14 Places to Go Glamping in Texas

"A hot commodity in North Texas, Savannah’s Meadow offers two tree houses: The Bare Creek Hollow Treehouse and Majestic Oak Treehouse, both of which could’ve been plucked from a children’s fairytale book. Bare Creek Hollow is about three stories off the ground and has a living room, balcony, kitchen, and full bathroom, while Majestic Oak, also about three stories off the ground, has a hot tub and pool below, plus a kitchen, sky lounge, and a deck. A living tree runs through the middle of Majestic Oak, giving the space a real woodsy feel. Savannah’s Meadow is open from March 1 through November 1, and reservations go fast, so be sure to book far in advance." - Travel + Leisure Editors

I took a 5 & 7 year old girls for 3 days to this magical place. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, fishing (caught several fish including a BIG bass!), feeding the animals and taking several hikes. The treehouse accommodation were top notch from the comfortable bed, to the games provided to the soft bath robes all the way to the fresh bacon and eggs provided for breakfast. We even ate the duck eggs! The girls and I definitely want to go back!

My daughter and I had are so grateful for the relaxing and peaceful experience in the Bare Creek Hollow Treehouse. The treehouse itself was perfectly set up for comfort and convenience. So clean and smelled amazing!! The bed was more comfortable than even my bed at home. The surroundings were quite a great escape from the busy city. The cold baths and hot tub were icing on the cake!! Just the relief from rheumatoid arthritis I needed!! Thank you for your hospitality and making us feel welcome the entire time!!

If we could give it 10 stars we would! The hospitality was out of this world with eggs from the chickens, bacon, beverages and even gluten free snacks for someone who had an allergy in our group. No detail was spared! As others note, the property is absolutely magical. The trees, the animals, the treehouses themselves, the hot tubs, lake and more — it’s the perfect getaway. On top of that, everything was so clean and smelled beautiful when we walked in. They launder absolutely everything, and it’s clear they want to create the best experience for those who stay. Don’t hesitate to book this magical spot! Unplug and get back to nature for a couple days.

This was such an amazing escape from the city! The property is not overwhelmingly big and had so much to do! This is the definition of an unplug and recharge in nature weekend. Sitting in the hot tub watching stars, hand feeding animals, watching ducks by their beautiful pond, and pleasant bike rides, was surprised how cool it was under their tree covered paths! Although you are on their family farm, they absolutely respected your privacy as well and let you mozy around at your leisure. Will definitely be coming back!

Oh my goodness! We stayed for the second time at Savannah’s Meadows, this time I. The Majestic Oaks treehouse . I cannot say enough great things about our weekend. It was beyond fabulous. The treehouse was incredible . myself and my 3 girlfriends loved being right smack dab into nature. My 9 year old granddaughter loved the cargo net and the loft beds and as she said when I asked her what was your favorite part she replied “ EVERYTHING!” !!! We enjoyed the hot tub and round pool , Everyone loved visiting the farm animals, The owner was incredible and brought out baby ducks and kittens for us to love on , we canoed , we explored the fairy trail and the garden. We even were treated to fresh eggs and everything we needed for a wonderful breakfast for both days . The new owners have taken it up another notch with all of the incredible details and improvements. We HIGHLY recommend. In fact we are already talking about a future trip .

What a magical place! The Majestic Oak Treehouse makes the perfect, most relaxing weekend getaway. All the critters are lovely, a dip in the pool is very refreshing, and being able to disconnect from tv and WiFi to enjoy nature and games is wonderful. Can’t wait to come back!

One of the greatest nights of our lives! The treehouse was magical. It was clean, charming, well stocked and had thoughtful surprises for our anniversary. Bicycle rides and canoeing around the ducks gave us memories we will never forget.

Yelp
Our family had the best time at Savannah Meadows! Everything was so clean and the property was beautiful. The kids enjoyed riding the bikes all around and stopping to feed the goat! The tree house was so magical! We will never forget this staycation!

Yelp
My cousin just got married at this charming farm, and it was adorable and perfect for a smallish to medium sized wedding! There was a beautiful chapel back in the woods, a little bit away from the noise of the parking lot, then there was a stage for the DJ or band next to the dance floor and lots of tables in a little pavilion area and restrooms indoors. See pictures for how cute it was. My aunt said the venue was great to work with, even as they were figuring out some of the things for the first time, like installing their first permanent dance floor. We all had so much fun! I also got the scoop on the AirBnB from my aunt. Apparently, there's a lovely cabin where you can lower the walls and sleep under the stars in mosquito netting. I want to come back and stay here!

Yelp
Great experience! Savannah Meadows was gracious enough to allow our Cub Scout pack 367 to camp out in the general field area and enjoy the great outdoors. Well kept property and a very attentive owner. Trails through the woods and a great gathering area. This was a great camping experience for our scouts.

We fed chickens, the cute donkey, ducks. We used the kayak and was fun. We love the feel of the wind to our face while bike around the wood. Savannah's meadow have everything we needed. Yelp
We stayed in the Majestic Oak treehouse. Saw this on an episode of Tree house Master & knew we wanted to check it out. We made our reservation 9 months in advance. The place is booked every single night available on their calendar. We were there on a weekday to celebrate our anniversary. It did not dissapoint. Our tree house was actually built in 3 trees w the kitchen area, bathroom, and bedroom connected by walkways and supported by different trees. We sat outside on the deck between the rooms and enjoyed the sights and sounds of nature. The bedroom had open air walls that automatically rolled up and the bed was surrounded by bug netting to prevent unwanted guests. Bed was comfy and extra blankets/pillows were there. It was completely private & cozy. The hosts were very welcoming & friendly, and we were free to walk the grounds. There was a hot tub & small above ground pool. We were there in September, but I know there was an ac unit & a heater unit if needed, but we didn't use either. Felt clean in the kitchen area but the bathroom needed a bit of attention in the shower. But hey!! It's a Tree house not the Ritz. You can go into town of Greenville for a meal or check out a winery there. Totally a memorable experience.

Yelp
My wife came to me with a plan for a little getaway since they (my wife and two daughters) had been cooped up for a month and a half. I have to say I was a little skeptical when she said let's go stay in a tree house!!! I did some research as any man would do when taking their family to unfamiliar places. After looking into a night in a tree house, my wife called to schedule a night with Susan. Let me tell you something, as soon as we pulled into the farm we were greeted by Ron and Susan on a tractor!!! It was then I KNEW this would be an awesome stay! They showed us where we would be staying and told us of some things about the tree house as well as offering the family to come watch and participate in feeding the animals! My girls ages 2 and 4 loved seeing all the ducks, chickens and took a liking to Simon the donkey! We explored the farm for a few hours even got to feed the animals a few treats! It ended up raining that evening which could have been a bummer but think about this...... HOW MANY TIMES CAN YOU SAY YOU STAYED IN A TREE HOUSE WHILE IT STORMED OUTSIDE? I bet you can't!!!! The entire time it stormed Ron and Susan were in constant communication and answered any and all questions we had for them. Overall it was an AMAZING, SUPER FUN time which we plan on doing at least once a year with the kids! We even booked a night for some ADULT TIME in about a month! What are you waiting for go book one of their tree houses NOW you won't be disappointed!!!

Yelp
What a magical stay we had! This is a hidden sanctuary and we are so glad to have stubble upon it. We stayed in the very rustic yet cozy Gypsy's Grotto. The attention to detail, beautiful lavender fields, and scenic views offer a peaceful and tranquil space to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature. We loved our stay and will definitely be coming back!
