We were at Disney for Christmas, stayed at another hotel. Came over to use last of our Quick service credits. Wow 😳. Food choices were amazing both bfast & lunch. Colorful & Fun decor. Plenty of seating and endless options food and drink. Staff was exceptionally kind & helpful. I will make it a point to come back here again .

Had to have the Bignets, they are pretty good and made fresh. Still warm when we got them, not as good as Cafe Du Mondes but very yummy and a good coffee as well. Definitely worth the visit and beautifully decorated. Seen some characters as well when we stopped in.

What a great food court! Many choices that will cover all different tastes and something for everyone. Whether you have the avocado and eggs tacho bowl for breakfast, the tasty sandwiches for lunch, the jambalaya for dinner, and this fabulous beignets at ANY TIME, nothing has disappointed! Come on over and enjoy the atmosphere and great eats.

Great food here and lovely staff who are happy to help with anything. I loved how big this food court was compared to the more upmarket hotels. You get proper cutlery and plates which you don’t receive at the riverside resort. Catering was great for gluten free meals.

Classic and fun. Loved the beignets, warm and fresh. Great atmosphere. Even with a bit of a crowd, service was quick.

If you're staying in either the French Quarter, you can't miss this, and if you're staying at Port Orleans Riverside like I was, the beignets were worth the boat ride. Absolutely delicious and they will definitely be a factor for when I decide where to stay next time I visit the Disney World Resort.

Stayed at the resort and ate here 3 times as they were basically our only option. Most of the young staff behind the counter seemed so underprepared to take orders and scoop pre-prepared food it was fascinating. Each time I tried to order it was a sight to see how stumped they were over the most straightforward and simple request. The Positives: The beignets are good, a little on the heavier side. The chicken with mash potatoes and broccoli dinner entree punched above normal cafeteria fair. The Negatives: Breakfast was heavy, greasy, waffles were rock hard. The poboy was bad, way too much bread to toppings. Kids burger was bland, almost cold.

Shrimp po boy among best I’ve had. Gumbo stellar as well. Jambalaya pretty good too. Definitely worth a trip from nearby hotels (I’m not staying here)

We stayed at the French Quarter our last Disney trip. The Sassagoula food court was fine. I love gumbo, so that was the one thing I had to try, and it was really good. Very authentic. Sassagoula's coffee situation was poor unfortunately. Mind bogglingly unprepared for the morning rush before park openings, empty self serve coffee containers, and only 1 milk option. In reality there should be at least 3 (whole, 1%, half n half) for that much traffic. One day, I actually had to buy a small carton of milk for our coffees because I wanted to get out of there and make the bus.

Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory: This is the place to eat if you want fast counter service with tasty options and great food. From snacks, burgers, Southern food fare to pizza, desserts, and some health-conscious choices. This place wasn't very crowded during the week around lunchtime, which was pleasant. We enjoyed the Mardi Gras float elements and artwork, too. There are plenty of seating options, both indoor and outdoor. There are plenty of drink options (even alcoholic drink options). There's something for everyone here, and the service was fast and friendly.

I'd say typically, this food court is on point! The Jambalaya and the Gumbo are some of my fav things to get my property! I actually just sent some friends to take the boat from Disney Springs to get the Gumbo and they said it was so worth it, they were raving about it! Honestly, even the cheapy chicken Alfredo is good! While the chicken isn't seasoned, the salt content from the Alfredo really pulls that little meal together and it's hearty. Mind blowing? No. Good, easy and a quick hot meal? Yes! Now unfortunately on with the bad. The caprese chicken sandwich was truly terrible and so was their version of the Cuban fries. So for the chicken sandwich; I really wanted to love this one--but sadly, it just didn't deliver the magic. The chicken breast wasn't seasoned at all...not even a pinch of salt or pepper. It came topped with a thick slice of mozzarella and a swipe of basil aioli, but the flavors didn't come together. There was barely any balsamic glaze, and the sandwich ended up feeling more soggy than satisfying. The arugula and tomato were fresh, but overall, the whole thing tasted like plain, boiled chicken on a falling-apart bun. Not something I'd order again. But hey, they can't all be pixie dust and fireworks, right?! The Cuban fries were delicious at Caribbean Beach a week prior but these were just oily and gross. I brought them back to the counter and they ended up giving me something else but said that the chef doesn't have a recipe for the Cuban fries? That doesn't seem right. The manager insinuated they have to come up with their own recipe for the cheese sauce but I'm telling you...that does not seem right to me.

