Where to Eat Around Valley Fair and Santana Row

"For brisket and baked beans, stop by Sauced BBQ, a trendy industrial joint with intentionally “rusty” corrugated metal siding, weathered wood, metal chairs, and neon signage. Make sure to accompany your sauce-saturated ribs with deep-fried delights like jalapeño poppers stuffed with pulled pork, sharp cheddar, and cream cheese playfully referred to as hand grenades — and for dessert, deep-fried Oreos." - Paolo Bicchieri, Johanna Harlow

Ramen Series Takes Over the Saratoga in the Tenderloin - Eater SF

"Livermore-based Sauced BBQ & Spirits is bringing its smoky meats to San Jose — it’ll be the mini chain’s fifth location following Livermore, Petaluma, Walnut Creek, and Sacramento. The barbecue restaurant is slated to take over the former Roots and Rye space at 3055 Olin Avenue, Suite 1005 in Santana Row with reclaimed wood from barns in Georgia and North Carolina." - Janelle Bitker

Came in for lunch for the first time. Solid 4 star place to eat. They have a pretty robust lunch menu. My wife got the smash burger while I went for a lunch combo plate. Both were pretty solid choices. I’ll have to come back to try more of their daily specials and happy hour.

Food was great, unfortunately the service was not. Waitress checked with us right after food arrived then never came back again. The other table beside us had the same issue. We had to go to the bar to ask for refills, to go boxes, and the check. We have been to Sauced at the Livermore location and know they offer better costumer service than here.

We've come here 2 times in the last month. It is a high-energy restaurant especially if there's a game on. They have a few TVs where games can be watched. They have an area where there are dart games and golf. I do suggest if you eat there, maybe choose their bbq items. I ordered a ribeye steak, it was very thin and fatty. My husband had the pulled pork, much better. The cocktails are good, but not strong enough lol 😆

This was my first time here , Darren greeted me and my partner , and quickly seated us . Darren went above and beyond explaining popular menu items and his own personal recommendations . The 3 meat plate was perfect for a date night to share , for dessert we had the deep fried Oreos , comes with a big scoop of ice cream , I most definitely will be returning customer 10/10

Google
Very glad I went to this restaurant, we were looking for places to eat and smelled the BBQ while walking nearby. Everything was amazing. I got a smoked hurricane cocktail to start which was a little sweet but they definitely didn't skimp on the alcohol. I got a smoked jalapeno cheddar sausage, burnt ends, chili Mac, and beans. The sides and the meats were excellent and the hot BBQ sauce was actually pretty spicy. Prices were on the higher end but there was enough food for 2 meals. This is my new favorite BBQ place in San Jose

As first timers trying out this restaurant, my review below focuses on answering 2 common questions - do I recommend it to others? Will I come back again? Let’s find out… In just 3 min before the happy-hour ended, my wife and I quickly ordered a Peach Mule and a Strawberry Mint Lemonade cocktails drinks for $2 less on each. They were good, we wish the portion could be a little bigger though (don’t we all !!). Then we ordered a Green Giant salad. The salad portion was enough for 2 people. The greens, tomato, cucumber and cheese go well with the BBQ ranch dressing. It comes with a slide of cornbread by default. We wanted to try out different varieties of their BBQ meats, just to see how good they are. So we ordered the 2 meat combination plate with pulled pork and ribs, and the sides are waffle fries and cornbread. We didn’t realize the salad comes with a cornbread slide already, otherwise, we could have tried other side. But I didn’t mind having 2 slides of cornbread because it is good. The pulled pork was cooked just right and juicy. The ribs meat slid right off the bones. We also tried all 4 BBQ sauces, we particularly like both of the Kansas City styles (Tin Roof and Hot). The waffle fries were also done just right, not too oily and had a bit of crunchy to it. Overall, we had a good dining experience. The waiter was nice. The food portion (only 2 dishes) was enough for 2 of us and still left some to take home. We paid about $90+ for 2 cocktail drinks and 2 dishes. The restaurant does add a living wages fee to the meal, something you may need to be aware of. So to answer my 2 questions - YES, I highly recommend it to those who love BBQ meats. YES, we will come back again.

Came here to celebrate a birthday. Everything started off well — we were seated quickly and our server took our orders without any issues. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. The food was mediocre and not as good as I remembered. I ordered sweet tea, but it wasn’t sweet at all. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was good, but definitely overpriced for the portion. The cauliflower dish was bland — definitely not worth ordering. The meat were alright, taste just like basic barbecue. They don't even provide steak knives. As for the service — what service? There were five employees just standing around by the kitchen door near the bar. I had to bring my own cup over just to get a refill. Another table even had to walk up to them just to pay because no one was checking on any of the tables. Overall, a horrible experience. Definitely won't be coming back.

