Fast Food Chains Are Betting Big on Chicken Tenders | Eater

"A KFC-run restaurant concept launching Monday, December 23 in Orlando centers on chicken tenders and “everything in which you can dip it.” The press release states, “At the heart of the menu is its 11 sauces, which customers can order individually or in a flight of four with their choice of tenders,” with flavors like Chimichurri Ranch, Spicy Mango Chutney, and an eponymous signature sauce. “Everyone is obsessed with sauce — more is more,” KFC chief new concept officer Christophe Poirier said in the release, noting there are about 4,000 different combos of sauce and chicken possible, including tender sandwiches and sides like coleslaw and fries. The space is styled in hot pink lighting and wiggly fonts, a deliberate departure from the relative stoicism of the Colonel. As a broader market signal, “Recent market research also shows that Gen Z prefers boneless chicken and tenders over the bone-in chicken of older generations,” (Bettina Makalintal), and Poirier adds that “we envision limited-edition sauces, trend-inspired sauces and sauces created in response to changing taste buds.” The write-up characterizes the move as “muffin top dining, taking a restaurant and distilling it to the items that appeal to the most possible people,” and cautions that while the tenders “will probably be fine, maybe even great,” the jury’s out on whether KFC can deliver an acceptable chutney." - Jaya Saxena

The chicken tenders were thick, all white meat, crispy, and delicious. Fries are good. I only wish they had all Pepsi fountain drinks. All employees were friendly and helpful. We had a small issue with our order, and it was handled very quickly.

Honestly was expecting way more from such a big name. The sause are OK to gross. We had 7 different ones (can't remember the names but I added a picture with the sauces) and the sandwich was a mess and soggy. Nuggets are just regular nuggets barely tasted the 11 spices but the fries are REALLY good. Borderline too salty but good. The tropical tea was good, needed a little bit more sweetness but skip the hot honey watermelon thing. It's weirdly artificial with a chemical spicy. Staff was great. Asked for some sauce and refills and I had no problems. And every so often someone would come by to check up on you. Staff 10/10 freshness of food 10/10 taste? 4/10

Food was good. I wish there were refillable drinks. The sauces need to be more available. You have nice size chicken pieces, but the sauces are kinda tiny. Have self-service sauces! The bread wasn't anything great--just buttered toasted bread.

I have been super excited to try this, since I saw it was announced. As I approached this establishment you could see bold style, bright vibrant colors and unique vibes! Entered and was greeted by Jalen and team. He proceeded to tell me how to order and explain the concept. Which involved educating me on the sauces, which was extremely helpful to allow me to make the best choices as to my sauce choices for our meal. We choose a 6 pieces Tenders Combo, Double Fries, a Toasted Hawaiian Roll with Saucy Sauce and Sweet & Saucy BBQ partnered with a Pepsi... And a 4 pieces Tenders Combo, Double Fries, a Toasted Hawaiian Roll with Creole Honey Mustard and Spicy Mango Chutney accompanied by a Peach-Mango Lemonade Freeze. Also grabbed an extra Saucy Sauce and a Thai Sweet 'N Spicy Sauce. WOW. This was the BEST chicken tenders I have EVER had at any Yum! Brands Restaurant! Fresh, tender (excuse the pun), juicy, flavorful, and damn near perfect color. The fries were crispy & seasoned to darn near perfection. Let's not forget the Toasted Hawaiian Roll that was toasted and butter wonderfully! I was so excited about getting my to-go order that I was headed to the car to go enjoy it and Jalen ran out holding my drinks, as I completely forgot them. 🤦🏾‍♂️ Which solidified the incredible customer service experience for this food outing, great job!! All and all, the only feedback I have is I would have loved to try more sauces, but for an additional $.75 per small 2 fluid ounces container is a bit much... Otherwise, I loved Saucy! I can't wait to see if and where more of these stores will pop-up, I recommend an Atlanta location next!!! 😉😉

Saucy by KFC is about 25-30 minutes from the Disney area, so I had to stop by. It is a must visit for fried chicken fans looking for bold flavors and a fresh twist on a classic! The variety of sauces really makes the experience unique, offering something for every taste like spicy, tangy, or sweet flavors. My favorite was the saucy saucy. The service was great, and everything was cooked to order. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and served at just the right temperature. The fries were seasoned just right and full of flavor. The coleslaw was just okay. It needs reformulation. They also offer canned desserts, which is a fun and convenient sweet treat to end your meal. It's a definite must visit.

The chicken sandwhich was good. The sauces were all very different, which I appreciate. The decor is nice too and it was clean inside. Fries have some sort of seasoning that is nice. Better than regular kFC

Google
Big fan of this new KFC concept/spinoff. It's the flavor of those famous 11 herbs and spices but in a very new and cleaner environment. The design of the restaurant is refreshing and unique. The sauces were all amazing and I had the hot honey watermelon refresher, which is very unique and delicious. The chicken tenders were juicy with a slight crisp to the batter. I definitely hope to see more of these around America soon as I traveled here from NC to try it

Went on Saturday February 15th around 8pm. Low crowds so food came out quickly. Food was delicious and the servers (especially the young woman working last night) were all amazing. Very happy with the food portion sizes and they even give free refills. We also loved the sauce flight for $1.80. Favorite was the Smokey bacon ranch. Me and fiance both agree it was better than raising canes. Will be back!

Yelp
Taste: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 For a fast-food restaurant, this place has a surprisingly fun and fresh vibe. It feels like a mix between a quick-service spot and a trendy, modern restaurant, with colorful decor and a playful atmosphere that makes it stand out. Prices are fair for what you get, the food was solid all around, and (as the name would suggest) they have really good sauces. We ended up sampling a bunch of them and honestly liked every single one we tried. They add a lot of flavor and give you a chance to mix things up depending on your mood. It's a good spot if you want something casual and quick but still a little more exciting than your typical fast food.

