Aaron was an outstanding guide at the Savannah Canoe and Kayak Company! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife, sharing interesting facts throughout the trip. What really stood out was how friendly and encouraging he was—he made everyone in our group feel comfortable, regardless of their experience level. You could tell he genuinely enjoyed what he does. Highly recommend booking with Aaron if you're planning a paddle!

Google
We had an amazing trip on the full-day paddle to Wassaw Island. It was truly one of the most beautiful beaches that I’ve ever visited, and, overall one of the best coastal experiences of my life. The paddle out was truly extraordinary, with incredible wildlife viewing opportunities. We paddled with pods of dolphins and saw a variety of bird species. The paddle out for us, however, was a bit challenging due to the tides and winds, yet very doable. Our guide Aaron was very helpful, attentive and knowledgeable, covering everything from local history to natural history of relevant species. What really meant the most to us about our guide is the fact that he kept us safe through an intense thunderstorm. On our return to the landing, we got caught in a storm, which was quite scary. Aaron safely navigated us through the storm cells, providing us with an experience that we will never forget. It was an adventure of a lifetime! Highly recommend.

Google
I am so glad we were able to take this trip down Ebenezer Creek on our last day in Savannah. We had a fantastic time and were in awe of the gorgeous Cypress trees. We had Mel as our guide. She was full of information about the area, trees, wildlife, and history of the creek in general. 10/10 would recommend Savannah Canoe & Kayak.

Google
WOW! Friends and I had an incredible experience on the Ebenezer Creek honey tour. Who knew the water was so acidic that there was no mosquito larvae. Me. I didn’t. The water so calm with the perfect breeze for our trip. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the Tupelo and cypress trees, pointing out grandma trees and other plants and wildlife. Tasting all of the honey was an added bonus.

Google
We had such a great time on the Little Tybee tour with Aaron! He was very welcoming and was knowledgeable about the area and wildlife and made it so enjoyable. We were able to explore sandbars and see various parts of the island. Would definitely recommend!

Google
The Ebenezer creek tour with Allison was wonderful, enjoyed it very much! She helped us with everything and had a massive knowledge about the creek, the wildlife and the area. It was a peaceful morning, saw birds, even a flying owl, and the eyes of a baby crocodile. :) Thanks again and hope to return next year!

Google
I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’ve never been kayaking before, but I’m up for trying new things. This was an awesome trip! Our tour guide was Aaron, and he did a wonderful job explaining the history of the area, wildlife, and the different things we saw along the way. Our group (pod) included 6 people plus our guide, and the trip lasted about 3 hours in all. We kayaked over to the sand dunes and explored for a bit before heading back. Notes: Parking is limited. Wear sunscreen. Bring a water bottle. Expect your shoes to get wet, as you’ll likely walk through some watery sand areas. Would definitely recommend this place and will return if ever I’m in Savannah again. So fun!

Google
We loved our paddle board tour of Ebenezer Creek/swamp with Mel. The scenery was stunning and a must if it is your first visit to Savannah. Mel was super engaging and gave great information about the environment and different species there. She was also extremely good at finding the animals, identifying an alligator, two turtles, and a snake. We had the best time and got some great photos!

Yelp
Toured the Skidaway Narrows from Butter Bean Beach (the only free beach near Savannah) as part of a group of 4. Our guide, Josh, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Yelp
We went on the Ebenezer Creek kayaking tour. Our guide was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We were able to get a tandem kayak, so I did not have to worry about my mother getting tired. This was an easy going, good for beginners, trip. I really enjoyed going through the creek area with all of the beautiful trees. So much nicer than I would definitely recommend this tour to friends and family.

Yelp
We recently ordered a Yakima Exo setup for our RV through Savannah Canoe & Kayak and couldn't be more pleased with the sales and service. Nigel was kind enough to install the system for us, which was great, since the components are heavy and assembly isn't intuitively obvious.

Karen D.

Yelp
I highly recommend this tour company . Have used them multiple times. The guides were knowledgeable about history and ecology of the Ebineezer Creek. This is one unique creek with massive cypress and Tupelo trees. Crazy cool . One of a kind in the US. This company offers other locations such as Little Tybee Island, and well that is another awesome place.

Yelp
This is a fun and unique activity to add to your Savannah itinerary. We booked the Little Tybee paddle the day before (you have to book over the phone) and the person we talked to was very informative and told us everything we needed to know prior to paddling. Our paddle was at noon on a Thursday -- we lucked out with an absolutely gorgeous fall day. We had zero issues parking and our group was small -- it was just four of us with our guide Cassandra who is very knowledgable and pleasant! She did a great job going over kayaking best practices, telling us about the history of the area, identifying birds, and locating starfish. We saw a bald eagle which was a first for me! And the time exploring on Little Tybee was very cool. If I had an additional day I would've loved to do another tour!

