10 Best Tours in Savannah

"Savannah Bike Tours meet on Habersham Street in the middle of the historic district, where you'll saddle up on a street cruiser. Dee, the tour guide, explains a few rules and safety points, and then it’s away you go to see the sights of downtown Savannah. This is a relaxed, easy tour that lends itself to all ages and abilities (you only cover about three miles over two hours), and because Savannah is a fairly flat city, there are no steep uphill climbs. The tour hits Savannah's most famous landmarks like Forsyth Park and mansions like the Hamilton Turner Inn." - Paul Oswell

Savannah Bike Tours

"What’s the big picture here?Savannah Bike Tours meet on Habersham Street in the middle of the historic district, where you'll saddle up on a street cruiser. Dee, the tour guide, explains a few rules and safety points, and then it’s away you go to see the sights of downtown Savannah. Be sure to reserve in advance, as the group size is capped at 14. Tell us about your fellow tourees. This is a relaxed, easy tour that lends itself to all ages and abilities, and the three miles over about two hours couldn't be called strenuous under any circumstance. Savannah is a fairly flat city, so there are no steep uphill climbs. If you have basic bike riding skills you're good to go. How are the guides?Dee is supremely knowledgeable about the city and has devised a coherent route around the downtown neighborhood. In addition to stories about the stops on the way, he acts as a concierge on wheels, giving dining and sightseeing advice as you roll along. Anything you’ll be remembering weeks, months or years from now?The tour hits Savannah's most famous landmarks; highlights include Forsyth Park, mansions like the Hamilton Turner Inn, and the river, not to mention the evocative, Spanish moss–framed squares the city is most famous for. So: What makes this tour a standout? This is a fun, physically accessible tour that covers more ground than a walking tour. You'll see all of the main downtown sights and get a charming, information-packed overview of the city’s history. Plus, in a city with such a rich food scene, even the gentlest workout feels good." - Paul Oswell

Google
Great bike tour! The tour guide is VERY knowledgeable on both the history and the safety of Savannah. Very kind, very helpful, fun times for all ages! 12/10! Lots of photo ops as well! You should definitely go here!

Google
This is the tour you should take the first morning of your visit to Savannah. Wake up early, walk to breakfast before the ride. Walk off breakfast on the way to the meeting place. Enjoy the ride. You will leran a lot if you pay attention. Steve, was our guide, he reviewed the key historical events throughout the tour and celebrated each correct answer. Great teaching practice in action. He also personalized the tour to many individuals in the group. This is not an easy as you may think. However, he was in sales for thirty plus years. His charisma for people and place did shine. There are three wheel bikes for those that are questioning their ability or balance. I would do this tour again.

Google
Easy to book, well priced, comfortable bikes! We did an early morning 9:30 e-bike tour with Niko and had a lovely time. Bonded with Niko over being from the Pacific Northwest, enjoyed their humor, and their knowledge about Savannah. Tour was flat and easy and the early morning beat the heat, watch out for bugs though! Highly recommend!

Google
Steve was a great tour guide! This was a great experience for my family we definitely enjoyed the history, food and a light rain shower (lol). We definitely enjoyed every minute of it and we couldn't have been happier. Definitely give it a go you will not be disappointed. Lastly, it was a nice cool day and that's always a plus when riding bike's. Thanks until next time the McClain Family

Google
We had a fantastic experience with Savannah Bike Tours! Ray in the main office was super friendly and welcoming, setting a great tone for the day right from the start. Our guide, Steven, was somehow even more friendly—he had a great energy and clearly knew an impressive amount about Savannah. He led the tour at a comfortable pace and managed to cover a ton of the city’s history without it ever feeling rushed. On top of that, he sprinkled in some excellent food recommendations between the historical stops, which we really appreciated. It was a perfect blend of learning and local insight. Highly recommend!

Google
This was our second time taking a tour with Savannah Bike Tours, and it was just as wonderful as the first! Steve is incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about Savannah’s rich history. Biking through the city is such a fun way to explore. The pace is perfect, the bikes are comfortable, and the route takes you through some of the most beautiful parts of the city with plenty of stops to take in the sights. Whether it's your first visit to Savannah or your tenth, this tour is a must do!

