The Best Places to Eat During SF Pride, 2018 | Eater SF

"This relatively new Asian-fusion takeout spot in the Castro is a god-send both for its healthy bowl options, and for its hangover-helping, Mexican-Korean-mashup gut-bombs like the kimchi quesadilla and the Saucy Asian fries (topped with bulgogi beef and spicy pork, caramelized kimchi, cheese, guac, onions, and kimchi aioli. Poke bowls and ramen are also on offer, as are a California burrito (with fries inside) and Asian tacos." - Jay C. Barmann

26 of the Best Counter Service Spots in San Francisco | Eater SF

"Korean fusion cuisine — or mashups and remixes, in the Saucy Asian parlance — are what’s up at this charming corner Castro space. Kimchi burritos, satisfying bibimbap, and poke bowls are all good to go or to eat in at communal tables in a bright, dare we say saucy, space that’s decorated with neon and brightly-colored murals." - Caleb Pershan

Google
First time visiting this area from Houston, TX. We were looking for a place for dinner and found this place. We ordered 3 items, Kimchi Quesadilla and Poke Saucy Asian style and a lychee soju drink. The food was very tasty and the soju drink was very good 👍 😋. It is not too heavy for late dinner. We all enjoy the food, drink and the great companies. Definitely recommend this place for dinner.

Google
Best Asian food in Bay Street imo. The saucy bowl with shrimp was so delicious I had to stop and take note. It comes with clear noodles! I don’t usually see ramyun offered at fast-casual Korean restaurants so had to try it and it was good enough to warrant the price. Would definitely eat here again. Only improvement I can think of is on the music they’re playing - it was a bit too loud for eating inside. It’s not a big deal because the outdoor dining area is nice.

Went for late lunch early dinner on Saturday. The wait was not long at all and I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was flavorful and well portioned. My cousin complained about the poke bowl he got but he complains about everything that isn’t from Sac. I would recommend!

Google
The bibimbap was really good, it had the right amount of sauce, rice was cooked perfectly as well. The Korean Ramyun was also nice but to me just an instant dish that can be made at home, I like it tho but I wouldn’t want to pay $13 to have it again 😆

Google
I finally got to try the dishes here and I am not disappointed. I got the soup and it was just right amount of jalapeños for the spice. I lobe the simplistic it had, but it was still tasty 😋 I also tried the island poke dish and it was very delicious as well. I like how you have options for the rice or a salad base, or both. Very flavorful and right amount of sauces. I am looking forward to trying more dishes as time goes by.

Google
Ordered some takeout here. Got the spicy poke bowl with salmon and spicy chicken. Bed of salad no rice. I added guacamole, soy sauce egg, kimchi as well. Overall the amount of good was great even though I didn't get rice with it, it filled me up. The salmon was fresh, and the spicy chicken was ok. There was a lot of sauce on top of the bowl, but give credit to the namesake they did not lie it was saucy. Overall a very solid poke bowl.

Google
Ordered Tonkatsu rice bowl and the rice tasted like some kind of soap or detergent. I had to ask them for a new bowl of rice. The new batch tastes normal but I lost my appetite already…

Google
Wow. Wow. Wow. The food here is amazing. It’s right next to Barns&Noble so it’s easy to find. We had some incredibly delicious food! Our group ordered the Cali burrito, kimchi quesadilla, saucy Asian tacos, dukkbogi, street tacos… and they this crazy good lychee slushee with some soju. All I know is we ate it so fast before I remembered to take a picture. This place has got great cuts of meat, generous portions, and flavors that make your mouth sing.

Yelp
Came here for a quick carry out lunch the other day and really enjoyed my meal! Ordered online, which was an easy experience and I got the Tonkatsu Bowl, delicious pork katsu over a bed of rice and side salad with a delicious aioli on top! Pick up was on time and the staff was very friendly upon my arrival. I will definitely be eating here again and exploring different items on their menu, everything looks delicious!

