This was our first visit to Scat Jazz Lounge, and we had a blast! Great atmosphere for a date night and very talented musicians (Michael Morrison and the rest of the ensemble were terrific). Our server, Stephanie, was also SUPERB! Very friendly and attentive and had great drink recommendations. I highly recommend trying the cheesecake. Thanks for a delightful evening! We will definitely be back.

Google
This place is a great spot for a night out or a date night! The espresso martini and the hot Toddy were really good 10/10. However I will say it would have been nice to know at the door that rather than buying 2 drinks per person it could have just been a fee which was a bit inconvenient. Overall this place was great and the artist’s were amazing.

Google
So fun! Great jazz music, wonderful ambiance. I had the cold brew martini mocktail, and it was delicious.

I couldn’t tell you about the experience at this lounge because there actually was none! After planning our entire evening around this venue, myself and two friends arrive and are met with what I would presume to be the most incompetent, uninformed hostess, I’ve ever experienced. She immediately tells us she doesn’t work here often and doesn’t think she can seat us. That’s fine! We offered to split up, wait for a space to open up, sit at the bar stools, or even possibly stand as it genuinely didn’t look busy. She simply just gave us a dramatic frazzled shrug and said let me ask management. She returned in approximately .5 minutes saying management absolutely would not allow that. Okay lovely. The performers sounded amazing and we were honestly just hoping to have a classy evening out and enjoy their performance. She said, “you can leave and come back later” to which we asked is there truly nowhere for us to just observe and she said, “uh no”. The sound man behind her was zero help as he just said don’t look at me I just do the audio! Thanks man. We obviously thanked them for trying, and left however, overheard the group of gentleman behind us get seated immediately with no reservation. We were dressed professionally unlike the WILD ensemble miss hostess was exhibiting, we hadn’t had one drink that evening, and truly just confused were as to why she had a preconceived bias about us. Super disrespectful, the performers deserve better and she should go from working intermittently, to never working at all❤️

Saw Mahogany the Artist. GREAT jazz speakeasy atmosphere, great drinks, ever better waitstaff. Highly recommend!!!!

Google
It's a cozy place. The hospitality is on point! They give shout-outs for birthdays, anniversaries, & military. The drinks taste amazing & so does their cheesecake! I tried the Oreo but I bet the rest taste just as great.

Google
It was my first time ever at a jazz lounge and it was such a vibe and romantic date spot. It’s underground I suggest taking a sweater or something because it can get chilly. The music was everything. We ordered drinks but they took for ever to come the waitress said the original bar tender was out of town so his replacement must not of known what they were doing. I almost thought she forgot it because she did forget our chips and dip and we had to ask for it again but the spinach and artichoke dip was good.

Google
It's such an intimate setting, beautiful music and great drinks. The servers are attentive and I really love coming here

Yelp
Drinks are perfect, atmosphere is awesome, and service is friendly and attentive. Fantastic place for some amazing jazz! Never had a bad experience. (The only unfortunate thing is the cool elevator in the alleyway hasn't been working for years now, that was part of the "speakeasy" feel it had)
google avatar

Yelp
Nice spot with live jazz - had reservations for the Tim Ishii group. Ambiance was as expected--dim lighting with café-style group seating (pretty tight) in the center and cozier bench seating along the sides. Had champagne cocktail, lavender mint martini mocktail and hibiscus mojito mocktail - all were nice.

Yelp
Great vibe. Decent drinks. Live music part is 5 stars. We've been in DFW for decades and can't believe we just discovered this place. Perhaps the hidden entrance has something to do with it. The regular Sunday entertainment is solid. Friendly staff.
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
The hostess definitely set the mood by singing! This is the perfect spot for great jazz music. The crafted drinks were delicious, I can't wait to try more.

Rick G.

Yelp
I would give this place a 4.9 only because they allowed smoking. The last couple times there was no smoking. Not sure if it is code in Fort Worth now but the atmosphere ie GREAT, Music is outstanding and staff is impeccably attentive. If you don't know where it is, it is a bit difficult to find because you are stepping back into prohibition days of the speakeasy. If you like jazz and want an evening out, this is the place. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I recently went to see a show here for the first time to see an old Jazz keyboardist named Red from Austin and his band. It's a cool little lounge with good ambiance and an intimate setting, they only serve dessert and only 2 options for that as well which I didn't like although i will say the strawberry cheesecake was delicious. I did appreciate that they had mocktails as my girlfriend doesn't drink so we ordered the hibiscus mojito which was also delicious. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Scatb Jazz lounge to anyone looking for this type of laid back experience

Nadia L.

