Decent Food, But Rewards System Is a Joke. We stopped at Sbarro and grabbed a couple of pepperoni strombolis. The food was actually pretty good. Warm, fairly soft, and surprisingly easy to cut with just the standard plastic knife and fork they gave us. No need to go hunting for extra utensils, which was nice.
Now for the weird part: the rewards program. The receipt and signage all push you to sign up for Sbarro Rewards and promise a free slice of pizza for joining. So I did it. Easy enough. But when I tried to redeem the free slice, the gal at the counter told me she couldn’t do it because she didn’t “have a button” for that. Seriously?
So, in the end, we got decent strombolis but the whole rewards thing felt like a waste of time. If you’re going to advertise a perk, make sure your staff can actually honor it. Otherwise, don’t bother.