Yelp
KFC is a family favorite. Imagine our surprise seeing Saucy here in Orlando, which we have never heard of before we drove past it! We waited until the next day and decided to use Uber Eats app for pick up which I'm glad I did because they had so many promos! Not only did we get two of the 15 tendie box (4 sauces per 15 tenders) for $22 each box, we had BOGO free chicken tacos (max 6), BOGO free sauce flight (4 sauces x 2) and free Key Lime Cake for purchase over $20. We also ordered french fries. This was more than enough for 5 adults and three kids with plenty of left overs for no-cooking fuss the following day! Items we had: Chicken Tenders saucy chick'ito bbq tacos saucy chick'ito kimchi tacos Sauces: creole honey mustard saucy's sauce thai sweet 'n spicy saucy ranch spicy mango chutney peri peri ranch sweet 'n saucy bbq jalapeno pesto ranch Side: Fries Desssert: Key Lime Cake First impressions: The restaurant reminds me of a T-Mobile store but not in bad way! The magenta really captures your attention and it's an awesome color from the familiar KFC red theme. The order was promptly filled ready to go. We were greeted with a friendly face and wonderful customer service. CHICKEN: These chicken tenders were pretty big! They were so hot and fresh, it was perfectly golden. Biting into it? So so juicy with familiar KFC seasonings. SAUCES: I loved the variety! We've got Indian spices in the Mango Chutney Asian inspired Teriyaki and That Sweet and Spicy. Creole inspired honey mustard! I wish they didn't come in such small containers though. I need sauce with every bite and you can easily run out of sauce. I especially liked the Jalapeño Pesto ranch. FRIES: I loved their seasoned fries. I think there's already so much flavor in the chicken that you may need additional water when you start eating these fries. I expected to buffer chicken bites with a side that was more bland but just expect to be immersed in so much seasoning from chicken, fries and sauces KEY LIME CAKE in a can. Whoa! This cake is very dense and absolutely delicious. While I like to taste more of the key lime citrus flavor this cake was just so good I didn't mind. The icing seems to be the cream cheese type, so good!!!! SUMMARY: Overall five stars because everything was good from start to finish. I've read other reviews for Dine in so just keep that in mind that I ordered ahead for PICK UP via UBER and my order was actually ready before the expected time. All the food was fresh. All the sauces were great. Flavors great all around. Love this as a great fast food option if you're ever in the area.

Yelp
While visiting UFC we found the elusive Saucy from KFC. We had to visit. The concept is fried chicken fingers. Nowhere near the size suggested in their pics, but appeared fresh and hot. That signature seasoning on the plain tender was reminiscent of KFC, but far crispier. We also tried two Sammie's including the Queso version which son said was the clear hit. Pricing was 6.50 for small one tender sandwich with two sauces and Hawaiian type roll. A tender alone runs over 2 bucks and sauces at saucy are additional. Teen also grabbed the Key Lime cake in a can. The cake is spongy and pound cake like. The cream is lighter than a frosting. Don't expect tart and lime, more sweet and mellow. About a 12 ounce can in size. Perhaps one and done, but overall a better than mid experience and worth the visit. Only loss was that no sauce is included with single tenders to try the flavors, like a Bacon Ranch Dip. I refuse to pay for two ounces of any sauce after buying the protein. Would you buy a salad if the dressing was not included ??

Yelp
Came to try the different sauces. It was pretty quiet inside, definitely clean. Everyone was friendly and the food was good. Sauces are worth giving a try, including chimichirri ranch, Thai sweet and spicy, and surprisingly the mango chutney! Just don't expect a ton of sauce, if you really enjoy it get multiple. Good fast causal choice.

Yelp
I love this fast food concept and rebrand!! The vibe and atmosphere is fun and fresh, ordering was easy, service was friendly, and food was really good! We got the Big Box and the 1 Tendie, 1 Sammie combo with the Hot Honey Watermelon Refresher and Peach-Mango Lemonade Freeze. The amount of food they gave us was very generous and the Big Box was definitely made to share between two people (or enough to have leftovers). I prefer the tendies to the sammie overall, but the fried chicken on both was juicy, seasoned well, and were a good size (bigger than Popeyes tenders). I also loved the variety of sauces; our favorite was the Spicy Mango Chutney, which was curry forward. I also think these fries are some of the best fast food fries I've had -- they were crispy, crunchy, and had a nice seasoning. Plus, they gave us a ton. Both drinks are very refreshing, but be warned that the Hot Honey Watermelon Refresher has a spicy kick right at the end; we loved it, but could see how others might not. The guy behind the counter was nice enough to offer us a sample of it before filling up an entire cup. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I really enjoyed Saucy & I absolutely Loved the concept . I ordered a 6 piece tender meal which came with 2 sauces of my choice , coleslaw, fries toast , & a drink . I chose the Saucy signature sauce & Jalepeno Ranch with my meal and then the Pineapple Mango lemonade freeze. The food was done quickly and the fries and chicken were seasoned perfectly to me & that was before I even tried the sauces. The liking of the sauce is definitely based on preference. The saucy signature sauce was my fav. I will say since I was dipping both my fries & tenders I ended up ordering another sauce to try which is an extra $.049. I got the Smokey bacon ranch. So out of all 3, Saucy sauce is still my fav ( it kinda reminds me of Zaxby's Zax sauce). The freeze was delicious as well. I would def come back to try more sauces & other drink flavors. The ambiance was quiet while I was there and the decor is cute. Now I couldn't leave without trying a dessert so I also ordered a key lime cake , which comes in the cutest jar that's shaped like a soda can. It was good and moist . When you come in you can order at the kiosk if you're paying with a card or if you have cash you can pay with a person at the register .

