Forest Acres standby for New York–style pies and red‑sauce classics. The State’s pizza roundup has long included Schiano’s, and locals still pile in for garlic bread, chicken parm, and late‑night slices.

I'm steaming mad right now. I ordered chicken alfredo and lasagna with meat/meat sauce..total $44. IN BOTH containers it was BARELY filled with food....the CHICKEN Alfredo came with NO CHICKEN and the noodles were drowned in COLD Alfredo sauce..the lasagna had literally ONE noodle in it and was barely filling the container...DO NOT order from this place...go inside so that way u will NOT be cheated out ur money...I called 2x once being hung up on and the other with the BLASTED manager trying his best to tell me what I ordered...people PLEASE look at the pictures and tell me...is that worth $44????!!!!

I tried this restaurant for the first time. I was not disappointed. I ordered a small pie and a slice to go. The pie was drier than I had expected but overall good taste. The slice was nice and cheesy. I will go back for another try. There slices combos are affordable. Update 3/7/25 I tried the chicken parm sub and it was sooooo good. Photo update.

Google
Pizza was made amazingly! Love the linguine marinara mussels wish it had more marinara but tasted amazing. The salad still had olives and peppers in it when I requested it to be taken out and also they forgot my bread sticks but after I told them they handed it to me. Both girls working service didn't know the menu appropriately and the one answering the phones and running the register/phone orders had nothing but attitude and temper. Didnt appreciate the other girls rudeness when I arrived to pay and wait for my order. Definitely would come back for the food if the service gets better without the nasty attitude.

Pops hooked me up with the BEST SLICE IVE HAD IN YEARS! . Yea I’ll be back . The salad *chefs kiss* simple and tasty like I like it. Thanks pops for the pizza!!!!! I’ll be back!

I ordered the 12 Inch Italian Sub, asked for extra salami in place of the ham and I opened the sandwich to 3 half pieces of salami. I called the restaurant and expressed my disappointment. They told me to come back to the restaurant for them to remake it but that negates the point of delivery in the first place. I was told from Schianos that it was a DoorDash issue but the restaurant clearly read no ham and dismissed my request to replace the meat. The Classic Lasagna was fine as well as the Large Grilled Chicken Salad but for $12 for a sub with 3 pieces of meat is absurd. If I wanted bread I would have ordered a loaf of bread... I will order again but no longer a sandwich from here. Also, I would suggest the restaurant have better options for resolving an issue rather than blaming their mistake on DoorDash, who is only responsible for picking up the order, not for making the order.

Neighborhood pizza place. Prices are reasonable, but pizza was average.

On 8/15/25 at 6:47 PM, my husband and I called in to order a large cheese pizza with two sides of marinara for pickup. We were told it would be ready in about 30–35 minutes. At 7:18 PM, we went inside to pick it up, only to be told they couldn’t find our order in the system or written down anywhere. None of the staff admitted to taking our call, even though we had clearly spoken to a girl when placing it. They offered to put the order in at that point and “try” to move it to the front of the line, but it still would have been a longer wait than just going home and making our own. This location has gone downhill in recent years - pizzas are either fantastic or absolutely terrible. We decided to give them another chance after a long break, and it was the worst decision ever. Hands down, the worst location.

Google
Ordered a pizza to go. They said 20 minutes until it’d be ready. Show up 30 minutes after I called and it wasn’t ready. It was Friday night so understandable. Wait an addition 25 minutes until my pizza was ready. Get home and I’m pretty sure they just threw the toppings on top of an already cooked cheese pizza. If you tilted your slice the toppings just rolled off. I’ll give it another run since there aren’t many pizza places around but that was an unacceptable pizza given the time and money spent.

Yelp
I love that I can order pizza by the slice. That way I can order exactly the amount will eat for that meal and not have to freeze the rest. The slices are huge! Plus they are not oversauced or piled high with filler ingredients. Staff is friendly and welcoming, greeting me immediately upon entry, a big plus these days.

