"One of the Eastside’s hottest new places for brunch is Sazon, a Huntington Park restaurant specializing in Mexican street food. Things here get turned up to a 10 on the weekends, which is when you’ll witness queer Latinx DJs spinning soul tracks, tropical dance hall day parties, and Selena sing-alongs. So grab your most colorful outfit and a comfortable pair of shoes, then get ready to dance while enjoying pozole verde, chilaquiles, and chorizo-stuffed breakfast burritos." - Brant Cox, Kat Hong, Brett Keating

Took my mom today to check out and support. We loved it! The Staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and they don't play around with their salsas- the salsa de árbol is fire! Check them out!!

Always take my family and friends visiting here to my favorite restaurant in HP ! Love their vegan and vegetarian friendly menu & I can still bring the meat eating homies. Pozole is bomb.com! Congratulations to some amazing femme entrepreneurs!! Need some chilaquiles next weekend 🤤

I recently went on a Sunday to Sazón HP for brunch. Food was ok and I honestly expected larger portions for the amount I paid. Also, the whole experience would’ve been a little better if they had AC. It was 105 that day and with no AC in the restaurant. I really wanted to stay and have a few more drinks but the air quality inside was so horrible we had to leave! I will like to give it another try since I did like the ambiance but I’ll probably go back when the weather cools off.

I went to this restaurant this weekend and the food was absolutely amazing. DJ Sizzle was spinning and the environment was great. The only thing that I hope they work on is their service. It took pretty long to get our food, and it was clear that there was some confusion amongst the servers. I debated leaving this, but I want this business to grow and succeed, so I hope it’s not taken in a wrong way. I’ll absolutely be coming back for the food, friendly staff, and to see the great things that Sazon is doing.

Beautifully located in Huntington Park. The pozole Verde is beyond delicious. Best pozole I've ever had. Only downside I experienced is the ordering process / seating . Kinda feels like you have to fight for a table when it's busy .

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! Great space with lots of natural light and vibrant colors everywhere! The food is so good, they have classic Mexican dishes along with modern takes. Their drinks are also pretty great--micheladas, cocktails, and mimosas!

Yelp
Sazon is a cute restaurant located on a busy street in Huntington Park. I had planned a brunch with a few others and called in the week prior to reserve a table ahead of time. I had to call twice after that to confirm my reservation because the owner wasn't there at the time to input my reservation into their system, and I hadn't received calls back. Fortunately, the day before they got the reservation in the system. The format of this restaurant is you go up to the register to order your food. I've always liked this format because it makes paying for your own food items easy for both the customer and the staff. Since I arrived much earlier than my guests, the staff were kind and checked in on me multiple times; they brought me drinks and chips while I waited. Tostada Plate: Yummy! I ordered it with Cochinita Pibil and Tinga de Res. It's a great deal because you get two tostadas alongside rice and beans. Tres Leches French Toast: One of the most delicious french toasts I've ever had. It was moist, but not soaked. It had a fresh sweetness and didn't feel heavy at all. I finished the whole thing! Mimosa (Mango and Strawberry): These were okay. The champagne isn't super dry, which is nice. The juices I got didn't really have a strong flavor, so it felt more like a la croix. Overall, the staff were all very kind and accommodating. The food was brought out quickly and the quality of the food itself was good. A big winner is that the menu is reasonably priced and you definitely get a good meal for what you pay for.

Yelp
When we got there, we were confused on the ordering food situation. We eventually figured we order our own drinks and food. It took the bartender about an hr to bring us our mimosa kit. Our food took awhile as well but I will say, our food was good. I did not like their cocktails. Our table got the paloma negra and piñata but it lacked flavor. Overall there needs to be improvement between the staff and the customers coming in. It would be helpful to be told that its a self service place versus leaving the customer to figure out the "ordering food " protocol. Food was good, cocktails were ehhhh and entertaining was great. I gave it a try but I personally won't come back here. Maybe ill do food to go.

Yelp
I had heard about this place as a fan of Latino and queer owned businesses - Pero - dejo mucho Que desear. We attended the bad bunny tribute brunch. The event was cute in theory, but in practice it failed. 1. It was HOT. There is no AC. We tried to stay longer, but after a couple of drinks, there was no way. It was so hot. 2. We bought 4 mimosa kits. They were good, but the cups that come with it are cheap and kept spilling on us. So we wasted a lot of drinks. 3. The food was good. I ordered taquitos de pollo and ended up getting served taquitos de papa. I was too hungry to send them back so I ate them. 4. DJ was lit. 10/10 We tried it. But we will not be going back. It is simply too hot and the wait times for the food is unreasonable. Maybe get more staff? Not sure.

Yesenia G.