Yelp
Saucy Asian is a Korean Fusion restaurant in the Bay Street Mall in Emeryville, on the second floor (where all the food places are) in between the AMC theatre ticket window and the Barnes and Noble. They have a variety of Korean fushion dishes: tacos and burritos with bulgogi (beef) or spicy pork. I particularly like their bowls with bulgogi and fries. Some of their entrees are good for sharing, e.g. wings. They have a variety of spice options, I'm more in the middle of the pack. It's not a new concept but it gets the job done, it'd probably be more considered casual/fast food compared to some of other sitdown restaurants in the complex. You can order on a touchscreen kiosk or at the counter with a human. They also have a variety of soft drinks, Asian soft drinks, beers, sake and soju to choose from. I've ordered from them on DoorDash, I've also dined in. Some of their dishes taste better for dine-in, the fries will eventually get soggy with all the sauce. It's not the best Korean food I've ever had, but it gets the job done when you're hungry and in the area. The cool thing about Bay Street is on their second floor they have a courtyard for outdoor lounging (chairs, couches, some with firepits, an outdoor chess set and cornhole), on a warm day it's nice to be outside and not feel pressured to leave.

Yelp
Visited Saucy Asian after a morning appointment. I've been intrigued by it since it opened, so I'm glad I finally tried it. I ordered a Saucy Asian Bowl with Spicy Pork. For a fast and casual fusion spot, the food was pretty good! Definitely don't expect anything authentic, but expect Asian flavors and good portions. I would say the portion would work as 2 portions for me! Service was good! I came in earlier than my pick up time, but they asked me about my order and made sure they had it in their system. I enjoyed Saucy Asian overall!

Yelp
This is one of the restaurants at the Emeryville Bay Street shopping complex. I thought the Asian bowl that I had was pretty good. Order at the counter. Not a lot of seating inside, but plenty of seating outside. The problem we had was that the evening was very cold and windy and they left the doors open to make it more inviting to potential customers. All it did for me was make me cold. I'll have to come back when the weather is better.

Yelp
Loved the California Burrito!! I ordered to-go and waited no more than 10 minutes. Two people could eat with one burrito (unless you're anything like me and pretend that you're going to save the other half for later lol) The outdoor patio area is also really nice, clean, and staff is very friendly.

Yelp
3.5 Stars. Fusion is hard to get right, and this establishment unfortunately didn't deviate from that. The Saucy Asian Bowl, Kimchi Burrito, and the Spicy Poké we got were all tasty, but didn't stand out in any particular way. They were definitely saucy too, but not overly so. As others have noted, the 3% credit card surcharge was quite surprising as well
google avatar

Yelp
First time eating in this shopping center. The food scene wasn't as scarce as I had orginally thought. Parking was easy. The first 30 minutes is free. Pros: 1) Plenty of outdoor seating 2) Self ordering kiosk 3) Korean-Mex food 4) Minimal interaction for food Cons: 1) 3% surcharge for using credit card 2) Bulgogi wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped 3) Wings don't match to Korean fried chicken places

Yelp
Place is hip, out and bad parking , we walked a few blocks to try this place. Their menu is simple and easy to read . I order bibimbap with beef bulgogi and saucy bowl with spicy pork . Choose the bulgogi beef it more flavor and complements the veggies. Their chopstick is good quality and has good grilled hold . I automatically got 2 water cups. I came here with my little bro. Inside is small and they have a few tables outside for eating .

Yelp
Decent casual and budget friendly meal in a convenient shopping area. I was happy with the amount of meat the tacos came with, but the flavor wasn't super impressive. Didn't expect it to be mostly outdoor seating. The absolute biggest turnoff though, was the 3% surcharge for paying with card, at a kiosk!! Did not see that coming, and it's not like there's any other choice when you order through a machine. I'm really strongly opinionated that restaurants should just include these fees onto the cost of food.

Yelp
If you're looking for a delicious poke spot. This is it! Service is always top-notch and super personable and friendly. I eat here every time I go to Emery Bay. Doesn't disappoint.
google avatar

Kyungmo K.

Yelp
I ordered the bulgogi bowl and the poke bowl, but it felt like eating rice mixed with mayonnaise... Without the sauce, the taste was honestly hard to imagine.
google avatar

Monica Bianca N.

Yelp
Saucy Asian has the great idea of being customizable to your wants and needs. I tried the spicy pork bowl. It came with lots of salad and a little bit of rice. I honestly felt like the portion of pork I got was good, but I had to sift through so much salad to even get to the rice. It had a good flavor, but overall I think it's a bit overpriced. The zippee was like a big caprisun. The service was great though. When we approached the register, we were met with such enthusiasm. Definitely liked the vibe. I would maybe go back and try something else.