Yelp
Hard to get a decent rating if the pizza dough never got cooked...Got an XL white pizza. Half of the slices had pizza dough that was still wet, (see picture). The pizza wasn't cooked. I think the dough has potential with better quality flour and cooking it properly. Dough isn't bad for the properly cooked slices, but tastes like basic white flour. Great pizza has a crust that tastes good when you get a crust-only bite. The cheese blend is good, not too dense/heavy. But the garlic flavor is barely noticeable.. Would be better with more garlic and more herb. I can tell this could be a ZERO-FLOP pizza if cooked properly.

Yelp
Passing through to get to Hilton Head. Wanted something easy and fast. Decided to try this place. Not difficult to find. Plus they had lunch specials. We all go the lunch specials. I got a 2 cheese pizza special. My friends got the meatball sub and Italian sub specials. I thought the pizza was a bit salty. It pieces were huge and I ate 1 and took 1 home. The meatball subs were good I was told. And the Italian sub was good. The place can fit a fair amount of people and looks quick casual. Seems like they could wipe down tables and surfaces better. Seemed sticky which is why the score. Probably won't go back. Seems there are better places.

Yelp
PSA-- We took a chance on the pasta but unfortunately all of the pasta dishes tasted like the cheese was rotten and was absolutely terrible... I wasted money. The Pizza looked edible but be warned ... do not order the pasta. From the pasta to the sauce disgusting Horrible!

Yelp
Still a four star but close to dropping to 3 stars 9/6/23. The lettuce wasn't as fresh as it normally has been and the pizza crust was a little to burnt for my liking. But we were hungry and we ate it. Good pour on the wine and the beer was nice and cold. We had a hard time finding a clean table. Most had crumbs from previous diners or water dripping on them from the AC vents. We dined around 6pm.

Yelp
Quick service Italian restaurant that was pretty dang good! We are headed to the beach and stopped for a bite to eat. This is a nice change to fast food and they offered something that everyone wanted. The pastas came with the Greek salad. The alfredo sauce was very creamy and delicious, not garlic based like some Italian restaurants. The tomato sauce for the lasagna was fresh tasting and a little on the thinner side, which was very refreshing. The lasagna didn't lack any cheese, mozzarella and ricotta were plentiful. We were hoping they offered thin crust pizza but they only have one type of crust option, but it wasn't too thick. Service was quick and the staff were very nice.

Bill D.

Yelp
Good New York style pizza, but be sure to order extra sauce! Service was excellent! Price is perfect!

Yelp
It's just ok. They didn't melt my cheese but the pizza just taste average now. Great size slices but that's it.

Yelp
Food is typically good, they're mostly consistent. I'm from NJ they're my go to place for pizza that's like from home. The atmosphere is classic and cozy, it's always clean. And the staff is usually very kind

Larry C.

Yelp
Great food best pizza in town similar to New York Pizza the Forest Drive is very easy to get to it's around a lot of other shopping and their calzones are to die for I own them every time I order a pizza try it you like it

Ben W.

Yelp
Great tasting food and large potion sizes. Haven't eaten inside yet but every takeout order has been fast and correct. Would recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
The pizza is very good. You should ask for it to be extra crispy and well done so the crust will hold up better

Yelp
I've wanted to try this place for a while and I finally was able to through DoorDash. We ordered the meatball sub which was super saucy and came with about 4 meatballs or so. I sampled a piece of the meatball and it lacked taste. The pizza and bread sticks were pretty good though. I don't know how they got those bread sticks with so much flavor but I think that was my favorite thing. The pizza had a nice crust and plenty of cheese which is always a plus in my book. We got the meaty and the toppings were good as well. Definitely a must try! The Italian sub was pretty standard. The portion sizes were good!

