Such a great vibe and love the atmosphere. The manager working was such a sweetheart and very knowledgeable of the menu. She made a great recommendation to try the fried chicken. It was Fried Chicken Friday yesterday and I love, love, love it! It was so delicious and the green chili Mac and fries complimented the plate. Definitely will be returning to try the other menu items.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’m so glad I finally discovered Saucy’s Southern BBQ & Cuisine here in the University Hills area of Denver! I ordered online for pickup, and everything was smooth and convenient — my food was ready right on time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. I tried the ribs with Carolina Gold sauce, catfish, hot link with barbecue sauce, and fried okra — everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Nothing disappointed me, and the portions were generous. You can really tell they take pride in their food and service. I stopped by during a slower time, which made it even better, and I left completely full and happy. Definitely a five-star experience — I’ll absolutely be back soon. Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving authentic Southern BBQ in Denver or University Hills!

First time & whoever helped us was an amazing human! I got what he recommended on top of my ribs and they were delicious! I also got double fried okra because i crave fried okra on the daily & the breading was delicious perfectly fried, WE WILL BE BACK! My bf said his wings were amazing and this is the only place that make wings correctly! I can’t wait to come back! 10/10 would recommend to a friend!! Also the guy who helped us order was friendly and super nice! Great customer service! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Also need to know what days they serve fried okra so i can come back on a day when they have it.

I did not enjoy my food. I ordered 4 wings, a rib, and a sausage link 🌭. My rib was burnt to gristle. The Mac and cheese was greesy and over cooked. The wings were ok. The side of fries was so small it was odd to look at. My daughter claimed they were stone cold The tea machine was not dispensing tea but there was a drippy goo from the pourer and that started me questioning the cleanliness of the soda machine too. that's gross. the bathroom door has grime all over it, and the place was just generally not clean. I won't be back but they need to focus on cleanliness. The staff was really friendly though.

The best plate of southern food in Denver! I felt right back at home in NC eating here. The staff were super nice and knowledgeable of their food. I felt so welcomed when they opened the door for me and answered any question I had! Everything was super hot, with them dropping the cat fish fresh. I’m so sad I found this place a month before moving but I will be back ASAP

came here for the first time with my homie and got taken care of by amaya and tyler. they were very attentive and helpful. food was delicious, best southern style food that i’ve had so far living in colorado. big thanks to tyler and amaya and this place deserves all its flowers. 10/10

The food is 1 of 1, the service is the top tier, and the atmosphere is very welcoming and a lil southern Mississippi vibe to it. I been going every Thursday and have tried almost all the wing flavors…you can’t go wrong. Mac and cheese is perfect and the baked beans are solid. I tried the catfish today and I’m telling you this was the best catfish I’ve ever tasted. He put some hot lemon pepper seasoning on it and it hit like crazy. Y’all need to go check saucy southern out. It won’t disappoint

Absolutely fantastic food. I lived on the East Coast for a few years and this is top-tier! Those hot links and smoked wings were my favorite. Customer service is immaculate. 10 out of 10. I’ll lick this plate clean, Carolina BBQ is my fave. Mia is the sweetest! Will be back.

Southern hospitality at its best. The owner explained the the ribs were boiled in the sauce, and it was evident!! The ribs were delicious and the sides were a delight! The mac and cheese melts in your mouth and the fried okra pops!! The friendliness and charm of the owners is what hits the most though. They obviously enjoy what they are doing and bring some Mississippi eats to Colorado. Don't miss this fun experience!

A family owned and operated bbq business that has good vibes and good food. I found them after a day of retail therapy and decided to dine in to take in the scenery. The guys working that evening were super accommodating and had good energy. There was a small wait for my food but I didn't mind at all. There is plenty of seating if you want to stay and dine or you can call ahead and do a to go order. This would be a good place for groups and watching sporting events or enjoying the music. I went with the smoked sausage, ribs, green chili mac and cheese with baked beans. The sides were all good, the smoked sausage was the stand out and the ribs could be better. I do understand the difference between a little char and burnt pieces, however mine were more burnt and it was a detractor from the ribs. I ended up trying to pull that part off and eat the softer parts. In the game of bbq, you're gonna have a few pieces that are in direct heat and have more flame exposure, just don't give those pieces to me. Capable of cash, card and contactless payments with no hidden surcharges like many places seem to be doing. The portions were plenty and enough to share or to make two meals if you're watching your intake. Parking is along the street and pay attention to the signs. Some areas have time limits and there's a garage nearby if you choose. I drove by because on the main street, it seems unassuming until you're looking for their signage. Around the corner are other businesses and some residences so it threw me off a bit. If in the area, I would dine here again to explore more of the menu. Of course, if you go later in the day, the chance that they'll run out of an item is higher.