Yelp
The music was wonderful. Our server was really sweet. The atmosphere is a whole vibe and their small bites are delicious too. I'm excited to go back.

Greg B.

Yelp
Disappointed in the music. Band performed like it was their first time to play together, unorganized riffs. Lead singer should've never tried to sing, just awful. Doubt we'll be back or recommend.
google avatar

Gregory I.

Yelp
The bartender was very nice and made really good drinks along with the best live entertainment. This place is everything and then some. Great vibes

Yelp
A place you can go for top notch music with a broody ambiance.. this place has a very cool vibe. Great for date nights, friends hangout or or just a place to hangout. Highly recommend.

Leilah M.

Yelp
First of all the side entrance is closed off due to an elevator malfunction. Once you get in it smells like straight fish in there. Once you get down to the basement the place is dark and secluded. My biggest complain was needing to show ID when you're there to watch a band play mid music. I get that they serve drinks but they can do a better job on that. 4 drinks for $60 to not even feel a slight buzz lol. If you plan on coming on a weekday please don't. Crowd is a bunch of older people listening to mid ass music. If you're in ftworth looking for live music I'd recommend the piano bar down street instead. This place ruined my birthday plans and still couldn't get refunded the $40 of a lame show I couldn't even stay to watch.
google avatar

Skyy S.

Yelp
If you are looking for the perfect date night this place is it. You have to take an elevator down to the basement and there is the Jazz Lounge. I tried the Chocolate Martini for my drink and it was so good. Our waitress recommended it and I am glad she did. They don't have much food but they have chip and dips as well as cheesecake. I usually hate Caramel but this cheesecake was phenomenal. Lastly, the best part of this place is the music. It is always so good. They hire the best performers in the DFW. 10/10 best places to visit when in Fort Worth!

Yelp
Great atmosphere and welcoming hosts. We didn't have a reservation but they were super nice and were able to accommodate and had a table left. The show was great, the appetizers and desserts were good (no main entrees here just appetizers and dessert offered). The manager took care and checked on us several times because we were new customers. Outstanding service and a great time. We're coming back and bringing more people next time. Remember to make reservations via Internet
google avatar

Roxana A.

Yelp
Fun date night! Reservations only. You have to make reservations ahead of time... so it's not someplace you can pop into spontaneously. It was very dark and quiet... more of a romantic vibe. Not a good stop if you're looking to chat with friends, but excellent to enjoy some great jazz. Drinks were ok.
google avatar

Sydni M.

Yelp
Amazing drinks and amazing show. Love the cozy feel in there. Would pick a different table next time so me and my gf can sit side by side instead of across from each other but that's not their fault. Everyone was super nice and accommodating.
google avatar

Rick M.

Yelp
Nice relaxing jazz ensemble doing it right. Great Manhattan, yes it is with rye whisky...what else. Dark environment but decent little crowd tonight. It is Sunday and you never know who will show up to sit in on the jam!
google avatar

Ebony E.

Yelp
I loved it here. Nothing like a intimate setting, great service at the bar. And amazing drinks and live music. Take me back anytime!

Yelp
AMAZING night at the Scat Jazz Lounge. Service was friendly and attentive and drinks were on point. We tried an assortment and every single one was delicious. $10.50 for a well made cocktail is a bargain in my mind. Three cheers for the white lady, my personal favorite of the drinks we tasted. The music was excellent - SUCH a fun night! I only wish we had bought tickets to BOTH the 8 and 10pm shows! Because it was mentioned by previous reviewers, I'll add that there was absolutely zero weirdness from the staff about masks. Some employees wore them, some didn't. Some patrons wore them, some didn't. We all managed to find a way to get along.

Ken S.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and the servers and bartenders were attentive and friendly. Remember to get your ticket on the website. Oh, don't bring your baseball cap. You'll have to take it off.

Brian W.

Yelp
Great music and ambience. Service was a little slow but not enough to knock off a star. We'll be back!