Yelp
I guess the name Schiano's Fast Casual Italian kind of says it all. There is nothing fancy about this place,   but that is not a bad thing. There is nothing fancy about pizza (though people try to make it upscale). It's roots were not fancy nor should It's future. Honestly, I am fine with this humble foundation. It also does not mean that pizza is not one of the greater culinary creations that have been created throughout history. Done right, pizza is a wondrous thing. A perfect combination of dough, sauce, cheese and spices. If you are into toppings, they can enhance a pizza. Pizza is truly a wonderful food. Schiano's Fast Casual Italian is OK. It is nothing great, really not very good, but it is decent enough. I would not go out of my way for this pizza, but it did fill a craving. I guess I will end up going with three stars for Mt score. It is not a terrible score, three stars is muddle of the road. Kind of mediocre.

Yelp
What I liked- the ravioli were amazing. The atmosphere was comfortable. Parking was easy. Good prices. It seemed clean. What i didn't love- Customer service was bare minimum, not friendly, questions were briefly answered,, nothing was really explained, staff just was not welcoming. The salad was requested to have no cheese, it arrived with cheese. The pizza slices were overcooked, tough to eat, and just not very good- just okay. There was no toilet paper in the restrooms. Overall, i would come back for pasta (not pizza) and give them another chance.

Yelp
Yesterday - 4/29/2023 - I stopped at Schiano's because I was craving Italian cuisine. Looking at the menu, the lasagna looked really nice. It was also the most expensive item on the menu. The restaurant was empty at noon so I should have been suspicious. I was served a nice salad with feta and fresh olives and I thought it was a good sign. Then the lasagna came. It was large plate of a flat mess. The picture was showing a multi layered lasagne with wavy noodles, lots of cheese meat. What I got could in no way been called lasagna. I gave it a try. It had no taste at all. Frozen lasagna from the grocery store is better. The noodles were flat and thin. The meat was small balls of sausage or hamburger, that had no flavor. I am not sure if there was ricotta in the mix. I couldn't tell. I ate about half of it and then took a break to the restroom. Then when I came back, my table had been cleared and the decision was made for me not to finish my lunch. Never again.

Yelp
I enjoy real Italian pizza. I have passed this resturant for years and have almost ordered many times, however they never seem cordial or friendly. But I really wanted to try them. When I picked up the order I didnt recieve a hello or welcome just looks. I asked about the order and was told the price and I left. When i got home I was really confused with the salad. I paid $8 for a side salad at best. Extremely over priced. The pizza was raw and mushy. I will not be back. I was very disappointed with the entire experience.

Yelp
I have eaten here a few times. My favorite is the sausage pizza. They slice their sausage instead of the typical sausage you see elsewhere. The salads are also good and can feed 2-3 people. They also have pasta and calzones. For drinks they have beer, wine, fountain soda, bottle soda, and wine. We find it a bit cheaper to buy a 2 Liter and split the soda than buying fountain drinks. The only thing I didn't like what's that there was no server here. You order at the counter and then seat yourself. If you need anything just go to the counter. They will bring your pizza out but that's about it. Not a big deal, but I had to constantly get up and ask for things. This restaurant doesn't seem busy, so would be great for parties or last minute gatherings.

Yelp
We have been trying local pizza places to celebrate National Pizza Month (it's a thing, you can google it). This spot came highly recommended. We tried via Uber Eats, but I was so pleased with our experience. To begin with, I found their prices to be quite reasonable. My husband and I both got individual 9" pizzas for $8.99 each. The toppings were generous, and I really enjoyed the crust. We also tried their mini cannolis, and I strongly recommend those too. We will definitely be back to try some more menu items!
google avatar

Yelp
The pizza wasn't bad. 2 individuals and 1 medium was $55. It was a little on the greasy side for me. The cheese, pepperoni and sausages were delicious. I would of like more sauce on it though. The young female server was nice. She seemed busy but had a smile with the Friday night rush.

Rachel W.

Yelp
This is our family's go-to for pizza in Columbia. We almost always just get a classic cheese pizza, and it gets to us hot, fresh, and flavorful. Their pizza is well-seasoned and not too greasy. Schiano's is always a crowd pleaser.
google avatar

Alfie B.

