Stop by here on the way back from DC just wanted to try something different Food and service was excellent the charcoal chicken is highly recommended but everything was good.

The chicken that you get here is extremely juicy and has amazing seasonings. He cuts are very generous and the prices are a good match for what you get out of the meal. The seasoned fries are delicious, but my favorite sides are the fried rice and the roast vegetables which include brussels sprouts, that will make anyone a brussels sprout fan because they are seriously amazing! The workers are extremely nice and give more than a helping portion for the sides. Service is extremely fast even when they are busy and the chicken is always as good as last time you eat here definitely my favorite place to go for a quick bite that is relatively healthy without feeling like it’s lacking flavor, in fact, it’s the office, especially with all of the sauces they have. My favorite is the green sauce! be careful because parking is a bit tough at this location but usually there is a space.

During my visit I was served by a very lovely young man named Ever who provided me the best customer service ever. He was very courteous, polite and well-spoken. He offered me suggestions of items to try which I did and I now love. His welcoming smile and positive attitude along with his outstanding customer service will keep me coming back for more. Great efforts should be made to retain such talent. He is definitely an asset wherever he goes.

Ordered carry out at Beltsville Sardi’s. Ever who took my orders was efficient, fast & helpful. Picked the food from Ever in the restaurant, everything I ordered were there nicely packed. Ever was very professional & provide wonderful service. Definitely recommend to all my friends about this Sardi’s.

Google
The best food in town. We had a long day and came out of our way to get some chicken and sides. We were treated amazing as soon as we walked in. During our indoor dinning we were attended by Rosa. She was so attentive and helped get us situated once our food came. Rosa brought us over more sauces and utensils. Towards the end of our dinner she saw me looking around and walked over to over covers for our food to take home. It was my cousins first time at Sardi’s and he was amazed on the service and food. We we return on our next trip from New York. Thank you Rosa!!!

Google
Servers are always nice and friendly. They give you a good portion of food. I thought all of the Sardi's was the same , but found out the certain food items at other locations don't taste the same .

Google
The food is very good, I had a mix of chicken, pork and shrimp with mixed veggies and rice with black beans. Very good. It took a couple of minutes to figure out how to make an order. Which is review the menu first, place the order at a cash register then you seat yourself. People sitting in the restaurant wait a long time to receive their order. When the order is received it’s in plastic plates with plastic utensils. The make staff appear to have an air of arrogance but the female staff are more accommodating. My next trip with be for take out.

Google
It was my first time there. Was busy yet the employees were full of smiles and eager to assist in explaining what different dishes entailed. My picky teenager was even able to find and enjoy what he picked to eat. I would say it was a all around good experience...don't really have anything negative to say which is unique for me because my overall dissatisfaction of the human race.

Yelp
Excellent. Great value for money. Would also suggest this specific location, as the service is a little faster. Highly recommend the half chicken.

Jerry S.

Yelp
This place has really gone corporate since the founder passed. Chicken cookers are low and fast instead of tall and slow, so there's a lot less smoky flavor. The traditional beverages are gone, have a coke. Electronic menus let them raise prices. Frequently. I can get better pollo a la brasa closer and cheaper. No better than okay anymore

Donyiel C.

Yelp
This was my first Sardi's experience and still my go to. Over the years, it's been hit or miss at times. My issues were never with the customer service because they have some of the nicest people working here, but at times it was just the food itself! Like everything else these days, the prices here jumped up significantly. I used to pay maybe $13 for my go to meal here, but now it's about $18! I mostly order in advance and I get some coupons emailed to me here and there. A handful of times I still had to wait for my order after arriving, but most of the time, it's ready! Lately I haven't had any issues with the food portion or taste. I will continue coming as a treat!

Good G.

Yelp
Budget conscious diner, but it adds up fast. We had 2 breakfast sandwiches, shared an order of chunky fried redskinned potatoes & a side of fresh fruit. A hot chocolate and a coke. Our server was great, mostly Spanish speaking restaurant employees. It was $30 + tip.