Yelp
Service was HORRIBLE! First telling sign was when my group of three ladies walked into a JAZZ lounge...in downtown FORT WORTH... and the only AfrAm representation was the three of us and the origins of the music. And it's JAZZ! I don't automatically jump to an assumption about a place just bc I am the only melanin represented but I can say certain actions definitely raise an eyebrow. But that's a whole other conversation. The rest of the story should be of no surprise. The host at the hostess stand informed us of the two item min. No prob and to be expected. He then proceeded to seat us at a table dead in the middle of the few other tables of folks. This required a bunch of squeezing and "excuse me's" when there was a table right along the outer perimeter next to one other group he could have seated us with far less hassle. Then. We waited. Servers came left and right and from behind to all of the tables around us but NOT ONE approached our table or asked if we wanted to order anything. One of my friends and I tried to get the attention of two different servers and both of us were ignored. I started looking around behind me at the bar trying to find some reasonable solution to what was starting to be a painfully obvious and familiar scenario. I thought maybe we needed to order at the bar first or maybe oh I don't know I should have turned on the spotlight feature on my phone and waved it like a beacon to get someone's attention. I am almost certain neither would have helped. I raised my hands when I made direct eye contact with the host who had seated us in a "WTH" gesture. He ignored me although I saw him tracking my gaze to the bar and the servers. Then I called out to another server who was standing near me at a table providing drinks. She (we'll call her "Hippie chic" w/long straight hair) looked at me abruptly and gave me the "hand" then immediately turned to a lady to her left to listen to assist her instead. Finally she asks me what I needed. I asked her if there was anyone servicing this table. She said "of course" that's "xyz- (pink hair chic standing at the table next to me) and she will take care of you". Mind you I had seen pink hair already go back and forth to that same table as I searched for some sign of professional service in the place. Then as I watched pink-hair leaning down, engrossed in every word of the other patron, stand up. I just KNEW she would acknowledge our table...and just like that she turned away and NEVER looked in our direction. To say the least I don't spend my money in places where it or clearly I am not welcome so we got up and left. It was unfortunate bc the band sounded great for the 20mins I was there. None of us are from Ft Worth and it's sad to think this is how it goes down there. Maybe it was Just bad service and an example of the sad state of our world.

Christy T.

Yelp
Good show and drinks, but you are not told there's a two ITEM minimum OR no dancing till you walk in the door. Fine. When you sit down, you are asked for a credit card to start a tab. After last call, just before your show ends the server will bring a bill and charge your card. I took two stars away because I was surprised to see that my tab was $28, tax was $2.30, but my bill total was over $31. I asked the server why the math didn't add up, and was told there was a service fee to use the card I was asked for when I sat down. The fee was not shown or itemized on the bill, and she had already charged my card. I told her that was shady, and I would rather pay in cash. So she returned and said they took it off my card and there was no fee, but never brought me a new bill.

Jay M.

Yelp
I highly recommend this. Remember you must purchase tickets online. I dont believe this is a lounge that has live performances every so often. They are strictly live performance only. The ambience was romantic and intimate. Great acoustics. Wait staff were prompt and made their rounds regularly. My only slight issue was the band I saw only performed 60-75min. Which I thought was rather short so I didnt necessarily feel I got my entrance money's worth. But that's probably not on the lounge but on the band itself. I would definitely go back and recommend to everyone who appreciates jazz.

Yelp
This place was always a good find and we always enjoyed going there years ago. When we most recently went, you needed a reservation, even on a weekday. That was somewhat disappointing-but overall still a great experience.
google avatar

Jaleel E.

Yelp
The setting itself is amazing. To get there, it's an old school alley where you have to then take the elevator. The atmosphere is set for couples who enjoy jazz. Those are the good Now to the not so good. One the drinks are awful. They are decently price but taste terrible. The music was ehh at most. Lastly the tables are tiny. They are not comfortable at all.
google avatar

Kendall S.

Yelp
Martinis and live jazz music. A dark ambiance. A crowded room. Little tables all packed close together. Drinks only, no food! This is a wonderful little lounge and a beloved Fort Worth lounge... if you go to Sundance Square you gotta take a peek at this place. It's literally down a small alley, and then then down an elevator. An underground lounge! Feels very prohibition-y, of course, which is fun. I've been here before on weekend nights where the room fills up super fast and they literally can't let new people in until other's leave. Come early on the weekends for a good seat!
google avatar

Susan M.