Yelp
decided to eat at Saucy Asian while shopping in Emeryville. We ordered the combo poke, kimchi quesadillas, and kimchi fried rice. The poke was pretty sad, the kimchi quesadilla and kimchi fried rice barely had kimchi. Everything was smothered in sauce and it became really heavy in the stomach. I guess I should've known given the name of this place. The area is nice tho, and they've got more interesting sauce you can try on the table.

Yelp
Saucy yummy food Saucy Taco's - bulgogi (extra) - tender ultramarinated sweet bulgogi - topped with plenty of sauce - everything was sweet and creamy - tortilla had a good texture and was not dry at all Saucy bowl (chicken)- sub japchae (extra) - Japchae was tender - chicken was a little tough and dry, less flavorful than the bulgogi but that is to be expected - can't go wrong with the sauce and greens Service at the counter was friendly Atmosphere had good music and variety of seating I would return if in the area, this is a crowd pleaser for sure

Yelp
Here's what to look forward to at Saucy Asian. The Saucy Asian features three different styles your food can be served in. Burrito, wrap or Poke weekend brunch, oh and delicious! If you're a spicy food fan this place will grab the attention of your taste buds. I'm a light weight for spicy foods but if heat is what you want this place can get you there. My son's ordered a level 9 out of 10 and we almost called the fire department! We came in from out of town but we put this place on our hit list. There is a lot choices to make on the second floor of this shopping center but what we enjoyed from this place is the depth of flavor and variety. The drink variety is a little lite but they have the standard choices to quench your thirst. There are inside and outside tables to choose from and the turn around was quick for us. The outside tables are in the line of sight if you have kids playing corn hole area. Staff were friendly and helpful in explaining how the ordering process works. There are elevators just past H&M if you require assistance going to the second floor. I will return to this place when the opportunity presents itself.

Yelp
I've been here twice and I planning on coming more times! The location itself is very nice, very colorful with plenty of seating outside. There's an ordering tablet near the front door which makes selecting items very easy. Most recently I ordered one of their burrito's (with added crab salad) and it was soooo good! One of the best burritos that I have ever tried. The food has so much flavor and it just makes for a very good meal. Definitely come here if you haven't.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good and tasty . The cashier was able to answer all our questions and was very honest . He was very polite and my son and I enjoyed the food .

Yelp
Overall a fun experience! Total came out to $38 after taxes and tip. There are NO bathrooms available as a heads up. The bowl itself was saucy and delicious! The pork was perfectly tender and the rice and other toppings went well with it. As for the Korean ramyun, it was plated nicely but the portions were very small. The only protein provided is an egg, so I added soy sauce chicken which was $4-$5 extra. I wouldn't recommend the ramyun because of the small portions, lack of protein and price point for all of that. Next time, I plan on trying a burrito!

Yelp
Saucy Asian is probably one of the best food options that have recently opened up in Bay Street. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon after watching a movie at the AMC and the place was pretty empty, even around noon. The staff was super nice when we approached the restaurant and gave us an overview of the menu, including what were the most popular items. I ended up getting one of their burritos to split with my wife, and also a side of fries with spicy pork to share with the larger group. Because I was sharing the burrito, I went inside to see if they had a plastic knife I could use to split the burrito in half. To my surprise, they graciously offered to cut the burrito in half for me in the kitchen, and plate it up separately -- so thoughtful! I also had the opportunity to try out the Korean rice cakes. I enjoyed the spicy kick the rice cakes had and the texture was just right: crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Skip the pizza, ramen, burgers, and other food options on Bay Street and give Saucy Asian a try. I am sure you will find something off their vast menu you will enjoy.

Yelp
This place was incredible! Not only were the employees patient, friendly, and helpful with recommendations, but the restaurant is so well decorated and the food is amazing. I ordered the Saucy Asian burrito with spicy chicken (no beans or cheese) and it was sooo good. All the flavors mixed so well together and the chicken was seasoned to be so tasty. I think about getting a burrito here again all the time.
google avatar

Chad M.

Yelp
Combos just didn't work for me at all flavor wise. Zero spice in almost everything. Spicy pork should be renamed very sweet pork. Just ruined the burrito for me. Fries were underdone. Rice cakes were good. Kinda spicy kinda sweet. Fun chewy texture. Neither of us cared for the Kimchi. Again just sweet. Bummer because we wanted to try this place for a few months.

