This place is an East Side gem - these guys really know pizza! Great vibe inside the shop too. This is not your usual chain joint. Had a Detroit-style square and some breadsticks that were perfectly crisp around the edges. You can tell they don't skimp on ingredients. Just wish it was closer to home.

The pizza here is great! The sauce and crust are good. We wanted a change from Jet's that wasn't too far and they were perfect. We felt good after eating it too. It wasn't too heavy. They recommended the hot honey on the pepperoni and it was amazing. They could work on time management and expectations. They take a lot longer (sometimes twice as long) than typically quoted and it is small and hot inside. They were out of small pizzas and could only make large pizzas. Overall, it felt like they make pizzas well but aren't managed well.

Google
A really good local pizza spot, Their pizza called the purist is my favorite. The fresh ingredients and their sauce are really good . Their staff is always friendly and polite. Stop in and give them a try

Google
This was delicious! I went with a regular pepperoni and add garlic butter parm to the crust. I had to wait an extra 5-10 minutes but it was worth it, and they threw in some amazing spicy (jalapeno?) ranch. I’ll be back to try more

Google
Pretty good pizza!! The sauce and cheese were good, the sausage pepperoni was my personal favorite. The crust was not my favorite but it was still pretty good. Overall, a nice local pizza spot!

Google
I was looking for "pizza by me" and came across Saucy's. I'm so glad I did! The pizza was great, with a crispy crust, perfectly cooked slices, awesome sauce (required, right?), and cheese that was just right. I appreciate that their pepperoni are those classic, slightly spicy, cup style. So good! We also got bread sticks, and salad. The salad was made fresh, right in front of me. Both of these were delicious. I believe I also placed my phone order and was helped in store by the owner, Justin (guessing). He was incredibly nice and helped narrow down some of their dressings. Even gave one to take home and try. The rest of his staff was professional and friendly too. They have a new customer moving forward. tldr: Order your pizza from here. Support local!

Wanted someplace different. New to the neighborhood and still trying out the best pizza places. Saucy’s Pizza caught my attention. Ordered online - very basic. Ordered a large pepperoni & Green olive with garlic crust. The flavor of the crust came through no doubt. I was impressed that the bottom of the box was no where as greasy as I was expecting. A place where sauce is in the name, I felt my pizza could have had a little more. Overall, good local pizza.

Google
Excellent pizza. First time trying this place and I wanted something a little different so I tried the Roni James pizza. Unique flavor profile. Loved the hot honey. Loved the Auntie Pasto salad as well. Fresh, quality ingredients. Will definitely be back again

Yelp
This is my first time ordering from Saucy's Pizza and I'm so glad I did! This pizza is delicious! A neighbor shared a pic & I was ready to order! The Roni James Trio pizza comes with a twist! The hot honey sauce with regular & beef pepperoni, dollops of lemon ricotta, and basil is awesome! Awesome. Awesome. There are a number of other variations off the beaten path. The crust had a crunch on the outside and soft fresh inside texture. It's flavorful and memorable. Order this if the ingredients catch your attention! I chose delivery and that worked out well. They followed my directions, exactly!

Yelp
Great pizza joint, one of my wife's favorites. They do a thinner crust, which doesn't take away from the cheese and toppings. Great staff that you can watch make the pizzas as you wait. It's a simple walk-in and pick-up pizza place, but it's very quick! Their specialty pizzas are unique and offer a different pizza option other than "Detroit style"! Small, comfortable, quaint place for pizza.

Yelp
This is the best Detroit style gluten free pizza I've ever had. It is delicious. This is a MUST when in the Detroit area

Yelp
A really nice little pizza place. They have a variety of pizzas and also have vegan cheese available (we didn't try this). My son got a saucy pizza that he adored and Definately wants to go back. Oddly there is a musical theme that seems to be rather hip hop and Grateful Dead influenced. So certainly unique. It's a carry out place (as all Macomb pizzerias seem to be) so don't expect to be seated. Service was friendly and there is one eating area outside that we used. The place also seems to specialize in faygo pop....I'll let you come to your own conclusions about that. Not the best pizza ever but pretty darn good.

