Studio City Gastropub Comes to the Choco Taco Rescue With Homemade Version | Eater LA

"I found that a new El Segundo outpost of Sauced BBQ & Spirits will move into the former Salt Creek Grille location in Plaza El Segundo and will offer both smoked meats and ax-throwing, combining barbecue with an entertainment element." - Karen Palmer

Sauced BBQ & Spirits was amazing! The service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere had a great vibe. The food was incredible — the brisket was super juicy, the chicken was perfectly cooked, and the ribs were packed with flavor. The waffle fries were also amazing! Definitely one of the best BBQ spots I’ve been to. Highly recommend!

The Baseline: For a sit down chain BBQ restaurant the bbq meats must be quality/tasty, the sides need to be a good accompaniment to the meats, the smoke flavor must be present, drinks should be stiff, service should be efficient, and the restaurant should have character. Food: The bbq at Sauced is pretty good with a good amount of smoke flavor and good consistency to the meat. The sides are really good with great garlic mashed potatoes and baked beans. For the meat I had good sized pork ribs, pull-apart brisket which were tasty but the smoke was a bit infused with smoke that left me with a little reflux (I fully admit it may be my anatomy on that issue). The pork belly I had was not very crisp so i might avoid that in the future. Four stars on the food. Service: Decent service but we came on Father’s Day so it was busy. We got bar seating and we were taken care of pretty quickly but I had to wait for water refills. Ambiance: Great fun and great environment for a BBQ restaurant. Games, bar, outdoor patio, well organized tables and chairs. Super fun place to eat BBQ.

This place is what used to be the old salt creek grille.. I was there for work event so there was a preset menu and no actual service.Because the food was set out buffet style. So I can't really comment on service except for the bartender, who was great.. The food we did have was pretty good... They have some very moist corn muffins that are absolutely delicious... The place is pretty big with multiple TV throughout and the football games are on etc.. There are arcade games, ice hockey, shuffleboard, axe, throwing and a few other things.. It's kind of like an adult Dave and Busters, but with better food and drinks and little to no kids.. (which I prefer) I would definitely come back to try some of the menu items and the axe throwing is really fun.... If you're looking to have a good dinner and have something else to do other than just eat and talk and stare at your phone... This is a good option..

Google
First time visit. I would definitely comeback for the food. But it took us 25 min to order what we want. Servers never really come to our table because they had a bug company party customers. It was little disturbing

Google
The food was excellent, but the service was slow. I also had a concerning issue with the bill. I paid both the bill and tip in cash, but shortly after, the server returned claiming I had only given $20. He quickly added that we could check the cameras—I agreed. A moment later, he came back with the exact cash I had given (bill and tip) in his hand, saying he had “placed it in the trash.” I usually pay by card but happened to have cash on hand this time. The interaction felt very strange, especially how quickly he returned with the money after initially saying I had underpaid.

Celebrated my 35th birthday at this establishment and it was amazing ...delicious food, fun arcade games and the axe throwing was a blast. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend the watermelon cucumber drink. Great customer service can't wait to go back

Google
Decided to try this place during lunch. Great looking place fun games. Ordered 4 meat plate. I was very disappointed. Brisket was dry and tasted not fresh. Sausage was dry and tough. Tri tip was bland. Mac and Cheese tasted grainy and as it was not prepared that day. Pork Burnt end was good and so were the sweet potatoe tots. Waitress was super friendly and nice. I would go back for drinks and games.

Google
Our buddy called and paid in advance for a shot at our table for our buddies birthday. I brought it up and they said that nobody informed them, but they would get the drink for him. They also offered a birthday dessert which I gladly agreed to. Seemed good and solved. But they proceeded to charge for the shot and the birthday dessert, which they offered? Unreal.

Yelp
We came in last weekend and got a great spot outside. It got a little busy, but our server Elise was super friendly and attentive, and gave some great recommendations! Overall great service, great food, great vibes!!

Yelp

Yelp
Had a hankering for BBQ Chicken and it was exactly what I needed. Half chicken with 2 sides, potato salad and slaw. Coming back again and again for this delicious meal! Service on a Sunday evening was great! Ambiance/ sat at the high tables at the bar. It wasn't quiet but it wasn't crowded. Perfect dinner!