This is the food court place at the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. It was a great option to have at the hotel. As you walking up to it, the menus and where you order is to the left and the seating area is past it. There's a drink station area and then there's more seating on the other side of that as well. There's tables and high top tables as well. The menu was decent and there were five stations you could order from. Plenty of options here including burgers and fries and an impossible burger, create your own dish with meat or impossible option and a vegetable and carb side as well. Pizza and pasta, salads and desserts of course. They also have a refillable cup for the duration of your stay that you can use at the drink station which I believe never closes. There was also a breakfast menu from 7 am to about 10 am I believe. Full breakfast options were available too. I thought this was a better option than most of the quick service places at magic kingdom.

Five stars all around for the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory. This gem of a restaurant can be found at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter resort. We had beignets multiple times during our stay at the resort, and enjoyed dinner one night as well. Let me start with the beignets though. OMG...warm, soft, fluffy, and covered with powdered sugar. They are very addicting! For dinner, we had shrimp po'boy sandwiches. They were served warm, the shrimp were fried to crispy perfection, with the most tasty remoulade sauce and fresh lettuce and tomatoes. And I can't forget the perfectly cooked fries. And even better, if you are staying on Disney property and have the Disney Dining plan, you get a resort refillable mug. You can have all the soda your little heart desires...lol! There are also breakfast and lunch offerings at Sassagoula too, but we only had dinner.

Stopped by tonight for dinner. They have a nice assortment of food, a lot more than what is listed on the app. The pasta is semi cookies to order as they finish cooking the noodles off once you order. This tasted good but wasn't anything great. It was plenty filling. The shrimp po boy we got with the sauce on the side because it sure does have a kick. The shrimp had great seasoning, were crispy, and a nice size. The bun was airy as well. The fries were old and cold. We ended up getting them replaced. Cast members were happy to help.

Underrated Disney dining location in my opinion. We have stopped in several times as parking is simple here even when not staying at the resort. Just let the parking attendant know you are eating at quick service. French quarter has the greatest chill Disney vibes. Great lobby fountain and merch store. We love the breakfast options here! Recent visit we had the tachos - tator tots, scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese - simple perfection. Tots were crispy and eggs were cooked perfect and flavorful. We also split the Disney waffles with bacon, and they were nice and crispy on the outside, soft and sweet on the inside. Nice, ample seating area, condiments and ice water cups with easy access. Also, a great location to get scat cat lounge and sit down with the rest of breakfast options. Staff is helpful and pleasant; pricing and portions are excellent for Disney. Highly recommended!

The atmosphere for this area is great, it's a fun New Orleans theme. They do some lightweight things for Mardi Gras, so it's nice. The food, generally speaking, isn't great. I'd put it a notch below the food at the parks (the beignets from the counter next door are another matter...they're decadent). This is an ok stop if you're staying at the resort and need grub, but I'd suggest grabbing something at the parks or Disney Springs instead.

The Mickey waffle bounty platter is the perfect way to fuel up for a magical day! I love that they have switched from paper plates and plastic ware to real plates and silverware! The food was fresh and hot and I had no line as I was the only person there at 7:00 am. I love the Mardi Gras theming in the restaurant with all the masks and beads.

This is yummy, for what it is - a quick service restaurant by Disney. The grilled chicken sandwich is really good, and out of the ordinary. :) The fries are good. The burger is okay. Someone else in my party liked the Chicken Alfredo. They have a grab and go spot with fresh fruit, raw veggies, and drinks.

