Where to Eat Around the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport | Eater Twin Cities

"A dedicated gluten-free restaurant, complete with glutenless beer and wine, Sassy Spoon nicely fills a niche for those with dietary restrictions. That said, anyone can love a good gluten-free meal, especially with a miso-braised pork plate – roasted pulled pork with pickled onions and ginger-garlic slaw. And add an egg, because why not?" - Will Simons

The best restaurants and bars near Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis | Eater Twin Cities

"This restaurant is nothing short of an ultra-fresh umami-bomb. Creative, delicious, and surprisingly good for you—everything on Chef Tamara Brown’s menu is gluten-free and locally and sustainably sourced. While it’s difficult to pick just one thing from a menu that incorporates everything from American classics to Asian-inspired fare, don’t skip the miso-braised pork. Just, don’t." - Eater Staff

We had a fantastic experience at The Sassy Spoon! Everything from the food to the service was absolutely excellent. We started with the pork fried dumplings—perfectly crispy and flavorful. I had the lamb gyro, which was tender and well-seasoned. Our son ordered the chicken fried rice and loved it, while our daughter enjoyed the fresh and vibrant summer salad. My husband went with the chicken masala, which was rich and full of flavor. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and quick. The decor added to the fun, lively atmosphere and really made the place feel special. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food and great vibes!

Google
Our server was amazing and helped us with our food selections. He asked several times if any of us had any dietary restrictions or allergies, something we all appreciated. I ordered fresh coconut water, 5 spice mango shrimp, and pork fried dumplings. The prices are great and the atmosphere is so cute! There's plenty of outdoor seating, too, featuring a covered porch and open picnic tables. It's definitely worth stopping for a visit regardless if you like Indian food or are looking for a more traditional American meal. There's a reason this place is so highly rated!

Google
My family and I had the pleasure of eating at Sassy Spoon. Such a diverse menu from Indian, American, Caribbean, Greek, Chinese cuisine. I would highly recommend if you are in the area of Cape Canaveral, Florida. We had the Lamb Gyro, excellent seasoning and fresh meat. My mom had the Stew Oxtail with penguin pea rice and sweet plantains, my mom said it reminded her of her moms cooking! My grandma ordered the Curry Goat (Caribbean) she is particularly picky with goat from her experience but this hit the spot!

We stopped by Sassy Spoon on our way back from the Kennedy Space Center. While searching for a highly rated restaurant on Google, we came across this place and decided to give it a try — and I’m glad we did. The food, atmosphere, and location were all excellent. Although there was a slight delay in serving the food, they informed us about it beforehand, so we had no complaints. We tried a few Indian dishes, and they were quite decent.

Google
Literally five stars on everything! The place is so cute and very welcome! The server was very sweet and they made sure that if we had any allergies, that they would serve that specific restriction! Our friend has celiac disease and she was able to eat their food. Honestly, would highly recommend! Also, the southwest burger is what I got and it was top notch!

Google
Cute, laid back environment with a nice variety of Indian/Asian & American foods. The selections ranged from Naan and other traditional Indian dishes to great salads, chicken wings, sandwiches, etc. Our only (small) complaint was that a Greek salad should have crisp, raw onions (instead of cooked) and no peppers:( Everything else was great!!! Would definitely come back!

Google
After a very hot and busy day, my wife and I found this oasis of tranquility and excellent service. The food was delicious, freshly prepared, with good prices and an unusual variety. The atmosphere was relaxed, the place clean and organized. The waiter's attention was above and beyond. He was always friendly and professional with all the customers. I recommend this place 100%.

Google
Absolutely delicious! We came here based on the reviews while visiting from out of town — all the way from Texas — and it did not disappoint! The food is one-of-a-kind and incredibly flavorful. If we ever find ourselves back on this side of Florida, we’ll definitely be back. If you’re looking for something beyond the typical beachside bar food while enjoying the coast, this is your spot. Don’t miss out!

