Where to Get a Passover Meal in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Former Tuck Shop and Provisions chef Adam Shiller has weathered the pandemic storm and come out with a classic Passover menu, setting the table with a traditional Seder plate kit, charoset — an apple and walnut mix meant to replicate the mortar used to build the Pyramids, but more delicious, obviously — matzo ball soup, chopped liver, and gefilte fish. Mains include single servings of brisket, lamb, or salmon. Shiller’s chocolate and caramel matzo brittle is worth waiting a year for. Order by April 10 via Instagram, for pick-up at Suite 200 of the address listed above." - Ivy Lerner-Frank

Google
Dennis, was a patient, kind and knowledgeable with my questions on repairing an old Cannon camera (which I dealy loved). I strongly recommend this place not only on camera repairs. While there I witnessed someone request an old black & white photo fixed, another person brought in a box full of old cameras they were wanting to sell and lastly I saw Kodak film for sale.

Shiller’s really stepped up when I was in a pinch. Not only did they take care of the issue, they went beyond what I expected and handed me a loaner lens to keep me rolling. That kind of service is just top-notch. So if you ever need someone who’s got your back with gear and service, swing by Shiller’s. Trust me, it’s worth the visit.

Been there several times never impressed. Last time they offered $50 for a camera people are selling closer to $1,000. In fact, we paid about $1,200 for it about a year ago used. Ripoff. We bought over $50,000 in equipment from them during Covid to support local. Then they tried to tell me that nobody's interested in full frame anymore just micro four thirds so they weren't interested in buying any of it back. Really? Mkay guy. Buy /Sell online or go somewhere else. Waste of time.

Google
Great place in St. Louis to shop around for any and all camera equipment. I have made multiple large purchases here and they are the experts in the area on all things cameras. I’ve purchased mirrorless, DSLR, and drones here. Be sure to ask them about the warranties that they offer. They also offer digital services, image recovery, and photo enlargement at their lab just next-door.

Thank you to Jim for saving the day a few weeks ago. I went in thinking I would have to send off my lens to be repaired, only to realize I had a lens filter on that had cracked (and did not need a repair after all, Yey!!) Jim was confident he could get the filter off, and after 20 minutes he was correct. He really went above and beyond to save the day for my favorite 35 mm lens! Also!! Big shout out to Dawn who patiently helped me decide which upgrades to make to my camera bag. I’m so thankful for an amazing resource in St Louis that really cares about their customers.

Google
Very helpful and knowledgeable. While I may not be able to afford great equipment they helped me like I was buying top-of-the-line equipment. While I won't need equipment for some time, I will be sending anyone I know in the real estate industry here for equipment

Honestly, I was hoping for a B&H Superstore but There Can Only Be One. Parking was not an issue and the store is inset a couple hundred feet from the street but I showed up 10 minutes before they closed. 10 to 12 others were shopping at the same time. I had to wait in line I didn't know existed to check out b-1 person deep and it wasn't my fault for cutting- I didn't know there was a line but BAM!! I think it is a good sign if you have to send customers home cuz the store is closing. Looking about the place, they sure are well stocked and omg, the history of photography atop most high shelves around the store!! Worth the free admission alone, 4sho. Film, film processing, dark room supplies, chemicals, lights, tripods, cameras, batteries, rentals, and pics of tigers, oh my!! So much more, though. Friendly, Knowledgeable staff, and the potential for add-on sales at checkout is - well, inevitable/ irresistible... SQUIRREL! Hate to drop another one-liner but 4sho: I'll Be Back

Racist and rude staff! Went in to make a purchase on my birthday. The Caucasian lady looked me and my husband in the face and did not speak. No, Hello or someone will be right with you. As she was helping a customer we were waiting patiently. The customer asked her did she need to assist us. Her response was No! I then asked for the manager and told them they just lost a sale. I guess she assumed African Americans wasn't worth helping. I refuse to spend my dollars at place that don't respect me as a race!

Yelp
... I shot some photos at family newyear then my sister printed at a local Generals store. The prints quality were not good at all. I sent the same photos to Schillers and wow, wow, wow.Everybody in our family really enjoy looking at photos . My 90 years old healthy mother keeps looking at the prints and smiles all day. Schillers is a great place. Friendly, helpfull, professional very reasonable price. I am really pround of schiller's in our community. Thank you !