Yelp
Being an alumni of University of Maryland College Park, Sardi's was always a renown go-to spot for Peruvian chicken in the area, and somehow I never had the chance to try it until now! I'm definitely glad I did though, because I got to see what I was missing out on without it during my time as a student. For my box, I got the chicken breast with some sides: Yuca and Peruvian Fried Rice, and they were absolutely delicious, especially when combined with the sauces. The chicken is well seasoned and had a nice char-grilled flavor, but a bit dry in some parts, not a deal breaker by any means, just needed to lather it up with some more sauce. Good portions for the price, quick service, definitely a classic around this side of Maryland!

Nev T.

Yelp
Let me tell you about Sardi's. This chicken is juicyyyy. Reminds me of my wi.... Nvm. But yea the food is good. The mashed potatoes are buttery. Service is easy and quick. There's always people in here. They have different sauces also the green one is what I went with. It was good. Can't remember what it's called. Since the last time I've been here they have also upgraded the menu. I'd say come give it a try.

Gen S.

Yelp
The best of both worlds, Sardi chicken and a cool, refeshing El Greco Salad. Huge portions (3 servings).

Kell M.

Yelp
This was pretty solid all around! The fried yuca was very good, the rice was pretty good and the plantains would've been perfect with a bit more ripeness. But the steak was the star of the show! Really enjoyed the marinade on it. We did Uber eats and an entire meal was missing unfortunately. But otherwise everyone seemed to like their meals!

Joanne C.

Yelp
Every time I come back to Maryland for the holidays, I HAVE to go to Sardis. Been going to them since college days at UMD. The chicken has been consistently good for the past 10 years!! Service is fast. In the past 10 years they did start limiting the number of free sauces. If it's just me, I usually get the 1/4 or 1/2 chicken with 2 sides (fried rice and fries) and am super full. With friends, we get the whole chicken with two large sides combo (fried rice and yuca, picture in this review). I LOVE all the sauces but I think yellow and green are my favorite! Plenty of seating, I've come in the past with big groups.

Jose M.

Yelp
It's solid Peruvian rotisserie chicken. If you're familiar with what that is, no need to belabor the review with an explanation. I find Sardi's portions generous and usually juicy. They can also be pretty liberal with the sauces if you ask. I like their honey mustard and mumbo sauce (and I mention the latter without commenting on how genuine it is). Their non-chicken options are also good, though on those you might get a little less food than you hope given inflation. Their sides however are good and plentiful. If I had one suggestion it would be they should have a boneless chicken breast options. But if you want reliable chicken Sardi's should not disappoint.

Charles M.

Yelp
Sardi's consistently offers fantastic food and beverages. The staff is excellent, and with multiple DMV locations, it's a go-to spot for a delightful dining experience.

Rachel S.

Yelp
Came here for the first time for dinner with hubby and a couple of friends. Hubby and I ordered their carne aside with fries and arroz chaufa and their 3 piece dark meat with fried yuca and sautéed spinach. Total came out to approximately $39. What's Hot - Quality. For the most part, not bad, but doesn't stand out. - Portions. Good size portions and good value for money. - Menu. Pretty good variety as there is meat, veggies, seafood, and desserts. - Service. The staff we encountered were all nice and polite. - Location. Convenient location. There's a Wawa gas station right next to it and many other restaurants and shops on the same block and within the vicinity. - Layout. Good interior space. There are tables for 4 and up to 6 people. - Parking. There's a decent size parking lot outside, which is definitely helpful. What's Not - Quality. Not bad, but not great. For example, my sautéed spinach wasn't seasoned at all. There were garlic cloves and pieces of red bell pepper in it, but I could barely taste any flavor of the spinach. The chicken was seasoned, but the flavor tasted like that of any rotisserie chicken one can get from a grocery store. My chicken also came with my choice of 2 dipping sauces. One of the flavors of dipping sauces I ordered was jalapeño, which was not spicy at all. Their dipping sauces don't really stand out. - Service. To be fair, they're not terrible, but they don't appear coordinated and the most knowledgeable. There were a couple mistakes made with the food, when our order arrived. Additionally, we ate in, so we were given a couple of number stands so their staff could find us and give us the appropriate orders. It doesn't appear that every customer, who ate in, was given a number. At the end of our meal, a waiter appeared with food and asked us if that was our order. Fortunately for him, we didn't steal someone else's order. Haha... - Layout. It's a pretty good layout for customers to eat in, but there was also leaking from their ceiling. We sat beneath a vent and there was water dripping around us. Not cool. Additionally, their restrooms are locked with a key and appear to only be able to accommodate one person at a time, which isn't helpful when there are many customers. Final Answer Would be willing to come back, but probably not a first choice.