Yelp
Ordered from Saucy by KFC on UberEats and overall, it was a solid meal! I got the Big Box with 6 tenders and the Key Lime Cake in a Can to try something different. The tenders were okay--a little on the dry side and honestly too crispy for my taste, but the real highlight was the sauces. Definitely worth trying if you're into bold flavors! I'm a huge sauce gal. The cake in a can was decent, but I'm not much of a sweets person, so it was more of a curiosity buy for me. Very rich and filling, though, so if you've got a sweet tooth, you'll probably love it. Presentation is cute too. For drinks, I had the Passion Fruit, Orange, and Guava juice, which was kinda mid. Way too much orange flavor overpowering everything else. Would've loved a more balanced mix. All in all, a pretty filling meal with some hits and misses. If you're curious about the sauces, I'd say give it a shot!

Yelp
Saucy is a good spot with a wide variety of sauces, lots of flavors and most were really good. Prices felt a bit high for fast food, but the portions were decent. The standout was the ambiance, it's a nice vibe. Super colorful, fun, and well put together. I appreciate the option to order on screens so I can take my time looking over the menu.

Yelp
KFC's new Saucy tenders are an absolute win. The tenders themselves were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and super easy to order. But the real highlight is the sauces. I didn't realize how much I wanted or needed this kind of flavor variety from KFC. The Jalapeño Bacon Ranch was bold without being overpowering, while the Sweet Thai stood out as a sweet, tangy option I think even picky eaters would enjoy. It's clear KFC put thought into making these sauces appealing to a wide range of tastes. The crinkle fries were a bit on the bland side, but they weren't terrible--just overshadowed by everything else. On a brighter note, the Passion Fruit Refresher was a delightful surprise, refreshing and not overly sweet. All in all, I'll definitely be back. This is the kind of fast food upgrade I didn't know I needed. It's definitely busy establishment so bring your patience.

Yelp
Saucy is a new (late 2024) concept from KFC, formerly known as Kentucky Fried Chicken. I feel like Colonel Sanders's Great Great Grandkids got together and were like "Whoa dude... let's take Pop-Pop Harland's delicious food and recipe and change a few things about it and start a new restaurant that just serves everyones favorite food.... chicken tenders... Kinda like Raising Cane's but instead of one sauce... let's make a bunch". Ordering (inside at least) is through a kiosk. I will say to pay attention to the pics as some "combos" have fries, and some do not. So pay attention! I was there twice and each time someone came by to assist with ordering. It's usually just fighting with the terrible response of the touch screen, and having to tap in specific areas rather than the entire big picture. It's a bad UX, but I'm a software guy so I pick at the little annoying things too much. Merlin had the best UI Ever! The food comes out fairly quickly, and the tenders have been hot and juicy each time... Oops, is "Hot and Juicy" a Wendy's Trademark? Sorry Dave. Maybe you and the Colonel can fight it out in hell! Back to the tenders... I'll say the chicken part is cooked nicely... completely cooked but super soft meat inside. The breading stayed on as I ate it (unlike Raising Canes which falls off) which was nice, but it was a bit too salty for me. For fries, they're nice and crispy, but on each visit, they weren't piping hot, they weren't cold but could have been more fresh. They DO give you a lot of them though. I was full on a 3 tender meal due to the amount of fries. The Medium Drinks seem like smalls at other places, so they could do better there with sizes of cups. Also each time, they called my name at the counter, then as I'm walking up to get my order, someone carried it to my table. Either pick one... Deliver it or don't call my name! Both made me look dumb. (Raising Canes calls your name and you go get it... simple and not embarrassing). It was like I was escorting someone to my table. Also each time, they gave the food and then came over with the drinks. There's too many people working there standing around. The real disappointment was with the sauces... which is what Saucy is supposed to be about. I think I tried 6 of them so far and not one was a WOW. For me, nothing beats McDonald's Sweet and Sour, but that was one of the OG sauces. It's all personal taste, so be your own judge there. At least there's more than one (Sorry again, Raising Cane's). Extra Sauces are only 40 cents so I got the Honey Mustard for French fry dipping. And if you leave a positive review on Google, you can get a FREE SAUCE!!! Way to incentivize... "Hey man, if you tell the word how great we are, I got 4 shiny dimes for you!" They have dessert in a "can" which seems like a "modern" throwback to their little bucket parfaits from back in the day! They're 4 bucks each which is a lot so I skipped. It's like they're making "easter eggs" to see if you see the KFC call-backs. Overall, the tenders are good and the meal was 8.99 which is pretty reasonable these days. That's for 3 Tenders, Fries, one sauce, a Kings Hawaiian toasted bun half and a Medium Drink. Weekdays around 5:30 seem like the sweet spot for no crowds. I just don't get it, why not just launch "New Tenders" and "11 Sauces" at KFC without all the rebranding and such. And let me get Mac N Cheese and Nashville Hot and Gravy all other stuff a KFC already has. Sure, it's young and hip and bright and pink, but bottom line, KFC is a known brand and I'd rather just have that back, and have these tenders as an option.

Yelp
We ordered the 3 tendie combos and some sauce flights. At $7.99, the prices are decent. The tendies were crispy and the chicken wasn't dry. It was nice. The sauces were all pretty good, but the mango chutney was tops. The fries were not bland, but they weren't notable either. You get a decent amount in your combo order. The bread could've been a larger portion; it was like half a slice. All the employees were very friendly and helpful. The place is very well decorated and like a pop art installation. The takeout boxes were eco friendly which was a nice touch. The ordering kiosks were not great considering 2 out of 4 were having issues.