Yelp
Me, and my family loved the pizza and the homade ranch was so so good. The people are very friendly that were working.

Yelp
The worth the 1 1/2 hour wait for Curbside pickup. With so many restaurants offering pizzas, I decided to try Saucy's. Placed online order at 6:15pm Tuesday night. It wasn't until after I paid by credit card with tip did it showed 45 minutes wait, 7pm. Arrived at location, 6:55pm, and was told another 10 minutes. Called again 20 minutes later, as I still haven't received it. Apologies for wait, finally over 1.5 hours I got pizza. Infuriating that I had tipped in advance and no discount for long wait. ..I would have accepted either on pizza I got or huge discount on future order.

Tasia S.

Yelp
Ordered two gluten free pizzas, when I opened the box at home they were both burned. Called the place to let them know and the girl I spoke with insisted they could not have been burned because they went through the oven once. I told her I have pictures. She said she would refund but that never happened. Very disappointed in the lack of quality of the food and the lack of customer service.

Yelp
I want to love this place. My experience with the staff has always been spot on. They always take any criticisms seriously, and actively work to resolve complaints. I think the Purist pizza with san marzano sauce, can be a truly great margherita pizza. One of the best. However, lately... they keep discontinuing items we like. First it was the spaghetti, then it was the meatballs. They offer a greek salad, but dont have greek dressing? The chicken wings ive gotten twice, just to make sure. You get approx. two full wings that are so oversmoked and cooked they are devoid of any flavor at all except char. The breads are all bland and everytime ive gotten them, have never even been cut. Dipping sauce was also missing on the last order we tried it. The pizzas have recently all been overdone. So much so that ive asked for a light bake and extra sauce. Pizza still came out burned (for like the fifth time in a row) and my extra sauce wasnt on a pizza but in a tiny cup. They have some poor clueless highschool girl answering the phone. She is completely overwhelmed as much as she has zero critical thinking. I started driving 40 minutes out of my way for PIE SCI in woodbridge Detroit even though saucys is a four minute drive from my house. Not to mention when you have a pizza like the purist that literally only has two toppings, uhh, try to keep them in stock? Its 19 dollars for a pizza with six mozzeralla spoons and some basil and youre out of basil? I can get a large four topping from sci pie for 16. You're dreaming saucys. Start taking your kitchen, ingredients, and orders seriously. Bring back the meatballs and spaghetti, get some appropriate salad dressings, and stop embarassing yourself with those god awful wings. PS. if someone orders a light bake, its bad taste to send it back into the oven to cook more in front of the customer, especially since its burned already. Thin Crust wide sliced pizza should fold, not break in half. Im so done with this place.

Yelp
Saugus is pretty good! The first time I had it I did not like it very much but after like a year and new management, we tried again and definitely was a lot better! We got circle the second time and that was were it was at! They have quite the variety of pizza flavors, which my parents enjoyed a lot. Overall pretty good.
google avatar

Leah G.

Yelp
I went with a create your own pizza because this place actually had anchovies available as a topping and it was perfect. There's a good selection of pizzas and sides. When we picked up the food the staff was friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
5 star pizza every time. A have never had a negative experience. Thin crust, but great and chewy. Quality sauce and toppings. Excellent!

Yelp
Pizza's pretty good. This was a 1 star review, but someone let me know that Michigan doesn't mandate masks. Coming from a more rational state, I was unaware of this. It seems unfair to me to burden a pizza shop with this failure in policy so I changed the rating. [Previous comment which I still endorse:] I was visiting from out of town, wanted to get carryout to have a meal with my very elderly aunt. As I approached the entrance, I saw the sign 'Masks not required'. This was alarming, but all I had to do was go in and get the pizza. Of course, not one employee and another customer were not wearing masks. The pizza had 5 minutes to go. I walked out, waited 10 minutes, got my pizza and high-tailed it out of there.

