This small art museum in downtown Pomona is truly a gem. I’ve been there numerous times and seen a lot of great art. Every exhibit, every time has had wonderful, compelling art; some by local artists (past and present, some well known and others not).
One of my recent visits featured a large number of works by Milford Zornes, a well known and much loved local artist; many pieces were from his time spent in Asia during World War II.
Another artist, Kati Thomsen, based in California’s Central Valley, was featured, with many works that were compelling and beautiful.
Downtown Pomona may have seen better times, but it looks like it is working mightily to spruce up its vibe. Don’t let nervousness or fear dissuade you from visiting the Sasse Museum! It is well worth it!
