some fresh noodles with an expiration date that was a couple months past). What's cool though, is because Saraga is so large there was another section where I was able to find non expired ramen noodles (without a soup base). So even though the noodles I wanted were expired, I didn't have to leave empty handed. I did however leave with more than I had intended to purchase. But can you really go into such a great market and leave with only the two items you came to purchase? Hah! Maybe you are able to but I surely can not. The sheer number and variety of potstickers/gyoza/dumplings is wild! Make sure you wonder around a bit before you grab a bag! They're separated into type based on the country. For example the Chinese ones, etc are usually together. I love that I can get large tins of my favorite sesame seed oil and tamari here. None of that tiny container size you find at the standard grocery stores. P.S. There are many delicious things that make Saraga a wonderful place to visit. You never know what candy, spice, dessert, tea, fruit or vegetable you might just fall in love with.
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
Incredible selection- if you're looking for nearly any obscure ingredient, you can find it here at a great price. HUGE selection of hot peppers and mushrooms in produce, and nearly every meat cut (or animal part) you can imagine. Why the 3 stars then? Overall the place is not clean and the extremely narrow aisles make maintaining appropriate distance very difficult. Entering through the produce section gets very backed up as there's no space to pass the other shoppers perusing the vegetables stocked in the first aisle. Many of the coolers had evidence of old spills that were never cleaned up as well. Overall a great place for selection, though sanitation is questionable.

Ural B.

Yelp
My favorite store, nice European sections with lots of stuff i like.I hope they will have some fresh live fish again.
google avatar

Dani W.

Yelp
I try to go here at least once a month, mostly for snack reasons. I can find the snacks I like to order from amazon or get at world market for sometimes half the price. The aisles are sorted by country/region and you can find a lot of fun foods that you won't find in your regular grocery stores international aisle. I'm always able to find random spices I need that I never find anywhere else. They also almost always have duck, which is something that can be challenging to find elsewhere. If you've been wanting to make a recipe but are having trouble finding it at your store, you might have luck here. The seafood display looks kind of sketchy though. I don't eat seafood so I can't really say if the quality is better than it appears.

Yelp
I feel like a girl that is late to the party. I had no idea about Saraga International Grocery until Monday night when I was lucky enough to cook an authentic Venezuelan dinner with Mariangela, the owner of the porch. She suggested Saraga as a great place to pick up some great plantains. I knew right then that I needed to seek Saraga out. So the next day after work I drove over to Morse Road to check Saraga out for myself. I immediately realized that the COVID precautions being taken there were going to be very loose at best. I had to choose a cart that was just haphazardly parked outside and was definitely not sanitized, but if you can accept that and wear a mask you can snake through the store in basically a single file line. I choose to proceed and wear my mask. The moment you enter the store you are surrounded by grocery items. You first encounter all the produce. Which was convenient for me because that was the original reason I was there. Not only did I find the most amazing plantains for the best price ever, $0.79 each. They had both yellow and green plantains that were large and fresh looking. They also had rarely seen produce such as Rambutan, baby bok choy, Quenepa, Bengali Squash, Opo Squash, figs, incredibly large Jackfruit, and Starfruit. After meandering through the produce department, the aisles are separated by regions such as Central America, India, Asia, etc. There were so many items that I was unfamiliar with but I loved taking my time in each aisle and just looking at everything that was being offered. As I went through the store I made a mental note that in the future when I am making a more ethnic dish at home I am going to shop for the rarely used by me items at Saraga. I was so happy to have found this grocery store treasure.
google avatar

Annette C.

Yelp
I struggle to write about this grocery store. It is very crowded with no mask enforcement. It is not a clean place. It is not well organized. But it is a place with many products you can't buy anywhere else locally. I usually go to the CAM International Market which is rigorously clean and spacious, that is where I will return. I just don't like poor food handling practices and out dated food in a grocery store. For example, there is a bread shop that reminds me of Mexican bread shops; wonderful right? Well... The trays and tongs used to select the bread you want to buy are not cleaned between people. They are not only covered with germs but they are visibly filthy. There is not even a cursory nod to cleaning between uses. Sickening. I picked up some cherry tomatoes in the produce area, moldy and crushed. On the other hand the selection of hot peppers is widely varied and fresh. I gave them stars for selection, if you can get your international ingredients somewhere else you probably should.

