Where To Eat Outside In Jersey City & Hoboken - New York - The Infatuation

"On a quiet block in Paulus Hook, Satis Bistro is now serving Mediterranean dishes outdoors starting at 5pm Wednesday to Friday, and 12pm Saturday and Sunday. And since you’re probably not the only one who’s into the idea of eating cacio e pepe and drinking a glass of wine on their patio, head to their website and reserve a table. If you’re looking to have a private party, know that they can also host groups of up to 16 people." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, matt tervooren

Satis Bistro - Review - Jersey City - New York - The Infatuation

"Satis looks like a converted loft you might find in Brooklyn Heights, but the high-ceilinged, brick-walled bistro is on a quiet street in Paulus Hook. You don’t need to eat here and spend $18 on a small portion of bland cacio e pepe, but keep the attractive space in mind for a glass of wine on a weekend afternoon or during Happy Hour, which is offered everyday from 4-6pm in the bar room next door. Google
We found Satis Bistro while looking for a Saturday brunch spot in Jersey City and were able to get a table right away — no wait, which was great! We sat outside on a quiet street, and the staff was super accommodating since our friends came with two small kids. They helped set up extra chairs and even looked for a high chair, which we really appreciated. I ordered a mimosa and avocado toast, while others got pasta, a burger, and coffee. Everything tasted good — nothing extraordinary, but solid brunch food. The avocado toast was fresh and tasty, just a bit pricey for what it was (about $30 per person with a drink). Service was honestly the highlight. Our server and busboy were both so kind and attentive (but maybe we just got lucky) — really made the experience better. The place itself is cute, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Overall, a nice brunch spot in downtown JC with friendly service and good food, though slightly on the expensive side. I’d give it a solid 4/5.

We’ve dined at Satis a few times before, and every visit has been wonderful, great food, warm atmosphere, and an overall amazing vibe. So when it came time to celebrate our wedding anniversary, choosing Satis as our venue was an easy decision. We booked out the entire restaurant, both floors and the bar, and it turned out to be the perfect setting for the night. I can’t thank Emily, Theo, and the entire Satis team enough! They were incredible from start to finish, attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. Every guest raved about how delicious the food was, how skilled the bartenders were, and how elegant the space looked. The energy was joyful all night, with people enjoying their meals, laughing at the bar, and having a blast at the photo booth upstairs. My only regret is not having a photographer there to capture how beautiful everything was! Thank you again for making our night so special, it was truly unforgettable!!

I stopped into this restaurant for a quick lunch! We were greeted when we walked in. We were served by a nice guy I think was the owner. I ordered the lamb burger and it came out in about 15 minutes. I also had a Mimosa! I enjoyed the lamb burger! All in all a good experience!

We just had our daughter’s bridal shower at Satis on Saturday. It was the perfect place for this special event. The staff was amazing and so was the food. I could not have been happier and look forward to continuing to be patron of this wonderful restaurant and highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect place to celebrate family and friends.

The place was absolutely amazing! The food, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. A special shoutout to Chef Alex, who truly made the experience next level with his incredible dishes and attention to detail. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Hosted my daughter’s baby shower today at Satis. Everything was fabulous! My guests all raved about the atmosphere, food & service. Eddie couldn’t have been more attentive & professional. I’m so happy I chose Satis for my event.

We’ve been coming here very often for the past three years, and the food has always been high quality and absolutely delicious. For brunch, the chicken sandwich is a dream. For dinner, the lobster risotto, crab cakes, meat, and salads are all highly recommended. The service is also excellent- always kind and attentive. They always bring a bowl of water for my dogs, which I really appreciate.