Yelp
Ordered delivery while staying at a hotel in the area. This place did not disappoint. The chicken was moist and tasty. The Brussel sprouts/carrots were delicious, and the green beans were decent. I would definitely order from them again. I was happy to have real vegetables as side options, and not just fries or salad. 4 Stars

Gabriel C.

Yelp
Solid spot, wouldn't say I was amazed, but definitely was not disappointed. Would say it was average. Glad they had a lot of sauce options (though, surprised I got charged, but that's on me).

Stacy D.

Yelp
First time trying this place and I loved it! The peruvian chicken place closest to me is El Pollo Rico. While the chicken at EPR is awesome, their sides are really lacking, the only good side to get are the fries. I loved the number and quality of sides at Sardi's - got broccoli, greens, black beans (healthy stuff!), and delicious mashed potatoes with gravy. The empanadas are amazing too! crispy and flavorful juicy fillings. I will definitely be going to the lone Sardi's location in Virginia more.

Pistol W.

Yelp
Everything was good. so good. filling. better than chipotle and Taco Bell. go here if you're a real one.

Adelyn P.

Yelp
This location is my favorite Sardis. They just do it better than some others. Got multiple servings of half white chicken. The various sides consisted of green beans, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and platanos (plantains). All this plus a number of sauces. As good as it ever was. I went there in late afternoon so there was no line. I did take out and everything was well and securely packed. I love this place for take out or dine in. I'll be back again soon.

Ronnie T.

Yelp
So yesterday I gave this spot a try, and I must say that I was very satisfied with the food and quality service that I received. I placed an order for a lamb gyro over the phone, and I asked for a side of french fries as well. My order was ready in about fifteen minutes, and the lady at the counter loaded my bag up with sauces, utensils, and love. Upon arriving home, I opened up the container and was in awe at the presentation and generous portions. Lots of french fries, and the gyro had lots of lamb and lettuce + tomatoes inside! Talk about a sight to see! Now I wanted to also make sure that the gyro tasted as good as it looked. I added some of the sauces (salsa verde, amarillo sauce) Upon my first bite I tasted the delicious juicy flavor of the lamb along with the grill char! Followed by the lettuce, tomato, and fresh grated cheese. My taste buds were in paradise! I felt both warmth and comfort with eating this meal! I am so curious to try other items on the menu. I have had the roasted and fried chicken before, which is also very delicious! Check this place out, you will not regret it! Cheers to good eats!

Nina Z.

Yelp
I love pollo a la brasa and have tried it a ton of places so when I was shopping in the area I decided to try this spot out. The chicken was fine. The traditional sauces/salsas yellow, red and green were horrible and tasted nothing like they should. They tasted like different variations of mayonnaise. We wanted to order plantains but did not as they looked dry. We ended up getting yuca frita and chaufa with beans. The fried yuca was pretty good, probably the best thing we ordered. The chaufa and beans were sub par. Flavorless. We ended up also getting desserts (tres leches, arroz con leche and alfajores). The tres leches tasted of pure cinnamon which usually does not. The rice pudding oddly enough did not have enough cinnamon. And the alfajor cookies were actually pretty good. All in all I would not return nor recommend. There are plenty of other authentic places to try so avoid this one.

Thuy B.

Yelp
The chicken is tender and flavorful. Good for the price! I like the wide selection of sides/appetizers.