Yelp
Food is super bomb and the drinks are delicious!!! Run by a Latina and her mom, this place has a great vibe. They also have special events from time to time, drag queen brunch & live music! Follow them on Instagram for the deets!

Yelp
We were in the area and decided to hit up this spot. Walked in and they were playing cumbias which is always a plus! They have a variety of food and drink options, including vegan options. We ordered the Cochinito Pibil plate and Vegan Pozole. My husband said the pork was well seasoned and full of flavor as well as the black beans and rice. In addition It came with a small red salsa that was and yummy. He was full and satisfied! I really appreciate a place that has good vegan options. The Vegan Pozole was green with hominy and cauliflower. It came with a side of tostadas, taquitos de papa, cabbage, radishes, onion and avocado. I added a twist of lime to mine. It was good and I enjoyed every bit of it. The place was clean, restrooms were clean, staff was nice and helpful. So glad we came across this place and also happy to support and Woman-owned business.

Orlando M.

Yelp
Went here shortly after opening and had pozole verde (green) combo. Flavor was nice and chicken was so tender it was perfect. Second visit, I had their chicharon tacos and tinga, both were great in flavor although chicharon would of been nice if spicier but that's just how I like it. Love the space and staff too. Feels good to walk into a place and be greeted. Once you have been given a table, browse the menu and walk over to place your order. Parking tip: back street is rugby ave, enter from Florence st and you'll find a small parking lot on your Right side where u can easily park or find street parking. Meter parking on Pacific bk is doable as well.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday afternoon to support this new Latinx owned restaurant on pacific blvd in HP. I spent many a Saturday on pacific with my mom shopping so I brought her with me to try out the restaurant. The decor and vibe of the place is really nice. I love how vibrant it is. What left me wanting more was the food. I thought it was a little over priced for what you get. Some of the food was also lacking a little bit a salt. I did love the beef tinga though! I thought it was well seasoned. we also ordered and appetizer and got it served last instead of first. There was also a DJ playing while we were there that was too loud. I could not hear the person across from me. We came here after the brunch was over so I think they didn't need to have the music playing so loudly at that time. I think this place has a lot of potential they just have to work out a few things. I'll definitely try to come back to check out it for a brunch with friends.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican cuisine made with love from a woman owned business yes please!! I am a little biased as I have been eating Dona Cocos food for many years now all over Los Angeles at her pop-ups before this wonderful brick and mortar manifested. The ambience is so welcoming so fresh so clean so pretty. Did we mention there is a bar hello who wants mimosas? grab your crew and head over to their brunch or for a more intimate setting pull up for breakfast on a Thursday and get some of their signature huevos rancheros or come a little later and try some of the best Pozole Verde in Sela ! There's a little something something for folks with dietary restrictions too so do not worry! The homemade Tortilla Chips and salsa/guacamole are a must have by the way There are events sometimes that you can check out on their Instagram if you're looking for a more upbeat situation . they have DJ sometimes and one of the co-owners of the restaurant is the infamous DJ Sizzle Fantastic! Hood DJ and promoter of the Cumbiaton party and live music series As a black and queer woman who has been living in South East Los Angeles for the past three years I am so extremely grateful and happy for the warm welcome that myself and my friends always receive when we come there . EVERYBODY is welcome & everyone needs to pull up on Sazon in HP and tell them MONET sent cha

Erina H.

Yelp
First time here... DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The food is great. The mole tater tots BOMB! Cochinita Pibil plate delicious! Sopes were good (beef and asada) and green enchilas. Couldn't leave the champagne out. Champagne with Jamaica. Salsas have great flavor. Habanero, guacamole and Chile de árbol (forgot to picture all the other food)

Alessandra G.

Yelp
I just moved back and found this little gem, I wanna keep it to myself but I am no gate keeper, this place is amazing. Really enjoyable music from the DJ and the food was good , can't forget the drinks-- mimosas kit is the way to go while dining with a friend.

Iliana P.

Yelp
OMG, what a beautiful restaurant, so full of life and color! I stopped by for brunch with a friend and I immediately knew I had to come back to try everything on the menu. We ordered the mole chilaquiles, which were super flavorful with the depth of flavor that only mole can offer. We also ordered the breakfast sopes, which had the perfect combination of breakfast flavors. I also loved the rice and beans that were served with the meals! It's a hit or miss with the basics, but the rice and beans are on point. I can't wait to return!

