Where to Stay in Copenhagen When You Visit (Updated 2025)

"Newly renovated and industrial-chic, Scandic Falkoner's theater theme nods to Frederiksberg's acting scene; I noted comfy king-sized beds, stunning city views from higher floors, and an in-house bar and restaurant that use only Danish ingredients." - Matthew Kepnes

Scandic Falkoner | Best places to stay in Copenhagen

"Brush shoulders with luvvies in the heart of theatreland at a high-rise hotel attached to one of the city’s most historic entertainment venues. Inspired by retro music halls and an age of Hollywood glamour, communal areas are decorated with vanity lamps, vintage posters and dazzling readographs. Built in 1958, the attached Falconer Center has played host to musical greats such as Judy Garland and Ella Fitzgerald, and their legacy is echoed throughout. Both the bar and Green Room restaurant – serving surprisingly good Danish bistro-style food – have a clandestine speakeasy atmosphere, making every guest feel like an undercover celeb. Disappointingly generic in comparison, rooms are still comfortable – and views from rooms on the 10th to 16th floors are show-stopping. " - Sarah Marshall

We had a satisfactory stay for 3 nights. The location is very convenient. It is next to a major metro stop and easy to travel to/from the airport via M2 line. Our rooms have a sofa bed which can accommodate one person. Beds are comfortable. Check in time at 4 pm is a little late but we were able to check in a little early. Overall, we like our stay and will stay here again.

Good hotel, good location(15-20 walk+metro to the center), we had an amazing view over Copenhagen! (Not sure all rooms have such view) The rooms were nice and clean. However with a carpet. We were very happy with the rooms and cleanines. The rooms are a quite dark themed(presumably from theatre time) but had plenty of lights. We came by car and used street parking(free on Sundays+Public holidays, otherwise paid by hour), alternately the hotel also offer parking at a P-hause at a cost. We where in Copenhagen as tourists, the hotel is right by the metro and only takes 15-20min to the center Copenhagen. Around the hotel there is plenty of good options for a delicious(and relatively cheap) breakfasts and dinners. We would definitely come back to this hotel if going to Copenhagen!

The hotel and the amenities were very high quality. The staff were super friendly and helpful. It is located very close to the metro so it is easy to get around. ||We stayed in one of the family suites and it was very clean and well tended to. There was a mini fridge, kettle, Nespresso machine and hairdryer in the room so the basics all covered. The TV’s allowed you to Chrome cast which is great for children. ||The only reason we’ve not scored it higher is purely due to the breakfast. There are various options available such as cooked (bacon lardons, sausages, scrambled egg, hash browns) and continental food (croissants, waffles, cheeses). Fruit on offer was lacking, there was a choice of 2 melon everyday and pineapple. No apples, bananas or grapes which you’d expect. We also struggled to get English breakfast tea as it was regularly empty and the hot chocolate function was broken. ||Overall the Scandic Falkoner served its purpose and we would recommend a stay there.

My stay at Scandic Falkoner Hotel was deeply disappointing, primarily due to the extremely poor level of cleanliness throughout the property. The hotel is, quite simply, unhygienic. The bathroom was in a visibly filthy condition, with heavy limescale and mould that had clearly accumulated over a long period of time. Both the sink and shower were blocked, causing standing water and making the bathroom unpleasant to use. These issues indicate systematic and prolonged neglect rather than an isolated oversight. The room itself was equally unclean. The carpet was heavily stained and ingrained with dirt, suggesting it had not been properly cleaned for a very long time. The overall impression was one of neglect and poor hygiene, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this category. I was offered a room change, but the second room showed the same fundamental issues. Cleanliness and maintenance appear to be consistently lacking across the hotel. Public areas also reflected this disregard for basic upkeep. Given the visible level of dirt and poor hygiene standards, I was genuinely concerned about health and safety. It is difficult to understand how this property continues to operate without addressing these fundamental issues. I would strongly advise potential guests to reconsider this hotel.

The upside : good location near shops and metro. I choose the hotel because I used to live in the area. The staff are friendly and helpful. I checked in early but for a fee. The high floor front facing rooms have great views. The bed in the room was comfortable. The downside : I upgraded to a superior room to get a double bed as the standard rooms have 2 singles pushed together. It wasn't very superior. Very small, no room from suitcases, no wardrobe and only 4 hangers on a small rack. Tea and coffee but no fridge. The bathroom was tiny with no space to put anything other than a toothbrush. Temperature couldn't really be controlled and ventilation was poor. One lift was broken for the 4 days I was there so a real hassle with only 1 lift working. The room was painted in a dark grey and black so quite depressing in the middle of a Danish winter. Cleaning was poor and the dark colour carpet in the room wasn't vacuumed and it needed to be. The hotel is attached to a conference venue and they use the same entrance meaning the large lobby area was super crowded and noisy at weekend. All in all although I love the area I won't be staying at this Scandic again despite the nice staff!! All

I stayed for 1 night and was pleasantly surprised - my room was clean, modern and the air/ventilation was perfect (unlike another Scandic I have tried where ventilation was too strong and cold and they can’t turn it off in a single room). I also never heard any noises in the evening from anyone walking in the hallway or a neighbour so slept well. Breakfast was good. The location is also very close to the subway so you can get more central very easily and there are many nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. This might be my new go-to hotel in Copenhagen.

We stayed at the hotel for one night for the 2025 Pride. The experience was very good and better than our expectation! The standard room was big and the view at the 12F from the room was super nice. The reception staff were nice and helpful. However, our special kudos go to Benjamin the barman! First of all, he made great coffee! What made me and my friend feel super nice was Benjamin's passion at work and prompt help with our questions and needs! We had some questions about the hotel's loyalty program and wondered if our purchases at the cafe/bar were qualified as well as the expense at the hotel and would be calculated into our member account. Benjamin wasn't very sure about it at the first and didn't really need an answer so we just got our coffee and left. However, the next day when we tried to get something at the cafe, we met Benjamin again, he recognized us and surprisingly proactively told us what he found out about our questions. He just got the answers from his colleagues at the reception yesterday for us. We felt so pampered by Benjamin's professional and thoughtful moves. That's the moment both me and my friend decided to stay with Scandic again next time when we come back here! You're so lucky to have Benjamin here working for you, Scandic Falkoner!

We always stay at the Falkoner when we go to Copenhagen whether it’s for business or for family vacations. The location is amazing. It’s close to many good restaurants, cafes and a mall where you can do all your shopping. It’s also a 2 minute walking to the Metro which is great. The bar is well equipped with friendly & accommodating bar tenders specially the men at night. The all you can eat breakfast is very traditional Danish breakfast but wish they were served warmer. They don’t have a toaster or an oven to toast the bread. I’m Asian so I’m not used to cold bread, I’m used to toasting my bread. And as far as i can tell the hotel has many Chinese, Japanese, Filipino etc tourists. There’s a waiter named Simone who is very helpful. The other guy waiters are accommodations too. Honestly I think the men waitstaff, bar tenders & chef are nicer than the women. Not sure why. The rooms are ok. A bit dark but I think it has a lot to do with it being an environmental hotel. You can choose to have the room cleaned everyday which you have to book for. Towels you can replace yourself with a rack by the hallway every morning. All in all it’s a good hotel.
