Even though this isn’t the standard wine (Pinots) for this area of California, wanted to try it out anyways. The sommelier was very friendly and took the time to explain each different wine, background, and pairings to go with the wine. Ended up buying two bottles to take back. It was a five wine tasting if i remember correctly. It was $25s for the tasting which the price is waived if you buy some wine.

Had an outstanding time at Saucelito. Both Amber and Riley were perfect hosts. They welcomed me in, we had great conversations, and I felt like a part of the Saucelito family. I left with a bottle of the Reserve Zin and Rabble Rouser and cannot wait to share them with friends. Thank you for a delightful tasting experience. I'll be back with friends in tow.

Loved this place. Excellent wine, staff, and location. Met the owner, lovely woman. If you get a chance stop in.

Wonderful setting, great service, delicious wine, excellent cheese board.

Google
Excellent service and our server was very knowledgeable and friendly, answering all of our wine questions. The tasting room is a nice quiet place next to a lot of vinyards where we could savor each glass under the cool breeze. Interesting lighter Zins if you are used to the jammy heavier flavors from Paso Robles, but certainly not lacking in fruity aroma. I could have them all day 💕

Google
So much fun. Good wine from a family run business. A great story of how they built the business.

Google
We love this friendly winery! We have been members off and on for quite a few years now. We always come back! Love the 1880!

Google
Big fan of this place, relaxed atmosphere and delicious zin. It’s a really fun place to bring visitors from out of town, I think it perfectly showcases the beauty of Edna valley and the unfussyness of great wine in SLO!

Yelp
This winery offers a lovely setting and wonderful wines. They are also dog friendly (outdoor areas only) and will bring a fresh bowl of water for your pooch. The wines are developed from a combination of estate grapes and collaboration with other grape growers. My favorites are the Field Blend (2021) and Muchacho (2021). Both are well balanced reds. Edna Valley wines are not as bold as Paso wines, in my opinion, but the Saucelito wines have depth and are delicious in my opinion. Riley provided excellent service checking on us regularly and bringing each poor in a timely manner. They even have a few small bites on the menu and we ended up ordering a hummus platter with delicious chips. It was a perfect accompaniment to our tasting. I will definitely be coming back

Yelp
Came in as a walk-in on a late Saturday and was pleasantly surprised to find the place sort of empty! Patty was pleasant and courteous and attentive. I did not have any food (but it smelled good!) but wines were delish. Ended up getting a bottle of Muchacho and Estate Zin which is their signature wine. Beautiful place; quiet even on a Saturday afternoon. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
We did a wine tasting (reservations via Tock) with Correne, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Saucelito Canyon Vineyards are known for their zinfadels, and we enjoyed their Zin Estate and Field Blend. We recommend pairing the field blend with the pistachio/berry dark chocolate bar. The outdoor patio was fully covered, and there were shaded areas that seated pets and groups. They also have their own parking lot area, with close access to the check in spot for reservations.

Yelp
We came in for a tasting. We mentioned to the greeter that we were industry. Got seated and after a while a blonde server came out and poured a blend of rose. She never explained anything about the wine or the winery. It reminded me if vermintino. We waited about 20 minutes for the next pour but our blonde server was nowhere to be found. We just got up and left. Being industry we recognize good service and rude service. I do not recommend stopping here.

Yelp
We were the early birds and we got the worm!!! Terry spent oodles of time with us and every wine surpassed the last... lovely low key setting with a cozy enveloping feel... loved that we got to hear from a long term employee who has totally embraced her employers with what was a genuine pride in them and what she does... some of the best Zins I have ever had and worth trying out... sorry we missed the Pug!!!!

Yelp
Monthly Tasting Flight: $20/person for 5 pours (fee waived with 2+ bottle purchase). Various munchies available. Patti poured for us and was friendly, but not overly. Not much explanation on the wines, but that could have partially been our fault as half of our nine person group were busy chit-chatting, instead of listening to the pour descriptions. The wines we tasted, except for the '21 Tempranillo and the Old Vine Zinfandel, were not for our palates. There were several in our group who really enjoyed the wines, so you should definitely go and check it out for yourself. There are two outdoor areas, an umbrella covered patio and a tree covered wood deck, and both were very nice. The winery sits under the approach to SLO airport, but the planes are high enough to not be too bothersome to conversations. Overall, they offer a nice environment for tasting and lite bites. Unfortunately, based on our palates, we will probably not return for a while.