I went here with my wife for their NYE special event. The menu was specific to the event. I ordered the Prawns with caviar as my app, Branzino Filet with blood orange beurre blanc and the lemoncello creme brule for dessert. Everything was delicious. The Prawns were served head and tail on, which is great, but no wipes beyond my napkin was provided so it got a little messy removing them. The blood orange beurre blanc made the main course dish. It was a tad sweet and could have used a touch of acid to help brighten it a little more but there's no denying it was delicious. Full sprigs of rosemary and thyme were under the filet with the asparagus, I don't think they were necessary. And was a component I had to move to the side of my dish since I wasn't going to eat a whole spring of herbs. The creme brulee was cooked/set perfectly. It was t too tight or too loose. The anise biscotti served along side it was a nice touch. We ordered a half bottle of white wine. I'm no wine expert so the recommendation was made by our server. I enjoyed it and felt it properly complemented the meal. I appreciated the half bottle offering. The service is only put at 4 stars because I was a bit slow. We often times had to get the attention of the staff to be attended to. But when they did come they were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The atmosphere I put at a 4. It felt a little cramped at our 2 top with the sparkling water bottle, the white wine, 2 sets of glasses each, plus plates and tableware. They did adorn each table with fun NYE party favors. While cute, it did just end up taking away more space.the table legs weren't completely level which resulted in a slightly rocking table, resolved by me resting my foot on one of the legs for the entire dinner. The restaurant itself was nicely sized with a fun European theme. We sat upstairs and enjoyed our view of the restaurant and the din wasn't so loud that we couldn't easily enjoy a personal conversation amongst ourselves. Overall, really enjoyed the evening and would recommend others to eat here too. We plan on returning for a regular dinner service in the future.

Yelp
While on a stroll we passed this place and decided that moment we'd return for dinner. Euro style bistro, we enjoyed the outdoor dining area. For dinner we started with the burrata, excellent choice. I warmed up with rosé and my husband had Pinot noir. My husband got a pasta dish, Pappardelle Bolognese- delish! I tasted it...3x. I got a special, a tuna and quinoa dish (see photo) it was good, intriguing flavors...I do wish it were hot, but that's a personal preference and the taste was still fantastic. The service was nice, very much a communal effort, as I couldn't really tell who our assigned waiter was- but we were taken care of. Thank you to the hostess. They were very prompt and compassionate accommodating and walk-in couple w/ baby and doggo.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance at this American/italian restaurant. Located on Washington St of JC, parking may be a bit difficult to find depending on the day of week/time of day. There are 2 entrances- one brings you downstairs to the bar. This is a small space with a row of barstools. The second entrance on the other side is for the main restaurant. I tried the Negroni cocktail, burrata app, and pappardelle bolognese. Everything tasted amazing and I def will be returning.

Yelp
Lovely local restaurant in JC. Reservation is recommended if you have a big group. Nice and relaxing vibe inside. They have a heavy curtain at the door so cool air won't come in directly (very thoughtful). The waiter is attentive and very friendly. I have steak (medium) and egg. It's cooked beautifully. Great flavor. I don't like their unsweetened ice tea; it tastes burned to me. But other than that, everything is great. It's good for friends/family gathering.

Yelp
Cool spot to grab a dinner in Jersey City. The interior certainly gives off a European vibe. I was a big fan of the partially exposed brick wall. We ordered the following items: 1) Patatas Bravas: this was a solid choice. Got a nice kick with the aioli. 2) Brussel Sprouts: this was okay. I think the cheese overpowered it a bit. 3) Burrata Basil Linguine: this was pretty good. Not a terribly large serving, but enough for 2. Service was decently quick, especially considering we also ordered a couple glasses of wine with our meals. I think I'd come back again.

Yelp
Halibut, Gnocchi, the Double Beef, Seasonal Squash and Salmon. Truffle Fries, and the Brussels Sprouts Appy. Of course some cocktails. Service was pretty good and the food was same as service. Really a nice setting. All and all a six stars, since there was six of us. We were a bit early. Nice bar too.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and had the short rib sandwich. We were seated immediately. Overall the sandwich was as ok, but was very light on meat so it was a lot of bread that I was eating; definitely not worth the money. The fries were standard run of the mill fries. Service wise, I can't recall our waitress checking on us.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to come back to Satis for a weekend lunch after couple of years. This time we sat inside. Got to see their super comfy seating area. They had the brunch menu that had appetizers, salads, sandwiches, egg dishes and drinks. I got the salmon burger that was very well made. Loved all the ingredients it came with. Also tried the chicken cutlet sandwich. It was decent with good fries on the side. The service was fine, food came out within a shot time. Overall it was a delightful lunch for us.