Yelp
Great fast, casual spot to grab Asian Korean food. I love their premade bases with the ability to customize with your choice of protein. There were plenty of options, even for vegetarians. Each bowl (what I tried) came quickly and packed to the brim.

Yelp
The workers were so nice. We were talking a while looking at the menu, but they took initiative to recommend some things for us, answer questions, and showed us that we could order on the tablet. Food was really good and loved the spicy sauce! Burrito was filling and wings were fire. Tacos are better for lunch time. Will be back!

Yelp
Saucy Asian is such great new addition to Bay Street Emeryville. After a trip to IKEA we decided to check out all of the new shops and restaurant spots that have been recently added. If you haven't been in a while, highly recommend! Saucy Asian specifically is located right in between the movie theater and Barnes & Noble. The restaurant (also has an SF location) exudes vibrance, good eats, and good vibes. With indoor/outdoor seating, we chose to sit outdoors and watch shoppers/movie goers alike. Reminiscent of Seoul, South Korea, the owner's vision is to transport you there for a meal and experience. The menu is so fun with bowls, tacos, burritos, pokè, sides & specials, and fun sips (ice pop drinks, beers from Dokkaebier, and more). We ordered the Cali burrito with spicy chicken, the Saucy Asian burrito with bulgogi beef, and the Kimchi fried rice. With a hashtag #getsauced, we def did and would come back for it! The Saucy Asian burrito comes with gochujang aioli, the Cali comes with a a garlic sauce, and the Kimchi fried rice comes with a kimchi aioli..all equally satisfying and saucyyyy. Would love to return and try the Seoul Cheesesteak, Saucy Asian fries, and Kimchi Quesadilla. Great value for food that's innovative, fresh, and flavorful. As a new restaurant, many kudos & wishing nothing but the best! Can't wait for round 2!
google avatar

Alejandra R.

Yelp
I had the saucy Asian burrito with spicy pork. The only hot sauce option is sriracha. Nothing was spicy about the meat and the burrito was overpowered with sweetness, it was not something my tastebuds agreed with. The service is good. There's limited seating inside and there's outdoor seating available. I'm not sure I would make another visit.
google avatar

Daniel A.

Yelp
Yum! Had the spicy chicken bibimbap bowl. Super good! Love that I could get it over salad. Was sad that they didn't have wine. It was on the menu, but I guess they were out? Aside from the no wine, food was good.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
A little disappointed by the volume of rice compared to the rest of the portions. The service was good and the food what's tasty, but all in all it did not leave me with great satisfaction. The dining room is clean and bright. Great location.

Yelp
This place is absolutely AMAZING! The door was open so we went inside at 1110 and asked the person behind the counter what time they opened. He said, "I'll serve you" (we found out they opened at 11.30). My wife and I ordered the Asian bowl. Mine with Bulgogi and my wife had chicken and daikon. They were so good. The heat was minimal, the serving plentiful and the seasoning just perfect. I'm no expert on Korean food but I have definitely had my fair share eating at different Korean restaurants throughout the Bay Area and Southern California. This place ranks in the top three (my personal opinion) I went back inside to get a to go container and spoke with the worker. As it turned out he was the owner. He was incredible. He had such a great personality that welcomes you (we felt very welcomed). As it turned out, we have some very similar life values so we hit it off! My wife and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. We will be back with some friends!

Yelp
Saucy Asian has improved so much since the first time I ordered. Food used to be so greasy it was impossible for me to eat... but the flavor was still there. One year passed and IM BEYOND AMAZED! it got so much better it is now my favorite spot for KimChi Fried Rice. CHICKEN WINGS ARE THE BEST I'VE TRIED IN BAY AREA! so crunchy. Toppings are very good it doesn't matter which one you choose. I had to come in person to taste it as hot as possible. Service was great, Uvaldo at the register and the guys in kitchen are kind and attentive (also, I love that I can see what's happening in the kitchen because you can see how clean they are while working). Place is really cute for instagram pictures. Presentation for the food is the best. I eat regularly at least twice a month here. I am a Saucy Asian lover 100%!!!