Yelp
Food was...mediocre. It was served luke warm and the portions were very small for $26. Service was nice, and is the only reason I'm not giving it a 1-2 stars. Wouldn't return. Everything was pretty bad honestly. You could save money and eat basically anywhere else.

Yelp
Food: 3/5 Burnt ends, corn, slice bread were all very tasty! The drinks were the highlight! The burnt ends tasted good, a bit too much sauce for me. The corn was great! The old Fashions really hit the spot. Service: 5/5 Staff was awesome! Very quick, friendly, and accommodating! Ambience: 5/5 Great decor, games, seating!

Yelp
Went here with family and it was chill. Lots of parking in the lot outside and it was pretty easy coming in to get a table. The food was not bad. We ordered the 3 meat dish (pulled pork, brisket, ribs, mac n cheese and mashed potatoes), which fed me, my husband, and my momma. My in-laws ordered the 3 meat too except with the pork belly, sweet potato tots, and beans. Theirs was also good. I like that they offer high chairs and booster seats for the kiddos that you can just easily grab. We didn't try the axe throwing but that area seemed so rowdy. Love the plethora of televisions all around too. My only complaint is I think there needs to be more employees working. It took way too long to get our orders taken. Not to mention, we had to wait forever for staff to even walk by when we needed plates to eat our food. I was looking around at the tables, and I saw multiple people (including myself) trying to wave down the server. One woman even got up to wait by the server as she was taking an order at another table. P.S. The mac-n-cheese was delicious!

Yelp
TL;DR Version: Most disgusting bbq I've ever had in 38 years of planetary existence. Full Story: I'm from Texas and this review is my version of a bad broken record... ... .... ..... ...... No. Hell no. Disrespectful. Absurd. Preposterous. Wildly Disrespectful. How dare you? No. Just no. Nice spicy bbq sauce though! Tasty! As for everything else... ... .... ..... ...... No. Hell no. Disrespectful. Absurd. Preposterous. Wildly Disrespectful. How dare you? No. Just no. ... .... ..... ...... In case it wasn't clear Sauced: Your food is complete, uboliterated garbage that you should be ashamed to serve. Your service is way too average to below average to ever justify paying stupid prices for such unobliterated, hot garbage food. I hope your restaurant fails gratuitously very soon. The restaurant's existence feels like a s*** stain on my neighborhood. I've never been so angry eating bbq in my life. I wouldn't feed your trashy, dry a** ribs, disgusting burnt ends with 0 meat and 100% fat, and jalapeno cheese sausage that had 0 spice to a starving, stray dog on its last legs. Also, your cornbread is a goddamn abomination and you deserve to actually be arrested by federal authorities for trafficking such traumatic and violently disgusting food to humans who eat with these things known as "taste buds." THAT is NOT cornbread. THAT is white California girl BULLS***. This place also astonishingly just lathers their awful food in weird sauces and glazes like it's going to somehow magically make the food edible... New name for Sauced: Lipstick on a Pig. You can have that name for free Lipstick on a Pig...I won't even file for the IP rights! I really hate you Lipstick on a Pig.

Yelp
I've been to the Sauced in San Jose, but the El Segundo location definitely has a different vibe! It's bigger, much livelier, has a separate bar, and lots of game space (e.g. bocce ball outside, ax throwing, darts, and arcade). One thing that I'm glad stayed consistent are their Rednexican Nachos and Swamp Fries! The Rednexican Nachos come with poblano queso, black beans, corn, jalapeno, cilantro, and tin roof with your choice of smoked chicken, pulled pork, or chopped brisket. I appreciate that they offer both a Runt and Full Size because the Full size is huge! The Swamp Fries have house rub, brisket, poblano queso, baked beans, tin roof, chipotle lime, ranch, and green onion. Also very tasty. Their bbq dishes are pretty good, but these two menu items are what keep us coming back! I got a 2 Meat Combo to share with sliced brisket and brisket burnt ends. The burnt ends are always a fave and the brisket was tender. For our sides, we got the Roasted Garlic Greens Beans and the Sweet Potato Casserole. The Green Beans were ok--a little soggy and not very garlicky. The Sweet Potato was just mashed sweet potato with some brown sugar on top. Probably wouldn't get that side again. I tried some of the BBQ Glazed Salmon with caramelized tin roof, mashed potatoes corn succotash, fried onion strings, cornbread, and cinnamon butter. The salmon was moist and pretty tasty. Would get this again!