Yelp
Highly recommend! This is such a cute and quaint vineyard. It's a special treat and delight to come. Highly recommend doing the wine tasting and getting a charcuterie. Nice way to relax and unwind. Service is great as well.

Yelp
Love this winery and their wine! Everyone is so nice here and the deep reds are so good here! I'm not a white wine drinker but their Rose is wonderful. Love the beautiful grounds and lovely trees and umbrellas to keep one cool.

Yelp
Solid winery in Edna Valley and one I'd really like to revisit. The day we visited, it was quite warm, to the point where looking at anything other than white was daunting. With that said though, the weather was the only issues as the wine was good, a solid 7.5 out of 10. The staff was superb considering they were dealing with a herd of guests during a plus 100 degree day, so three cheers to them! The ambiance is quite inviting, small, but large enough to give everyone enough space a part. As for pricing, not terrible compared to some of the local competition around them. Would happily revisit in the future.

Yelp
Excellent service from Corinna. The wines are all representative of great quality Zins.

Summer T.

Yelp
One of my favorite wineries in Edna Valley! Always amazing service from every single staff person I've met and I love the outside patio tasting area. My boyfriend and I came in for Valentine's weekend and tried some of the specials on the Valentine's menu, which was beautifully crafted and paired so well with the tasting flight! I recommend looking out for when this place does special events because they never disappoint, but coming in on any regular day is always a pleasure!

Yelp
A friend of mine has a membership here, the tasting was delicious! Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. We were able to taste a white, a rosé, and then move down to a couple reds. Great selection of food options, and a variety of places to sit in the shade. Great views all around. Highly recommend.

Yelp
For our recent wine tasting tour, we went to 5 wineries in the area, and definitely could of skipped out on this one. Tastings are outdoors, shaded. Book early to get a table if you prefer that over a high top. They are surrounded by vineyards, but its essentially a tasting room only as their vineyards are 15 miles away. $20/flight but they were the teensiest pours. They do use a wider glass, but still, there were barely a couple of sips. I thought the wines were all fine though, and might've bought a bottle if I wasn't so bothered by the service. Our server RUSHED us with each drink. Yes, we were chatting and enjoying our wine, as I assume most people do; but we weren't drinking that slowly (overall there for about an hour). She would come by when only 1 of the 4 of us were done, and literally persuade my friends to drink faster by bringing us something to pour out the wines. We brought our kids, and she was the least friendly server towards them that we experienced- scolding our kids to sit down. (a lot of websites do advise children to stay seated, but please send me tips if you know how to keep kids seated in one spot in a outdoor patio while adults are wine tasting for an hour...) We shared the picnic box ($38) which was pretty good- came with 5 cheeses, crackers, and a few pieces of salami. Would've been a nicer presentation on a board though instead of individually packaged items. Needless to say, won't ever be back.

Yelp
Prices: 2* Service: 3* Taste: 2* Location: 4* Meh. Wines were overly acidic. Mostly Zinfandels are Zinfandel blends. I find $20 for 5 tastings a little much, especially the un-generous pour for that fee. The only one that we liked was the Zinfandel front Lodi and it the grapes are from Lodi. Not my favorite.
google avatar

Yelp
They have a beautiful outdoor tasting space great wine, and phenomenal service! Their 1880 line is amazing!

Yelp
Hands down my favorite local winery. The wine is delicious but what really sets them apart is the people. Most of their staff has been there for easily a decade (a rarity in this industry) and they know their stuff and are super friendly and approachable. The property is gorgeous and pup friendly and the Zins are the best around.

Yelp
We took a little staycation trip to the San Luis Obispo area and spent a nice afternoon at Saucelito Canyon Vineyard. Lovely grounds and nice tables to enjoy with a group or your family. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I made reservations ahead of time to guarantee our table, which I recommend. With that, you will be purchasing a tasting, which we enjoyed very much. I also purchased some nice dark chocolate and other snacks. They have some indoor space too, but we just enjoyed the outdoor setting.

Yelp
SCV is a FANTASTIC choice for wine tasting in Edna Valley/the greater SLO area. We had reservations for a Friday afternoon and sampled 7 fantastic wines - they have really amazing Zinfandels because of old and new vines at the hands of a skilled winemaker. While they do have snacks available, we stuck to the wines. The servers are friendly, the space is beautiful, and the wine is worth the trip.