Rick Y.

Yelp
Very disappointed. Burnt, very little, if any , sausage. Very little taste at all. Long time customer. Sad

Yelp
Saucy's, Saucy's, Saucy's. How I love thee. From your tasty crust to your great offbeat toppings. You truly are my go-to pizza place when I want to treat myself. It's a little spendy, but you're supporting a small business that's really turning pizza into something delicious. Saucy's has a great, diverse offering of pizzas. I encourage you to check out the pictures I'm adding onto this post. My husband loves the Meat Life on their deep dish. I prefer the Hawaiian as a small round (large pizza ends up a little thin for my taste). The Hawaiian comes with shallots on it by default which end up caramelizing and crisping up in this really amazing way. And then I add double roasted garlic because holy beans I could eat roasted garlic by the fistful. Why isn't it always an option on pizza? Why can't I do this all the time? There's a lot of interesting side options and salads they offer too, but I haven't had the chance to check them out just yet. I will absolutely do it next time!

Yelp
By far my favorite pizza place around. Quick deliveries and friendly staff keep me coming back. I literally count down the clock as it's being delivered!
google avatar

Max M.

Yelp
The pizza and Everything bagel breadsticks (Party Styx) are AWESOME! I've tried a lot of pizza and this place is hands down the best. I highly recommend the spicy ranch. My guy hooked me up with some to try today and it was amazing! I think I found my new favorite pizza place.
google avatar

K M.

Yelp
Never have I been so mislead by a company name or slogan or so disappointed by a recommended eatery. Get lost in the sauce? Saucy's? More like Sandpaper's and get a drink because you'll need it. Horribly dry breadsticks and horribly dry BART pizza. Lacking in flavor on all fronts. Toppings were abysmal. Plus side- arugula was fresh and marina wasn't terrible. Definitely won't be back.

Yelp
So I checked out the menu and I was instantly intrigued to try this place out. The side veggies - ordered Brussels Sprouts and Eggplant dishes which were both phenom. Pizza - ordered a few deep dish pizzas which were solid. Crispy Detroit style with decent sauce; but were skimpy on the toppings making them not as flavorful as I would have hoped for. Ordered a round pepperoni which was similar to NY style which was decent Sango (sandwich) - ordered eggplant and it was so-so. They don't use a quality Italian bread which would have made the sandwich much better

Taylor J.

Yelp
Very flavorful pizza and really nice people. I did online order and everything was cooked to order and fresh ingredients. Detroit style pizza.

Kervens P.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best foods I've had in st clair shores and the staff is very friendly and punctual. Amazing owners and place!

Yelp
The best thing to happen to Grosse Pointe Woods, "pizza wise" in a very long time! I'm sorry I was born and raised in the area. Eastside girl and proud! I to love my square jets pizza-dipped in ranch dressing. But there comes a time when you have to expand your palate. No comparison. Saucey's is really fresh, homemade, and provides a unique combination flavors for all of the food is out there, but also the quintessential cheese or cheese and pepperoni EastSiders love so much! I remember dipping my jets pizza into ranch dressing. Let's just say this is a few notches above that. Couple that with their homemade spicy ranch dressing and it's a slam dunk! Love, love, love it! The cauliflower appetizer is something I have coined cauliflower crack. I think that needs no more explanation. Employees are HAPPY as they craft each order, to your liking-with pride, soulfulnessIf, & good-fresh ingredients. If the music played at any establishment, could be an indication of the quality, you'd know right away, you're getting something fantastic here! It's a treat! I have to mention how much I love how are down to earth, the management is as well. My Pomeranian and I go walking in the neighborhood daily and nightly. When we do order our pizza or salad, we love walking to pick it up. They welcome the pups-after all you're just dropping in to pick up your food and catch a few verses of whatever classic jam happens to be playing. It's a delightful place. And the pizza is just freaking good.