Yelp
Stephanie and staff members are very professional and provide outstanding customer service. I recently had 1,950' of 16mm film and 21 video tapes converted to DVD/MP4. Schiller's did an excellent job at a reasonable price and time. If needing this service, I definitely recommend them to complete any such conversions.

Amy G.

Yelp
Incredibly knowledgeable people and incredibly speedy service (for great prices too). Couldn't recommend a place more!!

Michael P.

Yelp
Everything.Good service and personnel. Prices were reasonable and we will come again.

Yelp
Schiller's never disappoints. Friendly expert service, great equipment and quality products. You know that time of year when families gather for the holidays and the kids are all running around looking at photos displayed of them? Each year, we try to stay current. Schiller's helps us with that task. Jim, the manager, is quick to help with any questions I may have. And this year, Cooper saw I was struggling with a cropping issue using one of their 5 stations. He adeptly showed me how to improve the photo for optimal composition. While there, I picked up a couple of extra photo frames for our newly printed photos. They are presently adorning more than a few shelves in our home. We are officially ready for the annual viewing. How often we use our phones for digital pictures. There are still plenty of reasons to have printed photos displayed! Thanks to the helpful people at Schiller's for all of their help!

Yelp
It pains me to give this review. I have spent thousands of dollars per year, for many years at Schillers Camera, in both the sales and rental departments. I have been shopping there for over twenty years. I have a good relationship with many of the staff. Recently, I bought a camera bag that turned out to be too small for my needs. I went to return the bag the following week. I was told there was a missing strap from the bag. The sales agent would not process the return. The same sales rep did not show me the straps when I bought the bag. The straps we're missing when I did the purchase. The sales agent is calling me a liar. The straps were NOT in the bag when I purchased it. I would understand if I needed to pay a 20% restocking fee on a $200 bag. But to handle the transaction in this way is unprofessional and discourteous to a loyal customer. I just bought a $2,500. lens from another store, in another market. I was ready to buy the same lens at Schillers that day. Schillers just lost a long time client over a twenty dollar strap.

Laurie R.

Yelp
Great selection of new $ used cameras. Not the cheapest, but they are very knowledgeable.

Yelp
The best for film! I'm an amateur film photographer and I come to Schiller's to get rolls developed almost every week. The prints are high quality and Dropbox scans always look excellent. I think dev prices are very fair, too. Their employees have been nothing but helpful in answering my questions about film and giving advice. A lot of cool film stock available at the store as well. Happy to say I'll keep coming back!

Yelp
December, 2019 Review: Schiller's was most helpful this Christmas... our daughter wanted a photo printer for her iPhone pictures. The Schiller's staff helped me on the phone and in person... and our daughter now has a really nice Canon Selphy printer that can print photos a up to 4x6 (most others I saw are only up to 2x3). Thank you, Schiller's staff! Summer, 2019 Review: AMAZING Prints... our walls look SO NICE! We have wanted to print and hang photos on the walls in our home for some time. Once we down-selected our many photos to the ones that we did print and hang, we contacted Schiller's and we're all VERY glad we did... the prints are AMAZINGLY good... so crisp and brilliant!!! I have been capturing HD / 16x9 aspect ratio images for some time, and I wanted the prints to reflect that size (i.e. I did not want to crop any of the images). Schiller's quickly confirmed they could readily print that size (and Hobby Lobby has frames of different sizes, 9" to 27" and you can mix and match!)... and now our images from Devils Tower and Old Faithful and Kona are on the wall just as we captured them, bringing us BIG smiles from the great memories! And, of course, they print the standard photo sizes, too. Our photos look so good on our walls! The room looks so great now! The staff was friendly and helpful and our walls look great now! And flexible. No, Schiller's is not as close to home as we would like, it takes a short drive to get there... and it's worth it... they are helpful and the print quality is great. One example of their helpfulness... we had a timing issue with getting there by closing time and their manager was very cooperative working with us to make sure we still got the prints. THANK YOU for this effort! Since then, we recently entered a local photo contest... all four of us submitted two prints apiece. We used their website to submit the images, again in various sizes including the 16x9 (HD), and they look great! Whether or not any of us win anything in the contest, we do have more great images for our walls! We have a new photo printing source for our family! Thank you, Schiller's!

Yelp
Always friendly service with a smile. Nice selection of photographic equipment. This is a good place to take your camera and lenses for repair.

Yelp
It's great to have a place where you can go to get real answers from professional photographers. Their inventory is great.