Yelp
My husband and I had the most amazing day here! We chose because it was dog friendly and also had our toddler. Being a family owned winery, they welcomed us and made us feel comfortable despite our curious toddler wondering. We did a couple of tastings and ordered the dog charcuterie plate for our pup. We left with 3 bottles and plan to make another visit next time we are in town. Delicious wines, beautiful scenery and friendly staff! You have to stop by!

Sophia W.

Yelp
Highly recommended this spot! We had a group of 7 and the service was incredible the whole time.

Penny W.

Yelp
Very disappointed they didn't have anything special for valentines. In the past they served a beautiful arrangement of macroons paired with wine. Won't go to the trouble again booking a reservation.

Yelp
Came for my birthday. Felt super rushed on our tasting. Our server Patty seemed overwhelmed trying to manage the pours between what it seemed several other parties and then a huge party comes, we then felt completely forgotten. After we finished our tasting, she said she'll get us the bill....but we were waiting on getting a glass to sit and sip. What was weird was that she recommended us to go sit on the bench side on the total opposite side where nobody was even sitting at and was super cold (no sun). (we were almost already done). I ended up buying two bottles to get the tasting price off but even so, I felt like that was too generous. I hate to be harsh but my experience was what it was. Nobody wants to feel rushed. I'm sure they're great. I just didn't like my experience. Will go to PR for wine tastings, not SLO.

Patrick S.

Yelp
We love Saucelito Canyon!!! Hands-down the best zinfandels on the central coast! Can't wait to go back!

Laura M.

Yelp
We love visiting Saucelito, one of our favorite places! The wine is delicious and we can take our dog with us.

Yelp
Fantastic wine, service, and food. We came in for a business meeting at 4:00 pm, our server never batted an eye or rushed us- she was warm, welcoming, and friendly, encouraging us to get snacks and enjoy our time. Her recommendations were spot on. Truly remarkable service and wine. Highly recommend

Yelp
Beautiful winery in quiet location with wonderful Zins. Food pairings available with great service.
google avatar

Hannah S.

Yelp
It's never a bright and sunshine-y day when you have to leave a 3 star review, but for me and my party the wine just did not spark a note in us. Which, we were really bummed about! It could have just been our tastebuds though! So I'd still highly recommend others to try the establishment, as it was a great atmosphere and staff.
google avatar

Marty S.

Yelp
When the person who is pouring your wines tells you that wines are not just dry, but bone dry, believe them. When tasting such dry wines, you need food to be subjective. Without food, they were all simply unappealing. I've tasted there before and really enjoyed their Zins. In fact, I had purchased their Zins. This time, not so much.
google avatar

Conny L.

Yelp
Very friendly staff at this winery nestled between SLO and Arroyo Grande! Their specialty is their Zinfandel, they have different vintages from different vineyards to taste, some of our favorite red wines in the area. The Muchacho and Dos Más are great wines for a BBQ or meat dish, they also offer Rosé and a Chardonnay, which are good, but not as enjoyable as the red wines. They're very dog friendly, and often have live music on their outdoor patio. It's easy to come here with larger groups, as their outdoor furniture is modular and lightweight, so you cab easily group a few tables together or add extra seating. They also sell cute shirts inside that are made from the softest fabric - I keep adding to my fan Saucelito collection. :)

Anna B.

Yelp
I know that there are over 400 wineries in SLO County and I haven't been to all of them, but I do know that out of all the ones I have been to - this one is my favorite. Every winery in this county has its own vibe, and I love this one. It is so mellow here. If you are into reds, this is the place to go because they are known for their Zinfandels. We got there, started with our first glass, grabbed a table and the associates would come out to pour our next tastings. The conversations we had with the associates were great, they were super friendly, knew so much about the area and the wine. We also ordered a cheese plate and instead of just giving it to us in the plastic container that it was sold in, they plated it for us and brought it out. Tasting price is affordable and so are their delicious wine bottles. I love the scenery in that area and I can't wait to go back and enjoy it again!

