This has been a favorite of my friend group for at least the past year, if not longer. When I was first brought here, they hyped it up so much I was skeptical. After all, I had lived in Japan for 3 years, and I firmly believe that I KNOW good sushi. Throw in the fact that this is AYCE, and the doubts compacted - these places are *always* quantity over quality, right? WRONG! Four visits later and I'm hooked!
This place is almost too hidden, in the back corner of a little plaza, not easily visible from the street. Inside aestheticaly the place is your standard sushi place, with a sushi counter/bar (closed due to COVID, at the time of this review) and asian-inspired decor. If you pay attention as you're coming in, the owner/chef has their Subaru out front with the license plate "Sasa!" We've reserved each time we visit and have had zero wait so far. The service has always been exceptional, with the wait staff attending to us promptly and the chefs sending out our orders expeditiously.
The AYCE menu is extensive - truly something for everyone, even for the picky kiddos among our group. I was surprised that with as wide and diverse a menu as they have, the quality doesn't suffer.
The food - personal favorites among our group include (but is not limited to) the following: Miso Glazed Salmon (CROWD FAVORITE!), Salmon Belly. Shiro Maguro Nigiri, Sasa Roll, Tracy II Roll, Pork Belly, and French Fries (weird, right? but their fries are GOOD!). Their nigiri selection is vast and the fish is fresh. We all tend to go for the Affogato for dessert, though my little one likes the tempura ice cream a lot.
Definitely recommend if you're in the area - ironically I live about 35 minutes away, but will make the drive out for Sasa Sushi any day!