Yelp
Just wrapped up a 3hr guided float through Ebenezer Creek. This was highly recommended by their office staff when contacted. Didn't disappoint. Amazing sight seeing and time on the water. Guides were very friendly and affluent with history of the area. They took the time to help my kids with concerns (1st timers in kayaks). Will definitely recommend and return one day.

Yelp
Had an excellent time today on our tour out to Little Tybee. Booked a private tour as we had two children (one only 3 years old) Maimee was our guide and she was great! Very personable, knowledgeable about the wildlife and location We also got to see bottlenose dolphins up close with their young calf. Definitely would recommend booking with the company .

Yelp
We went on a 3 hr kayak tour to Little Tybee Island and it was great! Aaron and Rafael were excellent-- good teachers to us beginners-- patient, and kept us safe in the tide and surf. Aaron is a knowledgeable guide- teaching about the birds, marsh grasses and pointing out eagles and a big nest. We had a strong upper body workout too! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Aaron was awesome. Highly recommend. His knowledge of the environment was extremely robust and it really made the adventure great.

Yelp
If you have even 1 adventurous bone in your body this is a MUST DO activity when you are in Savannah or visiting Tybee island. We went on the kayak trip in the am from 10am - 1 pm with Josh on a Tuesday. We ended up being the only ones and if left like more of a private tour. He gave us instructions on kayaking first and we felt very safe with him. We started in alley 3, and went out during he low tide, saw some beautiful dolphins right in front of us (truly amazing experience). We stopped at this sand bar that arises during low tide and walked for a good 40 + minutes and learned a lot about the wildlife around the area. What a relaxing/therapeutic way to start the morning. It also teaches you how to communicate with your partner when you are on the tandem and reminds you of the BEAUTY of LIFE. I believe this was the highlight of our trip and we highly highly recommend booking with the company. If we are in the area we will 100% be doing this again.

Yelp
We did the Little Tybee Low Tide trip. We saw dolphins very close up and the island itself was so beautiful and isolated. We went on a weds during the summer. Our guide Anais was great! Very accommodating and knowledgeable, she obviously loves the area and is enthusiastic about sharing her respect and enjoyment. The dolphins were really amazing, the trip was so special and peaceful!

Yelp
We did a 3 hour SUP tour of the Skidaway Narrows. Our tour guide, Cassandra, was awesome! She started us off with a stretch, a SUP lesson, and then we were off. Cassandra obviously loves the area and takes great care to teach about and care for the land (and sea and everything in between). We learned so much about the history and ecosystem of Savannah. Cassandra showed us the beauty and importance of the marshes. She took pictures, gave us breaks as needed (by my rather inactive teen), and made recommendations for activities and dining afterwards. Well worth the cost, would definitely do again!

Madison W.

Yelp
Highly recommend this company. We went on the 3 hour little Tybee trip. Saw lots of birds (including a clapper rail!) dolphins, and even came across a beached loggerhead turtle. Our guide clearly knew what he was talking about and reached out to people that could come escort her back to the safety of the ocean after getting stranded during low tide. Both of our guides frequently checked in to make sure we were comfortable in our kayaks. Definitely a great way to explore the area!

Yelp
While planning our Low Country trip, we wanted to do something unique, exciting and fun... Since we drive over bridges that run through swamps and marshes and have never explored a swap, kayaking an historic swampy creek really appealed to us. Using social media reviews (like the one you're reading here) we saw all the positive things people had to say about Savannah Canoe and Kayak, so I called and booked them. Emme and Liz were our guides and they were VERY helpful and knowledgeable about kayaking, the creatures we'd see/saw in the swamp, the trees, the area, etc.  We felt safe kayaking the creek with them and they sincerely cared about providing excellent service. The ride did last pretty much the entire 3 hours we signed up for, so plan on using the restroom before getting in the kayak (at Ebenezer creek, there's actually toilets there) and be sure to bring water, bug spray, sunscreen and wear a hat.  Also, you should wear shoes that you don't mind getting wet.  We didn't get our feet wet at all, but it's rare that happens. We did see plenty of huge turtles, interesting birds and an alligator.  We learned about the trees and saw plenty of very interesting trees, including one we could kayak through the center of. I highly recommend this tour!!