Yelp
Food was ok, had the pork belly burnt ends, they were overcooked, the jalapeno cheddar sausage was ok but not vet spicy. Had rice and garlic mash for sides, they were the best part of the meal. Service was mediocre, waiter did not check on us to the end of the meal, no water refills until the end of the meal. It's more of a sports bar than anything else and it is very noisy. Conversations are difficult. Prices were ok but near the high end, Quality and Service makes this someplace that I will not return to.

Yelp
Random stopped by. When we yelped it it looked like a chill spot with plenty of entertainment. We came on Labor Day and it was not as crowded but still very chill including the service. The bbq was good but the sides were okay. I got the smoked 1/2 chicken which was good but nothing special and the smoked tri tip which I thought was just right and tender. The coleslaw just didn't hit like other ones have while the garlic mashed potatoes tasted a little too overseasoned and so did the Mac and cheese. However, my fiancé got the baked potato with Mac and cheese stuffed inside and that was delicious! Flavored just right. They have an arcade as well as axe throwing and bocce in the front. I can see this spot turning up on other days but I understand might have been a little dead since people were out of town. Plenty of parking spots in this big shopping center with other stores.

Yelp
After living here for almost a decade, I can't believe I've never visited this place! I can see how on a Friday night, it would be busy with a young crowd, the axe throwing, the yummy food, the bar, and the arcade games. We came to celebrate a bday, the food and service was amazing!!! Felt like we were in Texas!

Yelp
We love Sauced! We are glad there's one in El Segundo! Hubby & I came here with our son and his wife on a Sunday evening. We all had a great time while noshing on the flavorful foods! This is a great place for fun, food, and drinks! If you want to throw axes, they have 4 cages where you can pay to play. There are also some dart boards. Not sure if you have to rent the darts to play. Outside, they have a few lawn games... bocce ball and I think cornhole What we ordered: *3 Meat Combo with Brisket, Tri-Tip, Brisket Burnt Ends, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, & Baked Beans *3 Meat Combo with Ribs, Pork Belly Burnt Ends, Brisket, Sweet Potato Casserole, & Corn Succotash ~ The Pork Belly Burnt Ends were thick tasty pieces that were cooked nicely. *Corn Bread & Butter ~ you get four large pieces of corn bread in an order. The corn bread has bits of corn in it. It comes with some sweet butter and is really good! The meats were full of smoky goodness! They have four different BBQ Sauces. I am a fan of the Hot Tin Roof and our D-I-L loves the Pig Candy. This is a place we will come back to for our BBQ fix!

Yelp
Very open bbq restaurant. Good outside space. We were a part of 6 on a Monday. It was so loud that after dinner we had to go outside to talk. Our server was prompt & attentive. Food was good. Can hardly imagine what a Friday or Saturday night I'd like here!!!

Yelp
My kids wanted bbq so we decided to try this spot. We came in on a Thursday evening, it was very cold outside so we decided to eat inside. This restaurant is huge, they have a lot of games and entertainment. Perfect for a date or just hanging out with friends. Service was very slow, it took our waiter forever to finally come and greet us. Mind you, it was very empty, there were only about 4-5 families inside. We ordered right away, the food did not take very long, but to get containers to go and the check took soooo long!! Maybe they are used to people just wanting to hang out.. idk.. I give the burnt ends sandwich a 10/10, definitely coming back for it again! Everyone liked their food, zero complaints there. Definitely will be back!!

Yelp
I had the 3 meat combo. Spare Ribs: rate 7, tender nice smoke and flavor Burnt Ends: rate 5.5, lacks enough meat Brisket: rate 6.5 good bark, not enough moisture Overall their BBQ is ok, nothing to rave about. The brisket and burnt ends were the dealbreaker. I wish that the brisket was more tender and juicy and that the burnt ends had more meat and less fat, they were mostly fat.

