"Ohio-based Saucy Brew Works opens its first Detroit location on March 3 in Brush Park, according to a press release. Located in Bedrock's City Modern development, the brewpub and coffeehouse will include indoor and outdoor seating as well as a 'coffeehouse concept' called Saucy Coffee. In addition to offering German and American-style beers, the Detroit location will serve a menu of shared plates such as meatballs, roasted cauliflower, Bavarian pretzels, and thin crust pizza, including one pizza topped with Nashville-style hot chicken. Saucy Coffee will serve pour overs, espresso, and specialty coffee drinks. The Detroit brewpub marks the fourth location overall for Saucy Brew Works." - BethMcKibben

Pizza and a pretzel could be my last meal. I love them and having them in the same building, in the same restraunt on the same menu is everything i could ever wanted or needed. This was my first time here but it wont be the last. I think the restaurant is extremely spacious for a big city and I dig it. I'm from a smaller city so it's nice to have my personal space even though the tables seat multiple parties. Cool little touch. The outdoor eating is a nice touch also. This would be a nice place to take a date, a group or friends who want to watch the games. I have told others about this place and they agree that it is one of the coolest pizza places in town.

Came here for lunch and to try beers new to me three days ago, late Sunday morning. The last time I was here was October 2018 and it was a great experience then. The experience when I came here a few days ago was better. The bartender Kevin was awesome. He was friendly, knowledgeable about the beer list and the food menu, was prompt, making sure I was satisfied and provided good talk. I brought a flight of six beers of different styles and they were all very good to excellent. I like that they use a muffin tin as their flight paddles. I also had an IPA from a can that was poured into a proper IPA glass, as well as a Dortmunder Lager from a can poured into a glass. Both were very good, flavorful beers with great body. Bottom line, their beers are not boring! I also brought a 10 inch thin crust pizza with sausage and pepperoni. They don’t plop on a ton cheese, which I like, and the quality of the toppings weee very good! The crumbled Italian sausage and the red sauce were delicious and amazing. The thin crust pizza was baked so well that each slice held up the toppings, dry underneath and not soggy. One of the best pizzas I’ve had anywhere. The place is huge, big, spacious, clean and had a nice industrial meets chic atmosphere. They also have a nice outdoor patio. The men’s washroom was immaculately clean. I will definitely come back. This place delivered home runs, touchdowns and checkered flags on so many levels. They will be here for a long time! If you are using the Cleveland Brewery Passport then make sure you get your passport stamped here!

I have lived on church ave for over 4 years now. Saucy Brew for having such a friendly staff and cool location is consistently one of the most underwhelming restaurants to exist. My lost recent to go order attempting to give them another chance, resulted in a “chicken sandwich” the same quality of a school lunch from 2012…. I will let you see photos. This is the same with their pizza, consistent disappoint. I’d give them 0 stars if it let me.

They burnt my pizza to a crisp ...on top of that whoever cut it put zero effort as it wasn't even close to slicing through. I had to rip each piece of pizza apart just to eat it. The first time I came here the pizza was great, Nathan made it and he had great energy. So I thought I'd come back...it is very clear that some employees care more than others. Because today's visit was terrible. Pizza was tough and burnt at the same time. How do you manage that? Entire crust was inedible...doubt I'll come back after this experience, 15 dollars for a burnt pizza.

I thought I’d give them a try. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Pizza. It was dry, chewy and had a grainy feel in your mouth. This must just be a spot for beer drinking only.

I ordered delivery from this establishment and this is what it looked like! It was burnt, no toppings on 3 pieces of pizza and it looks like someone threw it in the box, literally ! I will never order from Saucy brew works again. now I’m sitting at work hungry! For $37 I expect a lot more!!!!

We had a small group of family go for dinner before a hockey game last night. When a server came over, he noticed we needed menus. All was good so far. After we had our menus, he took our drink orders, and we a good idea of what we wanted to order. The waiter then came back and said, "just so you know, the kitchen is closed right now because of short staffing and will not be open again for another 30-45 minutes." Why didn't he tell us that instead of giving us food menus and instead of letting us order drinks? We didn't have time to wait until the kitchen opened to order, then wait for food. We had our drinks and left probably an hour after arriving. The kitchen still wasn't serving. We had to wait to eat concessions at the game. Service was obviously very slow as well, but he did tell us they were short-staffed. Either pay people better or treat them better or something if you need staff. I am only giving 2 stars because of the beer and because a previous visit a year ago wasn't as terrible. I've still never tried their food.

Nice place for a quick few slices of pizza. They cater more to beer drinkers with a vast variety of IPA options. I had a margarita which wasn’t too bad considering it wasn’t on the menu. We enjoyed the Buffalo chicken pizza. A cool thing about their pizza slice is that they kind of partially cut them down the middle so that you can easily fold your slice to eat it. I really liked that. I would come in again for a quick lunch if in the area.