Yelp
Went there for breakfast several times while on vacation. Breakfast was consistently delicious. The food is well prepared and not greasy. The service and atmosphere were pleasant and our waitress was funny.

Yelp
First time I came in. What a great little gem! What an amazing menu with a ton of variety.
google avatar

Yelp
Food and service were both outstanding. My son and I both had wraps, chicken caesar and chicken tiki. Portions were large and very tasty

Yelp
Amazingly good food in Cape Canaveral. We are here on vacation and were pleased to find a spot with all kinds of food. The Indian food is great. We had the Goat Rogan Josh and Butter Chicken and Lamb Biryani. The Naan is also freshly made. Big shout out to the Samosas.
google avatar

Marchet F.

Yelp
The food was absolutely incredible. We had a party of five and each of us ordered something different. All five choices were amazing. I had the Panang Curry with shrimp (mild for the curry).
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Thai curries were excellent and so was the service. We will definitely return. They also have Indian food and we will try that next.

Judy S.

Yelp
Fabulous food. We ordered a wide variety of dishes and all were excellent. It's a tiny place but they handled our party of 8 without a problem. It is a real gem. The food was truly excellent

Alecia D.

Yelp
Great place, great atmosphere, AK awesome and the food was delicious! I had the oxtail, shrimp, and samosas.
google avatar

Isaac A.

Yelp
Great service and good pricing. Get one of the Asian dishes for sure. Note that the spice is a lot less intense than if you were ordering Thai food: I got hot and felt it fell between mild and medium. Inside, there are some random trinkets and a wagon, so the theme of the place wasn't clear to me. Again, go there for the food.

Kathleen D.

Yelp
The food was terrible and overpriced. I will not go back and would definitely not recommend. I ended up throwing most of it away and I spent over $80 on it. VERY DISAPPOINTING! I seldom write reviews but feel this one was necessary as this place was so highly rated. The owner commented that this is a fake review. It is not. I was a customer last night. Hokka Noodles - made with shrimp, flavorless, greasy and made with thin spaghetti Beef & Broccoli- beef was really chewy, poor cut with gristle - inedible Sweet & Sour chicken - bland Chicken Satay - probably the best part of the meal but not great Chicken fried rice - greasy & bland

Yelp
The food and service were amazing! I will definitely be back to eat here at the Sassy Spoon.

Yelp
Best Indian food I had in a while, highly recommend this place. We were in a group and had multiple different dishes and none of them disappointed.

Yelp
Food is outstanding. Servers are very attentive. Highly recommend giving it a try. Lots of options for everyone.

Yelp
We ordered delivery so can only speak on the food. Loved the vegan options as almost everything on the menu could be made vegan by just choosing a plant based protein or just veggies. We got the fried rice with tofu and added a note for no egg. Also got the massaman curry with tofu and cashew tofu. Everything was great! I really enjoyed the massaman. Curries are always a bit different from place to place. This was different than other massaman curries and delicious. The flavorful potatoes and peanuts made the dish.

Yelp
Nice ambience and delicious food with a creative menu. I would have liked this review to contain fewer words so I didn't waste you time or mine explaining the wonderful details of this fabulously fantastic dining experience, but this app will not allow me to post any kind of abbreviated review. It desires intense focus and detail. I'm puzzled if that is even helpful, as a simple orshould suffice. That being said, without further ado, I will give an honest from the very depths of my heart.

Yelp
I was a little skeptical of this many styles of food, but it turned out they were all delicious. My ten year old had the dumplings and loved them. My wife got the Chana masala loved it. I got both the red curry and the Japanese eggplant which were both delicious, and my older son got the butter tofu and loved it. We'll be back. Great food! Great vegetarian and vegan options, and great Indian, Thai, and Japanese food. We'll be back for the chinese!

Yelp
Great great food. Delivered quickly by a very nice man. Love this place! Just do it!