Google
Another great BBQ find in San Jose. I came here late, 30 mins before they were due to close. The staff were brilliant and accommodating and didn’t make me feel rushed or pressured, in spite of my timing. Food was fantastic and served very quickly. I had the BBQ brisket burn ends combo with some chilli Mac and the seasoned waffle fries. The brisket was fall apart tender and had a fantastic flavour. The drinks choice was outstanding, but I was boring and had one of their IPA’s. This was brilliant, and washed the meal down perfectly. I’ll be back for sure!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I made a reservation through OpenTable for late lunch here (which definitely was not needed as it wasn't busy when we went) to try some of the BBQ before meeting up with some of my friends. The location that we went to is located next to Maggiano's Little Italy in Santana Row on Olin Ave. There is a free 2 hour parking structure across of the restaurant where my boyfriend and I parked at. We came during their Lunch Specials (until 4pm) and Happy Hour (from 3-5:30pm) which worked perfectly as we wanted something smaller in portion compared to the dinner portions. We started off with drinks. I got their Pig Ol' Bitties Blonde Ale, and my boyfriend got their Friday Beer & Shot special of This Little Piggy Went to [Mark]et with a 16 oz Dirty Little Pig IPA and a shot of Benchmark whiskey. My fault for having him get a whiskey shot on an empty stomach, though HAHA. He did like how smooth the whiskey was at least! We shared a 2-meat BBQ Lunch Combo Plate, and honestly, we should have gotten 3 meats because of how tender and delicious everything was! We got their Tri Tip and Sliced Brisket with their Garlic Mash and server recommended Sweet Potato Tots. Ahhh, everything was so good! Aside from the tender, flavorful meats, the two sides, especially the garlic mash, were sooooo good. We both loved everything! It was definitely a great choice coming during lunch as we were quite full after ordering one of their happy hour shareables of Chips & Queso (kind of pricey even for happy hour in my opinion for chips and cheese). Honestly wished we got their Chili Cheese Fries or their other fries which were the same price than just chips and dip LOL. But it was a good hold over food with us drinking a bit (at least for me). Shoutout to the only server who was working on a late Friday afternoon as she was doing her best to accommodate everyone + trying to clean up the previous tables. It was kind of sad seeing that the other workers didn't help bus the tables in my opinion. Overall, a great place to watch sports and have some good whiskey as this restaurant is known for their whiskey selections! The lunch BBQ exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely come back for another lunch special meal but probably with 3 meats this time!

Yelp
This is located in Santana Row. i placed in order online for a pick up and it was such an easy process too. i've never been here before, but have been dying to try it out. My sister wanted bbq for her birthday and so we opted for this place. i loved they way that it was decorated. it's like a bar and bbq served in one place. Since i've never been here before i was really surprised by their portion sizes. it was well worth the money spent and picking up was easy too. super nice guys who helped me. i was a bit confused on what kind of sauces they had. the person who helped me gave me a run down and explained their sauces. they also gave me some samples to try to take home as welll. by far i think id have to agree that their tin roof sauce is the best sauce my sister even wanted to know if she could just buy their bbq sauce. other then that we ordered roughly a good portion of bbq- pulled pork, cheddar cheese jalapeño sausage, burnt ends, brisket, chicken wings, and ribs. our sides were the cajun rice, green beans, cole slaw and corn succatash. would probably love to come back for their lunch special one of these days.

Yelp
This is a do-it-all family restaurant. It's right next to the playground and Smitten for yougins. Inside there are golf simulators and dart boards for older kids. There is beer, wine, liquor inside. Longer benches for families and friends. This place rocked it for me. I am from the Bay but live in San Diego now, have kids and stuff. Came with another family and the kids just had so much fun running around. The dude and I had fun playing golf, wife and her friend had fun chatting on the side. The food here is excellent. I wouldn't say its the best BBQ in the states but it's certainly better than anything in San Diego. I simply got the chicken tacos and a couple glasses of wine. The chicken tacos were great, flavorful, well seasoned. They're a bit steep at $23 for 3 tacos but well sized and worth it. Whenever I'm vising from out of town and have family with me we'll likely stop here. It's great.

