Beautiful view — disappointing food and service details (I'm a well-seasoned foodie)
The view at Scarlett Wine Bar is absolutely stunning — definitely worth seeing once, especially around sunset. But the food? Honestly, nothing special. And the attention to detail was not par with the prices.
🥩 We came craving a good steak, but the portion was bland, and way too thin. It had no sear, not juicy, came with no sides except 3 small potato wedges. It seems like they made the steak to be eaten with sauces, but personally a good steak should be tasty on it's own, with sauces optional, not necessary.
🍚Our truffle risotto was tiny and bland. Only upside was that they sliced actual truffle and had actual mushrooms inside. Sauce was creamy, just needed alot more salt and seasoning. I wish they gave a bigger portion as they market it as a main entrees.
🧀The cheese board also lacked flavor and creativity (the cheeses had no distinct flavor) — no toasted crackers, just the complimentary bread. Something as simple as texture or seasoning would’ve made a big difference. Unfortunately, these cheeses were the worst tasting cheeses of my life.
For a place that gives off a high-end, Western vibe, I expected more attention to detail. We had to walk up to the cheese counter to choose three cheeses (cool idea), but none had descriptions and the staff didn’t explain anything about them. The salt grinder barely worked, our vegetable side took so long we canceled it, and the happy hour wine pours were half-filled — which defeats the whole point of happy hour.
Overall, it’s a great place for a drink with a view, but not somewhere I’d return for the food.
If you’re not as cultured and just want pictures for Instagram or to impress people — go for it.
If you actually care about the meal, you’ll probably leave hungry and slightly annoyed.