This is a large food court styled with New Orleans Mardi Gra theme! It has 4 different lines of multiple food choices. Pastas, pizzas, jambalaya, gumbo, po boys, burgers and steak sandwiches, comfort foods like salmon, gravy meat, meatloaf, chicken and all the fixing! Dessert options are huge. Crossain't cake, ice cream sundaes, brownies, cookies etc! Just around the corner, they make fresh beignets! Do not skip the beignets if you're going to Port Orleans. I chose salmon tonight, and it was delicious. The portions are hearty.

I've been to Sassagoula Floatworks twice now, once in February 2022 and again in November 2023. Both times I ordered the jambalaya with cornbread. It's tasty, seasoned, a bit of spice (not spicy though) and served pretty quickly. Pricing is what I'd expect. Sassagoula is cafeteria style, where you order your food from different counters and check out at a central location once you have everything. They also have a large cooler with more grab and go items and a variety of drinks (including small wines and beer). They also have Coca Cola Freestyle machines.

I liked it! Always looked forward to getting up and having a meal here in the morning, and even for dinner some nights! For breakfast, you can get standard breakfast fare like eggs, waffles, sausages, etc... But the real value comes at dinnertime. Of course, they're meant to be Southern inspired, so they got a rotating menu for dinner that MIGHT have jambalaya, gumbo, shrimp and grits, or something else. One night, we had some roast chicken. I was expecting like a drumstick or something, but you get HALF chicken, and two sides! All for about $15-16 dollars! That's an incredible value by Disney World standards! Also, I had the jambalaya, and it was rather excellent. I don't think the food will necessarily blow you away here, but everything is well seasoned and tastes good. Service is nice for a quick service, and it's relatively quiet and comfortable. Easy to find a seat! Underrated WDW restaurant.

Ok I had to mark as a 3 because some dishes are WAY BETTER than others. The good dishes I had there were: the breakfast tatchos and the Gumbo. Both need to be seasoned for sure. They are bland cause I think they have to make it that way for all the different tastes that dine there. Easy fix, for tatchos add ketchup, hot sauce, and some good ole salt and pepper. For gumbo you need to add pepper, crushed red peppers (available for the pizza slices), and hot sauce and it makes it amazing. Now the bad dishes. Please avoid if you can. The chicken tenders....garbage. No flavor, nothing can save them. The sauces available are gross too. The bayou burger I got today at lunch was raw in the middle, the bacon was raw also. The last thing to avoid is the pizza slices, if you walking back to your room it will be cold no matter how close you are to this place. It's quick service so don't expect a lot. And ambiance is that of Mardi Gras but you should know that if you staying there already.

The breakfast food selection is quite diverse here. We have had the western omelet several times, as well as, the beignets. There are many other options, too. The omelets come with standard potato barrels (tater tots). The place is clean and perfect for a quick breakfast before heading out to the WDW parks. The cast members are also very pleasant. I like to fill my water bottle with ice cold water here, too.

This location inside Port Orleans French Quarter is a great option, especially if you are visiting Scat Cats or headed to Riverside to see Yehaa Bob. We ordered ahead and it made it super easy to pick up after grabbing a drink. The jambalaya and Gumbo are both fantastic, especially for quick service. Lots of flavor and a nice portion for the price. We tried the 50th macaron which unfortunately was not very good, too hard, but everything else was fantastic.

Typical resort food court options. Some favorites throughout our stay was the gumbo, burgers, and pizza. The jambalaya seemed like it was straight from a zatarans box with a few pieces of meat...not so good. Breakfast platters were just okay - the scrambled eggs definitely seemed like some type of egg product and not actual eggs. The breakfast potatoes were dry and old. I would stick to the Mickey waffles and breakfast meats.