Yelp
Cassandra was our tour guide and she was incredible. The tour is absolutely gorgeous/magical. A dream come true. We even saw wildlife along the way. Thank you Cassandra!

Yelp
I spoke to Kristen on the phone. She was very nice and called me right back since she missed my call. Sam was our guide. I enjoyed the trip. Sam was super nice and very knowledgeable. She was also very aware of our safety at all times.

Yelp
Aaron was an amazing guide - highly recommend!! Company seems organized and safety conscious as well.

Yelp
Our first experience stand up paddle boarding couldn't have been better! Mel was an incredible guide. Having a marine biologist as your tour guide won't disappoint! We learned so much about the area and the wildlife there. We saw incredible wildlife. It was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend using Savannah Canoe & Kayak! Ask for Mel!

Christine G.

Yelp
Mamie gave a wonderful tour of Little Tybee Island. She was friendly, very knowledgeable and a good instructor. The kayaks were in great repair and very clean. Excellent morning!

Yelp
What a great paddle to Little Tybee Island on Thursday March 25th 2021. Our guide, Matt, was obviously an experienced guide and especially good at making all the guests feel at ease. Our paddle started with the end of low tide. We had an easy paddle out to Little Tybee and the bone yard. On the way, we saw a couple dolphins waiting for the tide to change. They seemed to be "napping" based on their gentle surfacings. As we approached Lil Tybee we saw both parental Bald Eagles return to their nest followed by the launching of two of their fledglings. Quite amazing. After arriving at Little Tybee and observing the Bald Eagle nest via binoculars, we continued to the boneyard where we meandered about tide pools and a wonderful beach of driftwood. On the way home, an unexpected fog bank rolled in on our return paddle but with Matt as our guide we were able to ride the incoming flood tide back to our launch beach with minimal paddling effort. All in all a tremendous, peaceful, vacation-ending-worthy paddle. Everyone should be so lucky on their vacation to Savannah/Tybee. Cheers, Chris gentle slack tide on the paddle out.

Yelp
If there is even a question, go ahead and reserve with them. From the time I called to make the reservation to the actual tour. Everyone was so kind and friendly. Our guides were Cass and Chelsea. They were very knowledgeable and met us where we were at with our previous knowledge. We did the bee tour and I would do it over and over again. Highly recommend these folks and this tour. Thanks for a great experience!

Harry C.

Yelp
Josh was our guide on our Ebaneezer creek tour. He did a great job, starting with some basic tips and a short kayaking lesson. We started off slowly drifting down the beautiful tributary, learning facts and history about the area and wildlife along the way. Eventually, we were traversing through the groves of magnificent Tupelo trees. What fun that was. We had a pretty diverse group, ranging from a college freshman to an old man (me). I think I did slow us down a bit, but no one complained. We saw a Turtle and a gator and the college Kid screamed like baby when a frog jumped on him. A zillion little caterpillars tried to overtake us but we managed to fight them off. Josh was amazingly knowledgable, patient, and kind. I highly recommend this tour.

Yelp
First rate - very accommodating. Last minute booking for a private fishing guide. Kevin was not only knowledgable of the waterway....he was a great fisherman, super professional and overall a great guy. Look forward to returning in the future!

Yelp
We had a lovely morning paddle to Little Tybee with Emma and Aaron. We saw dolphins, egrets, and a turtle head or two. Emma and Aaron were great guides, knowledgeable and helpful. Superior service. Fun adventure. We will be back!

Yelp
Excellent tour for anyone wanting to experience Savannah's barrier islands and its amazing tidal environment. We went as a couple, with a tandem kayak, on a three-hour tour that was casual, relaxing, educational and beautiful. As beginner kayakers we felt safe and at ease. Our tour guides were excellent and gave us insights into the tidal waters eco-system and how barrier islands provide protection of the coast. We started at Tybee Island, with a low tide, and headed toward Little Tybee, which is anything but little. On the way we were fortunate to see a pair of dolphins, a mother and child. We also saw oyster beds and learned how important they are, numerous bird species, including a eddish egret doing a funny dance, and an eagle's nest. Our first stop was a sandbar that is exposed at low tide, where we explored and swam in the fresh salty waters. After about 30 minutes, we headed to Little Tybee and its tree boneyard, which provided a dramatic contrast to the open waters and blue sky. We spent about 30 minutes on the island, exploring like kids on a secret island. Our return trip included another dolphin sighting, and a casual ride. All the while our guides provided insights and information on the waters, grass environment, tides and history of the area. Thankfully Little Tybee has not been developed, it is a treasure of nature just as it is. If you want to get away from it all for a few hours, be informed and inspired, we can't think of a better way. We truly enjoyed every minute of this tour, and our slightly sore arms are more than worth it.