Google
Savannah Bike Tours is the best way to see the city! Steve was our tour guide and he killed it ! From the cold water bottle before you depart to all of his knowledge of the city, he had everything covered. We covered most if not all of the historic district of Savannah. If that’s not enough to convince you, he gave real time recommendations on food, coffee, additional sightseeing, and made sure we knew where to go after the tour ended.

Google
We stayed in Tybee for valentines weekend & decided to book a tour of downtown Savannah and we were not disappointed. Steve our tour guide was absolutely incredible. It’s been a while since I hopped on a bike so I was a little nervous at first. Steve checked in on me regularly throughout the beginning of our ride until he made sure I was comfortable. He took the most amazing pictures for us to cherish these memories forever. He was so well educated on the history of Savannah, all the fun facts, and even the native plants. We are so glad with our decision to book a tour and will make sure to tell our friends all the fun facts we learned. Thank you Steve for an unforgettable Valentine’s Day!!!!!

Yelp
We had the pleasure of having "Non-Fiction Steve" as our tour guide. He was accommodating and really fun! We were running a bit late, but Steven was gracious enough to wait for us and still provide a tour with the remaining 1.5hrs left on our reservation. Steve asked about our interests so he could play to those as he relayed facts and details about the various sites he showed us. We had a blast. I will definitely book another bike tour the next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Our tour guide, Michael, did such a great job with providing a balance of history and recommendations for this tourist! We love doing city tours, but a bike tour (in any city) is 100% the way to go! We could spend as much time as needed at any one site without feeling rushed. Savannah is such a great walkable and bikealbe place, and the tour gave us a better perspective on where to visit and how long it would take us to get back to each place from our hotel.

Terri T.

Yelp
This is a fun low key athletic tour, that's perfect for families, couples and most everybody. You don't have to be in great shape to do this tour! You can cover much more ground than walking, and it's so fun on a bike! Nonfiction Steve was full of information and he was animated and kept all of us engaged.

Lindsey C.

Yelp
Get Steve as your guide!! He was energetic, fun, personable, and full of historical facts. What a fun day riding through Savannah and learning all about the town. Such a great way to see the city. Loved it!

Lauren F.

Yelp
BEST way to see the city. So much history and information. Steve was AMAZING and went above and beyond to give a great tour
google avatar

Selena W.

Yelp
Get tour guide and awesome information. Bikes were in good condition. I read previous reviews that recommended doing the bike tour first while visiting and I totally agree, we knew exactly where we wanted to go after the bike tour.

Yelp
A MUST do I'm so glad my friend booked this for us. Try to do the tour earlier in your trip! It was fun to hear all the stories and all the history about Savannah and then to go check out some spots on our later days in our vacay or be like "hey that place was from the bike tour!" and remember details from the tour as we walked around later in our trip. It's also important to do this tour on your 1st or 2nd day of vacation, because our tour guide recommended so many shopping, activities, and food places that came in handy when needed later on! If we did the tour on a later day we probably would have felt we "missed out" on food or activities that were suggested and didn't have the time to try out. The bikes were comfy for 2 hours they had upgraded seats and a basket for purse/ water. The 2 hours flew by! We loved every second of the tour, you really ride through all of Savannah and nothing gets missed. Weather was nice and cool in the morning, plus there was no traffic so I'd suggest an earlier tour before people start getting out and about. It was really easy with minimal traffic not worrying about cars or walkers.

Yelp
We were visiting from Denver and Nonfiction Steve was our tour guide. Steve was great and made sure everyone was safe, entertained and included. Steve is very knowledgeable with Savannah and made sure to include everyone in his tour. I highly recommend this tour if you want to learn more about Savannah. Ask for Steve!

Kara M.

Yelp
Great tour with Sophie! She was really nice, super knowledge and it was safe. It was a pretty easy bike ride too so suitable for all ages!

Sherrie B.

Yelp
My husband and I went on the 9am bike tour with Steve. Steve is a FANTASTIC guide and so helpful--- knowledgeable of Savannah history, excellent restaurant & site recommendations. Enthusiastic and very mindful of biking safety. Bikes are well maintained. A must do tour.
google avatar

Lynn S.