Yelp
Came here for dinner last night and the outdoor space is great. Perfect setting for an outdoor dinner. Definitely recommend getting a reservation because it was very busy on a Friday night. The staff was great! Our order was taken promptly and whenever we asked for something (an extra spoon, plate, etc) it was handled quickly. Moving onto the food.. it's exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant that's been around for over 15 years. Heavy and boring. I really enjoyed the "truffle roasted organic half chicken" but the amount of green beans was a little pathetic (that's like the cheapest part lol don't skimp out on it!) and there was not even a single hint of truffle - but the skin was crisped insanely well! Really good. The ribeye that two people got was very fatty but overall good. The fries were lacking salt. We also got the bruschetta and Brussels sprouts as appetizers and the Brussels sprouts were insanely disappointing. It was weird.. it's just the leaves of the sprouts. There were no actual bulbs of sprouts or anything so it tasted like we were eating very oily paper lol. The little toasts with fig and prosciutto were good. I think they put Boursin cheese on them. The sangria was good. Overall, the bill for 4 people was around $280. It's unfortunate that mediocre food at such a high price point is ok when you can take a 10 min train to the city and have an amazing dining experience for around the same price or less. Food is ok, not worth the price. Staff is great, atmosphere is great.

Yelp
Service was slow. Meals were 5/10 at best. Was a previous go to but now have to drop down

Yelp
The food was tasty and flavorful. I had their homemade gnocchi. I was a little disappointed because the serving was ridiculously small for the price. My friend got a regular pasta dish and her portion was normal sized for the price. I would recommend they increase the number of gnocchi for the price. However, their dessert was some of the best dessert I've ever had. I got the pistachio cheesecake and OH MY was it amazing. The crust was made of crushed pistachios and the whip cream on top!!! Wow! Best whip cream I've ever had. Service was excellent and the vibes were immaculate.

Yelp
Very cute and cozy restaurant in downtown Jersey City. I highly recommend making a reservation, it was packed on a Saturday night. I loved the atmosphere. It was very warm and inviting and the decor was really neat. The service was great. Our waiter was super friendly and so was the rest of the staff taking care of us. They were very attentive. As far as the food goes, it was delicious! We started with the potatos bravas and a special they had that evening of lamb osso bucco over polenta. The potatos came out piping hot and were crispy. The lamb was incredible. Some of the best polenta I've ever had. I had the salmon as my entree and my boyfriend had the halibut. Both were great, full of flavor, and nice portions. I can't wait to come back and try their brunch menu!

Yelp
READ IN FULL. This has been one of my favorite restaurants in Jersey city but it feels like the prices have gone up since March a good amount and the quantity of food has decreased. Otherwise, the service is great and the ambiance is unique. We started with the burrata for an appetizer and it was so so small. I usually share my appetizer but in this situation it was just for 1 person. For main I got the halibut and my friend got the salmon dish. The taste was amazing but I needed twice as much and so did she lol. There wasn't enough food so we had to get some pizza slices afterwards. Not to mention that it's just fish and almost nothing else despite of what the menu says. On the other side my boyfriend was pretty happy with the pasta quantity and the taste. My other friend got the scallops and croquettes - two appetizer instead of a main. I'm giving them 3/5 because they are advertising as $$$ but I would expect that when i pay $30 for a fish I would be full. This is by no means the finest of dining so I don't see why the portions have to be minimalistic. Overall, everything was delicious but somewhat overpriced and not enough quantity. If I go back, I would not get the fish mains but would aim for the pastas. PS I had the lobster risotto once and I did not like it at all. And sorry I forgot to take pictures but figured will share my experience regardless.