I've had beignets from both Disney World and Disneyland. I have to say I just think Disneyland at Jazz Kitchen taste much better in the dough, the powdered sugar and the flavor is stronger. The one in Florida at New Orleans is not bad but it lacked that special flavor in every bite. They have seasonal flavor beignets as well but we just got the original Mickey shaped.

Great place for families! My boyfriend and I were visiting the New Orleans Resorts and were craving some soul food so decided to drop by here. Located in the French Quarter Resort, this food court has a diverse selection of food for those that are craving American or Soul food. There is plenty of seating indoors and a drink station in the middle. If you don't want an actual meal, right next door is where you can purchase beignets as a snack. We ordered the Shrimp & Grits and a slice of Pepperoni pizza to share. I'm blown away at how good the food was here. The chef was making the shrimp & grits fresh in front of us and the pizza slice was very big for the price. I would recommend anyone who happens to be at this resort to eat here for lunch or dinner. The shrimp & grits was a lot bigger than I thought. It was delicious, rich, and creamy. After a few bites, it did get a bit salty and heavy for me so luckily I shared it. The pizza was just your generic pizza and the crust was actually decent. It was not too doughy or crispy and had a good crunch to it.

If you stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter, this is your main source for food. The layout reminds me of the restaurants at IKEA-you go to different areas to order you food, then pay at one central cashier area. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Going with the New Orleans theme, they offer some Cajun dishes, such as gumbo, jambalaya, and beignets. The prices aren't too terrible. The Breakfast Waffle Bounty Platter is a really good deal. You get a ton of food for $12.79. As stated in other reviews, the eggs taste kinda weird, as they're probably those prescrambled liquid eggs some restaurants get, but everything else tasted good. My favorite thing I got here, I'm embarrassed to say, was the chicken tenders and fries. They were soooooo good! Plus this place has an area where you can get all kinds of sauces, which I love. You can also get free cups of water from the soda machine here.

Best quick service spot in Disney. As a picky eater, they really have something for everyone. Amazing pizza, one of my favorite on property. One of the only, if not the only, quick service location with grilled chicken. Their pasta and meatballs were alas so phenomenal. Their service is also great. Very kind, and give large portion sizes. Seam to enjoy their job and talk to their customers.

Stopped in today and absolutely loved it! Their menu in person has more options than the online ordering menu, so I'd suggest waiting to order in person for more options! Jessica made the shrimp and grits to order for us, and they were probably the best I've ever had. Staff is super kind, and the outside seating is great!

The ambiance is nice. So I had the Honey BBQ Pulled Pork burger, which sounds great but lacks a bit in flavor. Feels like I'm eating a sloppy joe, and the taste isn't too far off. The fries are fries, nothing spectacular. The chicken tenders are the same, the French dip is good and not over the top. If you're coming here for a quick snack and don't mind the lack of flavor, then this place is fine. Disney usually lacks in the food area in general, so I'm not disappointed with this quick grab-and-go style of meal.

We came to Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter just to go to Sassagoula and get beignets and we were really disappointed. They were pretty flavorless. I even tried one of the pumpkin spice ones and it was the same way. These are definitely not worth the trip. Our last Disney beignets were in Disneyland and they were so good. We were really looking forward to having the same ones again. This is the only thing we purchased at the food court area so I don't know about any other food item.

One of my favorite quick service, cafeteria style dining at Disney. The food is great no matter what time of day. And the staff is always friendly. Also, super close location to the pool, rooms, etc. Love this resort!

You have lots of good southern food options that can be found at the food court ranging from the classic Shrimp and Grits, Po Boy sandwiches, Jambalaya, and Gumbo. With a wide range of seating and time availability, Sassagoula is a good choice if you want to grab something quick or sit down and take it easy at your resort. You can't go wrong with the variety of options to choose from. If you're staying on property, I suggest getting a refillable cup which is good for up to three weeks. It only works at the resort and can not be refilled at the parks.