Yelp
Not that our expectations were low by any stretch, but the experience here was wonderful. From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed (we stayed a bit past closing, and they were totally cool with it), the service came with a smile and genuine interest in who we are and what we're about, as well as truly informative background on all of the varietals we tasted. The Rose (and I am so NOT a rose dude) was delightful (crisp, not a bit skunky like roses and whites can be for me, not too sweet, and not too fruity), and the reds were surprising, especially the 2020 Field Blend. Had to purchase a bottle of that and the rose for my significant other.
google avatar

Mimi S.

Yelp
Awesome experience at Saucelito. They specialize in Zins and it was the perfect place to be. Our pourer gave us an extra taste of the La Blanch which we always appreciate. Reasonable prices and we opted to buy a bottle to enjoy outside as it waives the tasting fee. Very dog friendly. Our dog was spoiled and given treats + water which he didn't have a problem with. He even got to meet Gladys, the winery pug. Granted they weren't the best of friends and kept to themselves, but great space for dogs. I'd visit again when I'm in town!
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
Super cute little tasting room with some amazing zinfandel and Grenache! The tasting room is small and cozy. The outdoor patio area is breezy and relaxing with plenty of seating and a beautiful grassy, vineyard backdrop. Worth a try if you are visiting the Central Coast.
google avatar

Bill B.

Yelp
A relatively small family-run winery in the beautiful central coast not far from the heart of SLO. The outside tasting area is the ideal setting to enjoy great wines on a sunny California afternoon.
google avatar

Steve A.

Yelp
This small tasting room also has a nice outside seating area. The server was friendly and informative. The wines are not from the immediate area of the tasting room, as they specialize in zinfandel.
google avatar

Hailey P.

Yelp
We loved this quaint little winery about 10 minutes from Pismo Beach in the SLO wine country. They specialize in Zinfandels and my oh my, they are TASTY! The lady working the tasting room was so passionate and informative, we loved chatting with her! It was raining the day that we were there but they have an adorable outside patio/sitting area and it would be a lovely spot to grab one of their bottles of wine, bring some picnic munchies, and relax for the afternoon! Their tasting room is pretty small so if you have a large group it is just something to be aware of before you come! We can't say enough good things about the SLO wine country, it is a must visit if you haven't been before! To us, it tops Napa for sure!
google avatar

Conner S.

Yelp
I came here a month or two back with some friends and this was our favorite winery in SLO county. This winery specializes in red wines - so if you have white wine lovers in your group, you will want to let them know! All of their red wines are all different and spectacular in their own way! We grabbed a table outside and we hung out here for an hour or two going through their tasting menu. The employees serving us were all super personable and filled us in on all the details for each pour. The backstory they provided for each wine definitely added to our positive experience. We also ordered a cheese plate and munched on that as we made our way through the tasting. There are a lot of other larger wineries in the area, but this place delivers in all aspects. I HIGHLY recommend!
google avatar

Young B.

Yelp
Their specialty is Zins. Luckily I love a good Zin and I tasted multiple good zins. They also have a great dessert wine that's not on the tasting menu. I really don't have much else to add...their picnic area is nice and shaded. We saw a group of 20 celebrating a birthday.
google avatar

Dina L.

Yelp
On point seven months ago, on point today. Terri took fantastic care of our party, and each pour was delicious. Wonderful varietals and blends poured in a beautiful setting. While this venue is not the least bit pretentious, we still were able to hear about the unique and extensive history of the vines and the property. Glad to be a new wine club member. Love Saucelito Canyon.
google avatar

Irene M.

Yelp
Let me start by saying, I don't drink. I am simply the driver. However, I enjoy the atmosphere of a good winery. Saucelito Canyon Tasting was one of four stops and by far the favorite. My group had the tasting and the cheese plates. To be clear, the cheese plates are prepackaged and in a refrigerator in the tasting room. What arrived at our table was the cheese, crackers, nuts and dried fruits nicely arranged and plated on cheese boards. It was a thoughtful and appreciated touch. The wines for the tasting were thoughtfully chosen and my friends enjoyed the selection so much that we came home with a few bottles. This winery has great wine, excellent service, knowledgeable staff and a lovely location.

Yelp
Loved this place!!! Not one of the larger vineyards, this place offers a more intimate experience. Plenty of place to sit in the outdoor lawn. My husband and I had a very comfortable experience, we bought our board game and took our time sipping and playing! I honestly loved everything we tasted, but we ended up taking home Dos Mas, Muchacho and the late harvest (I haven't had anything like it!) at the end of the tasting the Late Harvest was bought out with truffles. What a surprise! Will definitely bring this out for the holidays. Thank you to the staff for being so helpful and for loving their work. It definitely shows! The Yelp check in deal is a huge plus- 20% off! We'll be back!