Yelp
I gave this restaurant a 5 last time I went, but this time I had to knock it down a few stars. The service was extremely slow. He seemed to bothered by the fact that we didn't wanna sit by the door, even though we're the only people in the restaurant. he gave us the menus and disappeared. Then when he did come back he just stood behind the counter. We just waited and waited till I finally had to tell him we were ready to order the food took about 45 minutes which I understand it's made fresh, but it was quite a bit longer than last time and he kept apologizing that it was so long even though we were the only people in the restaurant. The food was good. The portions were a little small for $20 an entrée it was I ordered the curry and you just get curry and a small scoop of rice no non-or anything else it is $18 if you don't add a protein, but just chicken was an additional two dollars. the waiter/owner really doesn't have any sense of being a waiter. He should probably just stick to a piece to cooking and hire a waiter that has experience. Didn't ask us if we wanted anything to drink didn't bring us extra napkins. Didn't check to see if everything was OK. Seemed a little odd. Probably won't be going back even though I enjoyed the food.

Yelp
I posted this on another site and am reposting here (with edits) because I think so highly of this family-run start up after coming here a third time. Great food, super friendly and helpful staff, cool vibe. What more could you ask for from a joint named Sassy Spoon? The breakfast burrito and home fries were cooked to perfection and the iced latte was so much better than Starbucks. Came back for dinner and Goat Rogan Josh, a stewed goat over rice that was tender, juicy, flavorful and appealing to the eye, with just the right amount of heat (I ordered medium and it made my eyes water and my nose run but wasn't painful and didn't detract from the flavor in the least = perfect!). This place is the real deal, a local gem that really delivers. And no, I have no connection to the business. I'm an out of town business traveler, who saw Sassy Spoon on the web and gave them a try. So glad I did.

Yelp
Quite the selection of food, very impressive. All orders are made from scratch so have some patience. But it will be worth it. The service was exceptional and the outdoor seating was nice with shade and sunny spots available. Both the salmon salad and shrimp salad were excellent. Quite the variety on the menu including a large selection of Indian food. The only downside I would say is the water (no ice) was tap and unfiltered, and the ice tea was bottled.

Yelp
I had a lovely time at this hidden gem and the two servicing were super lovely and quick for how much the party ordered. I had a fresh order of Goat Rogan Josh and Garlic Naan- way above your normal. The naan was pleasantly fresh with garlic and not too heavy. The restaurant theme is fun with flowers and benches outside with various animal themes. The parking is plentiful and if you don't have time to sit call ahead and grab/go.

Yelp
Food was absolutely delicious, not only spectacularly plated, but well seasoned and not too sweet or salty. The lovely gentleman taking care of us (Kiran) went above and beyond in all aspects and was truly a joy to interact with. Don't be fooled by an empty parking lot, this place is worth it.

Phil B.

Yelp
Food was really good. Wish some of it was more authentic instead of Americanized. Seems to be suited mostly for takeout which is probably good for that area.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent Tikka Masala, next time we are back in Florida we will stop here again. Our son and family were all pleased with everything. Even with ages from 73 to 7 years old . Best meal we had on our cruise trip.
google avatar

Tammy C.

Yelp
While visiting Coco Beach, I decided to stop and grab something to eat before heading back to the resort. I was pleasantly impressed by the quality of the food and service at this little joint. The menu offers a variety of options, including hamburgers, salads, Indian, Chinese cuisine, Thai, and pasta to name a few. Stop by and check it out - I promise you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
Breakfast food was great. Wraps, French toast, eggs, etc. Their breakfast potatoes are the best I've ever had! So flavorful no need for catsup. I will be back to try lunch and dinner.

Yelp
We ordered out. I typically love Indian food and my husband doesn't so I was excited we both had options. I had the saag and it was meh at best. I was really disappointed. It was watery and bland. My husband had the kung pao and was only slightly happier than I was which raised it to a 3.

Dominic V.

Yelp
Good food. Very small place with few tables. Food was excellent . Yes.. I would recommend this place. Only one person does everything during our visit.

Chris P.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The service was prompt and very knowledgeable. The setting was very cozy.

Meghan K.