Yelp
This is the best jazz venue in the region. Top notch music. Great service. Eat before you arrive because the menu is sparse. The music is the main attraction.
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
Visit any chance I can when in FW. A great experience any time I've been. Get tickets early for a good seat.
google avatar

Stevie B N.

Yelp
Always a nice time to see live music, great service & drinks, the dark setting ambiance is key!
google avatar

Demetria C.

Yelp
The live music here is amazing!!!! I can't speak on the food because they don't serve any which I found kind of strange. The drinks were pretty weak so I asked the bartender to bring an extra shot of tequila with each drink. That being said, although the drinks were weak and they didn't serve food, the music was definitely on point!!!!

Nelson C.

Yelp
Excelent Service with a good ambience and live music. They dont have a lot of food but the dips are very good. The people is super friendly. I really recomend to go if you are in Downtown Forth Worth.
google avatar

Olga M.

Yelp
I've been here before and I loved it I was killing time from the arts festival till my movies started at 10:30 at amc the host was the rudest person I've ever encountered and I've been in the service industry for over 8years as a server and a host in the past I normally don't do this but he was out right the worst attitude when we were just trying to see about entry because we've always just walked in we had no clue about a cover we were just passing time there's away to explain things without being sooooooo rude
google avatar

Yelp
Last night we saw Ricki Derek and the Vegas Six, the music was great, and the show was very entertaining. The drinks were wonderful, the favorite of the night was the Mocha... it was like a candy bar in a glass!
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
OH MY GOODNESS I am in LOVE!!! Austin was our waitress and was SUPER friendly and attentive. We saw Ricki Derek and the Vegas 6 and I did not want the night to end. It truly felt like you were transported through time. We definitely will be going back.
google avatar

Angela K.

Yelp
Nice vibe in the middle of Fort Worth. Great date night spot. We were running late and the staff accommodated us for the next show since tables were available. Cocktails on point!
google avatar

Thiago D.

Yelp
This place is amazing, the music, the ambiance, everything is just amazing. We like the small tables close to the bar and our waitress Austin was awesome. Love their Old Fashioned, you gotta try it. Highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Tiffany M.

Yelp
It was my boyfriends and I first time visiting Fort Worth Texas in August, this place popped up as we looked for something to do on our last night here and I wouldn't have wanted to spend it any other way! The whole staff was incredible. Alex Blair kicked ass. And the whole vibe to this place was just overall amazing. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Christie F.

Yelp
We love this place! It's our favorite date night. It has such a cool vibe and we love the different musicians.

Jack S.

Yelp
A lace that outside makes you question the need to take an elevator. Downstairs wide open and clean location to relax and enjoy. Mixed drink and beer options. Food is limited to very good crackers and dip, or some pretty amazing desserts. Say hi to Austin the bare tender and say You were sent here by the helicopter guy.
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
I love The Scat Lounge for so many reasons! The obscure location, the vintage feel once you walk in, the smell of an old jazz club, the entertainment is always top notch! You can not go wrong by hanging out at this place. Be sure to eat before you come here. It's a bar/lounge,and they do not serve food. The dance floor has ample space to move around and groove if you feel so inclined.

Andrew P.

Yelp
Had a chance to stop by and listen to some great music late May! It was a great experience with even better jazz music. This is always one of my fav spots when I'm in Ft. Worth! We'll see you soon!
google avatar

Mykie D.

Yelp
Cool location and vibe but it felt so filthy and it's so dark in there you can't see the potential filth. You can smell the bathroom from the hallway. Drinks were bottom shelf. My allergies started acting up as soon as I sat down due to dust. Not sure I have to go back
google avatar

Erin D.

Yelp
When you make a reservation you get to stare at a big pole and not see anything :( Service was good, but when my husband tried to turn his chair to look at the stage (because they sat with his back to everything) they said he couldn't. Disappointed because we called ahead to make reservations and people that dropped in night of seemed to get better seats.
google avatar

Cydney F.

Yelp
We have visited Scat's 3 times now and I love it! Very relaxing atmosphere and the live music is awesome. We usually grab a bite to eat before we head over to Scat's since they do not serve food but the drinks are amazing and the prices are reasonable. I recommend making a reservation in advance to guarantee a seat and the earlier you make your reservation the better location of your seat. We will definitely be returning on many more date nights!!

Maybell L. K.