For me, Saucy's was not good bbq and was just ok food overall. As far as bbq goes, the ribs were so tough that I had to cut them off the bone. If you've seen my other bbq reviews, you know that I don't want fall-off-the-bone ribs. But I should still be able to eat it without utensils. There was no smoke flavor save for the char that was probably due to direct heat rather than a slow smoking process. As you can see in the picture, the smoke ring is barely present. I will say that the sweet red chili sauce was excellent. The wings also were just ok. Again, substantial char due to direct heat. The Carolina gold sauce was very good with the right amount of vinegar. The baked beans and green beans were adequate. Nothing particularly interesting about them. Finally, although they don't keep up with many other BBQ restaurants in the area, you certainly wouldn't know it from their prices. Slow-smoked prices without the slow-cooked quality. They rely heavily on their sauces covering up for sub-par cooking.

Deep flavor and each dish is freshly prepared. Half of the fountain drinks were broken but still got a fresh Dr Pepper out of it. Food was really good and even warrants a return trip to try more down the line. The menu is straight forward and well thought out. I usually get buffalo on my wings but this time I chose red sweet chili and that hit the spot. The restaurant itself is fairly loud inside with 90's and 00's hits bumping up the vibes. Service is straight forward, courteous and down to earth. Curious on round 2 for sure!

Wow, I love being pleasantly surprised! Friendly service and good comfort food- I got my sauce on the side cuz I don't like ribs too saucy and glad I did! It was my lucky day as they had fried okra and potato salad options as sides- both were tasty!! Casual comfy ambiance as well!

It was alright.....took a while for the food to come out, not sure if they were short staffed or what and half of the fountain sodas weren't working so both of those killed the experience quite a bit. Originally we were looking for bbq but the place we wanted to go to was closed. The portions were huge so that was a plus but don't imagine myself coming back.

One of the best restaurants in the state! I'm surprised it wasn't packed when we went. I love the citation and history of the restaurant on the wall. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Every interaction we had with them during our experience was great. As soon as we walked in, an employee asked if we have been there before. We informed him we have not and he explained to us what meats, sides, and desserts they offer. The food was sooooo delicious!! It tasted like it was made with love. I got the catfish plate and cannot recommend it enough. We're not locals to the area, but this will be the place we stop at every time we're near!

I don't know why but Ive gone back to this place repeatedly giving them chances. I don't know whats up but this place simply isnt good man. Ive repeatedly got dry meat and I ordered ribs and they weren't even near complete. It was a pile of burnt rib meat in sauce. I wont be back man.

We ordered delivery on a Saturday evening. This was the first time dining with this establishment, and we were hoping for good BBQ in Denver. We ordered ribs, smoked sausage, wings and sides. Immediately I noticed the restaurant had a very limited menu. I like this because they can be very good at a few entrees but not great at a lot of entree choices, When I check out how good a BBQ joint is, I order brisket, wings and ribs. Anyone can slow cook pork or chicken and pour BBQ sauce all over it. Their wings were awesome. Nice texture, perfectly cooked and covered with sauce. The ribs were nicely prepared. I would have rated this restaurant a 5 but the ribs were a little short on meat. All of their sides are delicious. They get high marks for their BBQ and Carolina Sauce. The BBQ ranks in the top three sauces I have ever had. $14-$18 dollars per platter. Good price/value relationship.

Wow can't believe I've never been to Saucy's before today. Chris the owner was so nice and his happiness and joy was contagious! The Lemon Pepper Sauce is amazing - it's like a traditional hot sauce but it better! The ribs were fire, again the sauce was amazing. We got the mac and cheese and corn as our sides. I loved the corn!! The indoor area is pretty large but it can get a little Smokey in there. We sat outside there were a few tables and get's some sun in the afternoon. As you would expect from the title, the means were extremely saucy!!! They do catering as well. This is going to be a go to spot for us, I would venture to say some of the BEST WINGS in Denver!

Really great staff-friendly and helpful! 10/10 on staff. I got the wings and they were delicious as was the Mac and cheese. The rib was pretty tough. I was disappointed in the selection of meat options for a barbecue place. No chicken other than wings, no brisket, no pulled pork.