Yelp
Schiller's is the best! I took a box of family photos to be digitized and I'm so impressed with the results! Now I can share photos with family near and far. Their price was reasonable and they got it done within the agreed upon timeframe. This business is a gem.

Yelp
I bought a new camera from here. I was so impressed with the store. I do not have a camera store in my local area so this store has become a favorite when headed to the area. Everyone was helpful, they even took time to help me up date software. I had been debating two cameras and appreciate the time they took to talk it out with me. I have owned my Nikon Z6II for about two months now. I'll be back at Schiller's to purchase another wish list item soon.

Yelp
The last of the professional camera stores in STL, excellent inventory, lots of staff to help you, and an in house processing lab. They stock items here no one else in STL has, 4x5 film, lots of black and white supplies and just about any lens or body you might be looking for. Some complain about the staff, but with a large staff, there are always some better than others, find that person you can connect with and go back to them. I have worked with Ray, Cooper, Doug and Jim Brooks and they are always on top of things. I think its actually a better value to buy from a local professional shop like this than to mail order, in the end, what you'll gain from great service will outweigh the short term cost savings. As a professor of photo, I have not needed to take advantage of this, but recently they have added a bunch of workshops and classes for beginners and those needing more info but reluctant to attend my university for $42,000 a year.

Yelp
Schiller's Camera has been one of my go-to camera stores for when I need equipment or film locally since I was a photo student back in 2007. Their staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating as well as knowledgeable. Rentals are easy to set up either by phone or in-person, and the staff is more than happy to go over briefly how the equipment works, test the equipment and give you pointers if you need it. I also had an old news film reel I found when my grandmother passed of my father being interviewed by the news circa 1960s. Schiller's was able to convert the film into a digital file for me so my family could watch the news clip of our father when he was in middle school! Schiller's also offers specials sometimes on sensor cleanings and lens calibrations. Sign up for their email list to receive current updates on specials and sales. If you're a professional in need a local place to get film or rent equipment, or even if you're a hobbyist looking to gain a bit of knowledge about cameras before purchasing, I recommend Schiller's Camera!

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Sven White is patient and full of good information! Very helpful in an insurance claim situation and follow-up has been above and beyond the call of duty. Used to be a customer of another St. Louis camera store, but they recently closed. Came to Schiller's as a new customer and have to say I wish I had gone to Schiller's a long time ago! Thank you for excellent service!

Yelp
This place does what I need it to - it develops my 35mm film and gives me my negatives back along with a CD of my photos. The place is generally busy and a bit chaotic. It's never clear where if there is a line and where the line is or where you're supposed to wait, so be patient.

Yelp
For years I've used another local camera store for specialty prints but they have gone out of business. Schiller's is still around and rated well so I tried it. Great service initially...greeted at the door, helped right away, was given some misinformation but the man who helped me called and corrected what he had told me. That all felt great. Today I called to see if my special order was in. I thought I was very specific in my question. Was rudely told orders don't come in on Sunday. Was told order bin empty. I told the lady that I was told it would be ready today. After holding a short time she said yes it's right here in the bin. Her tone left me feeling like I had made some sort of error and had put her out. Would have given five stars if not for that second interaction. The special order is just what I wanted. No issues at all on actual order.

Yelp
Inquired yesterday about possible camera repair. Lady was VERY unprofessional. Decided to buy a new camera instead...not from Schiller's. My thanks to the gal there for letting me know what kind of business you really are.

Yelp
St. Louis is fortunate to have such a world-class professional destination for all things photography-related. The entire staff knows their stuff, and they never steer you to any brand. They offer you helpful insights, advice, facts, and options. I recently needed a repair on a Sigma lens, and Schiller's got it fixed in less than two weeks. Cooper, Sven, Paul, Stephanie, and the entire crew know their stuff. They're all professional photographers and are industry-current, and they carry a great selection of used and new cameras, lenses, and accessories. They pretty much carry it all--Nikon, Canon, Sony, Fuji, etc. Sure, you can buy online with someone like Amazon, but you won't get excellent customer service and assistance in making a very important purchase. Plus, their prices are competitive. Support local businesses, and help Schiller's continue for another 100 years.
google avatar

Amy H.