Yelp
After completing our Global Entry interview, we found ourselves a little hungry and decided to head west in search of something tasty. That's when we stumbled upon Sauced--and what a fun find! The decor immediately caught my eye--rustic and lively, with a laid-back vibe. But what really sets this place apart is the extras--like axe throwing! Definitely gives it that "let's come back with friends" feel. We shared the 3-meat combo plate with two sides: burnt ends, brisket, and chicken, alongside baked beans and cornbread. The baked beans absolutely stole the show--rich, savory, and packed with flavor. The burnt ends and brisket were both tender and smoky, just how we like them. The chicken was okay--not dry, but just a couple minutes away from being overcooked. The cornbread had corn kernels inside and was nicely balanced--not too sweet. We also tried the cocktail flights, which added a fun twist to the meal. The service was excellent ! I could definitely see me coming back with a group to enjoy the food and try out those extra activities. Sauced isn't just a restaurant--it's an experience.

Yelp
I got the recommendation off Yelp! Thanks fellow Yelppers! The parking was easy for a Saturday night. You would think that a BBQ would be busy on a weekend. We walked right in and got a table for 4 people without waiting. The service was good and they took our drink orders quickly. It was hard to wait for those margaritas but they came to the table quick. We started with the sampler so that we could choose our favorite. I liked the cucumber flavored. Refreshing! Me and the hubby weren't sure what we wanted. We were hungry but didn't want to overeat like we always do with BBQ. We talked with the waitress and decided on the 3 meat try. I'm like pork belly and the hubby like sausage. Can't remember the third meat... I guess I should have! The meal was enough for two fat boys! We both left satisfied with very little left over. Our fried has a meat smoker at home and said this was the best BBQ. Next time, we are coming for the axe throwing. Yes, you can work off some of that meal by throwing a few axes at the back of the restaurant.

Yelp
I really miss Salt Creek Grille which used to be in this location. We came to check out Sauced BBQ which took over this spot and it turned out very well. They offer weekday lunch specials until 4:00 p.m. which are smaller portions and cheaper. I had the brisket and ribs with baked beans and sweet potato casserole. The food was tasty. I liked the Pig Candy barbecue sauce. The others had the chicken leg, pulled pork, brisket, and tri-tip along with potato salad, cole slaw, corn succotash, and sweet potato tots. Our server Nick was very nice and the restaurant is casual and comfortable with outdoor and indoor games. I would definitely come back for the barbecue and to try other items.

Yelp
Tried Sauced today and they have a decent happy hour from 3-5:30. Drinks are good, nibbles are tasty. Nothing to rave or complain about , standard bar food. Standard bar feel. Saw a few reviews that had issues with service, we did not experience this. It was actually quite the opposite. Staff was friendly and attentive. Had fried pickles & jalapeños, tri-tip sliders, and jalapeño & cheese sausage link. I will visit again to try the regular menu items.

Yelp
Great time--Very fun axe throwing vibe! Isaac helped us out and made it very easy to set up and have fun.

Yelp
4 stars for the food, 1 star for the service. Food: smash burger with fries (loved, wished it was a bit bigger though); loaded Mac n cheese with texas toast (at first it doesn't look like a lot but it's definitely enough to share or take home for another meal). Service: when we walked in it was definitely busy but there were tables available. There was no one in the front to check in with when we arrived so we had to wait a few minutes which wasn't a big deal. However, when we were seated it took a while for someone to take our drink order. Took awhile longer to place our food order. Food came out quick, hot, and delish! Our server was nowhere to be found and didn't check on us a single time. We finally asked someone else for refills on our drinks and for our server to come back. When our refills came out, the server (not our server) accidentally spilled a water which landed on my husbands leg/foot. She was apologetic and mostly cleaned up the water. Our server finally came around and we asked for the check - no apology or acknowledgement that he was gone the entire time. It was also extremely loud inside and definitely gave arcade vibes too - lots of kids running around, TVs blaring loudly.

Yelp
Dania was an amazing server. Food was so good, portions are huge. Will definitely return!