Yelp
The Rundown: They serve chicken tenders and sauces in a vibrant environment. The end. The Review: After things have calmed, I finally got to try Saucy. I definitely enjoyed the colorful vibes and plenty of different seating options! The kiosks help keep things simple, and there are plenty to not feel like you'll be waiting forever to order. The prices were okay for what you got ($8 for a chicken tender meal with drink seems to be the standard). They had some interesting drink options, with small up charges for specialty drinks like hot watermelon. For those used to the offering: There are no refills. The staff come out with your order when it's ready and bring it to you. And that's about it. The tables were not the cleanest, and on this visit there was zero soap in the bathroom. I notified an employee. The food itself was excellent. Tenders were a decent size, and the sauce was indeed good however it is a bit small of a quantity for what you get. If you have 3 tenders I'd anticipate they'd provide you with enough sauce for 3 tenders. And forget about having any sauce to dip your fries. The fries were really good, I'm a hit or miss fry person and these hit. The seasoning was nice, so fortunately sauce was not a requirement. The bread I was confused. I thought it was served with Hawaiian rolls but instead it just seemed like a half hot dog bun of a garlic bread? It was good but not what I expected, maybe I did not fully read my order or something cause it seemed everyone had that side. Other sides were available for a small up charge. By time finished eating, about 30 min, I washed my hands and found soap still had not been refilled. Tables also were not cleaned. So this would be a key area for the crew to be aware of between general seating comfort but also if the bathroom is meant for "employees must wash hands" having soap from an operational point is kind of important as well. Is it worth a visit? For sure. It's a first of its kind and offers that unique visit claim. Do I see it expanding into a huge success with chains everywhere? Personally, no. I appreciate the attempt at limited offerings and something new but it also limits the customer base. And the flavors were not anything that felt like I could not get elsewhere. Time will tell!

Yelp
Now this is what I would call a better version of what KFC is trying to be in just soo many levels! Coming here was kinda a random day but let's just say it was totally worth it as what we found was chicken tenders that are as good as the original ones I've had at Saunders Cafe in Corbin! My chicken tenders had a good crisp to them and they were juicy on the inside along with that yummy 11 herbs and spices to make them just delicious with each dunk into the Saucy goodness! The sauces were all over the place from unique to just standard of them I really enjoyed the chimichurri sauce as well as the jalapeño as those two were just awesome but you can't count out their Saucy sauce too as it tasted like burger sauce and just added that much more of a flavor to some already good chicken tenders! The fries were also yummy and had a nice pepper salt mix to them making that much more flavor with each dip in their already delicious sauces! The key lime cake was interesting while it wasn't the best it wasn't the worst it was like just ok but needless to say the chicken and sauces here was where it's at! My watermelon spicy honey lemonade was interesting it was full of flavors and a bit spicy while I just didn't like it I just didn't love it but it totally grew on me in soo many levels! The chicken sandwich we also ordered was yummy with the queso on it just added that much more to an already yummy sando! From the second we walked in we were greeted and asked if we knew the menu and let me say this was outstanding guest service in soo many ways as the whole menu was explained to us and it was super awesome on soo many levels! Overall this was a yummy experience and I'd definitely like to see this concept rolled out further as the sauces and the whole experience was yummy and very fun trying all the sauces which I'd love to see the list of sauces grow that much more!

Yelp
Saucy has bold flavors and a fun, creative menu. The chicken tenders were crispy outside band juicy inside. The various sauces to try are definitely the star! Service was friendly, but everything is self service, so it was difficult at times to get their attention. Overall, a tasty spot worth checking out to taste test all the sauces!

Yelp
Let's cut to the chase! How are the tenders and sauce??? What else matters?! I got the 3 tender meal for $8. A great deal! The tenders are maybe medium in size comparable to most places. They have a really good crunch without being hard. Each tender has a good thickness and they are very very juicy. Honestly, I was shocked how good these tenders are. Definitely top tier in the fast food tender game. I got the Mango Chutney dipping sauce. OMG. It's great. Smokey. Earthy. Mangoeeey. Delicious. Only downside is that for the 3 tender meal, you only get 1 dipping sauce. You definitely need two. But you can buy another one for 49 cents. Trust me. Do it. Next with the meal you can a pretty good amount of fries. And the fries are...awesome! Seasoned crinkle fries are perfect. Just below top top tier status for fast food. Another shocker for me. Finally you get a drink. There are no soda machines so for refills you have to go back to the counter and ask. Honestly, I'd recommend upgrading to a large drink. With an additional sauce plus an upgraded drink gets you to $10. Still a good deal for a decent sized meal. My daughter got the 2 sammie meal. They are 1 tender on a small toasted bun with a pickle and sauce. Now they put on their general Saucy sauce on the sammie and not whatever dipping sauce you order. I thought that was odd. I'd recommend asking for no sauce on the sammie and then use your dipping sauce. That's just me. The 2 sammie meal was $12 and honestly a ton of food even if these are more slider size. Didn't see if they had a one sammie meal. That would be more my speed. She got the cajun honey mustard and honestly that was bland. They really could have kicked it up but instead played it safe. Skip this one unless you just want a relatively plain sauce. Overall, Saucy blew away my expectations. Given it's the closest fast food to me (besides Taco Bell which is 100 feet closer), this will be in the meal rotation for sure.