Yelp
"LOVED BY YELP" sticker on the door. Hardly. To the Schiller empire: When employees respond to a customer's photo printing service questions with "we sell cameras", and the employees who work there say "I don't know much about the camera on the new iPhone x because I haven't played around with it much" or even better at my first visit the guy said, "we have sophisticated equipment that will outperform your home scanner", DONT BE LIKE ME AND BELIEVE THE SCHILLERISMS. I don't expect anyone to tutor me on photoshop. I don't expect to be lied to either. I've come to find out my very nice cannon scanner could have scanned my photo and avoided the nonsense and expense I incurred. If you have a project where you're enlarging to enormous sizes, don't go here. Royal rip off.

Yelp
Worked with the photo lab to have family photos digitized. We were in somewhat of a time crunch as we were creating a movie for our mom's birthday. The photo lab did an outstanding job with the pictures (over 1,000!) and got them back to us within the needed timeframe. Forever grateful for their hard work and would recommend them over and over. Thank you!

Dennis L.

Yelp
Bought a tri-pod from them in March. In June I had a problem with the tri-pod, brought back to them and they gave me a brand new one no questions. Great people and friendly service.
google avatar

Sam Z.

Yelp
Without a doubt the best camera store in St. Louis. I've been getting film developed here for years and the quality and price can't be beat. They get you expert quality prints back by the next day and the staff are always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
google avatar

Amanda Z.

Yelp
Ok, sometimes you have to wait 5 minutes to get service, but once you get service at Schiller's you understand why it took them so long. I have never had anything but amazing service at Schiller's. Perhaps I have just been lucky, but I have been coming here for years, and I have never had anything but perfect service. For example, once I was trying to get my digital pictures off a cd to print out. For some reason, the cd was not working, so one of the workers took me in the back and hacked and hacked and hacked away on his computer until he finally the cd working, uploaded the pictures into the system, and then they printed them for free because of my troubles. That's incredibly nice and honestly, not any kind of service I have ever received when getting my pictures printed at Walgreen's. Also, whenever you buy a camera from Schiller's you get 30 free prints a month for a solid year. This is an awfully nice touch as well. Schiller's is more than just a place to print your digital pictures though. They are hands down, the best photography store in the city. They have everything from photo paper to film to manual cameras (believe it or not these still exists) to rentable lighting equipment. If there's some kind of photography tool you need, this is easily the place you need to go. Be careful when you pull into the parking lot though. Like all great establishments along this stretch of Manchester, that weird divet on the side of the road will bottom out your car if you take it too fast...beware.

Yelp
Awhile back, I purchased a Sony mirrorless camera and slowly stopped using my Nikon DSLR. Though I actually prefer my Nikon, I found it and all its gear just too bulky when traveling. And I really only use my mirrorless and DSLR cameras when traveling, so the compact Sony camera won. A few months later, I found out that Schiller's buys used camera equipment in good condition. As I had no real emotional attachment to my Nikon, I decided to visit Schiller's to see what I could get for it. Lo and behold, I was offered $430 for my gently-used camera, 3 lens, and a speedlight flash which I thought was more than fair. 10 minutes later, they cut me a check and I was on my way. If you're coming here to peruse camera gear, their selection is second to none! New, used, vintage SLR, DSLR, mirrorless, you name it. Their service is very comprehensive so the only negative may be that you may end up waiting awhile... and there's no clear queuing system. Otherwise, Schiller's is tops within their niche!
google avatar

Christine W.

Yelp
I haven't bought anything major here, but from my times visiting the store, I'm really impressed at the level of professional and personal service. I bought a new neck strap and a light sphere for my speedlight as well as rented a 70-200 mm lens. Each time I came in, there were several employees on the floor helping customers, I was greeted, and offered assistance usually fairly quickly. There's an older gentleman (Jim, I think), maybe the store manager, who I've seen most times I've been, who is especially helpful. My experience renting the lens from them was awesome! I made the reservation a few months in advance (I needed the lens to shoot a wedding and wanted to make sure it was available). I paid for one day (Saturday) and was able to pick up on Friday and drop it off on Monday, essentially getting almost 3 days out of it! It's a lens that I wouldn't buy because it's more expensive and I wouldn't use it often. However, I would consider renting it again if I had to do another wedding; it really helped increase the quality of both the ceremony and reception photos I shot earlier this month. They will put a hold on your credit card for the full amount of the lens (that isn't charged) until you return it, but they only do it the first time you rent from them. I'd definitely come back to Schiller's for any sort of equipment question and to check out their used lenses, too!

Audie D.