Yelp
I had been craving some pizza, so decided to try Schiano's. It wasn't too busy so we were seated immediately. The inside environment is a mix of sports bar and fast casual restaurant. Service was friendly and quick. We ordered a large Italian sausage and mushrooms pizza. Schiano's uses a thinner crust (I prefer Chicago style personally), which had just the right amount of crispness to it. Pizza sauce was fine. If I had one issue it was the Italian sausage. It was cut like pepperonis and had an overly processed texture to it. Overall it's not my favorite pizza place in Columbia, but I would still recommend Schianos for anyone wanting pizza.
google avatar

Curtis J.

Yelp
I've given this business multiple tries, but it just doesn't measure up. The customer service is lackadaisical and the food is mediocre. And they messed up my order again tonight, and almost made me walk away with the wrong version of the part of my order that was actually made correctly (that may sound confusing, and believe me, I was too). Also, the cooking staff are not wearing their masks on their faces, just on their chins, where they're serving zero purpose. They don't care about us, so I won't be returning here..
google avatar

Mary D.

Yelp
We come here several times before, the food & service is always good. ( including take out). The antipasto salad has imported ham, Genoa Salami, Provolone & Pepperoni served on Mediterranean salad. This is a remarkable taste & blend. I can just eat this by itself! The Super Special, is another one their pizzas that is always extremely delicious. It comes to your table still hot so you can savor every bite, tasting the fabulous cheeses & toppings. So when you find yourself on this side of town definitely drop by and enjoy the other items they sell. We've never been disappointed with anything we've order. We will be back! Thank you, we loved everything, as always!!!

Yelp
This is a really good pizza place in Columbia that's fairly priced and fairly better than good. I went here really sporadically to surprise my fiancée because she wanted to try it and I was pretty impressed. It really is a quaint little place and it's a place I can see myself going to regularly. Their garlic cheese bread is absolutely phenomenal. It is amazing and it melts in your mouth. It's four dollars and I would highly recommend this. We also had their pizza which was honestly just okay. It wasn't necessarily great, but it wasn't bad. It was very doughy and chewy but I enjoyed that. We got those two things and it was sixteen dollars so that's great pricing. I would recommend going.
google avatar

Ben G.

Yelp
I'll give it a solid 4/5. The waitress was very polite and accommodating, the outside seating was nice, food is good, not WAY above average, but better than normal. Salad could've done with a little less dressing, it was pooled up at the bottom of the plate. Been here before and will define my be back every once in a while.

Grayson M.

Yelp
I've been here twice. Once was about seven years ago and the second time was last weekend. There was one other table dining in. All of the pasta dishes came out within 20 minutes, while I waited 45-50 minutes for my pizza. The workers were not super nice, I could barely understand what they were saying, as they all mumbled. They apologized for the wait on the pizza, saying the ticket didn't print, but they walked by us many times and kept saying "It will be 5 more minutes". There was nobody else there besides the one table, and they said they waited an hour for their calzone. The pizza was good!
google avatar

Lindsey B.

Yelp
This is family owned, I think, and run, at times service and food are great, at other times I have some issues. First, the salad is great, but they are stingy with the crackers, but by asking over and over, I finally get all I need. The pizza is good, but not enough tomato sauce to suit me, I ask for more, and usually get more, but strangely sometimes I get the extra, not on the pizza but as a little cup on the side... and it is cold at that sometimes. Strange. Maybe they fix the pizza in mass and can't add extra sauce? Same with green pepper. I love it on my pizza but when I request it , I get so little I can hardly find it ... but, overall the pizza is consistent and the crust is good, so I do go back, just not as often as I would if things were tweaked a little bit better.

Yelp
There is nothing wrong with the food it's the service Exuse me language but it's was very shitty the cashier was very grouchy and rude. My friend and I ordered big 3 slices and the other one on a separate order he orders a whole pizza and it came out first we ordered at 5:30 and it's almost 6 and it's still not out we tried to get there attention and they just look at us and walk away like I work in customer service and never in my year have I seen this shitty of customer service and they said it was made wrong the first time that's why it took long please tell me how you mess up cheese pizza
google avatar

Miguel A.