Yelp
Best bike tour. Great guide. Great city , great time. Wanted to explore Savannah and learn a little history. I found a place on line for things to do in the area. Very cool experience. My first stop was the bike tour upon arriving. 2 hours long with several breaks in between . Our host offered water at the beginning and end of the trip. The bikes were clean, safe, and COOL.

Terri R.

Yelp
Loved JD - great stories and history, a beautiful day, and enjoyed our time. Disappointed since we brought our own e-bikes - paid more and saw less than we hoped for. Only rode a block or 2 at a time and stopped in awkward places making it difficult to take pictures. Would really help if there was a way to give info while riding. Walking would've been more enjoyable.
google avatar

Kaylee H.

Yelp
Loved our bike tour! It was the first thing we planned on our visit to Savannah. So great touring the city and getting a history lesson. Our guide was very passionate and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Meaghan K.

Yelp
Amazing experience. If you're going to Savannah, do this at the top of your trip. Steve was the best guide of all time, gave us the itinerary for the rest of our trip. Not only was he knowledgeable but he was passionate, friendly, personable and funny. His enthusiasm was amazing and was the highlight of our trip. Will not only recommend this to all of my friends but I'm already planning my trip back.

David K.

Yelp
Our family had an amazing time. We used to live in Savannah and learned a lot of new things! Great mix and variety of history, jokes and interesting things to see that can be overlooked. Bikes were very well maintained and comfortable. We had an 11 year old and 13 year old with us that were able to do the tour just fine. Lots of breaks to take in the sites. Skip the trolly tour and do this instead! After the tour our guide sent us to an amazing vegan restaurant fox and fig. I Highly recommend Savannah bike tours.
google avatar

Gina K.

Yelp
This tour was so fun! Highly recommend for the first day bc you get a lot of insight on what to do for the remainder of your time. Michael was engaging, knowledgeable and entertaining. We were able to bring water with, the ride was easy, not strenuous, flat surface and lots of stops. I felt safe even when riding in traffic. Highly, highly recommend! (I want to do another, again today!)
google avatar

Julie W.

Yelp
This was so much fun! Our guide was fantastic and had a lot of great information. We went on a hot day, boy Savannah gets gross hot. We kept going because there was so much to see.

Robyn H.

Yelp
Excellent bike tour! We learned so much about Savannah. Will, the shop owner, was an excellent guide. Super enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The two hours flew by!

Cindy C.

Yelp
Went with my 4 girlfriends while visiting Savannah with our tour guide, Will, and had an excellent time. Will was informative, entertaining and took us on a beautiful tour around the city. We loved hearing about this great city, from someone who truly loves and knows his city!
google avatar

Lindsey D.

Yelp
We toured Savannah with Dee and had a fabulous time. This was a great way to see the small city of Savannah! He was very knowledgeable and let us stop as much as we wanted throughout the tour to take photos, etc. He gave us great recommendations for museums and restaurants as well! I would highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Savannah!
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Will was a great tour guide - he was super informative and very funny. He made the experience really enjoyable

Tony C.

Yelp
Steve was our guide and contacted us about starting the tour early to hopefully avoid the rain. We met him about 30 minutes early and we got started. He was very personable and knowledgeable. We did get caught in the rain but were able to find shelter. In spite of the weather, we had a great tour. Would highly recommend.
google avatar

Kel R.

Yelp
Highlight of our trip to Savannah was the bike tour with Dee! We explored so much of the city, and stopped at some special places for additional highlights and historical facts. Dee was very kind and knowledgeable, and we can't wait to come back.

Dallas S.

Yelp
Such a great bike tour!! We were scheduled to go during a potential rain drizzle and cold weather, but our guide, Andrew, let us know before hand he would still take us if we wanted to try with the weather. We did the tour and although there was a small drizzle, it was great! Learned so much about savannah and we loved seeing it from a local's perspective. Thank you so much for a great trip!
google avatar

Gereg B.

Yelp
Overall good experience. Learned some interesting facts about the city, and the tour guide was very nice. I would recommend going early before it gets too hot!
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
Great way to see the city. The guide was informative and entertaining and the tour was a lot of fun. The tour is about 2 hours long, a bottle of water and a helmet are provided if needed.
google avatar

Sam B.