Joe B.

Yelp
I had the tuna was quite delicious and my wife had the halibut. It was OK , quite surprisingly, they charged me an insulting $30 cork fee, essentially the cost of the bottle of wine. Nobody mentioned to me there would be a cork fee. With all the options in Jersey City likely will not be coming back to this place again.
google avatar

Yelp
We had the octopus appetizer, the cauliflower, and then the halibut, salmon, and duck. Delicious. The halibut was sweeter than I was expecting.

Yelp
Walked in on a Monday night, no reservation and immediately sat. We were greeted by the owner or manager. He was great. The ambience is lovely. Once the sun started to set, the lights dimmed. Food was amazing!! Brussels sprout appetizer is 10/10. I've never had Brussels sprouts before and I was very impressed at the crunch & flavor. The bolognese is soooo rich! I asked what I should choose between the bolognese and carbonara and the server said it was a tough pick, but steered me towards bolognese. The flavor is really crazy. We had the chocolate cake dessert. Super rich for my liking, but another guests loved it as they're a huge dessert and chocolate fan.
google avatar

Sankit G.

Yelp
I ordered roasted beet salad and house made gnocchi. I must say the staff is very friendly, patient, and helpful in suggesting food. It was easy to find a reservation here on a weekday and stay long enough. The ingredients seemed fresh and made to order. I really really liked the gnocchi and will recommend it to everyone. I wasn't in mood for desserts but I ended up ordering one because of the amazing entree and I regretted it immediately. I ordered a creme brûlée which surely didn't seem made to order and felt that it tasted just very egg like. I think it severely missed the taste of vanilla or something that could eliminate the flavor of egg. I'll recommend the entrees and food but not the desserts.
google avatar

Anel H.

Yelp
Delicious food, and attentive service. Initially the hostess seemed annoyed we didn't have a reservation but we got there just as they opened for dinner so she found us a spot. The service by everyone else was excellent and we absolutely enjoyed every morsel.