Yelp
First time ordering from there tonight (1/3/2020) Got the large Purist, square and cheese break. Both were very good, the pizza is a little doughy and there could be more ingredients on the pie for the price but very edible. Same story with cheese bread, however it was cut all the way through and had to cut myself. Bread came with complimentary dipping marinara and ranch.
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
Wow! There's a new player in town, and they're already a hit. Saucy's is well-named, as their sauce is . . . well . . . saucy. It's tangy and adds a nice little lick to their pie. Their crust is delicious too - I THINK it might be brick oven. Thin and a little bit crispy, but not like the Michigan "thin crust" crackery crust. Also a little bit chewy - nice balance. Their cheese mix is on point and their pepperoni was the small curly uppy kind. So good! Somebody told me Saucy's is the same owners as Telly's Place - one of our local favorites, and if so, no wonder it's so good! Some of their "specialty" pizzas and other sides look very appealing as well. Will definitely be back!!

Yelp
I've tried this place twice now. Easy online ordering, quick and kind curbside pickup. Pizza is bomb!!! Amongst all, the employees are so nice. Each pizza comes served with genuine delight and compliments that have made my day twice now. Thanks guys! You make me blush and full of delicious food :)

Yelp
I'm always on the hunt for the best pizza, and with all the raving reviews, I thought for sure this was going to be my new go-to. Sadly, my experience fell short of any expectations. I ordered for Saturday evening around 6:00, I was told 15-20 minutes but it was more like 30 min+. I ordered a small (10 pc) bread and large pizza with pepperoni, my totally was a little steep and nearly $24 . I thought it's a small price to pay for amazing pizza. When I got home, and I wish I had taken pics, but I tried the bread first. It was delicious, but on the greasy/butter side- probably why it tasted so good. I tried the pizza and the pieces were huge! I got eight pieces out of the large pizza, so that wasn't bad to feed four people. I did order it with spicy pepperoni, which I know tends to be on the greasier side, but this pizza, including the crust underneath, was drenched. The cheese was so greasy that it slid off the pizza, literally. Dabbing off the grease wasn't a big issue, I've had to do it with other pizzas but the grease underneath, there was no saving it. My kids ate it because they were starving, but I don't think I'd ever order again. The pizza was decent, but the greasiness ruined it for me. Good luck, Yelpers, I hope you don't experience what we did.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Saucy's since I saw that they opened and I regret waiting this long! If there is one thing I know -- it's pizza! And this pizza was really good! I went with the Roni James Trio which was three different styles of pepperoni. I love the combination of the greasy cup pepperonis and the spicy pepperoni. If you're a pepperoni lover, this one is for you. The Thin crust New York style was baked perfectly. The dollops of ricotta were a nice touch that added some texture and cut the spiciness of the pepperoni. Served up with a side of Brooklyn's own Mike's Hot Honey -- you can honestly put this on anything. 21st century Frank's Red Hot! The Saucy Stix were a basic garlic and parm bread, but it was a nice side. The bread was soft with plenty of garlic flavor. I also loved that the large was 16" it meant I had plenty of leftovers for a late night snack. All in all a great place and I'll be back to try more of the awesome sounding menu creations.

Yelp
This is exactly what I wanted from a neighborhood pizza spot. I grew up around here but currently live in Los Angeles and am always looking for good Detroit style pizza when I come home. This place did not disappoint. The crust was absolutely perfect. Buttery and crunchy exterior but pillowy soft inside. The toppings were fresh and delicious, we got the "veg life" with onion, green pepper, mushroom, olive, and roasted garlic. While we were waiting for the pies we struck up a conversation with the guy making them and it turns out he's a co-owner. He was hard working and a great individual, personable with a great sense of humor. A culinary school graduate, he told us all the sauces for both the pizzas and salads are fresh made in house. They even make their own ranch (which is amazing)! I will absolutely be going back to Saucy's every time I come back to town, this place is great!
google avatar

emily a.

