"Sari Ratu is our pick for the best nasi padang in town. You start with a big plate of rice on a plastic tray and then point at various dishes they have on display. That’s when the staff starts piling food on until you can’t see the bottom of the tray anymore. A list of all the options would be longer than the credits of a Marvel movie, but we like the black-sauce squid, the potato patties, and whatever curry they’re making that day." - Anthony Eu

First of all, it’s authentic Indonesian restaurant since I’m Indonesian myself. I went to many restaurant and very much craving for best quality nasi padang. Rendang doesn’t have that much flavor, not black and strong enough, can be improved. Egg omelette is rather bland and not tasty. Daun ubi is also just OK. The noteworthy thing is probably the sambal, both lado and sambal hijau, I live up to the sambal, and the portion is generous. But overall satisfying experience. Give four stars.

Authentic nasi Padang along Pahang street! Reasonably priced and a wide selection of dishes. They also offer generous amount of sambal chilli to accompany your order! Hence the lime juice which I ordered. They also have a branch at Lucky Plaza in town. Definitely worth a visit if you are craving for Padang.

Food is just OK if you’re looking for Indonesian but do not come expecting the usual local Malay nasi padang flavours which are sweeter and more coconutty. Portions were smallish and not cheap ($65 for three diners). I found the flavours simple and underwhelming: think deep fried potato chips, pan fried mashed potatoes and pan fried eggplant topped with separately prepared chili sambal; the least appetizing was the “satay” which was tough and served with a salty sauce... I can’t blame them for being authentic to the Indonesian flavour if it indeed was but it was an unappetizing shock to my palate. The beef rendang was a messy plate of dry, stringy meat. What made this a TERRIBLE experience for us was the service. Every single time we finished a plate, a woman would swoop by and snatch it away. This happened at least 4 times even though I had registered my shock and displeasure. The last time, she even lifted up unfinished plates and wiped our table WHILE we were still eating and proceeding to dessert. And we weren’t even messy diners! I can safely say that I’ll never return.

One of the most authentic and flavourful padang cuisine in singapore. I kept coming back for their prawn balado and potato crips. They have sate padang too.

If you are looking for authentic Padang food, this is the place to go. Expect to queue if you wanna lunch here. I have been to Padang and the dishes are the closest you’ll get. However, the heat from the chilli is rather mild unlike those in Padang. Perhaps to cater to the palate of the international diners here. Their signature dish is the Gulai Tunjang (tendon in spicy coconut curry). I love love love this delicacy! Served in a claypot and reheated before serving. The tendon was tender and melt in your mouth. Padang food will always use coconut and packed with chilli and spices; and this dish did not lack the flavour! The beef in the rendang was succulent. The taste of fried coconut (kerisik) came through nicely. It was sweet and spicy but lacked the heat. The pucuk ubi lemak (cassava leaf) was a bit tough as they did not use the young leaves. But I had a better one here before. The bergedil was pretty huge. It was rather simple but tasty. Dip it with the Cabe Goreng and it will bring the taste to the next level! The fried salted fish (not too sure the type of fish) was crunchy, mildly salted and super tasty! Just like eating any Malay food, Padang food is typically eaten with rice. Don’t worry about the taste of each dosh competing with the other, cos the Malays enjoy a good celebration of taste in our mouth!

Popular spot for lunch as evinced by a good crowd daily. Family friendly with plenty of dishes to share including oxtail soup, fried fish, tendon in curry and various vegetable options which one can wash down with drinks such as iced lemon tea or hot ginger tea. Note that some of the curries are spicier than other nasi padang restaurants in the area (such as Minang) – this could be a positive or negative depending on how spicy one likes their food. 🌶 Environment is definitely on the "cozier" side as the place is packed during lunchtime and they've really squeezed in as many tables as possible into the space. Would suggest coming in a little earlier for larger sized groups. Staff are friendly and keep their cool despite the volume of orders, which is always a plus. Will come back again to try more of the dishes.

5 stars for the food. It was a treat by a friend so not sure about the price. Have had some Indonesian food so far and this is the best I've had. The dishes are not too spicy. Recommended.