Yelp
Such a big restaruant with lot of games you can play inside. I saw darts, ax throwing and it was a cold night so the outside games were not set up but they have the giant chess, jenga or other games set up. We brought my guest from my wedding since we was staying at the hotel in El Segundo before he flew out. They have good amount of cocktails to pick from and decent amount of beer options. Parking was super easy and it was located inside huge plaza. Atmosphere inside is pretty amazing. Lot of TV's you can watch and they have neon signs along with arcade games. Food was surprisingly great. Ribs were so good we had to order another order of ribs. Normally I don't like ribs from a BBQ spot because they smother them in BBQ sauce but this place did not do that. Jalepeno coleslaw was so good and their pork belly burnt ends were chefs kiss. Must try if you are near by and also check out their daily specials.

Yelp
Seems like a lively place and fun environment with games just depends on who is serving. Came here to bring fun to a visiting friend from out of town. Luckily, we came in when there was a lady with long blonde hair and a nose ring. She was nice, communicative and gave a good description of items. Unfortunately, she left early and we were subjected to the guys who ignored us the rest of the night. No one communicated the bar was closing and they did not seem to want to refill drinks or offer anything additional. This place use to be Salt Creek Grill and they had customer service. As I'm sitting drinking, the guy is stacking napkin dispensers next to me like I meant nothing. I hated the feeling but loved the $5 beer. Sauced is literally here to give you cheap drinks and cheap service.

Yelp
Had an amazing experience at Sauced! The BBQ was fantastic (great brisket and tri-tip!). Isaac was awesome, super friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. If you're in the mood for some great BBQ and excellent service, definitely check this place out!

Yelp
Amazing food love the atmosphere. Isaac is super nice great guy! I got a chicken sandwich it was delicious. I definitely recommend this place and the beer was good too. We ordered a pitcher of the lager. Refreshing

Yelp
Had our holiday party here. Atmosphere was really lively as there were several other parties running and it was Friday night. The service was great. We were all over the place and they managed to keep track of all our drink orders. Gabby in particular was so ridiculously friendly and helpful. Our party ran out of veggies early but management took care of us and got us a refill quick. The food was delicious. The BBQ chicken white meat was surprisingly tender and while I normally don't like pulled pork, tonight I was a big fan. Loved the smoked sausage and the BBQ sauce and everything else in between. I'd like to come back sometime to try the ribs and brisket as well. One of our party ordered a vegetarian meal and they brought her the largest roasted sweet potato I've ever seen in my life, a giant order of fried Brussels sprouts and a veggie burger. Pretty good spread. A lot of the sweet potato was leftover so i took it home and it lasted the whole week. Our party also reserved the axe throwing area so we had a lot of fun trying not to hurt ourselves. The staff in the cage area tried to help give us directions on how to do it right. It's not his fault we're terrible. I applaud his patience. The only ding I would give the whole experience is that the women's bathroom had 5 or 6 stalls but all except one were out of order. That's a big mistake on a busy night where lots of alcohol is being served.
google avatar

Bryan C.

Yelp
Came here for the company holiday party nd must say was very impressed by the BBQ sauce they use and the tenderness and juiciness of the BBQ chicken breasts. Everything food wise was quite tasty and definitely different from my usual Lucille's . Service with excellent everyone was super helpful and super fast in getting refills and other requests. The server Gabby stands out the most being charismatic, all smiles, and super eager to help. My wife and I really love her! Rarely do you get the privilege of meeting someone as happy as Gabby is. Parking - ample so many spaces as it shares a log with other businesses. Ambiance - Lovely fun, Dave and Busters vibe with much better food Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I came to Sauced about a month ago on a Monday around noon. My Uncle recommended it so we went here. It was underwhelming because no one was there to greet or seat us. We waited for several minutes and ultimately had to seek someone out. I was not impressed by this in the slightest. Our server was a gentleman who was friendly & provided a lot of recommendations. He provided good customer service. Couldn't say the same about the missing hostess. To start we had the swamp fries, they were phenomenal. Extremely filling. As we were scarfing them down, our entrees came out. I had the 2 meat lunch combo plate. The burned ends, & the brisket. For my sides I had bbq beans & Mac n cheese. The food was good overall, the portions were reasonable. I definitely needed to take a to-go box. I'd probably come back but likely in the evening to ensure we get attended to properly.