Yelp
Great place to shop. Authentic International super market. I spent around $290.00 in this awesome store. My reason to do so, is because to collect things for the winter. I hope no big storm happens, but this is the flat lands. I am well knowledgeable about the winters from October to May in Columbus Ohio. One winter we got our hot water system close down to a breaking. Plus i am trying to lose weight, i have to eat more wiser and have super discipline. I tell you one thing, this store has a lot of corn beef in a can, pretty much in every aisle of the store and even on top the low open refrigerators. I got a lot of things at a good price, even though most items was import. The total price for all my food was very reasonable. I think it could last me over one and a half months.
google avatar

Nadine S.

Yelp
Very cool international grocery store! I just heard about this store a few days ago and had to check it out. I don't know where to start, there was so much of everything. There was a huge selection of fruits, vegetables, seafood, noodles, frozen foods, bakery, restaurants, jewelry shop, pharmacy and much more. The prices were reasonable and there was a huge selection. Food from all over the world! I bought some shallots, garlic, plantains and dumplings from momo's restaurant inside. There is ample parking as this is located in a shopping plaza.

Jane L.

Yelp
This international grocery store always keeps me coming back for more. It's located off of Morse rd and is relatively to get in and out of. The giant sign helps, because if you're not sure where it is it's a bit hard to find. Once you enter the store you go through the produce section that has some very interesting and ethnic finds. With the prices being so reasonable let yourself pick something new up! If you go straight back you'll find a very well stocked fish/seafood section. Their meat/chicken section has a very wide variety and some interesting and sometimes weird finds. The prices are low and the quality of the chicken has been good in my experience. The rest of this giant store is just a maze of amazing, weird, delicious foods from all over. Look around you'll definitely find something that looks interesting. I have had luck with all sorts of items including candy, snacks, juices, seaweed snacks. One of my absolute favorite things is the fresh pasta section. You will never want to eat dry ramen again, they have delicious and cheap fresh ramen varieties that blow your usual ramen out of the water. The lines are sometimes long and the cashiers can be a bit rude but really it's all part of the experience. Very cool store, recommend going with a friend that has some experience in Asian foods.

Yelp
This grocery store keeps it real. What got my attention was the $0.99/lb fresh jackfruit but I ended leaving the place with much more. On point: tropical fruits variety and quality (I got lychee, Asian mangos and fresh jackfruit), good assortments of randoms you didn't think you needed (I got the Korean Mackerel), and authentic Nepalese restaurant inside the grocery store (i got chicken, veggies and potato dumplings with hot sauce). If I had to recommend one thing here: try the chicken spicy dumplings from the Nepalese restaurant.

Yelp
Saraga is a very good international grocery store. We visit once a while to find more of asian and european cuisines though the isles are not divided by countries still you most likely find what you are looking for. If you really need a country by country isle, you need to visit the Jungle Jim store in Cincinnati. They have two stores there. That store is really huge - several isles for each country around the world!!!

Yelp
Some friends have been telling me I needed to visit Saraga ever since it opened. It took me a while, but when in need of some Korean BBQ sauce, eel, and unagi sauce, I thought it was finally time to stop in. Sure enough, I found exactly what I needed pretty quickly. I also spent some time just wandering the store thinking about all the great recipes I could make now that I know where to find these international items. This store is huge and I can't imagine not being able to find something I needed here. Just the aisle of Korean sauces had probably 40 or 50 different options. It was impressive! Also there was produce I've never seen in any regular grocery store.

Yelp
I frequent a few other Asian markets in the area and this one was pretty awesome. Great selection of all kinds of foods. My only issue was how cramped and crowded it was. It's also an older building and not kept as clean. I'll probably be back but definitely will try to avoid busy hours if possible.

Yelp
I can't be trusted to go to the Saraga grocery without going a little crazy, which is ok cuz the prices are good! The seafood and produce selection is without compare in Columbus. The fishmongers will dress your fish however you'd like (they aren't even gutted yet in the case). The red snapper is super fresh and great. They have so much cool stuff to try, I can't wait to go back. Plus...Momo Ghar is there.

Yelp
A friend of mine recommended this grocery to me & I'm extremely thankful that they did. They have a great selection of food from different countries. I love the authenticity of all the ingredients & how it's placed throughout the stores based on what continent it came from. I will be coming back here more often for sure.

