Where To Eat Near Georgia Tech

"Head to Satto Thai & Sushi on Marietta Street when your budget is tight but hunger is unbound. The aesthetic isn’t the draw here. The interior is so generic that we forget exactly what it looks like. Just know that'll have a cluster of Tech students and a mood that doesn't make you feel rushed here. What we like most about Satto are their huge, reasonably priced signature rolls, which could easily feed two or three people. Our favorite is the massive Optimistic roll with flash fried salmon, crab meat, jalapeño, and hot sauce." - demarco williams, juli horsford, nina reeder

Satto Thai and Sushi Bar - Review - West Midtown - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"If Satto Thai’s sushi were personified as a person, it would chug creatine and do two-a-days at the gym. That’s because their signature rolls are huge and could easily feed two or three people. So if you’re balling on a budget, head to Marietta Street on the Westside. Their soft psychedelic playlist and Tech students discussing their upcoming exam set the mood. But you won’t feel rushed here, and you could easily hang out for a few hours without being bothered. The aesthetic isn’t the draw–the interior is so generic that we’ve already forgotten exactly what it looks like. But do you really need decor to enjoy the massive Optimistic roll with flash fried salmon, crab meat, jalapenos, and hot sauce? We didn’t think so." - Juli Horsford

Satto is my favorite restaurant in ATL. I love the Pad Thai, and the Massaman curry is so delicious I could eat it every day. The portions are large and the flavors are perfectly balanced and rich. The sushi is also amazing and the staff is always very welcoming and kind. They are fast with preparing pick up orders and always pack the to-go boxes very neatly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also cute! Overall 11/10

The food is incredible. This place is truly a hidden gem. Most people get their curries and rices - but this is easily the best Sushi place in Atlanta hands down.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here! Will definitely be coming back again. The sushi was one of the best rolls I've had. The pepper steak was delicious. Also best pot stickers ever, they were perfectly crunchy! Service was good too.

We’ve been here like 5 times. We love the Belasaurus roll here and everyone is super nice. As we were finishing dinner there was a cockroach walking across the plate and we told the waitress and she acted like nothing was wrong. She didn’t even say sorry or acknowledge that anything was there, and removed the plate. She brought out our checks right after without even saying anything. We were astounded and didn’t even know what to say.

This is my 5th time here! I usually love the food but as we were finishing dinner we noticed a roach crawling across the plates. We told the waitress and she then proceeded to act like nothing was wrong, removed the plate, and brought out our full bill.

Terrific happy hour, Monday through Friday 3-6pm. Free parking in the hotel parking lot on the end. Very friendly service and efficient. Loved everything about it. Simple but attractive interior. Exterior is deceiving... Not a dive place. Terrific place to go on the way to a concert at Terminal West if you're hitting it during the week

First time I went there was maybe 6 months ago. Everything was fine back then. When I went there for the second time, food was okay, but at the time of billing, we were charged a much higher amount than expected. On asking, the waitress informed us that an 18% tip (not even service charge; TIP) was automatically applied on the actual bill amount. Interestingly, she asked for tips separately (on top of that 18%) while we were paying. When we asked to drop that "compulsory 18% tip", she refused by saying that "This is our new policy". This is absolute nonsense, and I'm pretty sure this is illegal, but I didn't have the time or energy to fight against it. In any case, I'm not going to go there for the third time for sure, but happy to share this nonsense with the world.