Yelp
The best pizza I've ever had hands down. I got a deep dish square, fiancé got one of the specialty rounds. Highly recommend the Brussel sprouts and cauliflower too. You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Shane J.

Yelp
Solid ingredients. But a dry pie. Way over priced for the product and experience. Show up in time and wait 20 mins and more chaos at the counter. Lacking stock on soda etc. wanted to love it. Sad inside for it was my birthday choice.
google avatar

Nima B.

Yelp
Amazing spot. Came in for a Friday evening pie. Staff was great and walked me through the menu. Ended up with the regular crust pepperoni. Amazing, quality ingredients, especially the pepperoni! Had a few laughs with some of the staff and patrons while we were waiting, reminiscing of the 90s. Locally owned place, which I like! Do yourself a favor and grab a pie here if you are in the area

Jeff A.

Yelp
Finally wanted to see what the hype was. Tried the Aloha round. The sauce was not bad, but try and find the toppings on it. Except for maybe the onions. Maybe a square is better

Alexander P.

Yelp
Some of the best if not the best square deep-dish pizza I've ever had. Got the dilla and it is phenomenal. Garlic knots put every other garlic knot to shame 10/10 vibes with the decor and very polite and friendly staff. Cannot recommend enough!
google avatar

Carla D.

Yelp
Horrible pizza. Dry and tastes like cardboard. And not cheap. Not "saucy." Gross. Will not go back.
google avatar

Pants M.

Yelp
So just had our first za from here and it's AMAZING. We built our own thin crust with the San marzano sauce, artichokes, spinach, mushrooms, bacon, fresh tomato. Sam on the phone and Uncle Tony the delivery dude gave impeccable service. We will order again and again. Thanks!
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
Tried this place for one of my first pizzas in the area. The Detroit-style pizza is super fun and unique to the area, and very tasty. This was no exception - the pizza was topped to the sides, great crust, great flavor. However, it was exceptionally greasy, to the point where I felt sick every time after eating it. I recognize that's not a glowing review, but it really was quite tasty. If an overly greasy does not bother you, you might find this delicious, but I vastly preferred Buddy's, that achieved great flavor without the heavy grease that this place had. Might give it another shot in time. Salads were reasonably good!

Nicole W.

Yelp
We ordered the round with sausage and the San Marzano sauce. It was really good. We have had the purest prior and really liked that too. Will definitely go back again.

Lauren S.

Yelp
We've gotten Saucy's quite a few times since it opened. We recently ordered on 4/12; we ordered a large pizza, breadsticks & antipasto salad. The pizza was good. The breadsticks were doughy & not cooked. When my husband arrived at the pick up time, they didn't have the salad ready so they just threw everything on top; the lunch meat was not cut & just large giant pieces. It was really disappointing.
google avatar

Greg M.

Yelp
Ordered on line and got some of the best pizza and salad in quite a while. Ordered an Evie round a true white pizza wonderful thin crust and fresh arugula on the side so it would not wilt. Also got a BART in a square and everyone fought over it awesome favor!! For a salad got the Aunti-pasto super fresh greens and all the fixing in groups to mix with a wonderful lemon olive vinaigrette. Not the plastic box in the cooler salad like most places. Great crust in the thin and square. All the ingredients seem of high quality. Will definitely order again. Only downside is they don't deliver.
google avatar

Thomas R.

Yelp
Heard the pizza was good and always willing to give new place a chance. Ordered online with curbside pickup. Had to use credit card and was given no cash option. Here's my gripe, when I'm told when to show up, being 29 minutes late is unacceptable. Tell me an hour, tell me 2 hours but sitting in a parked car waiting 30 minutes doesn't do it for me. Pizza was better than some, not as good as others. When you have Buddy's jets cloverleaf licavoli Bommaritos within a mile or so it's best to be close to on time.
google avatar

Andrew D.