Yelp
Solid nugs, great sandwich, outstanding seasoned crinkle cut fries! Sauces...I either liked them or I didn't. Saucy sauce was good. My favorite was the mango chutney but I'm really on an Indian food kick right now and it played into that. Kids liked the bbq and the jalapeño ranch. Player 2 like the Thai and the creole mustard. The staff, all young fellas, who you might think would be rude or not pay attention....they were awesome, engaging and helpful. Super busy at the time so cleanliness was not top notch would be my only -

Yelp
The idea is definitely clever and the location is bright and exciting, unfortunately thats where my praise ends. For a place named "Saucy" I was incredibly underwhelmed by the sauces. Let me be clear the food is now bad at all, it just didn't meet or exceed my expectations. The service wasnt bad and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The tenders were fine, the fries were fine as well. The sauces really had promise from their descriptions but the execution was just lacking. I have met a few ppl that really enjoyed the sauces but for my pallet it missed the mark. With the amount of chicken tenders locations close to UCF there was nothing Saucy did to greatly differentiate itself from the competition. You should try for yourself and make your judgement

Yelp
I enjoyed this more than the regular kfc. I was a little let down cuz I don't care for ranch at all and most of their sauces are variations of ranch. The mango chutney was my favorite tho. The tenders were crisp and juicy, fries were nicely seasoned, and the bread was delicious. I feel like you get gypped on the bread since a serving is like half of 2 Hawaiian rolls and the bottom half is barely anything, but it wasn't a huge deal. All the staff here was super helpful and friendly, which you don't always see at fast food spots. Very clean inside, but the ac was actually a little too powerful for me at the time.

Yelp
Ordered from kiosk without issue. Wish they had a way to order NO ICE in drink. They had to replace it. Refills at counter little more difficult if busy. Staff were very friendly. Food came out quicker than I got a seat. Nice and hot and fresh. And to update prices the Small Flight is now 2.75 for four sauces and each sauce individually is .75. No big deal just letting you know. Tenders were very good. Love the crispy outside. Great first visit. Inside cool design.

Yelp
I was excited to try out Saucy, the new restaurant concept by KFC, but unfortunately, my first visit left a lot to be desired. When we arrived, the place was packed with a massive line inside, so we decided to order through the app to avoid the crowd. The app itself was frustrating to use. It was basic and underdeveloped, taking longer than it should have to place an order. Once we finally ordered, the app estimated it would take about 10 minutes for the food to be ready. 30 minutes passed, and still nothing. To make matters worse, the order tracker in the app completely disappeared, and since the app doesn't require you to make an account, there was no way to recover the information or track the order. When I went inside to check, the place was still swamped with people waiting. In total, I waited over an hour for the food. When the food finally arrived, it was disappointing. There was no ice for the drinks, so everything was warm and flat. The fries were hard and chewy, and while the sauces were tasty, the chicken tenders were the same as what you'd get at a regular KFC--nothing special. To top it off, everything was almost twice as expensive as a normal KFC meal. Then the last part of frustration was that since orders were taking a long time to come out, people were seated at the tables just to wait on orders. But if you already got your order, there was no place to sit and eat. Yes, the interior of the restaurant is gorgeous, but that alone isn't enough to make me want to return anytime soon. Maybe I'll give it another shot once the hype dies down, but for now, it's not worth the wait or the price.

Yelp
A week after grand opening, the store was short staff. While the online order said it would take 10 minutes to complete the order, it took an hour (no joke). The location has small sitting so if you want to come as a big group, please don't ask it's small. With it being short staff, the tables weren't getting cleaned and the restrooms weren't clean or have paper towels. The fries were soggy and the food don't feel like it was fresh hot for the hour I waited. The sauces remind me of chicken guy. They had different ones but I wasn't a fan of the ones we selected Peri peri ranch - kinda like raising cane's Smokey bacon ranch - taste like regular ranch Thai sweet n spicy - too spicy if you like that Saucy's sauce - not sure what it tastes like but it was alright. Chimichurri ranch Spicy mango chutney - not a fan The tenders were decently crispy.

Yelp
I went the weekend of its soft opening (Dec 22), and while I understand there are many kinks to be worked out, I still give it an average score of 3 stars. We went inside to order our food and used the kiosk they had available. We ordered food at 2:24 and got it at 3:08pm. It was clear they prioritize the drive through. My recommendation to future patrons is to use their drive through, no matter how long it may look. Our name was on the "preparing" column for a while, it then disappeared and did not move to the "ready now" column. We were confused and caused us to stop the busy employees to ask about our order. This seemed to have happened to many people, causing a lot of questions and stopping the employees to ask about their order and why their name disappeared. If eventually came back, and then eventually moved to "ready now." I'm not sure if it's a glitch, but that'll put people in a frenzy if names are disappearing with no explanation. I can tell they're trying to work hard, but they're so overwhelmed. Best to compare to is Chik Fil A, and it's nothing close to its efficiency. With a relatively simple business model and menu (just chicken tenders, chicken tenders sandwiches, and fries), I had higher expectations of getting food out quick (for being a fast food restaurant). I was surprised to see they didn't have a simple 4-6 piece tender menu item. If you only wanted tenders.l you had to get 15. This is what we ended up getting for two of us since we didn't want sandwiches. The chicken was alright, some meaty pieces and some heavily breaded. The sauces were good, but nothing that really stood out to me. It was neat to try the soft opening and get an order, but I probably wouldn't be back for its menu items.

Yelp
We went to the preview party . Had lots of fun. People working were super friendly and helpful. Chicken was very tasty and hot the sauces were plentiful to choose from based on your preference. I really enjoyed the bacon ranch. Definitely going to return to have a saucy good time again! Don't forget to get a desert in a can. They are very rich so it's nice to share.