Yelp
Great service and great food (with a lot of vegan options)! Only a small amount of indoor seating.
google avatar

Yelp
Highly recommend the chicken tikka masala! Will definitely come back again. The customer service was also superb
google avatar

Yelp
The food was so good here! And the variety of different foods and flavors is very unique. They have Indian to Chinese to even some Italian styled dishes. This spices are on point for the Indian and Thai food and it's a great family place to take people with different tastes! Really impressed:)
google avatar

Shauna E.

Yelp
LOVE IT!! This place is fantastic with amazing food of all different varieties with a vast menu of something for everyone. The owners and staff are so nice. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Even made a dish for us that was not on the menu and asked which of 3 ways we would like it prepared. My wife said I t was the best Lemon Chicken she's ever had. It would be great if they could move into the closed Bonefish Grille. A couple dollars more would be worth it for a more upscale ambiance. In the meantime we will definitely be going back wherever they are.

Wayne F.

Yelp
Was our first visit. Servers noted the chef/owner was highly trained. New to the area from other locations including Caribbean. Delicious, very fresh food of varied types (5-10 offerings each of Thai, Chinese, Indian, risotto, burgers, steaks). Simple beverages including bottle beers and wine. Casual environment. Few indoor tables plus outside benches. Ample parking. We'll return to sample other dinner dishes. A brunch menu also offered. Hours 10-8 weekdays, 9-8 weekends.

Yelp
I had Penang Curry, my wife had butter chicken. Both were excellent. The service was attentive. The place is cute. I'd recommend

Yelp
Cute new spot in Cape Canaveral. Really friendly staff/owners. Food was really nice!

Fred Z.

Yelp
Had an extensive menu. Really enjoyed the chicken tikka masala. Everything tasted really great except for the naan

Betsy S.

Yelp
Took some family visiting tonight for dinner. We all had different things. All the food was delicious. Service was excellent. Small restaurant, but big flavor!. Please give this restaurant a try! You won't be sorry!

Cristal R.

Yelp
The food was very tasty. The noodles were just right and the service was very helpful.

Chris L.

Yelp
We used to eat there just about every afternoon and then one afternoon they told us that they quit serving lunch specials so we decided to take our business elsewhere
google avatar

Priscilla R.

Yelp
This place is phenomenal. Give it a chance...if you're unsure. I had the Goat Rogan Josh. Order medium hot if you like spicy but maybe can't hang with Indian hot. You can also ask for raita on the side. My partner ordered chicken cordon bleu with roasted potatoes and delicious. We were with four others that ordered the chicken piccata, Hakka noodles, and butter chicken masala and everyone loved what they ordered. We shared too, and I can vouch . If you want to support a local business, show your love to Sassy! Finally, they knew it was our friend's birthday and they brought out the most amazing complimentary dessert of pineapple upside-down cake and a layered lemon merengue cake. So stop reading this and get i over there! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
There are a lot of food types, and everything was good that we tried! My daughter, like the tiki masala!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is super good, the service was amazing! The food options are endless! You can't go wrong eating here!

Rowley R.

Yelp
Great food, great service, and nice decor. The outside area has a cool patio with a nice mural.
google avatar

Yelp
We ordered eggplant tofu with chicken and Lamb Biryani - low spice. We ate inside and enjoyed both dishes. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Good service. Good food. You need to try this place.

Brian S.

Yelp
It's all about the staff/owners. They are so kind and accommodating. The most common phrase is tell me what you would like. The food was outstanding as well. You can tell everyone is all in with this restaurant. My chicken sandwich was a great value and very tasty. It is topped with so many different items, but the chicken itself has good flavor. We tried the chicken fried rice, and it was nicely seasoned, medium hot as requested. They have a hot line they serve from for lunch. You can choose three sides and a main protein. This was only $9.99 for Indian dishes and a bit more for salmon/ribs. They asked us to try the flavors, and they were great.
google avatar

Makena F.

Yelp
Great food and the owner is wonderful! Very kind and gave us complementary drinks and appetizers.