Saucy's has some great southern style bbq. The staff were super friendly, and I really liked their hot links and teriyaki corn. The Mac and cheese also had a slight kick. Ribs were juicy, and I'd definitely go back.

My husband, friends, and I adore Saucys. The owners are always so friendly, and their food is just as enjoyable. The combo boxes let you have your choice of meat, sauce, and sides. All of the sides are good, and while I've only had the wings and ribs, they were amazing. I highly recommend the corn and mac and cheese in particular. You order at the counter, and there's plenty of space to sit and enjoy your food. Prices are super fair. We have been to Saucys three times and will continue to go!

The atmosphere was completely uninviting the food was just ok. And it was ridiculously overpriced.

We arrived 30 minutes before closing and we were warmly greeted by the staff. Tasty food and friendly service. I will definitely be coming back!

Don and JJ are absolutely amazing! I felt bad for coming through right before closing, but they had a very warm welcome as soon as I walked in. They were extremely nice and accommodating, and they made sure I was taken care of. These guys are top notch! By the way the food is delicious! 10/10 easily

This place is not barbecue. They don't have a smoker nor smoke their meats. Everything is done on a grill, so that means no smoked meats which means they don't make barbecue. Wasted money parking to come in to find out that they false advertise what they are. Southern cuisine is fine, but they're flat out lying about having barbecue.

Definitely stop in if you're looking for a BBQ open after 8p on a Sunday night. The food was great - we had the catfish, BBQ ribs, Mac N Cheese, baked beans and green beans. Check out their menu, they had plenty more and other sauces to choose from. The night Crew tonight Aug 3 were the BEST, so welcoming! We'll be back!

MAN. This was THEEEEE best food I had in Denver! I loved how the ribs and the chicken had that char, it reminded me of eating out a cookout. Everything was perfect! The Carolina Gold sauce is 100000000000/10, it paired perfectly with the hot link. This has to be some of the best barbecue I've had in a while. The guy who served us was extremely helpful and nice! He was very welcoming and friendly, excellent service!! I didn't get his name, but we visited on the night of 01/18/2025. Also! This was extremelyyyy affordable too! For a three meat plate it was $23! I'm from Cali and a 3 meat plate goes for nearly $28-$30!! Such great pricing as well! The inside was so nice and extremely clean! I loved how they had information up about who the Saucy Brother's are. Those guys are extremely deserving of all the success they get from this restaurant! Wish they had delivery by plane lol I'd be delivering to Cali EVERY week!

For those who don't know, this place is slappin. For those who do, you know Saucy's should be slapped. Food lacked flavor overall. Mac and cheese was overcooked. Nothing southern about this place; truly they're all sauce. Nice to try once but I definitely won't be back. I'm sure they'll do well - good luck to you.

Came a second time. Food still slaps, and the employees are really nice and smiley. But it legit took them 30 mins to prepare the food. Idk if they were simultaneously preparing a big order or something, but 30 mins - just for some wings and mac - is wild.

Great little spot near U of Denver while traveling for work. Met Aaron who I think was the proprietor.. super nice guy. I had the 3 plate combo with sausage, ribs and wings & let him pick the sauces. Fantastic flavor with a touch of heat and despite what previous reviews had said - I found the ribs to be done just right. Did some sides of baked beans and mac/cheese which were tasty as well. Will definitely visit here again to support a small business!

My brother came from New York. Said he was dreaming about the food from last time. But work did not permit him to go. So I went to pick up food for him looked good and tasted better. Yes I got me a plate of ribs. I came first thing in morning shout out to David for having food ready and fresh. Because I came 15 minutes before opening.

I don't recommend this place, which is disappointing because the other reviews misled me. I waited over an hour to get my food here. The ribs were fatty and the sauce was drowning everything making my roll inedible. The green beans were EXTREMELY salty and I like salt. The Mac and cheese was watery because of the green beans. The wings were okay a little less crispy than I would like. Overall bad experience.

I was craving bbq and remembered I've been wanting to try this new spot. The space is bright, and the staff is super friendly! We got our order really fast and dined in. My boyfriend had the hot links and I had the ribs. The bbq sauce is incredible! Perfectly sweet and tangy, and they really load it on! The hot links were incredible too! I erroneously assumed hot links were child's play, but I can't tell you how good they were!! Sides, in order of my favorites: baked beans, corn on the cob, mac & cheese, green beans. This is going to be a new summer spot for me! I can't wait to try more of the bbq sauces. My next order: links and wings!