Yelp
My wife and I had a blast on the bike tour led by Dee. We visited Savannah for our anniversary and the bike tour was probably our favorite thing we did. I would recommend doing the bike tour at the beginning of your trip to Savannah so that you can get a good survey of the historic downtown.
google avatar

Zoe Z.

Yelp
Dee was an excellent tour guide! He taught us a lot of interesting history about Savannah, and also gave us some great recommendations for places to eat and drink, and enjoy the night life. He tailored to tour and recommendations to our interests and how long we'd be in town. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Alan T.

Yelp
I toured with Dee and it was a blast! He is very knowledgeable and a very nice guy. I learned so much about the city of Savannah for my first visit here through him and even got a little exercise in to boot! We went all over the historic district and he took us to all the best sites and made excellent recommendations as to where to explore next. Also, there were plenty of opportunities to go to the restroom along the way which helped a lot! Overall, the best way to tour Savannah is on a bike with Savannah Bike Tours! Thanks for the great time!
google avatar

Beverly H.

Yelp
Dee is the perfect tour guide! You can tell he loves his city. His story telling is excellent, laced with history and fun facts. We felt very safe riding with him. The biking is very easy with a lot of stops. I would have liked more exercise personally, but that's my preference. The bikes make it easy to get from one point of interest to the next and you will get off the bikes to go into the squares. Dee keeps the tour moving along so you get to see a lot in 2 hours! Start your vacation this way for an overview or use it if your stay is short to see it all! I highly recommend this tour! The bike seats are comfy and the bikes/helmets are in excellent condition. Everything is really clean.

Tricia M.

Yelp
We had a great time on this tour. Dee did an amazing job of showing us all the parts of Savannah that we missed on our last trip. This is a great way to see the city of Savannah and learning about the history of this beautiful city. Please do yourself a favor and book a tour if you are coming to Savannah.

Patricia F.

Yelp
Dee was AMAZING!! most humble and sweetest guy. The most amazing bike tour. Us Illinoisans has an amazing time with him in Savannah!
google avatar

Renee D.

Yelp
We did this bike tour on our last visit to Savannah. It was awesome. Dee was great. We were able tour and see much more than if we would have done a walking tour. Dee also had plenty of recommendations for us to do while visiting Savannah. So we highly recommend this company and tour while you are in Savannah! I definitely know we will again next visit.
google avatar

Haley N.

Yelp
This was an awesome way to see the city! My boyfriend and I were both first timers to Savannah, so we thought a nice bike tour would be a perfect way to see everything. Bikes were easy to ride. Dee, the guide, was super friendly and knowledgeable. He also gave us some awesome recommendations on places to eat and drink. It was two hours long, so I'd recommend the morning tour if it's warm weather. Overall, extremely glad we were able to experience this!
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
We had such a fun morning biking around Savannah! Dee our tour guide / owner was Great! It was one of the highlights of our visit.
google avatar

Debbie S.

Yelp
Dee led a wonderful informative bike tour. We pedaled at a leisurely pace and stopped numerous times so that Dee could tell us about the history and culture of Savannah. We learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. This was our first visit to Savannah and the tour provided a great introduction to the culture and traditions of Savannah. Dee's bicycle equipment was perfect for the ride. The terrain was flat and the ride suitable for all ages and levels of rider. After the tour we returned on our own to visit several of the sights Dee mentioned including the store that sells Girl Scout cookies year-round and the cathedral. I especially enjoyed Dee's description of the history of the river area. We had five people in our group and we enjoyed meeting the other people in the group. My husband and I frequently take bike tours when we travel and this tour was one of our favorites.
google avatar

Meghan B.

Yelp
Very nice tour guide and learned a few new facts about Savannah! Definitely more historical but not really anything "ghostly" mentioned. I kind of hoped he would have information on that stuff! But all around good experience.
google avatar

Vim I.

Yelp
Bikes are the best way to see this city and Dee is a great host and tour guide. We were able to see all of the squares, take pit stops and see many of the sights and scenes of the city, while learning about the history of Savannah. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get up and move around while exploring this great city.
google avatar

Elexa B.