Yelp
One word: FIRE! Sauced is the boss when it comes to delicious BBQ restaurants in the South Bay. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical trying BBQ in El Segundo as I have never been pleased with other spots that have popped up in the surrounding area. This places has very good brisket burnt ends and spare ribs. Tender, smoky, and the sauces on the table are fantastic. My fav is the hot BBQ sauce cuz let's be real. If you're not smackin' the flavor is lackin'. And the toffee butter cake??? Decadent, moist with a heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream. It tasted like a heath bar had an affair with a butter cake. The duo we never knew we needed as a dessert. It's a must try! Another highlight of our visit was our wonderful waitress, Dania! She was super friendly, funny, and a breath of fresh air. Her nails were super cute too! She was very attentive, knowledgeable about menu items and all around had a great personality! I hope to see her again because I definitely will be back again amd again!!

Yelp
Our server Dania was so sweet! Gave us the best experience and food recommendations! Would absolutely come back and ask for her

Yelp
Best place to come for a mid week lunch. Roomer has it that lunch specials are coming soon. I'm keeping an eye out for it. It's a great place to grab a bite to eat and burn off some lunch steam. The portions are grand, I love a good doggie bag for later. The bark on the ribs and cut was a hearty non trimmed slab. The sauces on the table are soo good, I tried them all and even took the recommendation of mixing and matching which I highly recommend. Service was attentive, the host who seated us was very knowledgeable. He said the it's usually a Saint Louis style of rack, which I typically prefer a country style, but I was not at all disappointed. It had a great bark and a little smoke ring, something I have seen in a while on a pork rib. Side were excellent and the highlight, the meats themselves were a little dry and meant to be heavily sauces, good thing the mixed sauces were delicious.

Andy L.

Yelp
Food had great flavors but came out cold. Service was good then bad then non existent. Staff was already doing closing tasks at 8 pm even as customers continued to come in. Was promptly greeted and received good service then it went downhill. One bartender left, other bartender wasn't sure of drink recipes so was searching via manual then got slammed with multiple seatings. Place could do better with proper staffing and training. Bummed it left a bad taste for us.

Yelp
Sauced BBQ was a great spot we found while in the area. We came on a very busy Saturday evening and even though we waited a bit, I must say the food did not disappoint. I was very pleased that even though it was a hectic evening, the food did not come out cold and it was smoked very beautifully. The chicken was absolutely delicious, and my daughters agreed. The platter we got was enough to feed 6, and the on site brewed tea was delicious. Our waiter was also excellent and made our experience wholesome, even on a packed Saturday evening.

Yelp
This is one of the coolest barbecue spots I've found in a while! The atmosphere inside is fantastic, with plenty of TVs--perfect for catching all the football games on Sundays. They also have a variety of fun games, including arcade games in the back, a projected dartboard, and even an axe-throwing cage. As for the food, it's consistently excellent. I usually order the three-meat plate because I like to sample different options, and everything is always fresh and flavorful. They also offer four different styles of barbecue sauce, which I love to mix and match. My personal favorite is the jalapeño sausage--it's incredible. The ribs, pulled pork, and burnt ends are also well worth trying. The bar has a great selection of beers, and there's both indoor and outdoor seating. Most importantly for me, it's very kid-friendly. We brought our two little ones (three years old and six months), and they had booster seats, high chairs, and top-notch service. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Axe throwing in a bar?! Sign me up .. before the drinks. 4.5 Of all the items here, I thought that the smoked wings were the best of all the meats as that took on most of the smoke flavor and complemented well with the sauces. Don't get me wrong, their brisket (+ burnt ends) and tritip are very solid; just that the smokey flavor wasn't as apparent as the wings and the tritip was slightly dry. Cocktails were pretty standard affair, though adding coffee liquor to an old fashioned is genius so thank you for that idea! The only thing that I would ding on this place is that the inside is way, way way too loud such that if you have quiet friends who aren't very loud when they speak, then you'll never going to be able to hear them. Otherwise, solid food, good service -- just missing on a few elements for that perfection.