Got the wings combo with Mac and cheese. Wings were slathered in Carolina Gold sauce. They grill the wings and then sauce them. Nice little bit of Smokey flavor and crispy edges on a juicy wing. There are lots of places to eat around the university, this one is a stand out

Not impressed. Got the ribs, wings, fries, and green beans. Ribs had hardly any meat on them, wings were dry, fries were soggy and undercooked, green beans were sad and tasteless. Shocked this place gets such good reviews.

So this place is decent, the times that I've gone, the food has been closer to the end of the batches... Which makes me give the review that it has. I know that if the food was fresh, it would be fire! I'm gonna need them to turn over those Dishes quicker, so the quality isn't jeopardized. Eventually, if they start making the food to order, they'll be unstoppable! Ambiance is cool and vibrant, definitely a good spot to sit and eat

Love me some Saucy's Southern!!!! I've been eating their amazing BBQ for years and am so happy they have a brick and mortar store now. The ribs and wings are my favorites but all their meats and sides are out of this world. The vibe and location of this location is perfect and I love how quickly I can get my food when I'm hungry. Can't wait to come back!!

Saucy's Southern BBQ & Cuisine is the best BBQ in Colorado. I am from the south and we have had a hard time finding good BBQ since moving here. My family and I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Chris. He was extremely polite, welcoming, and reminded me of home. Everything on the menu is amazing and has a great atmosphere.

Lunchtime Pros: Super friendly staff and free fountain drinks due to ice machine being broken(which could double as a con). Cons: Hate to be negative but have to be real. We had the 1 meat and 2 sides(ribs and 2 fried okra sides) plus an extra side($4) of green beans. For the $16+ meal, the ribs weren't too meaty and just average, and the okra did not look or taste homemade(going by my southern grandma's). The beans were way toooo salty and came in one of those tiny clear containers with a lid which initially i thought was extra sauce or something then realized it was my side order. Crazy! The wait was super long to get the unimpressive food plus the bathroom had no paper towels. Really disappointed for the amount of money.

Everybody has a day of reckoning ahead of them. Today is Suacy's day. Low quality Ribs, nearly meatless, dry, sauce doing the "heavy-lifting" even saying that is too much praise. Macaroni & Cheese, I didn't need more than 1 bite, noodle was filled with water, cheese gobbed together, no thanks. Corn also for some reason had 0 flavor, if anything tasted like it sat in water for too long. Half of the order was also burnt to a crisp. If there was any saving grace, the Hotlink was pretty good. Sauces were good. Location had a nice interior. Food also looks great, but doesn't live up to expectations. Letting them get by with over 4stars is criminal. CO barbecue can be rough. For now, I'll stick with GQUE and Yazoo. These guys are slinging sauce on a bone. Not a single thing about it would I say resembles good BBQ.

Service was great dude was friendly explained all the sauces and gave us samples, every single one is fire! Since I was with my husband and kids we tried everything on the menu. My fav sides are the green beans and Mac n cheese. You can't go wrong with the meats, if you like bbq get it on your link with a splash of Carolina you'll thank me later.

The food is so fire! Good experience and the people who work there are kind and make sure your expectations are met. The 2 guys who were there greeted me nicely, the inside was nice and clean and it was quick! 100/10 every time!

Great food... I let staff picked my sauce and it's so scrumptious with a smoky flavor...yum. Service staff are friendly and helpful. The best in Colorado, I lived in Kansas City for years and go back and forth and it's so comparable. Comfortable ambience perfect place to hang out with friends and family with great bbq.

My girlfriend and I had never tried this place but sadly the food was very bad and we likely won't order it again. the macaroni was over cooked and bland, the potato salad was watery, and the ribs were mostly fat. The bbq link was fairly decent but still not that great. Oh, and the catfish was bland. They also forgot stuff in our order. I normally don't write bad reviews but this was one of the worst dinners I've had in a long time. I hope this was just a bad night for the restaurant.

I wouldn't go here unless you have plenty of time to wait for your food and bbq to you is just putting bbq sauce on your meats. I wasn't thrilled with this place, it wasn't horrible, but we place our order quickly and hen waited 30 mins for our food....which isn't what you expect when eating out and the place wasn't even that busy to justify that. But we learned that they make everything when it's ordered, on a grill. So nothing is smoked or cooked slowly. They hot links was a nice spicey brat, the ribs were pretty tough and just smothered in bbq sauce. The Mac n cheese had good flavor but the elbow macaroni was way over cooked and difficult to stab with a work because it was so soft. Green beans were fine and had good flavor...wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend. The staff was friendly though...