Yelp
(Dined 12/03/2022 SA @ 1:00pm): Potentially a satisfying bistro for brunch!? My friend's colleague/friend recommended Satis Bistro for brunch/lunch after a morning work activity at their nearby school. For my second trip to Jersey City to visit a very dear friend, I continued my cuisine caper and explored the eatery landscape. Sadly, the main "upstairs" area of this restaurant was closed for a private party, so we were relegated to the downstairs bar area. Was this a "beast" of a place to settle in for the afternoon!? PURCHASE Bellini ($8.00 x2): A proper way to begin brunch... sparkling wine and orange juice - cheers https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=2X20XTYRbfDM2FLUWta8ig&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! Crispy Golden Brussels Sprouts ($12.00): A lovely portion of flash-fried brussel sprouts covered in asiago shavings and lava salt, these were simply tasty https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=8HEYjSyz7n9y-53DVZd-hg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! Satis Lamb Burger & Frites ($18.00): A decent mound of moist succulent lamb with pickled cucumbers, frizzled shallots, and rose aioli between a brioche bun, this was a simple burger where the lamb was wonderfully prepared. The included side of frites were crispy, long, and nicely-seasoned https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=6NMVHQ0WgWjbPYAWhuNv6g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Nutella French Toast ($14.00): Four triangle-cut pieces with warm banana foster syrup and cut banana slices, these fluffy and plump toasty treats were a hit and easily would've ordered another just for myself https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=0jDovfWeDQ2KbamL5g9TxQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! Aspall Dry English Cider 19.2floz Bottle ($12.00): Crystal yellow color, green apple aroma, low body, tart green apple flavor, crisp finish, and dry tart green apple aftertaste - pucker up https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=bPvUaYVGxx9oxhzv-K4IjA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! Charcuterie Board ($29.00): Chef's selection of meats, cheeses, olives, pickled vegetables, seasonal chutney, this was a beautiful assortment of goodies that paired well with everything https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=sOnv7ZRaqFl3DZBDrndsVg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Hendrick's Gin Cucumber Gimlet ($14.00 x2): Hendrick's Gin, Elderflower Liqueur, lime juice, muddled cucumber, this was purely sublime https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=D1C7rgkTBR7CdrQoChs4fQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Ginger Baker Whiskey Martini ($14.00): Misunderstood Ginger Spiced Whiskey, Lillet, lemon juice, and honey, this aperitif had me kicking and leaning back in my barstool https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=LS3iojlYsbHg3TovkwpdqQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. SERVICE Warmly greeted by a woman whom I figured was the manager along with a male bartender, we easily nabbed three seats at the bar where we were immediately given menus. After we perused the simple menu, we went to town and ordered throughout our stay. Our drinks arrived quickly while the food came out in a spaced out procession. Empty dishes were cleared away while we were periodically checked on. After two hours, it was time to depart, to which our compliments to all for the fine service - thank you! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) We walked from my friend's school. Otherwise, there seemed to be plenty of spots along the main drag of Washington St. and all surrounding streets, or you took the light rail which stopped nearby - nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE We were in the downstairs quaint rustic modern bar portion of the restaurant with a row of barstools at the bar https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=niEHH7X9Qbj4hTUbMyHK4g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw where we sat along with a small smattering of chairs/tables and an alcove like area in front of a window. Minimal decor adorned the space https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=0KTnKzRkeYQa02LmVlBH4A&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Decent natural lighting came through the front window and door while bright electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were a couple TVs while various music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=FXiLCd-6NrxG2ciM2jKjtg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops... if it weren't so freakin' cold and raining. OVERALL Satis Bistro fully satisfied my afternoon and would certainly return the next time I was in town; I especially wanted to dine in the actual restaurant. Sure, I felt things were a bit pricey; however, everything I drank and ate was blissfully wonderful with very good portion sizes. And, the service was perfectly fine. I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $153.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit cards of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Yelp
I made a last minute reservation for Satis yesterday. Today, is actually my birthday. My cousin's birthday is next week and we always celebrate together. We were about 45 minutes late, but Jenny accommodated us. Theo was amazing! He started me off with the most tastiest glass of champagne. My cousin, with a beautiful red. Theo is so knowledgeable. The food was a 10. We had lobster bisque and one of the best kale salads I ever had with fresh anchovies. For the entree, we had the paella. It was ok, hardly any seafood except for two large prawns. I think we should have had the pasta. They then brought over for dessert, a decadent piece of pistachio cheesecake with a candle to sing Happy Birthday to me which was very sweet. The ambiance at Satis is very nice. We sat for awhile after our meal and did not feel rushed. The overall vibe at Satis is really chilled. Nothing felt rushed. I highly recommend this restaurant for the attentive and kind staff, great food with a wonderful unofficial sommelier. Thank you again Satis for starting off my birthday on a high note.

Yelp
Make reservations! This place is very popular and if you don't have a reservation, you won't be able to get a table for dinner. At 6pm, the place filled up to the brim. The best part about this establishment is the ambiance. The old-world charm, the soothing, soft music in the background, the rustic decor, the pleasantly dimmed lighting, artfully curated to highlight the tall ceilings of this space. Perfectly cozy spot for any kind of occasion, especially a special one. The food was meh and overpriced. It's a hit or miss. Some items are good, some are bland and forgettable. $27 vegetarian rizzoto was okay. It was pink, thanks to an interesting addition of beets. Big portion. Baby Arugula Salad was just that: a pile of arugula leaves that costs $3 at a supermarket, yet will set you back $16 in this restaurant. $29 pappardelle was utterly devoid of flavor. The tomato sauce felt like pink water. Zero seasoning, spices, or taste. Meat was okay. This dish needed a lot of work. How do you don't complete such a simple dish by withholding salt, pepper, and any kind of seasoning? Easiest dish to get right, yet... Staff are very accommodating and sweet. Our waiter has been detailed and helpful with explaining different dishes, so we could make the best choice that would make everyone at the table happy. Very tactful and unobtrusive service during our entire experience.