Yelp
Ok, so we've been to the location at Livermore and maybe our expectations were pretty high because of it but the food was bland at this location. Nothing felt seasoned and it all needed their sauces. And i understand that's the name of the restaurant and I'm sure you want us to bathe the food in the sauce which are great but I would like to be able to eat some of it without the sauce and it stand on its own. We started by trying a jalapeño popper and it was probably one of the best I've had. Never had fresh jalapeños like those. Soooo spicy! My husband and I shared the 3 meat combo. We had the 1/2 chicken, burnt ends, and pulled pork. We loved the pull pork ! You can't go wrong with i pulled pork. The 1/2 chicken was so much but really unseasoned meat. The outside tasted only like burnt bbq no real flavor and the inside was bland. The burnt ends were not really our thing either. We loved the sides, the waffle fries were soooo seasoned, the corn bread did not disappoint and the garlic mash potatoes were delicious. The server charged us for loaded mash but we didn't ask for that or get it she never came back for the check so we couldn't ask her to remove it. Our favorite sauce is sweet and tangy. We could eat it on everything. Overall the service was good. We had a large group of 20 and she checked in on us enough and refilled our drinks accordingly.

Yelp
Late review. A few months back, we came here for a birthday celebration. Party of twelve. We were seated promptly towards the back. Near the virtual games. Service was great. They checked on us often for a night as busy as it was. We tried burnt brisket ends, ribs, mashed potatoes, brisket chili, and more. Had a few drinks. And a nice birthday surprise dessert for the birthday celebrant. Besides the jumbo shrimp looking smaller than expected, everything was tasty and we all enjoyed our food. It was a good group celebration.

Yelp
On a baking hot day in July a buddy and I tried Sauced. I made reservations ahead of time because I read they get crowded. On that day, they weren't. I'll cut to the chase, they were out of a lot of things so we settled on what they did have: chicken wings, bbq brisket & onion rings & pulled pork sandwiches. Everything was good, even though we were craving the beef ribs. Service was good and the young fella helping us was attentive and knowledgeable. Just a quick one this time because they didn't have much of what we wanted.

Yelp
I love sauced bbq! I enjoy their brisket and ribs, waffle fries, salads and a bunch of other sides too. It is a loud place, but a nice bbq spot. Their burgers are great too. If you're too full, you can walk around Santana Row... service is always great.

Yelp
Overall (3/5): Sauced has a great location and is super convenient to grab dinner if you're looking for some American BBQ at Santana Row. Food wise, I'd have to say it misses the mark for what I think good American BBQ is, but the space and service is truly the saving grace of this restaurant. Ambiance (5/5): You really step into a different world when you enter Sauced. It has the charm of an American BBQ spot that you expect from somewhere...not in California. Nice touch with the small arcade, outdoor seating, and spacious overall. Large groups can be accommodated here for sure. Service (1000/5): Great staff and very friendly. They brought out the wrong type of beans I ordered and gave me the extra beans on the house. Thank you for that! Food (2.5/5): I got the sampler plate and was sadly disappointed. The food is ok but far from spectacular. Ribs (3/5): They were good but had no presence of smoke and a little on the drier side for my liking. The protein was a little chewy due to the lack of moisture in the meat. Brisket (3/5): Major minus points for n smoke ring which is a huge bummer. I am however, glad that the meat wasn't dry or overcooked, and nothing like a little sauce won't hurt but the brisket sadly can't stand on it's own. Burnt ends (2/5): Needs major sauce to help it along imo. Very dry, very chewy, and not soft at all. Out of all the proteins in the platter, this was by far the most disappointing. They also lack the subtle sweetness I always look for in burnt ends and the flavor was also sadly off the mark.

Yelp
The watermelon cucumber drink was really good! I also like prime rib dips, I really loved the flavor and the choice of sauces they have on the tables! Very flavorful!

Yelp
I used to go here all the time, it was a decent place just last year. I can't believe the experience that I just had this evening, it's extremely disheartening...let me walk you through it. As me and my wife entered, there was nobody there to greet or seat us. When we finally were seated, we noticed a line building by the door while servers were actively ignoring the people waiting to be seated. We were literally watching servers look at them, and then look away so they wouldn't have to seat anybody. Our waitress was bartending and taking orders simultaneously. We ordered the fried pickles and peppers appetizer, along with a 3 meat combo to share. The plates they gave us, were sticky with crumbs and dust on them. We asked for clean plates and were given tiny plates since they had no more clean regular sized plates. The fried pickles and peppers came out first, and they were ok, nothing special. Someone from the back brought our food to the table, and all the meats were stone cold. Brisket, ribs, and an order of burnt ends, ALL COLD. We asked for our meat to be heated, and another employee took our food back with an unhappy look on her face. A few minutes later, she came back, and the meat items were STILL COLD. At this point, our waitress who was busy bartending, asked if everything was OK, and we let her know that our meat was still cold. She apologized, took the items back, and returned 5 minutes later with the same meat, now obviously microwaved. The tray the meat was served in, was now hot, and the texture of the meat was that of microwaved leftovers, far from fresh BBQ. Even our coleslaw was soggy, which was a disappointment, because that used to be my favorite side dish. $63.99 later, we felt cheated, and decided we're never coming back to Sauced BBQ, I don't even know why I tipped, the service was just as bad as the food. I feel like I was catfished, this place used to be good! Everything has gone downhill here, the staff look miserable, and the customers don't look much better. The only ones who seemed alright were the drunks at the bar who didn't order any food. I can see this place going out of business within the year, and I'm sure the employees can sense it too. They have arcades set up as well, so it's obvious they're trying to make money in another way that doesn't involve quality BBQ or decent service. They shouldn't be allowed to call themselves "Sauced BBQ," that's blatant false advertising at this point. I think they should call themselves "Sauced Arcade And Bar," where they microwave your brisket and ribs in case you ask.