Yelp
Holy crap this place is huge! And it's not just an Asian market, or Mexican one- there's seemingly an aisle for each country in the world. Thailand? Of course. Brazil? Why not? And all the usual suspects, with a big selection in each area. I could have spent an hour, but with fifteen minutes I breezed through and saw lots of interesting items. Grabbed some snacks and drinks, and wished I had more time. Lots of fresh produce up front, a ton of meat and fish in the back, and acres of dry goods in between. Plus a little bakery, and a restaurant. Some kitchen supplies. So, yeah, it'd be hard to walk out empty-handed. Service was good. Prices seem reasonable. It's clean, and smells good (okay, a little fishy by the seafood.) I will be back for more.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to take all of my friends that visit Columbus and it's a place I can easily find ingredients you can't find anywhere else. Everyone has their own cultures they've grown up with and it's nice to see everyone within the grocery finding not just ingredients but also nostalgia. I once took a friend and she was ecstatic after finding a certain tea she used to share with her polish grandmother. Come for the culture, and stay for the Momo Ghar. So glad Columbus has a place like this.

Yelp
I have visited Saraga International Market a few times now. I frequent international markets around Columbus. This one has an overwhelming selection. You can find a little of everything here. And they have restaurants inside if you show up hungry. Or if you want to take something home. This market has flavored mochi. Made with a white bean filling. My favorite is the kiwi flavor. Which I can't seem to find anywhere else. The only downside to having such a large market is going through all of the products checking dates and such. I bought some potato chips that had expired in May. And at times the fresh produce can be a little past ripeness and still be on the shelf. This place is enormous and i see workers. Hard at work every time i'm in here. So it's not so much they aren't doing their job but just the size of the store and how many products they sell. I'm sure it's hard to keep up with. This store is definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
I have had much better experiences at Saraga than I expected when I first visited. The store is much bigger than it appears. All continents and many countries are represented. It could use a little better organization but the variety is better than any international market out there. The prices were a lot cheaper on many items. I am surprised by all the selection at this store. This is the closest thing Columbus has to Jungle Jim's, with more variety than any store around there. I thought by the name it sounded like a Hispanic store, but after seeing the reviews learned there was more there. It seems all the major countries are included. There's African, Asian, European, and almost everywhere. In the Indian section there were tons of dosas and samosas. The frozen treats aisle contained some very unusual desserts. The frozen ice bars had flavors including black bean, mung bean, and taro. In the Asian section there were bags of about 20 pounds of rice. They also have an aisle with many varieties of kimchi and tofu. I thought the interior of the store was fairly clean. There is a fish smell by the seafood but overall wasn't bad in the rest. Along the outer walls are several places with counter service. There's a cafe, jewelry store, Mexican bakery, seafood, and sushi restaurant. I would come when you have time to look around. The items for one country you're looking for may actually be located in another part of the store. If you're looking for cookies, you have the bakery or the cookie aisle. The produce section is actually good since it's much cheaper than other places. At the checkout it can be kind of slow with no self checkout. They accept all major credit cards here and they were friendly enough when I've been there. I recommend visiting Saraga when there's enough time to look through the whole store. It's much bigger than it seems and there's always something new to find. The prices are pretty good compared to other stores and more variety.

Yelp
Does anyone know of a market that does NOT use meat glue? Bought some "ribeye" steaks and when I got home and opened the package, the "fat" was separating from the meat and it actually fell apart in places. I fried a piece for dinner and it doesn't even have that "beefy" taste you get from real ribeye steaks. Instead, it had a chemical aftertaste. So mad at myself. This happened in the regular meat section this week. Last week was halal beef so tough that I couldn't even chew it. I just want a SAFE place that I can go where I can find real meat. #KetoProblems

Yelp
My wife and two of here friends traveled to Columbus a 160 mile round trip to visit this market. They were met with great products however when checking out the cashiers were over charging as well as being rude to the point of ethnic remarks as they are from the Philippines. The cashiers verbally attacked one of the older women because she complained the cashier did not do a proper job by over charging her and the manager had to step in. When I am speaking of the over charge, my wifes amount went from over $200 to $127. Believe we will make the extra trip to Cleveland or Pittsburg before visiting the store again. Check your receipt and watch the price being entered.

Yelp
This place had lots of stuff! I just stopped here to go to Momo Ghar. But this is like a huge wal mart of foreign foods and has so many exotic produce and amazing interesting foods from all over. Really neat! Check it out. OK and when you go is it me or is it hard to get out of the place? Like the doors do not all lead you to the outdoors. In fact I am still there now. I never figured out how to leave. I'm live yelping from inside Saraga. But there is a lot of food here and momos so I am all set.