Yelp
We made our way through the rain to check out Saucy Asian for their grand opening. It was around 2:30pm and the line was short. It's located upstairs at Bay Street mall in between AMC and Barnes and Nobles. The place is small; there is limited seating inside and some outdoor seating in front of the establishment. However, lots of outdoor seating around the lounging area at Bay Street. Because it was their grand opening, the second 100 customers in line will receive either beef or vegetable potstickers or Ddeokbokki. There were two of us, so the guy in front said we could each get one. The wait didn't take too long; we were in and out of Bay Street in less than 30min and I didn't have to pay for parking lol (free parking first 30min). I ordered the Saucy Asian Bowl with bulgogi. They gave me a combo with half rice and half salad. The bowl was very flavorful and their bulgogi is very tender. I would get again! My boyfriend got the Saucy Asian Burrito with spicy chicken. He gave it an 8/10 and specifically liked the gochujang aioli. He said he would also get it again. The potstickers were still nice and crispy when we got home! I also ordered the zippee, but it didn't come in a pouch. I had to remind them about my drink because they forgot to give me it. The flavor that day was blackberry lemonade, it was actually really good! They gave us a 20% off coupon for the next time we visit and encouraged us to sign up for the grand opening raffle. Overall, we would definitely come back again and try their other menu items! They all sounded great!

Yelp
I've walked by this place so many times and I finally decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed! The worker behind the counter was friendly. I ordered the saucy Asian bowl which had generous portions and was really tasty. My boyfriend had the spicy poke bowl which he very much enjoyed. Casual little dining spot with plenty of seating. Can't wait to go back and try other items.

Yelp
I work on Bay Street and finally made it in. Both people interacted with were so friendly. There are some seating areas inside as well as outside. It's a little loud inside but not so loud to not be able to carry a conversation. The art is really cute. There are so many delicious options, but I only had a 30 minute lunch so I grabbed the Cali burrito with beef bulgogi. I ate it on my way back to my store and it was so delicious. I will probably be returning every shift until I've ordered everything on the menu. If you're on Bay Street, or near Bay Street. I highly recommend. No food pic because I scarfed that mf lol Update: It is one day later and I returned with a friend. We came in about 7:30pm and it was a little slower than mid afternoon like the day before. Had a chance to converse with the owner, he is SO NICE. I ordered the soy garlic wings and the saucy fries, my friend ordered the spicy wings and a Cali burrito. The wings are A+. My friend who eats spicy food on the regular, says they're the perfect amount of heat (which means they'd set my mouth on fire lol) the soy garlic wings were perfect. I would definitely order again. The fries were perfect. Another item to add to my favorites list. We also got a melon popsicle. I had never had one before, but they were so creamy and delicious. What a perfect dinner this was.

Yelp
This place is so good I wanted to come back shortly after I left. This place is not to be confused with Saucy Oakland (which coincidentally is my favorite restaurant in Oakland). It's between the 2nd floor of Barnes and Nobles and the AMC box office, replacing what used to be a Game Stop. Came here with a friend for the soft opening and we both got the poke bowls. I got literally everything added to mine and it was barely $20. Incredible deal. Large helpings of everything. The fish was fresh. The sauce was delicious. The rice was a perfect texture. The service was fast and friendly. Slightly cramped on the inside when it comes to seating. There's a few spots outside to sit but would recommend adding heat lamps since it's pretty cold right now. Go check them out for sure if you're in the area or you're craving poke. Sooooo good. Definitely going back for the Poke fries ASAP. (I tried to go back last weekend and they were unexpectedly closed :( )

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were ecstatic to try out their bowls on grand opening day after seeing the captivating menu on their website. They had a promotion for grand opening day and we made it within 100 guests for the free bowl! Food: I got the Bulgogi Saucy Asian Bowl. It had rice, spring mix, japchae noodles, kimchi and gochujang aioli sauce. It was delicious! Everything went well together. The spring mix made the dish taste very refreshing. The beef was sweet and tender. My boyfriend got the Bulgogi Burrito Bowl. It had Spanish rice, refried beans, mixed greens, sour cream, cheese, pico de gallo, jalapeno, and kimchi aioli sauce. This bowl also tasted amazing. I really enjoyed the kimchi aioli sauce and the toppings in this bowl. The beef in both bowls were tender and flavorful, which I absolutely loved. We also ordered the Zippee, which was supposed to come in a bag. The drink was very refreshing and definitely quenched our thirst. I recommend trying this new restaurant on Bay Street if you haven't already. The service was great and the food was delicious!