Yelp
Went here to see what all of the hype was about. I found it unique that they offer 11 sauces in honor of the 11 herbs and spices that go into the chicken. I would say the chicken tastes true to KFC's flavors and I was surprised by how nicely fried it was. Personally, not a big fan of crinkle cut fries and felt like the seasoning they had was really salty. I did try to order their guava drink however they didn't have any left and I'm allergic to mango so my husband ended up getting a drink. Service was really easy. You just order on the tablet inside and then they call your name once it's ready. I like the color palette they have here. It definitely feels new and brings a pop to its location. If you're coming here, I'd recommend going in off hours. Don't arrive between 11:00 and 1:00 p.m. or 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.. I've had luck coming outside of those hours and never waited more than 5-10 minutes for my food.

Yelp
OK, so I actually visited this place twice before I left a review. So I let the popularity die down and then started to try to check what times were the best for off peak. I visited today at 5:15 and it surprisingly wasn't busy. I ordered the big box and then the snack platter. I paid six dollars for the snack box, which it was a drink, a piece of bread and one tender. I thought there were fries in there, but I was incorrect. Anyhow, I don't think six dollars for one tender and a drink is a good value. Anyhow, the tenders are a very solid four. The breading is all over the tender, but it is very light. The chicken is very tasty and I think the size of the tender is pretty decent. Unfortunately, for a restaurant called saucy, charging for sauces is a bit silly to me. Anyhow, it's just $.50 if you want extras. Each time that I visit, they are always out of a sauce. Today it was their signature sauce and that's the only one that my kids would eat. So, I got some others and including the Peri peri. I didn't like it at all! I also ordered a half sweet, half unsweet tea. When I got to the front, thank goodness I tried it because it tasted completely unsweet. I asked the girl to just make it all sweet because the tea probably wasn't sweetened and she did. It was still unsweet. So, I asked her to just change it all together. I think she was a bit annoyed with me, but we finally got it right when I got the lemonade. I told her that they should tell the customers what is good and what is not good and what their favorites are. They all laughed when I said that. I didn't get the joke. I then realize that there were a bunch of young kids working in there and then once I pulled up to the window, I was praying that my food was actually cooked to the proper temperature. I probably wouldn't go there again unless I was desperate and needed a quick unhealthy meal. The fries are decent, but they are very tiny and some of them are soggy. This time, I was able to try the cake in a can! I got the chocolate one and it was very good. It tasted a little bit between a Swiss cake roll and an Entenmann's fudge cake but, the odor that was coming out of the cake, probably with all of the preservatives, would probably deter me from getting it again. Anyhow, I do think the chicken is a solid choice and it will probably do very well in this area. Try it and see what you think!

Yelp
Tried it for the first time. See what the new concept is. Well I was underwhelmed, bread looks like Texas toast but way too thin. 1/4" maybe. The fries was not impressive. They was salt and peppered but not for me. The chicken tenders was fine. No sauce on the and I got the bbq and jalapeño pesto. The jalapeño sauce was the best. Got desert but haven't tried it yet cake in a can. Go by try it, everyone has different taste buds

Yelp
Food was tasty. I visited the first week they were open, and usually I would be kind and accommodating for a new place, but the wait was 52 minutes AFTER we ordered and paid. At a fast food place. They have a super small menu and it took forever to get anyone their meals. The staff was clearly doing their jobs, but there was no sense of urgency. They clearly needed like 3x the amount of staff that they had. I saw a wide variety of inefficiencies. Staff members handing food items back and forth and food sitting when it was ready. They ran out of bbq sauce, which wouldn't usually be that terrible since they have other sauces, but the place is literally called SAUCY - that's their whole shtick. The location was small inside and they couldn't accommodate the people who were there. If they had some tables outside (they have the space), this could have helped accommodate. If I hear that they work out the kinks, I would consider going back when it's not busy at all, but definitely not until then. I don't have an hour to spare for chicken tenders.

Yelp
Starting off, I will say I'm not the biggest fan of KFC chicken but I was curious in trying their Saucy concept. I went with the 3 piece tendies which comes with a sauce, fries, toasted roll, and med. drink. I chose saucy's sauce and got the 4 sauce flight to try which were: chimichurri ranch, peri peri ranch, spicy mango chutney, and jalepeno pesto ranch. Ordering through drive thru was easy and quick. The sauces by themselves were okay. In my opinion, the ranch based sauces felt a little heavy with the chicken. Also the chicken itself was well seasoned, but with the sauces it was a bit too salty and flavorful for me. I'm sure it's a great lunch and late night place for the students though.

Yelp
I will preface that I am upping my rating based on being soft opening and that the mistakes are easily solved with a little more due diligence and getting used to large crowds, which is the entire point of soft opening and would make this 5 stars. Plus they are clearly overwhelmed due to all the publicity lately. Please be gracious and patient with staff! Saucy! by KFC is the first of its kind and currently in its soft opening phase. The concept focuses on chicken tenders paired with 11 unique sauces with sides like fries and coleslaw, unqiue drinks, and desserts in cans. The tenders are flavorful, and do feel like a step up in quality compared to your typical KFC. While the prices are a bit higher than a standard KFC, they're on par with other chicken chains, and the quality seems to justify the cost. I loved the hot honey watermelon refresher. While, I will say that it didn't quite taste like either hot honey or watermelon (more like Tajin) it was still delicious and a refreshing change of pace. The sauces all tasted great (my favorites being their namesake saucy one and the mango chutney) so you can't really go wrong with any order here. They also use Hawaiian Bread for their sandwiches and side, which is so much better than normal sub bread. That said, there are some growing pains. It took an hour to get our food, and when it arrived, we were missing an extra sauce we paid for, and our large drinks were regular-sized. Additionally, the order system timed out during the wait, which caused my name and others to disappear from the screen--something that could frustrate less patient guests thinking their order got lost. While I expected a long wait this was a lot longer than I would've thought a fast food place where everyone getting the same thing would take. And my fries were soggy so it had likely been sitting a while. For now, I recommend ordering ahead with the app or sticking to the drive-thru, as those orders seemed to be handled faster than dine-in. While the food is great and worth trying, just be prepared for a few hiccups as they refine the process. Double-check your order before leaving!