Yelp
Good service. The young man up front was very nice and cordial. Got my order right. The pizza was hot hot hot. Flavor was superb and excellent amount of toppings!! Great job. I'll be back. Gave it 4 stars because they charge extra for Parmesan cheese and pepper flakes. I'll still go back.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
I would highly recommend this place! I always get carry out from here during the week and they never disappoint! Such great pizza and freshly made salad
google avatar

Allie J.

Yelp
Good pizza and comes out quick. New York style when you can't get that everywhere. Wish they delivered to me but worth the drive.

Bri T.

Yelp
I wish it was possible to leave zero stars. Yesterday, 4/30/23 a friend and I decided to order lunch from the Forest Dr Schiano's location because we've loved the Sparkleberry location for years. I ordered a Super Special Calzone and had to pick through it. There was hardly any meat in it(supposed to have pepperoni and ham) and barely any mozzarella cheese but was loaded with ricotta. My friend ordered the chicken parm sub 8", first of all this sub couldn't have been 5" long and it was all cheese and bread, with ONE chicken strip on this supposedly 8" sub. When we picked up the order the girl at the counter was rude and for lack of a better word incompetent. After telling her we ordered over the phone(she took the order 15 min prior) she proceeds to hand over the bag and had to be reminded that we needed to pay. Just a very disappointing experience overall.

Yelp
Simply put the best hands down around all the towns! If I'm in Columbia near either of their locations, I may not even want pizza ! That doesn't mean I'm not gonna grab a pie from Schianos. From a transplanted New Yorker it's my pizza home.

Rayshad K.

Yelp
There was no pizza sauce on the pizza, I order a stuff crust pizza and it was a pizza with the a flap on it and no sauce smh I might have went on a bad day
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
Visiting from Florida and stopped here our first night with family. Family friendly. You order when you first get in, then go sit down and they will bring your food out. There is nothing fancy here. A TV on the wall and typical pizza joint but I can tell you the pizza is delicious. I'm kind of a pizza crust snob and I liked theirs. Usually I bring the crust home for the pups but I actually ate most of it here. Their salad is good sized. And self serve soda fountain. If your looking for a good pizza and no frills, casual dining. Try this place.
google avatar

Mia O.

Yelp
Pizza was really good, nice and hot! The only thing is that it was little burnt on the bottom. I definitely recommend the pepperoni stuffed pizza, definitely fulfilling and you won't be disappointed. I did order through Uber eats that made the delivery charge $5.99 however it was worth it. Glad we gave Schianos a try:)

Dave H.

Yelp
Can't say it was a good experience. Waited 45 minutes for a Stromboli that was undercooked and had two pieces of salami and one piece of ham and possibly one slice of cheese for $11. WTF?!?! Both ends were nothing but bread. From online pictures the patriarch of this place was working the kitchen but didn't care. Can't say I recommend going here.
google avatar

Tom S.

Yelp
The pizza was a 7.1 and the Stromboli was a 7.6 (one bite scale). The only problem with had was the pasta was over cooked sooooo badly the noodles were soft and fell apart. Pasta should never be cooked this well and be considered Italian. If you can't roll it up on a fork it should go in a soup.

Wavey A.

Yelp
Food was very much giving bland. No flavor what so ever. I feel like the meatballs where made from mystery meat cause the texture was very odd. The pizza had little to no sauce on it at all. The ravioli was a disaster not appeasing to the eyes at all. I could continue but it's not worth the time. Step ya flavors and presentation up y'all cause ion feel comfortable eating here anymore. 10/10 would not come back. Then the customer service horrid my waiter said they didn't have pasta tins and handed us a flimsy pizza box to put it in but then we see another family getting handed exactly what we asked for. Giving very much racist idk.

Adrian S.

Yelp
Not happy with their Italian Sub sandwich. Very little meat and cheese and not enough lettuce tomato. No olives or onion on a Six inch bun. I'm sorry I didn't take a pic of it. It was embarrassing.

