Sariling Atin Review - Elmhurst - New York - The Infatuation

"Sariiling Atin is first and foremost a Filipino grocery store - but there’s also a cafeteria-style counter in the back with simmering mung bean stews, pancit noodles, and crispy lechon kawali. We suggest getting a combo meal, which costs between $5-$11 and comes with your choice of one-to-three entrees plus a side of rice or noodles. Focus on the rich pork adobo to-go, or hang out in their designated dining area. Either way, make sure you pick up some Filipino snacks like Ding Dongs or Squidees on your way out." - Hannah Albertine

Got catering from here. No care in the preparation of the meats and it ruined the experience and taste of the dishes. It was embarrassing to have their food served to my guests. The price was more affordable compared to others but lesson learned; you get what you paid for. Would not recommend to get catering from here. Spend more and get catering from somewhere else; it'll be worth it. Poor representation of Filipino food.

Absolutely horrible store. The staff is incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming. I went buy a kabob and the the woman behind the counter saw me and walked away. The cashier might as well have snarled at me, she seemed so pissed that I was paying for my items. I said "thank you, have a good day" and she literally raised her eyebrows and rolled her eyes. Everything in this store is overpriced, dusty and gross. There are plenty of better stores in walking distance . The previously mentioned kabob is also doing cartwheels in my stomach.

The prices at this store are a lot higher than other nearby stores. I went there just for 1 item that i need. Your credit card will not be accepted when you purchased bellow $10 which is illegal. I handed the cashier $20 cash then the cashier told me she do not have change. I told her that you should always be ready with your loose lower dollar bills as a cashier. Not you are busy on your phone. I highly do not recomend coming to this store. Thier product prices are rediculously high.

They are charging a lot more than the price stated on the item. I was buying a Martin’s Purefoods hotdogs & the price marked on the shelf is $6.35, when I was paying the elderly cashier in the food section was charging me $8.55. I told her that it was not the price but she insisted on the higher price claiming that the price”wasn’t changed yet.” This is a very bad business practice & actually is deceiving customers of the rightful price which are marked on the shelves…very very practice especially at this time of pandemic where people are trying to save some precious money to get by…😡😡😡

Honestly, a good store if you would like Filipino-Asian grocery items, but I did have a bad experience with them. Ordered a tray of 100 lumpia to pick up to take to work for my coworkers, and when I got there and completely forgot to make my tray. The lack of service recovery that followed was sad, to say the least. At least offer something else or give a discount if you completely forget to make an order. Disappointment.

Me and my husband always there every week until last week when I ordered 100 pcs of lumpia and turon for me to bring in a birthday party. When I came they just said they forgot to cook….OMG…sooo sad…They are nice but negligence is totally NOT acceptable so I went to a party empty handeD …SHAME! im so disappointed.

Went to the store 10 minutes before closing and they would not let me buy, even though I only wanted to buy ONE THING. It would have taken 1 minute to pay but they said no and made me leave. I came in around 3:50 but they are supposed to close at 4PM Sunday. And I came right after work. HORRIBLE!

We placed a food order for Christmas Eve which was confirmed a week and a half prior. We got a call Christmas Eve that they have too many orders and couldn't fulfill our order. After some time on the phone they said they'll have it ready at 5PM. 5PM comes around and we're told they gave our order to someone else. After insisting we get our order because it was confirmed to begin with and now too late to order some place else, they agreed to make it for 6PM pickup. After all of that, they have the nerve to say "Are you happy now?" as they give us the order. I'm giving 2 stars because the food is good and they're one of the better Filipino grocery stores in the area.