Denise U.

Yelp
I will say all the food I've had there was always good. Today I purchased 2 platters and spent just about $45.00. So, as I was getting ready to leave I wanted some sauce for my meal. I was told that I had to pay 5cents per sauce. I was a little disappointed that after I spent money on 2 meals. I have to pay for sauce now? Not a good look after people have paid good money for meals there. Is this at all the locations or just the one at Bowie Towne Centre?? Just want to know.

Young V.

Yelp
selected all white. received all dark. ubereats wouldn't help with refund.

Brea S.

Yelp
Don't eat here unless you want COVID and burnt and small pieces of chicken. I have been going to Sardis before it was popular and it's always delicious this time is not a good experience I walked in and saw three men with no face mask on standing and pointing to the food in the line breathing all over the food even know they had a sneeze cover there is an opening where Covid can slide through. I asked numerous staff members about the facemask and they said everybody supposed to have one but these 3 men did not and they didn't say anything to them. Then I got home and saw my chicken was super Duper small and when I bit into it all three pieces were burnt is a horrible experience do not go to the Sardis.DO NOT EATH HERE!!!!!!!

Jason J.

Yelp
Favorite Peruvian chicken spot...been going for almost 15 years. Service is efficient and ambiance is hole in the wall, but you go for the food.

Chris M.

Yelp
This has to be the best lunch for the money in the area. We went today for lunch. I get the 1/4 light meal, he gets the 1/4 dark meal. The fresh vegetables just complement the chicken. It's just a quality meal for the price. UPDATE : later in the day after I looked a the receipt. I have no idea who the bill I paid belonged to. We both ordered a 1/4 chicken, yet were charged for 1/2 chicken. No idea where three piece dark came from. Watch what they charge you for here. Most of what I paid for wasn't what we ordered.

Scott E.

Yelp
Have you ever had a movie that is such a guilty pleasure that, whenever you stumble upon it, flipping through channels, you stop and watch? For me, it's Jan de Bont's "Twister" (1996),a mash-up of romantic comedy and kinetic action in which Helen Hunt plays Jo Harding, a storm-chasing scientist who, twenty-seven years after losing her father to an F5 tornado at age 5, is signed-paperwork away from losing her husband to a divorce, and Bill Paxton plays Bill Harding, her storm-chasing scientist-husband, who is desperate to move on legally so that he can marry his new fiancé: an empathetic "relationship-therapist"who thinks the tornadoes Bill used to chase are metaphors (wonderfully portrayed by Lost Boys alum Jami Gertz). Fortunately, with the Baltimore Avenue, Beltsville location of Sardi's Pollo A La Brasa, what they are known for, their charcoal-broiled, Peruvian Chicken and their Arroz Chaufa (Peruvian Fried Rice), contains no guilt at all. Their family special, containing two whole chickens, five large sides, and a two-liter, provides the perfect solution to a family dinner in which no family member has to cook.

Fatima B.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat! Food is always great. They do not skimp on the portions! If I order online, the food is hot and ready.

Debi L.

Yelp
Sardi's is redefining fast casual. Their chicken is just absolutely flavorful. One of my favorite side dishes is the yuca. Tasty, delicious food yet truly satisfying!

Cynthia H.

Yelp
I was treated to Mother's Day dinner! Chicken, rice, green beans and salad. With the dressings the flavor was delicious! Portions were generous and all was fresh! Please try this restaurant the next time you want wholesome, flavorful and generous portions.

Calvin D.

Yelp
This is by far the most consistent and best tasting place of it's kind!!! I have been to similar restaurants and one day food is amazing and next it's mediocre but here it's always consistently freaking delicious! it don't matter what I order from savory to sweets I know when I come here I am going to have an amazing meal. This is my next stop after shopping at Costco which is 1 or 2 times a month which is probably been about 7 or 8 times so far (I am new to this part of MD) and I discovered this true gem. I highly recommend this mouth watering restaurant!!!!!