This food court, located in the French Quarter portion of Port Orleans resort, is definitely one of my favorite quick service restaurants at WDW. The setting is festive, airy, comfy, and clean, the service is quick, and the food isn't bad. We really liked the "mardi gras" theming of the seating area, complete with some awesome mask collections. In addition to being quite comfortable, this particular food court seems to have even more attendants than normal to help clear your plates. They also have restrooms right next to the seating area, which is super convenient (only a few Disney quick service restaurants have this). As for the food: the gumbo was quite tasty, and full of meat. The famous beignets were definitely amazing, and absolutely worth a trip (you can easily get here from any of the parks by a quick bus ride, or Disney Springs by a very pleasant water taxi ride). Not only did they taste great, but they were HUGE (and Mickey shaped, of course!) The one dish that was a big disappointment was the jambalaya: it was almost all rice (very little meat or veggies) and fairly tasteless. Avoid this particular dish. All in all, we're glad we made a trip out to Port Orleans to try this famous quick service restaurant!

Excellent food and friendly service! We had the Mickey waffle and the one day I had breakfast I indulged in the delicious beignet! Fresh hot fried donut with powdered sugar. Divine, served hot and delicious too! They're even shaped like Mickey too! I like the restaurant and my first meal there was a shrimp po boy. It was really good but very breast. (I ended up just eating the insides) they have a large and varied beer selection and little drinks to delight everyone. The help is friendly. Special shout out to the cashier, Olivia! She rocks!! The interior is fun and themed with Mardi Gras masks and it's clean with an abundance of seating. The grill opens at 7am, but the doors open at 6AM for us early risers. Get your coffee early, try the king cake and don't miss the beignets. I would stay at this hotel again because of their food! I missed out on having dinners and trying the cupcakes I've heard of because we made so many other reservations. Love Sassagoula Floatworks and I have for years and years!!

Worst cappuccino ever! Beignets were decent perhaps slightly undercooked but the fact that they are Mickey shaped they get a pass. The caramel dipping sauce was really good. I'd personally rather save my calories for a Dole Whip.

Just go get the Mickey beignets! They may be some of the best things I've ever tried. Warm and straight out of the oven. Get the strawberry sauce too!

We came here solely for the Mickey Beignets and Mickey Praline. Both were fine for being made at a Disney Resort, but they don't really hit the right flavors/textures of what you would get in New Orleans. But, they are Mickey shaped, so they have that going for them! When we went, they were making the beignets fresh, which is nice, but it also took forever and there were only 2 people in line ahead of us. Definitely could have been a more efficient way to get people through line while still offering freshly fried beignets. The praline's are available from grab-and-go.

Located in the lobby for the beautiful Port Orleans resort-- two stars for convenience, but otherwise take the time to go elsewhere! We tried both dinner and breakfast here and were let down both times. For the prices, they could do convenience much better. The pizza, pasta, breakfast sandwich, and omelette were all very bland. Edible, but tasteless. The "caesar salad" wasn't even romaine, more like the cheapest bagged salad with a packet of Cesar dressing to slap on the title and price. The breakfast potatoes were cold, and they offer zero customization to the entrees. There are so many better places around Disney to enjoy! So the Mickey beignets in a lot of these reviews ARE delicious, however, they are actually next-door at Scat Cat Cafe, which shares the lobby.

The cafeteria at the Port Orleans resort has some fun themed restaurants available, from desserts and coffee to full-fledged entrees. I came only for beignets and coffee. You can order beignets in orders of 3 or 6. Since there were 4 of us, we got 6. Of course, my sister ended up not wanting any so the rest of us had 3 each. They were pretty tasty - not the best beignets I've had, but definitely passable, especially with a cup of espresso. I almost ordered a cappuccino when I noticed the espresso maker in the back had a "latte" option, which is usually my espresso drink of choice. It wasn't on the menu, but I figured I would try to order it and the worst I could get is no. As I ordered the latte, the guy behind the counter immediately filled up a cup with the button marked "latte." When paying at the register, the guy had trouble finding "latte" on the POS system they use. He finally just rung me up for an espresso, which saved me $1 on what would have been a tiny $3-4 cappuccino! Overall, for coffee, we've got some Starbucks prices for some smaller than Starbucks drinks (but now you know my "latte" hack). If stopping by for a quick snack, beignets are the way to go!