Yelp
I don't get it. They took half of their restaurant out so they could put in an arcade, electric dart game and a golf simulator. They condensed their dining room into a space about 1/3 of what it used to be. For what it's worth, the dining room was packed but nobody was playing around in their mini Golfland or micro sized Dave and Busters. What's left is still a good restaurant. We got the chicken sandwich which was fresh and flavorful. The loaded mashed potatoes were a bit of a letdown, but even my last review complained about their sides. The 6 smoked wings are $12. They actually tasted better than they look but that price seems a bit high. Service was fine. They were quick and friendly. I don't know why they did this. I do hope they leased all those games instead of buying them.

Yelp
TL;DR: OK choice for BBQ at a reasonable price especially given the location. Decent tap list to go with the food. Ordered: - hand grenade jalapeno poppers (3/5): wasn't expecting a dish called 'hand grenades' to be cut in half, which is honestly pretty disappointing. Overall flavors are decent but nothing too special. - fried pickles (3/5): good flavor but there was way too much breading - Brussels sprouts (4/5): well-flavored sprouts and good texture - Brisket & Brisket burnt ends combo (3/5): brisket burnt ends were delicious but the brisket itself was extremely dry (couldn't finish). Waffle fries were forgettable and the side salad was not good - really boring and the amount of cheddar cheese was just too much Overall, I think Sauced is a good place to bring a large party - it's a fun environment especially if there are kids as there is an arcade and games. The tap list is decent and I had a couple pours of the Daisy Cutter (5/5) Might be back for a couple apps and drinks but probably passing on the rest of the menu Cheers, Sauced

Yelp
Casual, relaxed environment with fast and friendly service. Had the Dino bone which was ginormous and soooooo tasty + fairly priced!!! Sides were decent (green beans, Mac n cheese, 2 complimentary with the meat order). Brisket was juicy and tasty.

Yelp
This is my go-to spot for barbecue or a bite to eat in Santana Row. I love the warm, modern rustic vibes of the place, and I've never had a bad experience with the service. Every time I come here, it's mandatory to get the mango mule cocktail and the pork belly burnt ends in my BBQ combo plate. Their Nashville tenders are also great! If you're into whiskey, I recommend checking out their Hillbilly Swill drink menu. So far, all of my friends that I've brought here have never been disappointed.

Yelp
If you enjoy sports, happy hour, meat, and alcohol come here. I got to enjoy watching some college football with tri tip, brisket, chips and queso, beer and a shot of whiskey. Highly recommend and would try again for their other meats. I also have to mention their sides are very very good. Get the sweet potato tats and garlic mashed potatoes, taste was awesome!

Yelp
I didn't have high hopes for this place, but I was craving brisket... The 2-meat combo is steep for the price and I was shocked to see how small the sides were. Everything tasted mediocre to me, except the sliced brisket. It was pretty tender and had a decent fat ratio. Otherwise - I would not recommend the rack of ribs, which were dry. Overpriced... The random Asian aspects of the menu were odd to me. I even asked a waiter what was Asian about the "Asian Slaw" and he didn't even know??? Super weird. I tried it and it just tasted like coleslaw with sesame dressing. Mac & Cheese was bland. Chili Mac was not bad, but had too much chili rather than mac.

Yelp
Came in and never had BBQ before but Albert made my experience great and memorable. He gave great recommendations and answered all of my questions. Will definitely be back. Lanessa was also great and provided amazing service. The food was great and the ambience was exceptional. I look forward to coming back and adding this place into my weekly rotation. I highly recommend the brisket and swamp fries.