T. C.

Yelp
Especially like the one on Rt. 1 bc they have high traffic and have to switch out their food more often. Lots of options for side dishes, and other food other than chicken. Only issue is that it's hard to hear in there when placing an order at times.

Mary M.

Yelp
Place is always busy but that just shows how good their food is. However, be wary when ordering for pick-up. It's never ready by the time they quote you and expect to wait... like really wait. Service is otherwise pretty average. But like I said, their food is good and that's what keeps us coming back for more.

Emily M.

Yelp
The food was freaking good!!!! The chicken hands down the most moist and tasty I have had. The yuca fries !!!!! A must. My kid had their white rice with fréjoles. He ate so fast cause it was good. My hubby had their lamb gyro and he loved it! And on top of all this the portion size are insanely big. So go hungry. The prices are just perfect. If I'm ever in in this area again will definitely come again.

Katrina S.

Yelp
We were stopping by IKEA and Costco after work and realized our drive back to DC would be hectic without some food. We saw Sardi's along the road with people going in and out. After seeing the reviews on Yelp we decided to try it. Thank goodness we did. We called in our order and asked for suggestions. The restaurant suggested we try their lomo saltado with their green sauce. My dad and I had tried lomo saltado back in LA and I had it back in Peru. This was pretty close! Even though it wasn't quite like I had in Peru or LA, this was full of flavor and the closest to traditional lomo saltado i have had in the DMV. Thanks for the suggestion!

Marcques W.

Yelp
I actually frequent Sardis a lot as it's minutes from my house and work . Came here today for lunch. For real...I love this place. 1/4 chicken, white with brussels sprouts and carrots and string beans is my go to. Can't beat it. Thank me later and you're welcome in advance! I'll be honest everything I've tried here was hittin'. I'm not sure what they sprinkle on the chicken, but it can't be regular seasoning. Maybe it's the rotisserie char. Either way, it's the reason why lunch time is packed. Even at 12 noon... I've had the salmon, steak, obviously chicken and all of them were good. I've had the Arroz Chaufa, white rice and beans, plantains (Caribbean wife approved), spinach (definitely a favorite), corn, and probably some others that I forgot. Their empanadas, although good, are small and cooked to order upon your request. Prepared to wait 5-8 extra minutes of you order in person. The chicken is the better empanada. The beef is actually steak so if you are looking for ground beef, just know beforehand. Nevertheless the steak empanada is good as well. (wife approved as well... She loves steak) I've never tried other locations or their catering, but if it's as good as the Beltsville location, I'm all in if away from home.

steph l.

Yelp
I want to start of by saying I love Sardi's. I normally order the Peruvian 1/2 chicken with white rice, mashed potatoes, green beans, and yuca. The chicken always comes out juicy and tasty in my experience. I also love the rice it's perfectly salted to my taste. I feel like the mashed potatoes and green beans could use some work. Also, the service is pretty nice and the place overall is 5 stars.

Park G.

Yelp
This is my favorite chain when it comes to fast casual food. Service - I have to admit, we did wait a few minutes before someone showed up to take our order, but I was looking at the menu anyways so no worries there. We also ordered the food to eat in and was given a table number. We sat down and the food was brought out to us once it was ready. Took roughly 15 minutes. Food - The chicken needs no introduction and the sides area great. We got the 3 piece dark with the plantains and brussel sprouts. I noticed that there were 2 "tiers" of sides on the menu with different prices. Both our sides were on the pricier part of the menu for sides but we weren't charged extra when we opted for them. We also ordered the pork chops which may be why it took a bit longer. If you're just going for the chicken, just go line up in front of the food to order. The pork chops were smoky from the charcoal grill and that flavor was just top notch. It won't be the juiciest pork chop but you get three maybe 1/4"-1/3" chops that picks up the amazing charcoal flavor.

Tommy B.

Yelp
What happened with the good green sauce!????? It so plain now. Only mayo!?!?! Plus chicken used to be lots more seasoning marinated. Now so plain and dry. Please make better as before!!!!!!!

Lai D.