The atmosphere of this place is great because it's in Disney and themed well. Food is pretty good but nothing amazing. Had the shrimp poboy and it had a lot of shrimps!! Also a bit too much bread. I ended up eating it with a fork. The chips were overcooked and sort of stale. Now the real reason to go here is the Mickey Beignets!!! They are cooked up fresh and delicious. Smothered in powdered sugar and dipped in jam makes them even better! I can't wait to go back and try their new beignet bar!!!

Ugh I was disappointed in this place. I assume most of the Disney quick service restaurants are similar but it was just slightly upgraded MCL cafeteria food and so stinking pricey. The prime rib sandwhich wasn't the best. Best thing was probably the fries which did come out nice and hot.

Sassagoula is nothing fancy, but it does the trick. I had beignets for breakfast 3x during my stay and loved them each time. Although they're not Mickey-shaped like the ones at Disneyland, the beignets were pretty solid. There was always one really inconsistent doughy one but I love doughy. I know that's not true to NOLA beignets, but still tasty! We also had the breakfast po'boy (Scrambled Eggs, House-smoked Ham, Red Pepper Aïoli, Shredded Cheese, and Roasted Peppers and Onions - $8.99). It was a huge portion and the house-smoked ham was delicious. They also let me get the mini-mickey waffles as a side!

I came here on a mission for one thing and one thing only, the beignet sundae. For those who don't the beignet is New Orleans version of the doughnut. In my opinion the beignet is one of the best Disney desserts you can get. My trusted guide Disney Food Blog recommended getting cappuccino ice cream so I got that along with the Nutella ice cream. I would just pick one flavor next time, but it was still good. Now how good is it in my opinion, real good but not amazing. This is definitely worth a try.

Crazy enough, I stopped by Sassagoula more often in the mornings to grab a King Cake to go for breakfast almost every morning when I wasn't getting Beignets! Lots of good southern food options can be found at the food court ranging from the classic Po Boy sandwiches, Jambalaya, and Gumbo. With a wide range of seating and time availability, Sassagoula is a good choice if you want to grab something quick or sit down and take it easy at your resort. The bakery onsite is also a great place to find special cupcakes such as the Cinderella Cupcake which has a yellow cake base filled with strawberry cream and topped with pink buttercream, a sugar slipper, and glitter - its like eating magic! On the last day of our trip before we left for the airport, we grabbed lunch at the food court. My wife and I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and it was great. The dish was cooked to order and served piping hot, no cafeteria line or prepackaged nonsense in sight. The grits were perfectly cooked and served with a creamy sauce that had a good hint of Cajun spice. Shrimp were nice and plump and to top it off it was sprinkled with cheese, green onions, and ham. The portion size was huge and could have fed two of us if we were aiming to have a lighter lunch. It was the perfect lunch to cap off a great trip filled with culinary delights before we had to endure the airport and fly home.

Located inside the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. We stayed here and I cannot tell you how convenient this ended up. We arrived late Saturday night, and was able to get a mobile order rather quickly including gluten free. That night I got the chicken Alfredo, very good. My wife got a burger with a GF bun, fantastico! During our trip to Disney we had dinner here twice more because it was so easy after being at the park all day. Wife liked the burger so much that I tried one the next time, delicious. They next time kept it simple with chicken strips. My wife also enjoyed the GF Mac n cheese. This is a great place for old people after a day at Disney and probably any kid would love this food as well. Good pricing

One of the better food courts you can find in my opinion. Gumbo, po'boy sandwiches, jambalaya, beignets, and a few other Nola favorites served up here. I felt that they got the dishes right, I was skeptical as most are when it comes to this type of cuisine, but they did a great job. The food court style provides the options and convenience to dine as you need to, if you're staying here this is a fine choice and if you want to come here for some Nola cooking it's worth a stop.