Yelp
I discovered this gem after picking up my wife from the airport, and I'm thrilled I did! The food and service were excellent, with a special thanks to Celeste for her great recommendations and attentive care. On this Tuesday, they had some enticing drink specials. I tried the BIG RICHARD--a combo of a beer and a shot. For our meal, we went with the 3-meat combo: smoked jalapeno cheddar sausage, brisket burnt ends and pulled pork, and for our two sides we had the Honkey Tonk Fries and baked beans. Everything was delicious, no regrets. The place also has a variety of fun activities, including axe throwing! As we dined, we enjoyed watching baseball on one of their many TVs and grooved to a fun DJ set featuring 90s hip-hop. We'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
We came here for my sister birthday a couple weeks ago for a "Bonsai and Brews" event and had a great time! Since we were a private party, they put us out on the patio which was perfect cuz the weather was nice and we had the whole patio to ourselves until the dinner rush happened. The food was really good and the drinks were great as well. And the prices were actually pretty low compared to other bars/restaurants. They have a ton of TV's so you can watch your favorite team play, axe throwing, pool, darts and so much more! This is great place to come for a birthday, to watch the game or if you have a large party. I will definitely recommend this business to others visiting the area!

Yelp
Had my first visit at this location with a group of SK motorcycle friends and none of us were let down. The BBQ was perfect during this visit. We all got different plates, no one could go wrong with their selection. Check that salad out in my photo. Comes off plain AF but let me tell you, packed with flavor. Toss in a little sweet and tangy BBQ sauce and capitalize on the angelic side plate. The ribs were spectacular - best ribs I have had in some time. Mix a little of that sweet and tangy BBQ sauce with some of the OG tin roof sauce and create a little flavor party for your selections. The chicken was perfect as well, and the portion size was loaded. I tapped out, couldn't get it all down. The staff keeps this restaurant very clean. To the young chick employee who helped us swap to the corner table, major appreciation for handling it.. Pretty fun gaming area, or so it appears. Sadly we didn't have a chance to play as the restaurant was closing by the time we finished eating. The ax throwing is a good way to warm up to or cool down from a solid meal. I am ready for visit #2.

Yelp
This was hands down the WORST BBQ experience I've ever had. The only thing remotely edible were the sides. The meat--what should be the star--was completely inedible. I've never had ribs so dry that I literally choked trying to eat them. When I politely mentioned to the server that the ribs were dry, she was unbelievably rude, dismissive, and even claimed we "ate all the ribs" (they were still sitting on the plate all the meat scattered around!). To make matters worse, she laughed about me with a coworker in the corner while I was still in the dining area. Beyond unprofessional. I tried speaking to another server, who was at least nicer, but still didn't make any effort to understand or resolve the situation. I left feeling uncomfortable, disrespected, and shocked at how badly customers are treated here. Between the dry, choking-hazard "BBQ," the lack of basic hospitality, and the humiliating service, I will never be back. Save your money and go literally anywhere else--this place doesn't deserve to stay in business.

Yelp
I was pretty hyped up about barbecue the day we visited. We came after the lunch rush and it was nearly empty. Looking back I'm not sure if it was because of the time of the day we visited, or if that's indicative of this establishment on a regular basis. The menu looks great and had a lot of variety with a lot of modern twists on traditional Southern barbecue. That being said, the food was subpar. Is it possible that the quality the food suffered because we ate after the traditional lunch hour?Perhaps, but when you order pork belly burnt ends, you expect it to have that melt in your mouth consistency. We couldn't even finish the pork belly as it was tough and rubbery. It was unpleasant to chew. The mac & cheese side was in fact, delicious, but the Asian coleslaw had no tang or real flavor to it. The pulled pork sandwich seem to have no identifiable "bark" and was rather stringy in texture. Pulled pork shouldn't be stringy, there should be varying sizes of meat. Service was slow. We did have one server start us out, and then she was going on break so we were told that another server would be following up with us. We never saw the other server. A runner brought the food out and cleared it away. I had to request our check. Barbecue is one of those things that it's really hard to mess up unless you just don't know barbecue. It was a nice change of pace for us, but I wouldn't say that this is a place I would select again. It really seems to be a great atmosphere to get together with outdoor lawn games and indoor video games, but unless the food is really good, then save the money because it was not a cheap lunch for us and it was very disappointing. A plus is that the food looked really good despite not being very good.