Yelp
It was decently fast and certainly very casual. While the meal was half way decent, the service and staff were deplorable. Skip this place and head up the road to The Pizza Joint (or anywhere else) -- I wish I had. I walked in to a cashier slouching all over the register. I told him it was my first time with them and I wanted to know how everything worked. He said, "you order here and sit there (pointed finger)." Clearly he didn't want to be there. I then asked what their most popular items were on the menu. He said, "the pizza." Clearly he didn't want to be there. I ordered a medium pepperoni, mushroom and onion pie along with cheese bread and marinara sauce with an unsweet tea. He handed me my change and a styrofoam cup and said "Here's your cup and your number. Enjoy." Clearly he didn't want to be there. I pick a table and walk over to it while I wait for my order. The table is set and looks clean. There were three different televisions to watch, which was nice. Apparently it's a "fill your own cup" type of place. So I did. I was never told this, even though I was a first time guest and even said as much. I sort of waited to see if someone was going to do it, and I eventually just got up and did it myself. At this point, clearly no one wanted to be here.... The cheese bread was actually nicely done with a light crunch on the crust but not burnt at all. I enjoyed it. The pie I ordered came out shortly thereafter and was just "ok" by any standard. There was certainly nothing wrong with it, but I found nothing unique about it either. Throughout the entire meal I was approached twice by two people and clearly neither of these college-aged individuals wanted to be there... In fact, one (the same man who took my order at the register) was complaining to the other about cleaning a table. She complained back to him. Clearly they didn't want to be there. When I walked in I actually wanted to be there, but by the time I was done, I, along with their front of house staff certainly did not want to be there. Also? The takeout box was so flimsy (super thin cardboard -- NOT a regular pizza pie box) I nearly dropped the thing. I can't stand it when restaurant owners get cheap and cut corners on necessary things of this sort. The only reason I didn't give one star here, is because the food wasn't terrible. **Update** the pizza pie and cheese bread do not get better overnight. I took them both home and immediately put them in the refrigerator -- I have a penchant for cold pizza pie while I watch The Today Show in the AM. I'm disappointed in this one. Pizza Hut Lover's line tastes better, if that tells you anything... The review is super close to being a "one star" as a result...

Yelp
We love the pizza at Schiano's and miss the days when we went to the restaurant and sat down and had their large salad. We love the pizza, and have come back for take out orders, supporting them during this trying time.

Brittany W.

Yelp
Ordered a large special pizza through Bite squad, with instructions of "mushrooms and olives on one side only." I thought that was sufficient to say I wanted a normal "special" pizza with everything except mushrooms and olives on one side. My boyfriend can't eat mushrooms and olives. What I get is a pizza DOUSED in olives and mushrooms on both sides... but peppers and onions on maybe 3 slices. Now I have an extra large pizza that's not what either of us wanted to eat. Manager says he will Leave a ticket with our names on it so we can come in and get a replacement. I'll let y'all know how that goes, but I'm not in the mood now.
google avatar

Taylor S.

Yelp
This place has great pizza. Picture the pizza that the teenage mutant ninja turtles ate (where the cheese on the pizza stretches as you pull away from each bite). Yum, it was delicious! I would definitely recommend this place to friends, and I'll definitely be back!

Daniel T.

Yelp
Ordered two pizzas and a salad on a Wednesday at 6:05. Called the store at 8:15 to cancel as the food had not shown up. They said that they could not refund my order because it was sent out via DoorDash and that I would have to take it up with them. Sorry, I did not order through DoorDash, that is just the company Schianos uses to deliver their food. The manager would not come to the phone, so I left my name and number for the owner to call the next day. Here it is, two days later and no return call. The food is pretty good but the customer service is absolute crap.

Go-to pizza place in forest acres. If you like lots of toppings, the super special calzone is awesome. I get a family size with every order plus a large pizza for our family if five. They don't skimp on the ricotta cheese, which is key.