Yelp
A friend of mine posted on IG about the Selena Tribute brunch, so I figure, let's go and check it out. I invited my sister, sister in law, and my partner for this so called brunch. Needless to say, we were all underwhelmed. The Selena tribute brunch was from 12pm-4pm. I made reservations. When we walked in, the host/greeter showed us at our table. This was our first time here, and he didn't go over how things work there, or mentioned the regular menu or brunch menu items. He didn't quite sell us on the place. There are no servers to take our order. You have to walk to the middle of the restaurant to order your food. And, you also have to go to the bar to order your drinks. Basically, it felt like a "self service" restaurant. The entire flow of the venue was off. However, the food tasted great, their tinga and pibil were amazing. We tasted a little of everything, it was all good. We were just upset at the whole flow of things and service, which was an issue for us. Also, they promoted a pitcher of sangria, but it was actually a carafe. Now, for the entertainment, we arrived at 12:30 pm, the Selena impersonator/drag queen, came out around 2:30 pm, after 2 hours of waiting for a 5 minute performance. We figured, maybe its a teaser performance, we all love Selena, so we stuck around for the next performance, which was about 45 minutes later for another 5 minute performance. We were all "that's it?!" We were disappointed and upset on our first and last experience here.

G V.

Yelp
Decent prices, good music, and friendly staff! The tinga is made with beef, if you are not familiar with this style of tinga, you might assume it's chicken (like we did) and order a meat you weren't expecting. Just a heads up :) You walk up to the cashier after being seated and place your order there, bar for alcohol. Welcome to Huntington Park! May this business thrive! Pictured: Sope de asada(left), sope de cochinita pibil (middle), and tostada de tinga(beef) (right).

Yelp
I was finally able to check out this spot and it was such a treat! It's located in the main strip of Huntington Park and you can find free parking right in back street and walk over. They have plenty of space with greats decor and of course, great music. I tried their taquitos dorados with chicken, tinga tostada with beef, and sope de asada- all super good and tasty. They also provide you with a green sauce that simply adds flavor and it's not spicy at all which was a delicious touch. If you do want to spice things up, they have 2 salsas that deliver a punch- salsa de árbol and salsa de habanero. Staff is super friendly and attentive! Check them out!

Norma S.

Yelp
Came out to Sazon's Sunday brunch and it was delicious. The vibes were great and the food was on point. I had the green chilaquiles with a watermelon michelada and was not disappointed. The chilaquiles were the right amount of crispy and soggy. Totally recommend this place if you want to vibe while you eat. The ordering process is a bit confusing but the staff is super nice at walking you through it. The music can be a bit loud so just be mindful of that. All in all, totally recommend.

Chloe V.

Yelp
I've been coming for many weekends now & have practically tried everything on the menu! I've tried the sopes, tacos, breakfast burrito, pozole, chilaquiles, super fríes...and every meat I went this Sunday and tried out a new item on their upgraded menu; enmoladas (pictured). I promise you everything taste amazing! The vibe of the restaurant is fast causal. You walk in, pick a table, order at the cashier, then they hand you your drinks, and you go back to your table where the food is brought out to you & they clean up after you. Very authentic ambiance with the decor, colors, music (both live and DJ). The staff is great & super useful! I love it here: 5/5 !!!

Dennis M.

Yelp
Went here Saturday afternoon to grab a bite to eat. Soon as we walked in, staff was friendly and inviting, let us know where to order food and where to get drinks. We went with the chicken taquitos and the mole chilaquiles. Both were absolutely amazing. Will be back just cause of that alone. Drinks were delicious too with us getting some IPAs and spicy Micheladas. Nothing disappointed, everything was ridiculously good. Ambiance is great too with the music and relaxed vibe making it quite the enjoyable experience. Will definitely be back often.

Discos R.

Yelp
Great new spot on a busy street, but don't let that fool you. Once you go inside nothing but chill vibes great drinks friendly staff homemade family style food definitely worth a trip! will definitely be back! Best pozole verde I've ever had!

Rose Q.

Yelp
Very delicious and authentic food! Thoughtful and kind staff. Amazing environment to celebrate or just hang out. I celebrated my birthday during a Sunday brunch and we all had a blast.

Sophia G.

Yelp
Sazón never disappoints! Best place for brunch hands down. I love their themed nights and performances. Definitely try it out if you're nearby

Arantzxa B.

Yelp
Excellent service and even more bomb food. Atmosphere and staff is so welcoming and feels like home. Food and drinks are fairly priced. Need to come here more often!

Dinah D.

Yelp
Great spot for Mexican food on pacific right off Florence. The food is so good! Mole chilaquiles were amazing. The tortilla chips were homemade and had the perfect amount of crunch and the mole sauce was so tasty with a tiny bit of savory spice to it. They have pozole (meat and vegan options) and the Vegan was really good. Tacos were generous sized and yummy. Fresh salsas were delicious. Can't wait to try more of the menu and stop by for a weekend brunch and happy hour soon. The owner was really nice and accommodating when helping me order! The spot is run by a great mother-daughter duo!

Monica A.