Yelp
Sardi's has VERY TASTY food. It's really delicious. Please try it. You won't be disappointed.

Stephen J.

Yelp
I've been going to this mainstay (Sardis first location) since 2008. I have even been to a wedding rehearsal dinner at this location. What can I say the Peruvian Chicken, sides/sauces and specialties like the lamb chops, empanadas, steak and cheese, chicken sandwich (spicy), gyro, salmon, tres leches, and even the chicken wings are worth it. It's nice to see this restaurant has ballooned into the behemoth of a franchise it is today! I love the fact that this meal is great for a Netflix and Chill, dine in, take out and even a wedding rehearsal. Also a must go place if you have family visiting from out of town.

Stosh D.

Yelp
Used to be great. The food is still good, but I'm disappointed that the portion sizes for the sides have shrunk over time. A family special used to truly feed my family. The price has gone up and as of today no longer includes large size portions. With their biggest family meal you get 2 chickens and 5 sides, but the 5 sides are single size portions. It claims to feed 6-7 people, okay but 2 or more of those people won't get a taste. And you better order multiple of your favorite sides or else the kids will be arguing about who got too much of what. Its dumb because the change has happened as of New Years this year. The place used to be packed, but I think word has gotten out that it is no longer cost efficient. A victim of their own success I guess.

Krishna Bhavithavya K.

Yelp
We ordered online and the food was ready in time. We got the whole chicken (dark meat) with two sides 1. Fried plantains and 2. Stir fried veggies both of them were good. The sides were big enough we were able to share for two meals. The chicken is soft and tender. We got multiple sauces to go along Honey Sriracha was good. The jalapeño was very good too. Overall good food.

Libby F.

Yelp
I had the pescado con queso (fish sandwich for all the gringos out there) and I loved it. It was huge (should be for $11) and a bit messy to eat. I had to remove some of the onions, but overall it was delicious. Next time a friend is craving their Peruvian chicken and it's not your thing, tag-along and get the fish. It's the next best thing to a Culver's fish sandwich in the Midwest.

Mel K.

Yelp
First time ordering take out from here and will definitely order again. The chicken is delicious and the white meat was not dry. Very good price for 1/2 a chicken and 2 large sides. The broccoli was perfectly cooked with nice chunks of garlic and the fried rice was delicious. I couldn't finish it all. I ordered the 2 hottest aoli sauces but they were mild at best. I only wish they had a spicier non aoli sauce.

Robin B.

Yelp
Always a delicious restaurant! I love the variety that you can get while staying somewhat healthy! For a 'fast food' restaurant the food is consistently good, and always tastes good. The price is also good for the amount of food that you get. This is an easy go-to when we need quick bite to eat!

Andrea F.

Yelp
Food delicious and large portions and many choices. Great alternative if you don't get the chance to cook Sunday dinner for your family

Michael G.

Yelp
An absolute classic, the chicken is absolutely perfect. It's tender, seasoned well and pretty much falls off the bone. The yucca fries and plantains are my go to sides.

Courtney L.

Yelp
This location has simply been the best. They are adhering to all the precautions as we navigate COVID-19. My recommendation is to call ahead. I always call my order in and my food is hot and ready when I arrive. However if you choose to order while there, please be sure to have your masks on and practice social distancing while in line. The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. I usually order the half chicken with green beans and kale. I have orders the chicken fried rice and plantain too. Both are great. This is probably my favorite combo. The food is always delicious and I will keep coming back!

Da C.

Yelp
Ordered the fried fish to try it. It was so hard, it didn't fall apart. I asked for fried rice and Brussel sprouts and they decided to put white rice underneath the fish. The o my reason why I ate it was because I think about all those folks going hungry and I work hard to throw my money away. Never again.

Shawn N.

Yelp
This out-of-town visitor stopped in for a late dinner (around 9:00 pm) based on the great yelp reviews. This restaurant is a great concept. Menu mostly revolves around freshly prepared charcoal roasted chicken and other meats . Food was fresh, very tasty and reasonably priced. If I lived here I would be a frequent customer.