Going into here, my expectations were average. I thought the food was going to satisfy my hunger but not my palate. I wasn't going to be surprised with anything. Mostly true, but this is the issue with preconceived judgements right? Most of the food is average. It gets super busy during peak times and not enough cashiers. Consequently, the lines can get long which gets annoying because you want to grab food and just go, and you can't. However, if you have the time to wait for an order of Beignets, you may be surprised. They are better than I expected. They are fresh and don't just taste like oil. You'll get them warm and with a healthy layer of powdered sugar. It's no Cafe Du Monde, but I'll still be happy to order them here.

This restaurant is like a little piece of New Orleans right smack dab in the middle of a Port Orleans hotel in Orlando. Mind you though, I've never been to NOLA, but if the food there taste like how it does here, I'm booking my ticket right now! Me, my husband, and 2 of our close friends stayed at the Port Orleans and on our last day decided to eat at Sassagoula, which is attached and inside of the outdoor style hotel. This place isn't fine dining, it's cafeteria style. When you walk in they have an electronic menu board which changes every couple of minute so you can see the different food selections. They have 3 or 4 stations that focus on specific entrees and appetizers. You grab a tray, order your food, they hand it to you, and then you bring it to the cashier to pay. From there you go to the dining area and pick where to sit. All of us ordered a different dish and we all ended up trying one another's. There wasn't one dish I didn't like, so just go in a big group so you can try everything! So we got to taste the Jambalaya that came with a HUGE piece of corn bread, (the rice was a tad bit dry, but good and the corn bread was moist and soft) the Shrimp and Grits, (creamy and delicious), a small cup of gumbo (oozing with flavor and a bit of heat), and two Shrimp Po' Boy sandwiches with house made chips on the side (can't go wrong with this classic). The real winner of this show were their beignets. We ordered a batch of six with extra powdered sugar on the side, because you can never have enough powdered sugar! After eating all that food, one beignet is definitely enough to fill you up. But they were so fluffy, mouth watering, and delicious; I miss them right now just thinking about it. So if you're in the mood for some Southern Cajun food and if you're in the area (or even if you're not, who cares) I highly recommend this place. In my quick visit to Disney Springs, I wanted to experience as many things as I could without spending an *insane* amount of money. Finding a middle ground meant resorting to one of my favorite hobbies: being a foodie. And what's being a Disney foodie without some Mickey-shaped beignets?!! Beignets remind me of French donuts and they are served here powdered, plain, or part of a sundae and you can request dipping sauces like caramel on the side. Decently priced and incredibly delicious, I love stopping for beingets! I really wish this location was closer to everything else or that there was more to do in this area - if you're in the main shopping area of Disney springs, you'd have to take the ferry to reach this destination. It's worth it if you have the time and want to see a view of Disney from the river though; I personally loved it!

Came here to check out the pumpkin spice Mickey beignets. But we had to have dinner first. I decided to go with the build your own rice bowl. I choose the shrimp, black beans and dirty rice. My rice and beans were scooped into a bowl. Then came the shrimp and sauce. I saw a pre-made package removed and opened up, poured over my rice. I didn't want to see that. My shrimp pretty much melted in my mouth and didn't require much chewing. So that wasn't fresh for sure. My friend ordered shrimp and grits. I had a bite of her shrimp. It tasted like shrimp. The beignets were fresh out of the fryer. We tried the pumpkin spice and regular beignets. They were cute mickey shaped beignets. They were alright. You can't compare to New Orleans beignets. I wish I'd try something different. But this is a hotel cafe style quick service.