Yelp
We had such a nice time on this tour in Savannah. I was just reminiscing about it and had to find this site and make sure I put in a good vote for Dee! Dee is the tour guide and he provided us with very easy to use bikes- I haven't really been on one since elementary school. Our group was small and we were able to ask questions whenever we wanted and could always hear all the information about where we were. Matt and I had been to Savannah once already and took a private tour walking but we were not bored a second on this tour because there is just so much to learn about this city. I also really liked talking to Dee about where to go out at night too. On sunny days it was nice to have the breeze in your face while riding from site to site instead of shuffling your feet under the hotness. We had baskets we could put our cameras and everything in. And we took a break for snacks and drinks and Matt and I even took our beers with us in the baskets for the second part of the tour. So lovely and I would recommend this tour to anyone.
google avatar

Cathleen P.

Yelp
We love bicycle tours, and Savannah is a great place for a bike ride. This tour was a highlight of our trip. Dee is a wonderful tour guide. We were lucky to have a small group, which made for a very enjoyable ride. We toured a large area of the historic district. Two hours flew by. Definitely worth it.
google avatar

Farrah V.

Yelp
Honestly I had to check and make sure I was reviewing the right company because I thought surely these people didn't give this company 5 stars?! It's pretty bad when you are looking at every one else not on the tour and jealous of how much fun they must be having, lol. And we LOVE bike tours. There is so much potential for this to be great, but the guide (Dee) really needs to be replaced. I feel bad saying this because he seems like a really nice person, but I feel it is my duty to let my fellow yelpers know not to waste their money. He lacks self confidence, is soft spoken, monotone for the most part, and every sentence ends high pitched where you are like "is he asking me a question?". It was just very awkward and quiet. The other people in my group were also asking each other what time it was and how much longer until it was over. Another lady said "wow, this is not good." Savannah is absolutely amazing, but unless you want to have to re-pump yourself back up after the tour (leaves you pretty deflated), I would definitely recommend using a different tour company.
google avatar

Monica R.

Yelp
Amazing tour! I was recently in Savannah on vacation and Savannah Bike Tours was recommended by a friend on the west coast. Not only did we get a great tour, Dee, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about the city. He answered all of our questions, showed us some hidden jewels and recommended a great lunch spot. If you want a fun ride around the city and a great guide, book a tour! Thank you Savannah Bike Tours for adding to my wonderful experience in the South.
google avatar

Andy Z.

Yelp
Nice tour of the city. Really liked the tour guide and his way of presenting the history of the city. When he started I didn't know what to expect. When finished I was very happy with the way it was all conducted. Thanks!

Colette C.

Yelp
The ride was beautiful and fun. However, the tour guide's presentation lacked interesting facts and enthusiasm. Patron safety was also lacking. Wished we had simply rented bikes and ridden around.
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
Dee was a great guide and we really enjoyed the tour. We did the 12:30pm and it lasted a little over 2 hours. They provided water bottles and Dee went out of his way to make us comfortable and happy. Would definitely recommend and would go back!
google avatar

Anna R.

Yelp
Really fun and informative tour of Savannah's beauty and history! Would recommend to anyone looking for a cool way to see the city.

Jorge G.

Yelp
Awesome experience. Dee, the tour guide, is extremely knowledgeable, funny and accommodating. Best way to tour Savannah! Highly recommend it for families!!!
google avatar

Kinsey S.

Yelp
Loved this tour! Dee was great and he taught us so much. Definitely a must, especially if you are not familiar with Savannah and its history!
google avatar

Travel Q.

Yelp
The group that I participated with all agreed that the historical information received seemed to omit a lot of the facts that occurred during the antibellum period and thereafter. Not sure why why the actual truth of our country's history could not come out. Although Dee was a very nice person, his "history lesson" should have been more in depth regarding what really took place in Savannah during the times stated. I was actually hurt and offended that he didn't feel confident and comfortable enough to simply reveal the cold hard facts and truths of what took place. Definitely wouldn't take the tour again or even recommend it. Besides, you see one square, you've seen them all.

Christine M.

Yelp
Just finished a wonderful bike tour of Savannah! It was one of the highlights of our trip, to see the all the beautiful sites and Savannah landmarks by bike. Dee was an excellent tour guide, and went above and beyond, sharing lots of unique local history and catering toward what we were most interested in. He's also just a genuinely super nice and kind guy to be around for two hours. Highly recommend!
