Schaarschmidts Restaurant

The restaurant has an very nice atmosphere. Feels very inviting. The food was delicious. It took time to arrive but it was worth the visit!

This restaurant is about 15 min away by tram from Leipzig Main Station (tram #12). The ambience is very nice; as though eating in a friend’s house. The menu is only in German, but our server is very helpful providing a very detailed translation

I was glad to celebrate my birthday and spend a wonderful evening with my son in your restaurant! Very tasty food, beautiful presentation of dishes, cozy restaurant, pleasant and comfortable, friendly atmosphere! A special restaurant! Thank you for your work!

Great start, both starters and mains were wonderful, and accompanied by some fabulous wines. But... the mains were cleared, along with the empty wine bottle and after some half hour of waiting to even see a member of staff we gave up on the chance of being offered dessert or another drink and cut short what should have been a wonderful 50th birthday meal, leaving instead with a sense of bitter disappointment. Spent a lot of money for what should have been a great experience only to regret the whole thing.

Warm friendly service. Delicious food, beautifully presented. We had the most delcious Malbec with our meal. Hard to believe this was our first time there since we live very close by. Already looking forward to our next visit.

High expectations surpassed. Not only was the food excellent, the wine list extensive and exciting to read and the service absolutely charming. No, after just a couple of minutes we felt already like regulars, like home and almost as if we had lived in Gohlis ever since. Thank you! Will definitely return.

Great meal and great service! A cozy setting with old world charm. We had a party of 5, each having something different from the menu, and everything was great. The menu is written on a large chalk board and the waiter will explain it in English if you don't understand German. Is it worth the cost? Yes! Even during the World Cup, the waiter took the extra step and kept us up to date on the score of the game that night. While the overall seating may appear cramped, it is very cozy once you get settled and enjoy the experience.