This great quick service food court (it counts as a QS credit on the Disney Dining Plan) is at the Port Orleans French Quarter resort at Walt Disney World. It has a fun Mardi Gras theme with tons of seating, open from 6am to midnight each day. I really think the Mardi Gras decorations here make it one of the more interesting Disney resort food courts...they are so cute & fun! A unique item Sassagoula has that sets it apart from other Disney food places is it keeps in the Louisiana Mardi Gras themeing by offering Beignets! I had never had one before and they really are a LA treat of powder sugary goodness! Either eat 6 Beignets for $4.29 or 3 for $2.99. They serve another couple of Louisiana yummies - Creole, Gumbo & Jambalaya. They, of course, have the infamous Disney World chicken tenders in the food court, too. something about the Disney chicken tenders just sets them apart...perfectly crisp and tender! They also have the usual sandwiches, hot dogs, pizzas, burgers and desserts Just tons of choices of foods. And they have the refillable mugs here! Score! It's great to stop by Sassagoula after a long day in the parks! Now this is never somewhere I would venture specifically to go to but if you are staying at POFQ or POR, it's a great food place with a bit more then the usual Disney food courts!

Small food court, but you come here for the beignets. Its not the best, and by far not NOLA, but its still a treat. I wish they had better coffee to go with the beignets. Food wise, its ok. Service could be better. Many of the workers have an attitude. Not sure if they really don't want to be working there, or, if that's the attitude of the "south" or New Awlins types. Whatever. Don't need to give me attitude when I'm confuseed what's considered a snack point or an entree! I'm a tourist with a food plan, not a local regular. 3 stars for the service, and perpahs the lack of selection for a food court. Riverside, just down the walkway, has more variety, but no beignets.

Yes the beignets are that good! They are a fried dough lover's dream! And what makes them so wonderful is that you order, pay, (or get your Disney snack credit counted), then pick them up after they are freshly prepared to your order. There's no dawdling...you must dash to a table and sink your teeth into the hot pillowy doughy goodness while it's freshly hot! Be careful to not inhale the powdered sugar, or you will cough. (good luck with that) Do know that while they look gigantic, they are hollow inside, so it's not a solid chunk of dough. These are light. A snack order of three is perfect for two to share. We also tried breakfast our last morning, needing to use up two counter-service credits. Husband chose the Big Bounty Breakfast, which was a nice variety of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and a Mickey waffle. Nothing to jump up and down about, but good. I opted for a Western omelet with a Mickey waffle (instead of the taters), since I had never had a Mickey-shaped waffle before and I can get breakfast potatoes anywhere. The omelet was quite good, with cheese, ham, peppers and onions. It even managed to stay warm after standing in the check-out line. (wish they served everything like they do the beignets...pay first, then pick up your food). Mickey didn't fare quite so well staying warm, but he still tasted good. I liked that they had sugar-free syrup as an option. Otherwise, the only time we used this dining facility was to get the plastic refillable mugs (purple for me, green for Husband...the only two color choices) that came with our dining plan, and to fill them periodically. My choice was always the Pike's unsweetened tea. Not bad. I liked that they had lemon slices out for it. I will say that one day we saw a couple of the po'boys go out to folks and boy did they look GOOD. Much better than the sample ones looked. So good, that we were tempted to ask for a late check-out our last day just to try them, but decided that 11 was too late to wait for them. We wished they would have offered them all the time...not everyone has to have traditional breakfast food, just sayin'. (sigh, we know we're odd that way).

Really only come here for the beignets lol especially now that they are Mickey shaped! Freshly fried right in front of you. I've had the breakfast sandwiches before too, they are tasty and come with a bowl of tater tots.

Had to update my review because I recently stayed and ate again in this quick service restaurant. All I can say is wow! I honestly had such a great experience this time around and had breakfast and lunch there almost every single day. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I had shrimp and grits for dinner so many times that I can't even count!!! They also had a breakfast version of shrimp and grits with egg which was equally good. Amazing flavors throughout any shrimp and grits dish you get here guaranteed. I had a wonderfully yummy omelette from the "create your own omelet" section and potatoes as well one morning. I also bought a resort mug during my stay which I highly recommend if you don't want to rack up around four bucks every time you want a soda. Also includes coffee!!! This is easily my favorite quick service restaurant on Disney property.