Yelp
The Family to go platter for $100 is great value, but would love a few more meat options (my kids couldn't believe I didn't order brisket). Easily feeds a family no matter size (mine is 5 people with 3 growing boys), and I definitely didnt need to order 2, but would have loved option to add a pound or two of brisket. Everything was great, except for the Coleslaw which is totally mid, surprising all of us).

Yelp
Experience (3/5 stars): *Food: got the 2 meat bbq combo plate - sliced brisket, ribs, sweet honey cornbread, and waffle fries. The brisket and ribs were dry so had to use the sauces on the table. Slides were okay. Was disappointed they ran out of brisket burnt ends during lunchtime *Price: +$33 for 2 meat combo plate Overall, I'd recommend going elsewhere to get bbq.

Yelp
Good place to come to watch a game, like we did during a Warriors playoff run. We liked the hand grenades (jalapeño poppers) and cheese curds appetizers and their beer menu has a ton of options to wash it all down with.

Yelp
The food was amazing. I was born and raised in Texas and I know a thing or two about barbecue and I highly recommend this restaurant. My wife and myself had a great time and the service was on point. We will definitely come back and tell all our friends.

Yelp
Located in Santa Row. Park in the parking garage across from the Starbucks and The Counter. This place is nestled next to Maggianos, or the one you'd park in if you were going to eat at Rosie McCann's. Hubby and I came on a Friday evening. Got there around 5PM and it wasn't busy. We were seated right away. Hostess asked if we wanted a high table or low. We chose low. She sat as at a 1/2 booth facing the wall of tvs. Of course I had looked at the menu already on Yelp. Hubby and I both went with the 2 meat plates. It comes with 2 sides and hubby chose baked beans and potato salad. My sides were mac n cheese and potato salad. Waitress asked if we were OK with green onions and bacon on top of our potato salad. Of course! As an appetizer we ordered an order of bumpkins. If you go...you need the bumpkins. They are brisket wrapped in lumpia wrapper and fried. They cut them in half and drizzle in bbq sauce. YUM! Onto our entree. We both ordered ribs and brisket. That brisket was so moist and smokey and you could cut it with your fork. The ribs were smokey and falling off the bone. The tables are equipped with 4 different kinds of sauce. 1 mustard, 1 sweet, 1 spicy and 1 regular old Kansas City deliciousness. The potato salad was yum. Green onion and bacon was a nice touch. My husband's beans were sweet and smokey. The mac n cheese was creamy and cheesy. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. I'm sure we'll be back!

Yelp
A chill place to hangout whether you want to eat with friends or watch sports while having drinks and some bbq. Went here just to get a drink and some side food to eat. Tried the Mango Margarita and Sliders. Both are decent food and drink. What I did enjoy are the sauces. I tried some on both the brisket and pulled pork and all four sauces brings a different flavor to the meat. I liked them all, alternating. The Hot bbq sauce is deceiving, first bite is ok but then the hot taste will linger afterwards. The Sweet Tangy is a nice contrast to the Hot. And the regular sauce is just right, not rustic like other sauces I tried. The bbq mustard sauce is a nice twist, you get more sour taste. The simple slider became interesting because of the sauces. They do live up to their name. The place is pretty spacious but only has 20% occupancy on a Saturday night. I think they deserve more diners especially since they offer something different to what's available in the area. The service was fast and the bartender was attentive and checks on us regularly. Hope to visit again if I need another chill time and some bbq food. Found some interesting dishes from the menu that I wanted to try.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place so bad. The vibe was nice I sat out on the patio and it was perfect not too loud or squished out there. Our server was great he came to our table fairly often to make sure everything was fine which I appreciate a lot. However the food was overall lacking. First we got the hand grenades these were pretty fire, it's a jalapeño with a mix of pulled pork and cheese in a mushy clump stuffed into the pepper and battered and fried. They were hot, slightly spicy and Smokey, perfect combo for my taste buds. The problem really came with the entrees. I got the two meat combo plate with brisket and pork belly burnt ends. The brisket was so dry and practically cold which was super disappointing! The pork belly burnt ends were warm but the sauce that came with it tasted weird. My husband got the 3 plate combo with ribs, brisket and pulled pork. The ribs were pretty good, the brisket was the same as mine dry and cold but the pulled pork was good. The best thing aside from the appetizer that was good was the sides. Mac and cheese was hot and cheesy! The garlic mashed potatoes were very garlicky which I liked and they had great flavor. The brisket chili was very flavorful, Smokey and had good chunks of brisket it in. But the best side was the waffle fries! They were hot and salty and perfect Crisp on the outside while being soft on the inside. I also got the watermelon margarita and it was decent nothing special. I would come here again just for the sides especially the waffle fries because everything else was meh.