Yelp
Cool place tucked away in Jersey City - came here for a quick breakfast. Got the hanger steak, which was pretty average. Wasn't a huge fan of the food, but the blueberry pancakes were fire tho. Nice spot for a quick breakfast. 3.5/5

Yelp
Okay so I was excited when I walked in because this place was so cute. The food was unfortunately very mediocre and overpriced for what you end up getting. We started with the burrata and prosciutto and got like 2 pieces of prosciutto and the smallest ball of burrata which wasn't that great. We also got the patatas bravas which was only decent because of the aioli that there wasn't enough of. Someone said it was reminiscent of the potatoes you get from Taco Bell (yikes). For our entrees with got the tomato basil pasta with burrata which was good but nothing special and I wish there was more burrata and I wish the burrata was creamier. The salmon was cooked well but was very very bland and a small portion. The chicken was cooked well and had good flavor. For the desserts the pistachio cheesecake was very subpar and the crème brûlée was grainy. Sadly, this place was a bit of a disappointment

Yelp
Beautifully decorated, great location, nice seating inside or outside and amazing fries. Other than that, I feel like I must have caught the service and food on a bad day because this place gets great reviews but I didn't think it was that good. When we entered and asked the hostess if we could sit outside, she seemed very bothered by us and seemed like she didn't even want to stand up to seat us. The cocktails were okay. I love cocktails but ended up only ordering one because it wasn't that great and usually cocktails are my favorite part of any meal. My husband ordered the lamb burger but it was so rich, he was only able to eat half of it. I ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich and it was bland. But the saving grace of this place for us were the fries!! They were amazing!! I would definitely give this place another shot though.

Yelp
I just have to start by saying this was an amazing restaurant and I will definitely be coming back. Every aspect of it--the food, the ambiance, the service--was perfect. This restaurant has a wide variety of cuisines but overall I would say it's European. I didn't take pictures of all the food we tried but I went as a group and sampled everything that was ordered. To start, our table ordered the organic baby arugula salad, mushroom croquettes, and crispy Brussels sprouts. The mushroom croquettes were our favorite! I highly recommend trying them even if you're not a mushroom fan. They were crispy on the outside and oozing with cheese and potato and of course, mushrooms (sliced finely) on the inside. The Brussels sprouts were also good, they were crispy and satisfying. The salad was okay, it didn't have a ton of flavor, I wish they put more sauce on it. It also has fennel, so if you don't like that flavor I would suggest trying something else. For our mains we ordered the spaghetti carbonara (pictured), short rib bolognese, Flemish carbonnade, and brick roasted chicken. The best dish was definitely the carbonnade. It's a slow braised beef that just melts in your mouth. It had so much flavor and was a good portion. The brick roast chicken and short rib bolognese were also really good, I wouldn't usually order those at a restaurant. I ordered the carbonara. It was good overall, but not the best carbonara I've tried. It was just too salty for my preference. I really liked the little bacon bits cooked with it though. Lastly, dessert. We were so impressed with the rest of the meals we had to get dessert. We got the chocolate lava cake (pictured) and the crème brûlée. Just wow. They were both amazing. The chocolate lava cake is the best I've had. You need to try it. It was so soft and rich. We took a bite at the same time and our jaws actually dropped because we've been looking for good chocolate lava cake in NJ. Overall, amazing service. The waiters were prompt and replaced cutlery and replenished our waters when needed.

Yelp
Still having dreams about my steak, the pataras bravas, and crispy golden brussel sprouts. Our waitress gave us a dismissive nod when we requested our steak cook preference - and I guess it didn't matter because it came out perfect. The space itself is small and intimate- perfect for any kind of gathering big or small.