Yelp
I give it a 3 stars because two beers made me happy but the bbq food was not memorable. I went on a late Sunday afternoon. It was quiet, a few diners and enough staff. As to the food, the tri tip was bone dry, the brisket better but still dry. The chopped chicken on the Cali Salad was moist, so chicken may be the way to go. I understand BBQ restaurants cook the meats in advance then warm them up. I'd live to find a better bbq place in LA like they have in Dallas. The Mac and cheese was greasy, nothing spectacular but was ok. The cornbread was the best part of the meal and the corn succotash. I didn't expect corn, I ordered roasted root vegetables. I was going to ask about it but by the time the waitress came back, I finished it. I asked her when did corn become a root vegetable, she said she saw they didn't give me the root vegetables but assumed they were out of them. I told her it was ok and she offered to ask about if they had root vegetables, but I already ate the corn and it tasted fine. The blonde beer was good, the red one meh. I enjoyed the XM radio pop country music station they played. Would I return? Maybe for a happy hour or other special day. For the area the Fish Grill is still the best food and value!

Yelp
Great place for large gatherings, chill outings and family fun! We came here earlier today to celebrate my aunts birthday. There were 11 of us including one toddler and we were able to get a same day reservation. Our initial plans fell through but this restaurant and the activities they had worked out much better for all of us! We had an early dinner and did ax throwing. We were a little worried about how that would work with a toddler but the restaurant is so large and we had enough people who just wanted to stay at the table that things worked out. I was surprised to see so many kinds in this restaurant but it was nice and there's definitely enough space for the kids to run around in the activity areas. Unfortunately the food/drinks were OK at best. I ordered the jambalaya and the rice was overcooked...the whole plate was kind of a mushy mess. my the jungle drink was OK. My husband ordered an espresso martini and a watermelon mojito. Both those drinks were fine. I enjoyed the ribs but overall the food had mixed reviews. I'd probably stick to BBQ. The service was great! Our waiter was friendly and fun. Our food came out very quickly! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Saturday evening about 7. Walked in lots of availability in bar and dining area. We took a table in the dining room. It took a bit before we were brought water and menus. Big tvs surround the dining room. Music is played at a loud volume making conversation challenging. There are games. One in particular makes aoud banging / slamming sound that was very disruptive. Food is served on attractive plastic dishes. We had the tri tip...cut super thin. It was OK. Baked beans really sweet. Cornbread beautiful with that honey glaze. Butter would have been a big help with the dryness. We also had the Heli Cali salad with smoked chicken. The salad was excellent as was the smoked chicken. We did trade out the BBQ ranch dress for basic blue cheese...for us that was a better pairing. If I go back I'll sit in the bar area to avoid the banging game noise. Lots of free parking and polite staff.

Yelp
The quality of the food is relatively horrible. The meats, sides and everything in between. No joke but even the water tasted bad (probably not filtered properly even if it's out of the tap). Service is a little dodgy so don't expect much from the servers. I had high hopes for this place when it opened a couple of years ago but it is way below acceptable standards.

Yelp
We've been here twice and give this a solid 4. During our first visit it was a late lunch (between lunch and dinner hours) and service was slow at the end of the meal. My partner wanted to order a second beer that time and we never got help from servers to do so. The second time was dinner time on Saturday. There was a brief wait to be seated and it was quite packed with a few large groups. After we were seated we were not able to order for much longer than I would have expected with being seated quickly after arriving. We ordered the jalapeño popper appetizer and it was okay but I would skip it next time. We ordered a kids grilled cheese with watermelon, kids rib with cornbread, an order of swamp fries, a side salad, and a full rack of ribs with green bean casserole and a side salad. When our food was brought out we were missing a salad and the one that arrived had no dressing. We mentioned the missing salad to the person bringing the food, but several minutes later Eventually we got our see out waiter and he thought just the dressing was missing and quickly rectified the situation. The ranch was okay, not my favorite but it's much better than the bbq ranch that was on the salad I ordered the first time. During this second visit we were able to order refills but now I've been finished and waiting on the check too long. They are splaying sports. There's ax throwing available, darts, and arcade games. This place is probably a lot of fun for date nights or team building events. Service 3 Food 4-4.5 Ambiance 3.5 (can get loud) Price / value for money 4