Yelp
Last Saturday, I had the chance to check out the grand opening of a new food joint inside the Bay Street Mall in Emeryville called "Saucy Asian". I found out about the event on Facebook and decided to stop by. For the grand opening, the first 100 people in line would be treated to 1 of their 3 signature bowls and the next 50 would receive free pot stickers. FREE you say- I'm in! Showed up around 11:15 to a small line of less than 50 people which was nice- a little bit of drizzle but not enough to deter me from getting a free bowl. While standing in line, I met a couple of folks who'd already eaten here at the restaurants soft opening and since then. They gave great food recommendations which I'll leave below. Andrew, the manager, came out to greet everyone and thank them for coming- it was such a cool vibe...there was a photographer on hand to capture the ambience. The line started to build up as soon as the doors opened so I'm glad I got there early. I ordered the Saucy Asian Bowl which comes with rice or mixed greens, japchae noodles, fresh slaw, kimchi, greens, carrots, fried shallots and gochujang aioli. You get a choice of a protein topper (in the form of either meat, seafood, tofu or mushrooms). I'm pescatarian so I added garlic shrimp for $2. The shallots were a little thick and fried a little too hard. PASS But the shrimp had a lot of flavor My Mom texted me while I was in line asking for me to pick something up for her. So I ordered the chicken wings and the kimchi fried rice. The chicken wings come in two flavors (sweet & spicy and spicy/garlic).... I ordered the spicy and garlic for her. The kimchi fried rice comes with a poached egg. For context, I decided not to eat at the restaurant....there is seating inside but it's limited. It's basically walk up and order your food to go or sit down and eat there. Inside, it's a little tight with less than 15 seats but there is some outside seating available. I'm definitely going to grab a table and enjoy my next meal there. On the way home, I had to stop and run an errand so the bag of food fell over- hence the not so pretty food pics. Now to what you're waiting for...the food review. SAUCY ASIAN BOWL- 8/10- the flavor of the garlic shrimp was on point and I love kimchi so you can't go wrong. Also, they were NOT stingy with the shrimp at all which is a plus. CHICKEN WINGS- They smelled amazing but I'm pescatarian- Mom gave them a 7.5/10 because she wanted the sweet and spicy flavor instead. KIMCH FRIED RICE- Mom had been fasting so the rice was a little to much for her but I enjoyed it the next day. The folks in line who have eaten here before made great suggestions like the Cali burrito, the Saucy Asian fries and the Bibimap. I will definitely come back to try out the fries and a few other items.

Yelp
Loved this place! First off, 7.99 sake slushies is an immediate yes. Also the menu is huge and I gotta come back and try more things. I had the tankatsu over rice and salad, which came with delicious sauces, though I still got hot sauce on the side. It was a ton of food and I could barely finish it. Next time I wanna try the bibambap or poke! There's just so much to choose from.

Yelp
I've always been such a fan of their food from the San Francisco location so when I heard about their new location in Emeryville-- it was a must go for me. Their location is huge! Spacious indoor and outdoor seating. Idk why there's something about restaurants having a mix of high top and regular tables; which Saucy Asian has lol The ambiance is exactly how you'd expect when you read their name, see the artwork and see the presentation of the eats. It's vibrant, artsy, fun, etc. etc.! IMO, from the artwork, to the furniture, to the food-- aesthetically pleasing to the eyes! Service was excellent! I had the honor of meeting Andrew (I believe he's the manager? Or owner? I can't remember, sorry if you're reading this), and his hospitality was 5/5! Even the staff in the back made time to check in. Let's talk food. I ordered... Saucy Asian Bowl Saucy Asian Tacos Island Style Poke Rice Cakes Saucy Asian Fries Zippee (a drink in a bag!) Honestly, you can never go wrong with any of their signature Saucy Asian dishes. Don't forget to Top It with the yummy proteins they have to offer! I topped my eats with bulgogi beef (tender and flavorful), tofu (I love tofu), soy sauce chicken (soooooo flavorful!). I definitely want to try their garlic shrimp during my next visit! Overall, this is a solid spot on Bay St. in Emeryville. They are located right above Uniqlo near Barns & Noble so do not miss out. This spot will definitely fulfill any craving you have before or after your day of shopping. SYOY, Rachel C.