Yelp
Great shop! I went to their store once (when it ended up flooding during a thunderstorm). So we ended up staying for a while because people with me didn't want to run back to the car in the rain. It was a nice place to be stuck for someone like me who is into kayaking. Lots of cool books/boats/etc to check out. If you want a surf or sea kayak this is the place. They are the only dealer I have been able to find for Mega surf kayaks in the US. When you are getting into a niche sport like surf kayaking you need to talk to someone who knows the gear- and these guys do . Super nice people and a great selection of equipment. Even if you just need a pair of sandals or a life jacket I would check it out.

Yelp
My bff and I had a super-fun time thanks in large part to our excellent guide, Steve. He was not one of those loud-mouthed theme park kind of guides that ruin the nature by being goofy and telling wildlife anecdotes. And he wasn't one of those students-with-a-summer-job types reciting stuff everybody knows like, "The marsh is an important part of our ecosystem." Nope, our guide tried to teach my bff and I the math of calculating travel time with the tides. He also indulged my competitive streak by refereeing a quick race in our small group -- and gave me some pointers since I totally lost. When I got a blister from rowing, he had some fingerless gloves I could use! He even laughed when I said to my friend "I wish we had blades on our oars so we could play Mortal Kayak and cut each other's heads off!" And he kindly listened as my friend blabbed on, practically telling her life story. It was also my first time using a foot controlled rudder, and I really liked it.

Yelp
I was expecting more. All we did was kayak for 3 hours in open water. Rather boring. Guide was great.

Yelp
We scheduled the tour of Ebenezer Creek and it was a phenomenal experience! Our tour guide, Cassandra, was delightful, helpful and knowledgeable. We had some last minute changes to our group and the tour company accommodated very graciously. The creek was beautiful and definitely worth the short trip from Savannah. The kayaking was very relaxing; the activity was not strenuous at all. My mother and aunt (both grandmas) were able to keep up and had a great time. Highly recommend this company and the Ebenezer Creek tour.

Yelp
These guys are great. We did the Little Tybee tour on a Saturday. Nick and Cassandra were super helpful guides. They provided all the equipment at the designated meeting spot, gave us a quick class on how to kayak, and we were off and in the water. We went together out to Little Tybee, explored the island for a bit, and kayaked back. It was a three hour trip for $65 per person. Includes all the gear. We even saw dolphins. Highly recommend for beginners to experts.

Yelp
We booked guides for two days of personalized kayak instruction and touring and developed a rich relationship with these folks that I'm sure will last many years! We weren't just customers to them; we were treated like good friends and the overall experience was superb. As others have said, Nigel and Kristen are very special people, and our guides Matt and Mayme got us really excited about this sport and the Georgia golden isles. We are new to kayaking, and Matt and Mayme provided just the perfect mix of instruction and touring to make this a productive and memorable weekend. Everyone we met at SC&K was friendly and professional and we are eager to return soon! The shop has a number of new and pre-owned kayaks and canoes as well as a large assortment of clothing and accessories. Very, very highly recommended!

Yelp
The sunset tour was awesome... We got to see some Dolphins and the tour guide (Captain Jimmy) has a lot of knowledge please make sure you ask him plenty of questions.

Yelp
Excellent SUP with Emma as my guide on the Skidaway Narrows tour. I had booked in advance and showed up a few minutes early. Emma was waiting with the boards and ready to go. She had a dry bag and kept my keys and phone so I wouldn't have to worry about getting them wet. I was the only person paddling that day and am an experienced paddler, but she treated me just like any other tour, pointing out wildlife and telling me about the environment, plants, birds, etc. We took a few breaks for water along the way. We saw egrets, herons, dolphins, blue crab, and a bald eagle. I enjoyed paddling through the marsh grasses. Not something that I get to do at home.

Yelp
Easily the best experience I've had with kayaks and canoes. Stellar professionalism, excellent knowledge, friendly service. Ask for Amanda--she is great and really makes the trip worthwhile. 10 out of 10, would recommend (just don't ask for guacamole advice)

Richard B.

Yelp
Just finished an excellent paddle around Little Tybee Island. Kayaks were too-notch. Our guide Matt was outstanding: knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. Couldn't have asked for anyone better. My highest recommendation!