Yelp
I had the most wonderful dinner at Satis last night. First, I eat at beautiful restaurants in many cities and Satis really stands out. Nice European ambiance. Very attractive staff and a shout out to Theo! Theo works the dinning room and gives advice on wine and the menu and makes sure you have a great experience. Now the food; we started with the roasted cauliflower.. Exceptional! Could have been my entire dinner! Then I had the roasted chicken and it was a tour de force in exceptional cooking technique. Perfection. My wife had fresh linguine with pesto. Very good! We drank very well. I started with a Manhattan and progressed to a Beaujolais. My wife had a full bodied Chardonnay. Exceptional dinning experience. Can't wait to return. Thank you again Theo!

Yelp
Food: the two of us ordered the patatas bravas, lamb burger, and short rib bolognese. Patatas bravas was hard on the outside, not crispy at all. Short rib bolognese was more like minced beef bolognese. Not a single piece of short rib was found and sauce was lacking. The only decent dish was the lamb burger. Service: minimal. The waitress looked cold the entire time. I hope her day got better after she got off work. Overall a very disappointing experience. There are way better options on grove street

Yelp
I paid $39 + tax for this portion of halibut. This is a typical size takeout box, I would guess 3 x 6". Biggest ripoff I've ever ever had in my life.

Yelp
Every plate we ordered was overcooked and spent the entire time yelling over the tables seated practically on top of us. Don't come here for a peaceful evening nor good dinner.

Yelp
Solid place! Food was excellent and service was good. Sat outside under a cute gazebo with lights. The sangria carafe was much larger than expected! Wasn't overfilled with ice Will be back!

Yelp
The food is good, but the Hungarian bartender at the bar makes the place. Loves wine, loves food. Such a great experience. Can't recommend enough

Yelp
Came here once for dinner. Ambiance of the place is real nice, definitely a great spot for date night. Ordered the mixed grill with a side of Brussels sprouts. The sausage in the mixed grill was a little weird but everything else was pretty good.

Yelp
Nice neighbor place with good, not great, food. I was quite disappointed that considering it was Easter, there were no specials on the menu. Our family Easter brunch was just an ordinary brunch.

Yelp
Satis Bistro embodies what makes most bistro experiences so satisfying and fun! The food, vibe and service were all very good. The restaurant occupies a townhouse on a picturesque corner in JC with such an inviting setting from the outside. Would love to dine alfresco there on our next visit but sat at a cozy table in the back of the main dining room on this cold winter evening. Conversation across our table was fine with a moderate ambient sound level. Our table of 4 enjoyed cocktails...all with generous pours and a bunch of appetizers to kick off our meal including heirloom tomato salad, crispy Brussels sprouts and duck croquettes. Each was very good. My entree was the halibut in a potato crust with a side of their truffle fries....delicious as was other entrees at our table including my wife's seared scallops. Finished the night with pistachio cheesecake and lava cake to share along with a double espresso to keep me awake for our trek back to Bergen County.

Yelp
We were greeted and seated quickly. Everyone was very competent, quick, and nice. We arrived during brunch and ordered from the brunch menu. I ordered the hanger steak, eggs, and fries. The eggs and fries were generous. The eggs were tasty. The fries were numerous and delicious. The steak, I would not order again. It was a bit lackluster compared to the other items. Hangar is usually one of my favorite cuts, but for some reason, this one just didn't do it for me. I ordered rare and it came back medium to medium-rare depending on the part of the steak. The pre-sliced the steak, so it was a bit sad that they sent this out as rare. I wouldn't order the steak here again. The steak here is 2 stars. But the fries were 4 stars. The lamb burger looked huge, my wife ordered it. She ordered medium and it came out cooked to a perfect medium-rare, which is a tastier temperature for a lamb burger anyway. It was flavorful and my wife would definitely order this again. The lamb burger was 5 stars. I'm sure we'll be back. I'll try something from their other menu next time, just not steak.