Yelp
The service counter was very polite and helpful. I ordered the bibimbap with soy sauce chicken and it was a modern twist on the traditional korean bibimbap. I actually like the traditional style, so this new version with a spicy mayo sauce and greens wasn't a match for my palate. The meat potstickers were fried like traditional korean mandoo but I would have liked a little more flavor in the stuffing.

Yelp
Keeping in mind this is a soft open I give it 2.5 stars with the intention of going back to try the bowls. Pot Stickers -- not bad. I'd get them again Shrimp Street Tacos - lacking flavor & way too much onions. Will not try again. Saucy Asian Burrito - I liked mine with bulgogi beef - the beef is a little sweet & worked well. Co-worker got shrimp in hers and liked too. Kimchi burrito- I was told it was ok. We want to try the bowls next time. Those looked delicious. PS - $90 for 4 people at lunch. Not too pricey especially for the area. Lastly- most seating is outside. They have overhead heaters which we asked if they would turn on & it made sitting outside more comfortable. You also order at the counter - the person at the counter was very nice.

Yelp
We were hungry for something 'onolicious after watching my cousin, Jason MAMOA, on the big screen. Just so happens its Saucy Asian's soft opening. BIBIMBOP - shared the bowl! Good for quick meal / snack on the go! Spicy chicken wasn't overcooked dry, it was spicy sweet with a nice char that made the dish more tasty! The menu says Rice or Mixed greens...and our bowl had both. We weren't asked however, the bowl in its entirety, was hearty to appease the growing hunger. very difficult to mix with a spring mix so ended up just digging in! Missed the mixed pickles that we get back home with extra sauce to mix everything together with. The Egg was cooked perfectly. Drink- MAKKU passion fruit or Liliko'i. It went very well with the bibimbap. I definitely will come back to try the other dishes. Everyone is very nice here and the service is great!

Yelp
Great location, tasty food, and good variety of options! Came here with friends to catch up, and my island poke was tasty, I added spicy aoli to it and got it half rice, half salad. Overall pretty good, with mix tuna/salmon. Semi high priced but I guess it's the new norm. I like the fact they have a variety of items of their menu to chose from, Korean/asian fusion. Pretty good! Fun spot, with decent vibes and good service !

Yelp
This restaurant is my boyfriend and my favorite go to take out place when we don't know what to eat. I feel that this place does Asian fusion pretty well and we often enjoy their many food options. They have items such as Korean style tacos, burritos, and fries. The service is great! We ordered soju once and the server taught us a new way to create a soju vortex! There is not too much seating inside but it has a nice outdoor seating area right by the movie theater! It's a great food spot to go before or after a movie or shopping!

Yelp
This was a good experience. Staff was fun and polite. This was my first time and staff took the time to explain any questions I had. Not familiar with the food but it was good. Different because never had noodles with rice. Surprised that everything went well together. The chicken was good with the sauce. Also my first time trying kimchi. It was a little vinegar for me but I ate it with the rice and it balance it out. Tasted sweet.

Yelp
This place is amazing and they give out big portions. They have bowls, wraps, tacos, and Poke. Plenty to choice from and the service is great. I feel a chilled and welcoming atmosphere. So there is chairs and tables whether it's inside or outside by the Barnes & Noble. If you are feeling hungry or thirsty. I love Korean food fusion especially the burritos and tacos. If you come here a lot use earn rewards.

Yelp
Food - bibimbap - poke bowl- saucy Asian with tuna and salmon - Saucy Asian tacos - I had it with the spicy pork and it was really good. It has a good spice level to it. Location- Inside the Bay Street plaza. It's next to the theatre. The inside is a little small, but there are tables outside for you to sit and dine. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. It is more on the pricier side. I wish they gave more with the tacos, the portion was kind of small for $14. I would give it another try. I may want to come back to try other dishes that they offer.

Yelp
Stopped by after walking around and shopping for a quick bite. Wondering if the food was as good as the photos looked. I ordered the Saucy Asian Bowl with Bulogi Beef with a combo base - rice and greens and a Soju Strawberry Slushie. The guy at the counter was nice enough to give me a sample of the slushie and it was great- just what I needed after a nice walk and some shopping. The bowl was tasty and filling and definitely worth it. I also saw them making a cheesesteak sandwich on the grill and that looked good too. Maybe next time :)