Yelp
More often than not, when I have a subpar experience, I tend to move on but there were too many things wrong with my visit to ignore. We went to Sauced early in the day for the restaurant, 30mn after opening. Only 2 other small groups (6ppl in total) there. Food: We got the sticky ribs for appetizers (I really wanted something BBQ-esq). I originally wanted the burnt end sandwich but was informed that they were out so we both got the burger. The ribs were burnt. Gave it a sort of bitter taste. Disappointing really. The burger was an other disappointment. The string onions weren't all the way cooked, the patty lacked seasoning (I'm talking salt), and a couple of the fries were not fully cooked. And despite being one of 3 groups here, our order was wrong. How?! I've come here multiple times a couple of years ago, and it was great...don't know what happened. This was a spot I was looking forward to coming back to and I couldn't have left more disappointed. I truly hope that things improve in the future.

Yelp
Happy hour. Food tasted decent. Portions are cut to a fraction to make up for cheaper prices. If I had known that, I might have just went to yard house. It was mellow, I was one of two customers in on a Wednesday during the weekly farmers market.

Yelp
Came here for trivia night and the high tops were basically empty at 6pm. People poured in by 7pm and the place was packed by the time our night ended at 9pm. We got beers and shared a 3-meat combo of ribs, pulled pork, and burnt ends between two people. For sides we got potato salad and brisket chili. This was plenty of food for us. We added fritters at the end after we got drunchies. Their Sauced hazy IPA was fruity and juicy! It got me buzzed for sure. All of the meats were a-ok. They didn't blow me out of the park. I get that burnt ends are a popular choice for BBQ, but I was surprised it was emphasized so much that it was a limited item because honestly it wasn't spectacular. It felt like harder meat bits covered in sweet BBQ sauce. The ribs were super sticky and in a sweet glaze as well. The meat fell off the bone just fine and the cartilage (my favorite part) was soft, but it wasn't super hot and as time passed it felt like a big meat popsicle. The pulled pork was a dry. We were happy to see 4 bottles of sauce on the table to go along with the meats! I found the mustard sauce to be disgusting but the rest are edible. My favorite was the habanero one because they DON'T PLAY about their spice! We sweated a bit from how surprised we were with the heat; try a little bit on your first bite. The sides were great! The potato salad was addicting. The chili was a nice complement to its coldness. Fritters aka hush puppies (chopped applewood bacon, sharp cheddar and diced jalapeno, house peach chutney and brown sugar cinnamon butter) - These we're good but felt very bread-y. I didn't taste much of the bacon, cheddar, nor jalapeños. The cinnamon butter felt funny to dip in. It tasted like an Auntie Anne's pretzel. The outer crust had a nice, crispy texture though. Watermelon margarita, made it spicy - The flavor of this was good! Not too sweet nor artificial. It had a slight kick and a rim of Tajin which I enjoyed. Didn't catch her name but our server was super attentive. She was great. The cleanliness of the place and the bathrooms were good too. I don't know if I'd vouch for the BBQ here much but I wouldn't be opposed to trying other items. They had ramen too which is interesting. Catch you on another trivia night!

Yelp
Fail!!! Food was so dry.. Came back after 2yrs to see if it improved, nope... Service was prompt though, probably because it was slow.

Yelp
Great Ribs! Great Brisket! Super bummed they were out of burnt ends. The sides after mediocre, especially the Mac n Cheese and Loaded Mash. The beans were good. Ambiance: Super loud and sports bar ish. Service: so so... slow and not the warmest. Def go for the meat.

Yelp
Came here for drinks with a friend over the weekend. There's ample indoor and outdoor space. The service was quick and friendly. I would definitely come back to try their food; it looked amazing !

Yelp
This is the second time I've been to this location, we used to go to the Livermore location. But I must say this location has become our favorite because the food comes out perfect, the service is outstanding and we always have such great experience. It's just a great place to come and grab a drink eat some good food and spend time with friends and family. The cool and fun ambiance, they also have a little arcade and an air hockey table in the back.

Yelp
I travel the country for work and have had bbq in states such as Texas, NC, SC, TN, etc. for comparison. Last night's food experience was only okay. I ordered the two meat plate with 2 sides, sliced brisket and half chicken. Food came quick but meats were dry. The chicken breast shredded when I sliced into it, over dry. The 3 slices of brisket, one of them was tender but the other two were little drier. As for the sides, garlic mash was solid but the green beans with pork belly was bland. I had a hunch it would be dry since they immediately brought my food out. It may have been sitting under the heating lamp. Service was excellent, spirits and beers selection was good and ambiance was lively with a bunch of TVs.