Yelp
Great small vineyard with very nice staff & area to chill & picnic. We came here for their Rose Release weekend. Faves from the event: 2015 Rose- New Release: 3.5 stars Follows the French provincial style of Roses. Very clean notes but had a slight bitter tart finish. 2013 Dos Mas Zinc Blend: 4 stars Medium bodied wine that

Yelp
Well the wines were good and had a blast on the sidecar tours. We purchased wine and a candle I will post pictures. The candle was a vanilla and the cost a little on the high side but again you are at a winery trying to support local farmers. Brought everything home and lit the candle. After about 15 minutes there was a pop. The glass broke and wax started to come out the side of the cracked wine bottle candle. We called and they stated that this has never happened and they would send out a new candle right away. Still waiting for the candle to arrive. Hopefully this will get it here sooner. I offered to mail back the candle but she refused and kept saying that this doesn't happen.

Yelp
When I was living in Manila, one of the things I missed most about California was wine tasting. Now that I'm back, I've been enjoying visits to a number of the wineries on the Central Coast. Once of my first stops was Saucelito Canyon Vineyards; I found the staff very friendly and unpretentious. Even better, they're pouring some exceptional wines at reasonable prices. While I like to think I'm an equal opportunity oenophile, I'm very partial to reds. Saucelito Canyon is a Vineyard after my own heart; their offerings are almost exclusively red; they were pouring one rose (and no whites) on my last visit. The main wine focus here is Zinfindel. Tip: While I enjoyed several of the pours included in the tasting, I was particularly taken with the 2015 Zinfindel Peterson Ranch. It opens with a taste of berries, and ends with a soft, round, spicy finish. I bought a bottle to take home, and they waived my tasting fee. Unlike many of the wineries I've visited in Napa, the prices of the wines here are intended to be affordable, and most of the wines are drinkable now, without cellaring. While price isn't everything, I never found that charging upwards of eighty dollars a bottle for non-vintage wines enhances the overall experience. At the end of the day, a wine isn't good because you pay more for it; it's good because you enjoy the way it tastes. Utilizing that metric, I consider the wines at Saucelito Canyon to be very good indeed :-) The tasting experience during my visit was excellent! My friend and I sat outside at a small tasting station they had setup there. All the sommeliers were welcoming, very friendly, and obviously enjoyed both the venue and the wines they were pouring. Bottom line: If you insist on expensive glass doors, overpriced mediocre wines, and sommeliers with serious attitude problems, then Saucelito Canyon isn't the place for you. On the other hand, if you want good wines with excellent prices and attentive, friendly, knowledge sommeliers, I suggest you come here for a visit.

Yelp
ms Terri helped us with our Saucelito Canyon Wine experience and we had a delightful and better than expected time! She was the most informative and shared her knowledge about the Saucelito wines and the region + ... The other 4 vineyards that we had visited did not compared in this area...
google avatar

Tracy A.

Yelp
Walked in and were greeted right away by Gladys the Pug. She very sweet . The human staff is very friendly too and extremely knowledgeable about the wines. The wines were good. The 2014 Zinn is a lot better than the 2016. My two faves that I walked away with a bottle each were Dos Mas and Rabble Rouser. Both are red blends.
google avatar

Terri M.

Yelp
For a desert wine this is tops! I wish I could get it in a club shipment...just a desert club. I'd give it as a gift but every time I buy it to give away...yeah, I don't share. Unless you're standing in front of me when I'm pouring it for myself, then maybe you'll get a little glass too. Just kidding. Sort of.
google avatar

Danielle J.

Yelp
What a cute little winery! The tasting room is very small but you can take your tasting out on the patio for more space and privacy. The woman who poured our wines was very knowledgeable and friendly. She brought the bottles outside for our pours. On a sunny day, it's a really nice shaded patio. The wines were wonderful, especially the zinfandel. We walked out with a 2012 Zin.

Yelp
Did a little wine tasting at Saucelito Canyon Vineyards. My 2nd visit and it did not disappoint! Terri was my server, she was amazing! Very knowledgeable, very friendly, great sense of humor! Made my visit that much more enjoyable! Wine is fabulous! I will be back next time I'm in the area.
