The 25 Best Restaurants & Bars In Santa Barbara

"You can find great wine in many of Santa Barbara's tasting rooms, but if all you want to drink is pet-nats, head to Satellite on Upper State Street. Even if you know next to nothing about wine, this natural wine bar has a tightly curated wine list and a staff skilled at helping you find something exciting within any budget. Bottles line the walls behind the bar, and most glasses cost around $15. The huge sidewalk patio is where to snack on roasted parsnips and a cheese plate while watching the parade of adorable dogs strutting down the street like they own it. Some of the best vegetarian food I've ever had, and a beautiful place to enjoy the sunset! We had the tomato confit, charred broccolini, and cheese plate - all were absolutely incredible; even my non-vegetarian friend loved the food. Nice wine selection, friendly staff, and a lovely spot by State Street - an amazing introduction for a first-time visitor to Santa Barbara!

To me, a perfect place. Delicious, local and thoughtful food with divine natural wine. Can’t recommend their sunshine spritz and tomato confit enough!!

Loved it! As we’re travelling around the US for 6 months and looking for places with natural wine we were thrilled to find Satellite on our quick stop in SB. We had an early dinner with our kids and loved it. everything was delicious. Bought a few bottles too. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed my experience here. I don't usually go out to eat salad, but the execution on the dishes was excellent. I also appreciated the quick service after my order was placed. The atmosphere is original; I'll always keep this spot in mind when I'm in the area.

I can see why everyone loves this place so much. It is truly to die for. We came for lunch after the SB farmers market right at opening - thank god because it packed in! we sat in the window and people watched while enjoying their N/A wine option which was delish and refreshing. For food we had the vegan mac, potato salad, yoga pants salad, and spinach & artichoke dip. Truly every single item was 10/10. The potato salad came with charcoal sourdough from Oat which was literally divine. I would have never thought to par those two but it was a grand slam. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience and the food quality - everything was so fresh and full of flavor. We are still talking about how wonderful our experience was. Also the ambiance is tasteful, laid back, and very creative.

Oh my god. This place is delicious. We had the Gigante Confit and the Grilled Cheese and both were the best we’ve tasted. They went together sublimely. Took the gorgeous lemon olive oil cake to savor later. Sitting on State Street and savoring good company, good music and flow of people to watch, birdsong and beauty all around…just the experience we most appreciate visiting beautiful Santa Barbara. ♥️

I like their mission of using whole, locally sourced ingredients and their salad reflected that, but the grilled cheese we got was lacking flavour and was quite dry. The wine and beer we got was good but overall the portions are smaller and the prices are not. Good to maybe stop by for a snack and a drink!