Yelp
Sauced is a great choice whenever you find yourself craving BBQ while in Santana Row. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and generally you'll be seated right away. For food we ordered the following: Hand grenades: 4/5 Jalapeño popper starter with house sauce. Overall a good option for appetizer, however the portion is relatively small. 2 Meat Bbq combo with Pork belly burnt ends and Smoked Jalapeño cheddar sausage: 5/5 the burnt ends were very juicy and tasted amazing with all the sauce options. Additionally the sausage was stuffed and the Smokey flavor was perfect. Highly recommend these two options. While the appetizer was on the smaller side for the combo plates expect a large portion.

Yelp
I really like this place. The food is great. Service is good. The ambiance a bit too loud at least for me so I usually sit outdoors. Haven't been back lately because my wife can't have sugar & that's one of the ingredients needed to make BBQ tasty.

Yelp
Probably one of the best BBQ spots here in San Jose. This spot is located in Santana Row right next to Maggiano's. Seating inside is very spacious and it is a great place to eat while watching football/basketball games on their big screen TVs. Service was great and our server checked on our table constantly to see if we needed anything. The pricing on the food is a bit on the higher end, but it's very well worth as the quality of the food speaks for itself. The portions are huge as well. Definitely a must try for BBQ lovers! BBQ Ribs: So tender!!! The bone literally falls off when you try to separate the ribs. The meat is so flavorful and juicy. The flavor is like a sweet BBQ and the texture of the meat is amazing. Sliced Brisket: Really good brisket. They give a mix of lean and fatty pieces so you get the best of both worlds. They are cooked to perfection and break apart easily. Pulled Pork: I love how juicy the pulled pork is. Each bite is packed with tons of flavor and the meat is tender. They gave so much of it in the combo plate as well! Waffle Fries with House Rub: Probably the best waffle fries I've ever had. So flavorful and crispy. The inside was soft and I love how it wasn't oily at all. Potato Salad: I think they recently added this onto the side menu and it should definitely stay! Big pieces of potato and the flavor is how a potato salad should be. The bacon bits add a nice texture to it as well.

Yelp
Brisket sandwich was solid, a little pale for my liking Cornbread was very dry Beer and shot special of the day $11, loved Most sauces weren't anything to write home but I would say the hot was easily the best if the 4 sauce lineup FULL service bar with an excellent whiskey selection and extensive draft list

Yelp
Popped in late afternoon for 'linner' (Lunch/Dinner) with the wife while we were at Santana row. We love good BBQ and this place didn't disappoint. Drinks/Mixology were on point. The jalapeño sausage was delish, the pulled pork was killer, burnt ends were amazing...It was fun trying bites with all the different sauces they had. Our only (minor) beef was the service. We were one of three tables (5 people total) in the restaurant at the time and our server was sitting with a friend at a table nearby. We'd have to wave, or say hello, when our drinks were empty to get her attention. Would we go back? Heck ya! We just figure we were there when staff was low. Did I forget to mention they have axe throwing?

Yelp
We were seated right away, which was great, but unfortunately that's where the good experience ended. We sat outside and waited for over 30 minutes without anyone coming by to take our order or even check on us. It was disappointing, especially given how excited we were to dine here. After waiting with no service, we decided to leave. I hope the manager can give the servers training even if you're short staff have the servers at least acknowledge the guest.

Yelp
I've eaten at Sauced at other locations. I've always been pleased. I recently went to this location in San Jose . I was not pleased with the service nor the food. I walked in with two of my partners sat at the bar and I took 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. No one else was sitting at the bar at the time, and there were only 2 tables with customers After the bar we sat down for dinner. I did order the Brussel sprout appetizer, which was pretty awesome. However, the meat on the other hand was subpar. I ordered pork belly and it was so tough. It was hard to chew. I also ordered the ribs which were adequate at best. Third meat was chicken wings which were good, but nothing special. How does anyone serve pork belly that says tough as beef jerky? Also, I ordered a soda for dinner. I was never offered a refill. In short, the service was inadequate, and the food was fair at best. When I pay $45 for a plate of food, I at least expect it to be chewable.

Yelp
I came here and had a small sandwich and a small amount of mac and cheese. Well, small in quantity, not small in price. I came at sort of an off hour, I think quite a bit before lunch when they were barely open. So there was nobody there but me. Anyway, food is good but you know, the price. It's so high. And this isn't the best BBQ in San Jose, just the best in Santana Row. Speaking of, it's in Santana Row. Which is not a place I enjoy being. Anyway, for like $40 or whatever this was a not-filling but decent-tasting option. Probably wouldn't be back though.