Yelp
Went here for a little anniversary celebration and it was really PHENOMENAL. We got the pitcher of sangria (delicious and strong), Brussels (okay but good), the salmon and pesto linguine. The salmon and pesto linguine were truly out of this world delicious. The linguine had to be one of the best pasta dishes I've had in my life. Service was wonderful and the atmosphere is adorable and cozy/romantic. They let us linger for a couple hours since it was a Monday night. We were too full for dessert, but have to go back because the dessert menu looked so good. Overall, I thought it's a really great little spot and was extremely impressed. We were so beyond pleased with our experience and would recommend to anyone....will definitely be back. Bravo Satis Bistro!

Yelp
Great amount of outdoor seating. The brunch menu has a nice selection. I got the crab cake Benedict and it was really good and I nice size for a crab cake. The price was also reasonable. My husband had the steak and eggs. He said the eggs were delicious but the steak had no seasoning and was over cooked. The drinks were also good. I would definitely go back again.

Yelp
We recently had our wedding at Satis. The staff was very helpful with our dessert selection. It was slightly disappointing in the fact that the tables were not set for the number of people we had confirmed with them. An hour before our wedding we found out they were seating 45 people instead of 61 as discussed with their planner. My husband had to run down there (while we were taking pictures) to fix the issue. It was very crowded on the first floor, which is what we had rented out. It seems their occupancy numbers are incorrect. We had also confirmed being able to play our wedding playlist. When we arrived we were told they couldn't accommodate our playlist, not ideal. We were also overcharged for the amount of people both for food and the drink package. We were never given an itemized receipt. It wasn't all disappointing. The staff that worked with us while our wedding was going on, was very helpful and very accommodating given the circumstances. The food is always outstanding, so there was no doubt that we wanted to have it at Satis. We had countless emails and even met with them in person 3 times to ensure no hiccups. I would be extra thorough if you're having an event and make sure you arrive very early!!

Yelp
AMAZING FOOD. Literally every thing we ate was spectacular. We even ended up ordering dessert because we couldn't resist. Server even brought us a special dessert he wanted us to try. GREAT VIBES AND WONDEFUL SERVICE. Was a pleasant surprise especially since we were from California. Nice to have a great meal.

Yelp
Underwhelming service and food. Waiter did the bare minimum - never refilled waters or offered us a second round of drinks. When we wanted to get our check, three different people tried to offer us dessert menus. Every time we politely asked for the check...Took 20 mins to finally get it. The steak was fine, but the fries came out hard and cold. The Brussel sprouts seemed boiled, personally I like the crispiness from the oven/roasting. We sat outside and someone from the kitchen kept coming outside to vape - unpleasant.

Yelp
Drinks and dessert at Satis!! Amazing. I had the pistachio cheesecake and a dirty martini. My date had the 20 yr port and the Branzino. The waitstaff 10/10. I recommend and will be back. The strawberry sorbet is yummy.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in JC has my new favorite dish: Vegan steak medallion with roasted potatoes and spinach. Wow! Please add this special to the menu, it's amazing.

Yelp
Love the ambiance! Potatoes and duck croquet was good as well as the salad but steak was a bit dry

Yelp
Acceptable service followed by a set of underwhelming dishes. It was full on arrival and the host did a good job getting us a table when another party left. We were quickly seated. Tried a glass of Pinot Grigio and their sangria, both were good. For apps, we ordered the mussels which tasted fresh but the broth was too salty to sip or dip the bread in. This was followed by their popular brick pressed half chicken and gnocchi. I was quite excited for the chicken as the pictures looked great. The chicken was cooked well, with a nice crispy skin and tender inside, but unfortunately it was quite bland. Even after dipping I'm the sauce it only added a sour note, bland and sour essentially. I kept taking another bite hoping it would taste better, but never arrived. The gnocchi was also bland. It simply lacked flavor. At the end, it took 10 mins to get the check and we were given another tables check which had to be corrected. The venue is beautiful with great outdoor seating, but the overall experience didn't cut it for me. For the chicken dish, I'd rather eat some Popeyes at 1/4 the cost.