Yelp
This is the FIRST concept store of KFC. You can dine in, takeout, and drive thru . They only serve fried chicken tenders, fries and fried chicken sandwiches. The sandwich is basically a tender in between two small buns with ranch bacon sauce. They has delicious sauces to choose from. The Sweet teriyaki is my favorite (with sesame seeds and pineapples). Limited Drinks options -pepsi products. No servers. You just pick up at the desk. It's New Year's Day and people are constantly coming in. Delicious food.

Yelp
This used to be my KFC. I ate mac & cheese here just a couple of months ago, place was empty. Now it's PACKED!!! Mac & cheese disappeared. The tenders are better than ever, juicy! Slightly salty seasoning, but extremely crispy outside with a tender juicy inside. Perfectly cooked. I spent 50¢ extra for another sauce & it was completely worth it. It was 20¢ extra to substitute creamy coleslaw for fries; I'm trying to eat healthier. Coleslaw was 1/4 of the calories of fries. The mango hot honey cooler drink is really good, so unique, loved it. The chocolate cake desert was just okay. Be aware that the calories listed on the ordering kiosk is for a serving, but the cup they give holds two servings. Yeah right... down the hatch! Haha it's good, but not great, but still couldn't eat just half. Ordering inside at the kiosk is unique. Find your name on the screen board & it'll say they're working on your order, then it goes into the ready for pickup list. When they call you to get your bag of food, don't forget your drink also there. The Hawaiian bread is good, & the sauces are excellent. I absolutely love the mango chutney sauce, & the jalapeño cilantro ranch sauce. I chose those well. They have other great sounding sauces. I just wish the tenders were slightly less salty. My dog thought hers was perfect. You can order a cup of water free on the kiosk. It's a lovely system. Most things could be substituted, extra charges displayed, easy to understand. People were all nice & patient when I was there. Parking was scarce, difficult to backup & leave. The strip mall next door had spaces though. I saw people parking there. So extremely interesting to see Dunkin & Taco Bell get competition finally from KFC/Saucy. What a surprise.

Yelp
It brings me no pleasure to report that "Saucy" lacks the sauce. I tried five of their eleven sauces, and of those five I enjoyed two. The peri peri ranch was the knockout hit that I quite enjoyed, and the saucy's sauce was a serviceable standard tender/fry sauce. The rest were underwhelming at best. The chimichurri ranch tasted nothing like chimichurri, just ranch with a distant aftertaste of oregano and mint. The barbecue sauce was too sweet and not particularly tangy, and it had a texture and taste that resembled applesauce. I thought the mango chutney would be delicious, and truth be told it smelled amazing, but the flavors just didn't work with the chicken tender breading or the fry seasoning. For a restaurant built on the concept of "what if you could dip your tenders in many different sauces," it's not a good sign when you have so many sauces that suck. I will say that the service was nice. The cashier was friendly and kind, and everything came out fast. I also liked the hot honey watermelon refresher and would absolutely order that again on its own. Overall, though, the experience felt more like an Instagram photo op than a meal. The decor on the inside is evidence enough of that, swapping KFC's classic look with something more "sleek" and "modern" (because when I get fast food, I think "this is the future!") While it is undeniably a clean aesthetic, it feels hollow and inauthentic. This is a chicken tender spot, not a Genius Bar. I could let it slide if the food made up for it, but sadly it does not. There are much better places to get fried chicken in Orlando, but if you're looking for cheap, fast-food chicken tenders with fries and coleslaw... just go to KFC.

Yelp
Saucy is a new concept brought to you by KFC in which they've stripped down their menu to be strictly chicken tenders, fries and sandwiches and you can't forget about their 11 different sauces you can choose from. First impressions on walking in is it is very bright and vibrant and very fast paced. I ordered a 4 piece chicken tenders with fries, and also got their flight of sauces. For my sauces I chose, ranch, peri peri, chimi churri, bbq sauce, and their own saucy sauce. I waited about 15 minutes, then my order was called I got it, I was given a 3 piece and I was missing the bbq sauce. The staff was helpful and actually gave me a whole new meal and provided the sauce I was missing. As for the food, the fries had a little bit too much seasoning on it seemed like a little bit too much going on and they were also pretty cold. The toast it came with was very much on the sweet side, it was a Hawaiian roll and those are typically sweet but this was a tad bit too sweet for my liking. As for the chicken, I will say it was seasoned very well and it was very similar to the original recipe chicken at KFC but in a chicken tender form. I enjoyed it at first but after continually eating it I found it to be quite salty. It really needs the sauces to cut down the levels of salt a bit. I did enjoy the variety of sauces it came with, each one pretty unique and tasty in their own right. The bottom line, it seems like with this being a newer spot there are certainly still some kinks they are working out. The food I'd say is decent but there are other places I'd prefer to go to over this.

Yelp
The customer service was a little chaotic. Ordering food was easy but some people doing mobile order or waiting for food were very upset and verbally complaining about their issues which made me feel as this wasn't the right choice to come inside. It was a bit stressful knowing I put it to dine in but probably won't be able to as the seating was limited. There was too many people for the amount of seating and waiting in the drive thru might have been a better option. I hope the food is good but I might not enjoy it as much as we thought.