Yelp
Literally were here at 9:42 and Tyler "gracefully" told us we needed to wait to get in at 9:45. He was literally the nastiest human I've run into in a long time. He felt fine with his attitude and so did the other staff. Maybe this is how the world is now but I've not seen this in a long time. We went out for a nice night, was not what we got past our waitress. Just strange.

Yelp
This is by far the best jazz joint that I have been to in the DFW area. It is quite a drive out for me considering the fact that I'm coming from the Lewisville area which is about an hour drive from here. But it is worth it. I have made it out to this place 3 times so far in the past month and a half and I have never been disappointed. Their bands come out from all over the country and usually play from 9PM to 2AM. As far as prices, they are pretty on the average side. Not too high and not too low. They also do NOT serve food. They only have drink menus, which actually is great to know that they can put all of their effort into other things than FOOD .. at a jazz lounge. I gave minus 1 star because the fact that it is really really really really really hard to find. They should really put some signs up because the alley way that it is in .. is really movie-like and a fun way to find your way there and take an ELEVATOR to the bar ... but it's really hard to find realistically. And also another reason was the fact that my buddies ordered cocktails and when they took one sip and realized it wasn't for them, they wanted to kindly ask if they could change it out to a familiar drink instead and the server said they could not. Now of course I know they drank some and they should not have taken the risk but at the same time, really??? .. downfall .... So if you don't like something here ......... just be ready to be stuck with it anyways. And don't try anything NEW because if you don't like it or your tummy doesn't agree with it .. you will have to learn to live with your mistakes .... hehehee
google avatar

Eileen C.

Yelp
This venue is the most poppin' place in Fort Worth, TX. In order to guarantee a table one needs to call and make a reservation in advance. Surprisingly, spots fill up pretty quickly. We got lucky and were able to walk in. Cover charge of $12. Disclaimer, I was visiting from NYC where jazz clubs are easily $20 for cover and an extra $20 for drinks. The cocktails here were $10, awesome deal for a nice strong drink to sip on. We also got really lucky with the band - Ricki Derek and the Vegas Six. They were phenomenal!! Truly an amazing performance. It was as if Sinatra himself stepped out of a black-and-white TV, or if we traveled back in time. The music and showmanship was top quality. Loved this jazz lounge!!

Yelp
It's a few years since my last visit to Scats. This trip started late, but the place has a cool vibe that's almost irresistible. The neon catches your eye at the entrance to a dark, empty alleyway. It's a bit creepy, yet fun as you face an elevator door and await your ride beneath the pavement (the homeless drug  addict would camp out later for folk exiting the place.) Below street level, the doors opened into the blackness of candle light and the deafening assault of Red Young & friends blasting from a sound system that's out of control. The girls at the front say something unintelligible as I look for my interpreter. I pay the cover charge only to find we're now on the waiting list. Ears aching and vision beginning to adjust to the dark, it's SRO with nowhere to S and 100+ people in a play of either acting cool because that's what you do in a jazz club or being clearly upset that wait staff are unable to keep up with the crowd. Some 15 minutes in and folk trickle out to see if they've suffered any permanent hearing loss. The band hadn't gotten any better but, with no offer of bar service and hands over our ears we remain hopeful something will be worth the cover charge. After being seated it was another 15 minutes before we walked to a floor supervisor to beg for table service. Fast-forward through a band that finally found it's groove early in the next set (only to lose it again in the wreckage of the sound system) a martini squeezed from the chaos of an overworked bar is drained and we agree the night is lost and no longer worth even the cover. Yes, your mileage may vary and Fort Worth really isn't known as a jazz haven, so our odds were less than a crap shoot. This was a stupid visit that was both physically painful, medically questionable, and unnecessarily frustrating. Back up to the air and even the requisite addict had arrived at street level to follow us to the next corner. Just...sad. We'd waited too long before scatting out.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in the world! Jazz at its finest. World class live music. You will feel like you've stepped back in time to the 30s or 40s speakeasy. Down the alley and the you go Down in a basement. I only wish they had some snacks tapas. And they seriously need wifi. Connection down there is terrible. Maybe it's better that I can't connect with my phone, so my husband says. Enjoy the Dance floor more and focus on the music. Don't miss their spectacular Christmas Shows, Halloween party, and of course New Years eve is also a great time to visit. Get early reservations.