Yelp
Was on the hunt for a pizza joint still open two Sunday nights ago. Thankfully Saucys is what fell on my lap. Got a square, extra sauce, pineapple, jalapeños, pepperoni, and well done. If I could explain the excitement of my taste buds after the first bite. Pizza was killer and I will definitely be back tonight!! Highly recommend! Customer service was great, got hooked up with extra sauce on the side and ranch!
google avatar

Frank M.

Yelp
Quality ingredients that you can taste! Ready as promised, great vibe from interior, music and Team that says "Hi, Hello, Hey Bud, Enjoy and Thanks for your Business". You Nailed it!! See you again, SOON

Tracy H.

Yelp
Absolutely, love love love Saucy's!!! Cute little pizza joint with so much personality! The pizza is the cherry on top!
google avatar

Jeffrey W.

Yelp
This place had a rough start because they were busier than expected. Things are running a lot smooth now. This pizza place is a gem on Mack avenue. The exit can be long on Friday and Saturday evenings but it's worth it . The pizza is absolutely delicious and some of the best pizza around. The place is busy but the staff is friendly. Give this place a try if you love pizza like I do.

Katie K.

Yelp
Pizza is usually pretty fire, except for this last time. I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and it was overcooked with very little sauce. I didn't make any modifications to the order. And the timing of the pizza and pick up is always off. Obviously, I am a glutton for punishment since I've come back but the pizza is really good, but this was the last straw for me. I ordered one bbq chicken pizza online, received an email with a pick up time. Knowing that the order is never ready at that time, I called them to confirm. The person on the phone confirmed the pick up time on the email was correct and it would be ready then. I get there at the pick up time, let them know I'm there and wait five minutes for someone to come out and say 'Its just coming out of the oven, just a little longer'. Ok fine. Cue 30 minutes later (no joke) and I am in the same spot with no update. I call to ask what happened and receive the same curt response 'Its just coming out of the oven, just a little longer'. I wish I could've cancelled the order at that point. How does a pizza come out of the oven for 30 minutes? Pizza was good despite being over baked. I got the Party Party crust and it was unbearably salty. Like Everything Bagel seasoning mixed with extra salt. Would pass on that.

Lynn B.

Yelp
Had the round pepperoni pizza and the brussel sprouts, both delicious! Pizza was cooked perfectly and the brussel sprouts were a nice change from your typical salad. Will be ordering from here again!
google avatar

Meg W.

Yelp
Saucy's is is my go to pizza place. My husband and I order their Roni James Trio pizza and roasted brussels sprouts for our family of four about once or twice a month. I feel that they handled the pandemic extremely well, but I do wish they didn't have to take items off the menu because of it. There was one pizza I really loved that is no longer available, which is a little bit sad. But due to the situation, it's not some thing I fault them for. They are consistent, timely, and very kind. I would recommend checking to make sure that you received everything in your order before leaving, but they will fix it right away for you if there's any issue. But beyond that, their food is delicious, their pizza is fantastic, and their side dishes are awesome. I love that they sell and offer a higher level of ingredients and combinations for their pizzas, because you don't usually see that with a neighborhood pizza place. I highly recommend it!

Lu L.

Yelp
I don't know if it was just me and my family, but we hated the pizza. Maybe today we just got a bad order cause it was burned and just didn't taste good at all. The service was bad as well.

John C.

Yelp
Pizza is dry and not very good at all for the price. Pictures look better then the pizza tastes.

Alex C.

Yelp
For what it's worth: it has felt like a long time since grease for the soul tasted this good. I enjoyed half of the pie in earnest, closing the box on the pepperoni and house blend, as the sight of it was a trap in itself. Large round pepperoni; first timer - I will be back. For the haters: pay attention.