Yelp
I stopped by to try this place on a Sunday at around 12. There were quite a few people but we didn't have to wait. Since I had already read yelp reviews I figured I had to order first. That's what it seemed like. I got the cochinita pibil and my husband got the mole plate. We waited, I want to say about 35-40 minutes for our food. But honestly the wait was worth it. My cochinita plate was delicious!!! The rice and beans were also good. It is in smaller portions but it was so good. Not to mention they also have posole verde (Guerrero style) which my dad makes and he's also from Guerrero. So I can't wait to make a trip back to try it out! I tried my husbands plate and the mole sauce was so good, it was so rich in flavor. I could taste all the different ingredients and I'm not exaggerating. I had to drink a agua de piña which I liked cause it didn't taste overly sweet. This place was good it has two of my favorite plates cochinita and posole verde. I can't wait to come back and try the posole verde. The only thing was the wait time but other than that it was great! The vibe in there, the music they're playing wants to make you get up and dance!

Alexandra C.

Yelp
I have been here 3 times already!! It is totally worth the drive! The concept is: 1. You pick the base (tortilla, tostada, sope or huarache) 2. the type of meat (either cochinita pibil, tinga beef, chicharrón verde or asada) 3. And toppings like cabbage, crema and queso fresco. Can't get enough of cochinita pibil sopes perfect mix of crunchy and soft. During the weekend (brunch menu) they have awesome music (live djs), extra dishes like pozole verde and chilaquiles! And of course mimosas, sangrias and micheladas with Mexican candy Last but not least, I heard they have happy hour now! So I have to come back

nemi m.

Yelp
Love that this dope spot opened up and is serving food, dranks and good music. Unfortunately, our experience was not great when I took both my mom and my partner. Me and my mom ordered the pozole verde(was hella excited for this as I rarely find this), and my partner got the super fries. I was disappointed in the pozole verde in respects to the caldo(broth),had very very little. It really lacked the balance of caldo, hominy and chicken. Did love that aguacate and tostadas on the side tho. My mom's cafe de olla was not ready until after we finished our food and that really upset my mom. I really wanted to love this place but it isnt for all of our likings.I'm okay with that because I'll continue supporting these folks through Cumbiaton. Blessings to the familia

Green G.

Yelp
The food is authentic. So delicious and reasonably priced! The cochinita pibil was juicy and savory. Their habanero sauce was the right level of spice and flavor. Definitely coming back to try more dishes!

Meli R.

Yelp
When to sazón this last Sunday I had so much fun best micheladas and the food OMG so delicious red chilaquiles the best ..staff are very nice they where always asking if I need it something I totally recommend sazón

Fina M.

Yelp
Went with 5 of my friends and we ALL loved it. This place had Coffee de olla. That's when I knew I had come to the right place. Portions are larger than expected but food is so good you're thankful. Service was great but the best thing is it's authentic. Can't wait to go back.

Jose A.

Yelp
P-O-S-O-L-E verde! It was delicious!!! Also had a sope de tinga... the actual sope (tortilla) was very good!! The place is in the beginning stage so it does feel a little under staffed. Be patient and you won't be disappointed!

Leslie M.

Yelp
Family-owned business. Had a tostada de cochinita Pibil, which I don't find in many restaurants so I was excited to see it on their menu. Also had la piñata drink (mocktail version)- delicious and refreshing pineapple drink served with a watermelon and orange garnish and chamoy rim. Definitely going to come back and try their special pozole verde.

Jessica M.

Yelp
The michelada & pork con papas were finger-licking good! Can't wait to come back for the pozole. Also, their salsas pack a good kick

Marina M.

Yelp
The food was good the drinks were ok.. but what bothered me about the restaurant was the smell of sewage that was penetrated throughout the whole restaurant. It made the experience a bad one

Nathaly M.

Yelp
Love me some Sazon! We came and ordered a little bit of everything, pozole was so delicious, chilaquiles delicious, tacos delicious! Everything is on point so you can't go wrong with any choice, the drinks were also so good got a michelada *classic drink* and mimosa equally delicious! Anytime we're in Southern CA we'll be back

Yvonne G.

Yelp
The food and service were amazing. The French toast was delicious and the pozole was hearty. And I love that they check for vaccination cards. Thanks for creating such an amazing space!

Janette B.

Yelp
It was a vibe! I went with my bestie and we had a great time! Food was yummy and the music was great! Took down a mimosa kit too!

Brenda M.

Yelp
Bomb drinks and food. The vibe is great and the prices are more than reasonable. Definitely my new favorite brunch spot. Highly recommend the mole chilaquiles

Diana M.

Yelp
The staff is friendly. I tried the sopes and they were bland. Their prices are decent with the exception of the chips and salsa. You get a tiny basket with a 1oz salsa.