Yelp
Ok. So I saw this pop up on social media and being in Orlando made the trek. I heart KFC tenders. So obviously the chicken is good. Lots of sauces but I don't mayo or ranch which is 60% of them. Boo. But that bbq is bitter and tasty. The chutney was ace too. Got that watermelon hot honey refresher drink and that's straight gas. Just enough heat but watermelon forward. And I got way lucky and got to try the key lime pie jar. This is epic. Like jaw dropping amounts of deliciousness. I wish there were name tags to thank the blonde lady helping dining area who got me one after seeing how disappointed I was when ordering at the kiosk and asking about the key lime pie jar that was on the ads. Great staff, cool sauces and epic key lime pie.

Yelp
Perhaps I arrived way too late, at 1:15 AM. But just like a few other yelpers have said, the portion size is for the price are not matching. I ordered the sammie combo (ez crispy, spicy queso) with 1 tender with four sauces regular size. I chose a passionfruit guava beverage for this combo. Almost $15. .I did not receive a side of fries as that's not served with that particular combo. The portion was very small and I am very underwhelmed. I will not return to this place again.

Yelp
I did not take a picture but I will next time I go. Their name is for the sauces that you can choose for their "chicken tendies" this is your typical drive through experience- where they forget to include the sauce- like in my case... no biggie. I'll be back to check out other menu items but the "tendies" were served hot, they truly are tender and would have gone well with the sauce that I didn't get. So as far as service is concerned, I'll give them an almost passing grade. Their ambiance is bright colorful and modern take on the old Kentucky Fried Chicken fast food joint.

Yelp
5 star chicken 5 star fries, extra crispy and perfectly seasoned every damn time. Better than any tender joint out there. Drinks are good too they need to put more drinks on the menu. 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
Replacing KFC with this concept is pretty epic. I love the different choices of sauces that they have. The tenders are usually juicy and good quality! I wish KFC brought back their delicious wedges with these tenders, epic meal that would make a lot of us happy.

Yelp
Saucy by KFC is good for what it is. It's your run of the mill chicken tender joint. Honestly, for a name such as "Saucy", I'd expect this place to have a better selection. I decided to go for the Peri Peri ranch and I all I could really think is "Meh". Also, offering Pepsi products just takes it down a notch for me as well. The service was quick and they have plenty of screens to order your food from. Staff was friendly and promptly gave me my Peri Peri Ranch when I politely let them know it was missing. Where Saucy does separate itself from the other chicken tender spots is the vibe and atmosphere in there. It has a unique retro diner-esque feel and look to it. Lots of colors and cool designs coming at you. I recommend people come and try this place and see what they think for themselves.

Yelp
It was decent, but I'm fairly certain that it messed up me and my husband's stomachs big time. Which makes sense now as I'm reading the review from 2 days ago saying there was no soap in the bathroom. The food tasted okay, though I would still choose Chicken Guy or Cane's or Huey Magoo's over this place by a long shot. Love the color scheme of the restaurant.

Yelp
Decided to try this place out and I think it's a little overhyped. We waited for more than 30 minutes just to get tenders, fries and a sandwich. I also could only get the pesto sauce and bbq because they were all out of the other sauces. Which was a bummer because you didn't know that until your food was ready. I really don't appreciate that because I was interested in some of the other sauces and that's why I wanted to eat here. If I wanted to have bbq sauce with my tenders I would've gone somewhere else. The pesto sauce was pretty good though! It's great to see new concepts being tested in Orlando!!!

Yelp
Was interested in trying. Best tenders I've ever had. Fries were equally as good. The sauces were great. The service was quick and good. And the ambiance is retro feel and cool.

Yelp
We had to try this TikTok viral restaurant in Orlando, while we were in town. I have to say, the chicken was cooked to perfection and I enjoyed trying all the sauces. My fav was the Saucy sauce and Jalapeño Pesto Ranch sauce. The menu selection was small, but honestly that was expected since they're more known for their tenders. Ohhh and I loved the coleslaw!! The environment was super cute and comfy. Staff had top notch customer service and I'd strongly suggest this place to anyone visiting Orlando for lunch. Maybe not dinner, but definitely lunch.

Yelp
I came here tonight and was in the drive thru line for about an hour before I got my food. This place was new, so I don't want to go too hard but honestly I wasn't too impressed. I ordered 3 orders of chicken tender combos, and paid for extra sauce. When my card was charged, I was then let know they did not have the sauce I wanted, and said they'd replace them but once I got home I saw I indeed was not given other sauces. That was unfortunate. Additionally, there were no cup holders which was pleasant since I ordered more than 2 drinks. Overall the tenders were good but the fries were salty and the passion fruit refresher needed some more flavor since it was definitely giving flavored water. I'll maybe give them another chance once the hype dies down.

Vincent K.

Yelp
Staff were super friendly and were quick to recommend flavors and combos. Kimchi taco is to die for so yummy, I was full and wanted to get another. The saucy are cool, would be interesting for them to rotate them and add more. The tacos were really a hit I loved them and will be going back!

Yelp
Hands down best French fries for fast food. Service was quick, ordered on a touchscreen. Ambiance was modern and not too loud.

Yelp
As the phrase goes " you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig". The revamp of the KFC chain and new look is impressive, but food quality is the same just pay more for add on sauces. Where I feel they missed the mark is trying something new for themselves take the sauce and make chicken wings, or take a shot at chicken and waffles with the sauces . Hawaiian roll was a nice touch but why order a sandwich if the tenders come with the bread already ? We went at 1023 am opening day before 11 am they ran out of multiple sauces and some drinks. The name says it all it shouldn't be the 1st thing you run out of . Everyone has different taste and opinions so give it a try on your own .

Yelp
Liked it at 1st, since it was tasty, simple and seemingly fresh. 3rd time I got food poisoning. I won't go back. I have no tolerance for cutting cleanliness standards, getting customers sick is serious and avoidable.