Yelp
I came here with my family for an early dinner on Saturday. When walking in, the place was empty, which should have been my first red flag. Three good smelled good so we decided to take our chances. We were seated and got it drink orders in. It seemed to take forever for the server to come take it order. A couple other tables filled up, but still a very light crowd for 5:45. My husband asked or server what was recommended and cue red flag number 2. It seems she recommended every meat. All of them were exactly equal. I heard the table behind us all about the watermelon drink. The server said, "it's a very balanced drink". I swear she was just regurgitating what the menu said about each item. Finally, meals were coming out... Or so we thought. They brought out my 5 year olds meal. Then about 7 minutes later, they brought out me and my husband's meal. My 7 year old was starving and kept asking when her meal was coming out. I kept trying to make eye contact but the servers are very good at avoiding eye contact. Imafter roughly 10 minutes, my daughter's meal finally came out. What the heck. I've never seen such staggered meal delivery, especially when it's a kids meal! Now the quality of the food you ask? Not good. My trip til was not great. Not even good. It was overcooked and very bland. The cornbread was served cold with no butter. My kids didn't enjoy their dinners (Mac and cheese and grilled cheese). The BBQ sauces were good though, so at least they've got that going for them. I don't often write yelp reviews, but I feel like I need to warn all of you to avoid this place. So many great choices in Santana Row, and this isn't one of them!

Yelp
I picked up some gift cards at Costco awhile back and finally put them to use. Even though reservations are available on Opentable, we were able to walk right in on Sunday evening and were seated right away. They have a pretty big indoor dining area, as well as a covered outdoor patio. There was leftover bits of food on the booth seat that I wiped away myself before I sat down. - Dinosaur beef rib: Super charred (borderline burnt) on the outside and dry and stringy. The BBQ sauce made it edible. 2/5 - Potato salad: Cold and creamy. 4/5 - Buffalo blue fries: Sharp, creamy, vinegary. These were good! 4/5 - Side of smoked brisket: Also dry. Not sure if we were supposed to be asked if we wanted lean or fatty, but what we got seemed to be lean. 2/5 - Apple hand pies: The crust was really thick and there was barely any apple filling. Mickey D's has a better apple pie. 2/5 5% living wage automatically added to bill. $90 for two before tax and tip (but including the living wage!). Definitely expect more at this price point.

Yelp
A big fat JOKE, i got the beef ribs and two sides. My friends coerced me into trying this place again. Having tried this place in the past and did not enjoy it, i thought hey lets give it another chance. And i did... the results. Obviously mediocre. The beef ribs was so dry, 90% was basically beef jerky... the bark was dark af. Right when they brought it out, i knew it was dry. I have a feeling that they probably put this shiet back in the oven and reheat it.. making it extra dry. This is by far the worst beef ribs i have ever tried. And i can honestly tell yall that i been to a few other places and had their beef ribs, so i know what a good beef rib should look and taste like. This place is by far the worst place to get your beef ribs... im never coming back here again, and my friends cannot coerced me into trying this place ever again.. The other bbq items, i tried most of them. Definitely not the best. Theres other places you can get better bbq in the Bay, this place is more like a gastropub with gastropub type food. It dont feel like a bbq joint, it feels exactly like a gastropub lol.

Yelp
My goto spot for barbecue in the Bay Area, love their brisket, pulled pork, burnt ends, corn bread, fries, and Mac and cheese

Yelp
Fun place, wonderful service, and delicious food! The portions are large, so we all got to enjoy leftovers as well. It was difficult to decide what to order as there are so many menu items we want to try, so we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Definitely coming back! I loved the ambiance, our waiter went above and beyond even with the place being so busy. The food... delicious! Of all the things to try on my first visit: the hippy chick, a delicious southwest salad that did not disappoint. I tried some of the bbq from my relatives plates and their brisket, and chicken are definitely something I'd like to try on my next visit. A lot of our favorite bbq places in the Bay Area have been closing their doors or have increased their prices unfortunately due to the inflation. It's tough out there and completely understand. Hoping we can make this place our "regular" spot for bbq because we really enjoyed the atmosphere. The fact that they gave us great service for a party of 10 during their weekend dinner rush speaks volumes.

Yelp
The food was as expected. It was good it satisfied what it brought to the table. Everything fulfilled the minimum needs. The best way I could put it is: it's a place you could go with coworkers , but not a place you would go out of your way for or on a date. They did have a great liquor selection. Including beer and spirits. Overall decent experience. The staff was still a bit new. I will say the prices were a bit much considering what was provided.