Yelp
Every once in awhile if we are lucky we meet people that make the world a better place. Meet Nigel and Kristen Law, they are 2 of those people. I met them several years ago when my wife and I moved to Wilmington Island and wanted to enjoy the marshes and rivers around Savannah. Nigel and Kristen were our answer and since meeting them we have bought numerous kayaks from them and enjoyed the lifestyle immensely. Their store is packed with product , boats, vests any and everything needed. They will set up demos of several boats to make buying easier and then take you on guided tours through the low country. They have an amazing staff with varied skills that cover , kayak fishing, kayak surfing and fitness paddle. You will not go wrong trusting these very profession and kind folks
google avatar

Mary K.

Yelp
A wonderful half day tour with Steve. I can't enough good things about this experience! First class equipment, knowledgable and very accommodating staff- both on the phone and in person. We took the Ebenezer Creek visit and enjoyed it immensely. We had one very experienced traveler and two learners and we all had an amazing day. Got the bug - will be on another soon.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time during the three-hour, Little Tybee trip a few weeks ago. Our guide was awesome and while I struggled with the foot rudder most of the time (my own lack of coordination), it felt awesome to be on the water, and see the ecological changes around us. The best part of the tour? Exploring Little Tybee barefoot, and feeling the wonderfully warm water on my feet. Great company. $55 a person for three-hours that you'll never forget? Heck yes!
google avatar

Elliot S.

Yelp
My wife and I had a terrific four days kayaking with SVcK and walked away with lots of new skills as well as an appreciation for the coastal landscape. We enjoyed skill instruction and touring during our four days in Savannah. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We would absolutely recommend them for people looking to get a deeper understanding of sea kayaking.

Jamie K.

Yelp
Do not go anywhere else! I Went Kayak fishing with my three boys on Father's Day and we had a blast. All was included ( Kayak, poles, bait, etc.) Excellent guides, Thanks Kevin and David for a wonderful time.
google avatar

Candice S.

Yelp
One of the best experiences I've had in a while. I decided to do this on a whim, having never kayaked before. Our instructor was the most patient, helpful, knowledgeable, kindest person I've ever met. I felt so comfortable and safe. We kayaked to the nearby Little Tybee and had a blast. It was absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to go back!

Nathaniel S.

Yelp
What a great adventure! Make sure to request Amanda, she was knowledgeable and fun- we learned so much. All in all a GREAT day!!!

Yelp
Our kayak adventure with Savannah Canoe and Kayak was the highlight of our trip to Savannah. Nigel, our guide, was excellent. Not only was he a master of the waters, he knew so much about the history of the islands we were paddling around. It was a wonderful way to experience an amazing city!

Yelp
Just took their beginners course and it was amazing. Zack and Nigel where very knowledgable and really made it a fun experience. I will definitely sign up for the intermediate course. I see many tours in my future.

John E.

Yelp
Had a great sea kayak 3-hour tour with Matt to Little Tybee Island. Matt was super knowledgable, a great tour guide and was friendly. Thought this tour was a great experience and well worth the money. I would recommend this tour to anyone. I would suggest that folks get to the push off site plenty early as parking can be difficult to find and is limited!

Yelp
On a whim while a friend was in town I called early in the morning to see if they had any available spots on their afternoon Little Tybee tour. Since their truck with the kayaks had already departed she had to call to see if there was enough gear for us but her call back was very timely within 5 minutes. Sure enough they could squeeze us in and I was able to pay by phone and given all directions and all potential questions were answered. The tour itself was unforgettable! This was our first time on Tybee and we loved the little beach town feel. Parking was simple and our guide, I believe her name was MiMi, handled everything! She had 7 of us total and told us about the area, where we would be going, and showed us all the basics we would need to kayak even if you were a first timer. We went at a slow enough pace for everyone to keep up and the view and little Tybee was absolutely breathtaking. We got 40mins to explore on little Tybee and on the way back we saw dolphins, parasurfers, and some fun locals! I can't wait to book another tour through Savannah Canoe & Kayak, they went above and beyond for us and we made some unforgettable memories!

Yelp
Wow, wow, WOOOOOW!! Savannah Canoe and Kayak is SUCH a gift to the Tybee/Savannah community. I recently chaperoned a school trip from Washington DC with SC&K, and they were absolutely OUTSTANDING. The whole trip was so well-planned, the food was great, the paddling and camping was wonderful, the guides were top of the line, and the students had a wonderful time. I am so grateful for this wonderful outfitter, and if you are EVER in the area a trip with them is beyond worth it. Thank you to Nigel, Mike, Steve, Mamee, and Kristen for making this an unforgettable experience for myself, Suzanne, Geoff and the 8th grade students of the Washington Waldorf School. Eternally grateful :)