Yelp
My previous, review was 2 stars. This was due, to what I perceived as impatient, and intimidating behavior of some of the store associates. Robb, the business manager, invited me to contact him. I did. I detailed my experience, via e-mail. I few days later, I received an apology. He stated that he had spoken to the employees involved. I still feel, a general attitude adjustment is needed at Schiller's. But, in today's culture, it is encouraging to have a business manager- respond, apologize, and correct employee behavior. This, was very appreciated.

Andrew K.

Yelp
Staff is very helpful, especially the young skinny guy (I think he wears glasses I can remember) he's a joy to talk to about film. However if you're looking to sell cameras/gear I would just go through the trouble of selling on eBay. And if you need camera repair on rare or obscure cameras it's not worth it. They will consistently value cameras at an eighth of there actual value. Over all a great location though

Andrew M.

Yelp
No one beats the customer service and inventory of Schillers! St Louis' finest camera store.

J W.

Yelp
I walked into Schiller's as a novice and told the salesperson ALL about the project and said please show me what I need. He sold me a camcorder, microphone and tripod. Camcorder didn't shoot well outside and the mic was too heavy for tripod. Laid camcorder down because of the heaviness the screen fell onto the cord adapter and cracked inside. Of course, I'm stuck with it because the salesperson DIDN'T OFFER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, which I would have bought since I was already at $500. Manager was cold and short so I returned all that I could and I will never go back.

Yelp
First off let me say this i have been a faithful customer for over 2yrs sometimes renting a lens weekly for months at a time and the customer service has always been A+.... Cooper and Stephanie have been taking care of me for years and they are truly the reason why I will never go anywhere else. If your an expert or just starting out this is the place for you!!! The family and friendly atmosphere is the best in the city and the team of experts are there to help you every step of the way...Also cant forget my buds Ed and Jim....

Yelp
I was in the market for my big girl camera upgrade - a beginner level D-SLR. I began doing a little research online and, of course, asked my wedding/family photographer for recommendations. The most important tip she gave me - "Go to Schiller's. Buy local. You won't regret it." And I haven't! The people at Schiller's are very knowledgeable about their products, because most of them are or were professionals in the field. I've been there a few times now, and the folks are always happy to answer questions, get the products in your hands, and offer helpful advice. When I purchased my camera, they were happy to put it together for me and walk me through the basic functions to get me started. My D-SLR purchase got me a free Introduction course which was beyond my expectations (I was fearful it was going to be at a "Here's where you turn it on. This is how you delete a picture."), and I look forward to taking more from their fairly extensive curriculum. I also get 25 free 4x6 prints every month for a year. The prices are competitive with the rest of the market, and believe me, I took note. The big box retailers had the camera I chose for the same price but with a memory card with purchase. I'd say the class and prints already make my purchase a better deal, but I also get the support Schiller's offers and the warm fuzzies that come with purchasing from a local company. So I leave you with the same advice I was given. Go to Schiller's. You won't regret it.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
I have been to Schiller's several times, and each time I have had some difficulty getting some help, however usually after a minute someone come out to help and they are always friendly. My first time was to sell a Canon SLR Lens, and I have to admit that the offer that Schiller's agave me was higher than Creve Coeur Camera, and the offer was for either in store credit or cash. CCC only wanted to offer me in store credit. The staff is very knowledgable here, and know their stuff. The selection here is great, but they also offer a large selection of used cameras and lenses, at very reasonable prices.
google avatar

Paige L.

Yelp
We called Schillers to ask if we could get our camera sensor cleaned while we waited. My husband is a professional photographer and needed his primary camera cleaned. He explained that we live 2 hours away but had to get this done without sending it off. When we arrived there had been a miscommunication and the guy told us that we had been quoted the wrong price and they could not honor what we had been told. We left upset but shortly after that got a message from the manager saying that they would indeed honor what we had been quoted even though it was a mistake. He was incredible and has definitely earned a new client!! Great customer service isn't about getting it right all the time as much as making it right when things go wrong.
google avatar

Greg M.

Yelp
I took my camera in for cleaning and it was ready earlier than promised. Staff were very helpful in answering questions. They have some great lenses for rent too. I'll be back.

Olivia L.

Yelp
I've gone back to Schiller's repeatedly and they have been SO kind and SO patient. I'm new to the camera world and they've been extremely patient and helpful. Definitely recommend!

Lisa S.

Yelp
Update: Rob from Schiller's tracked down my telephone number and called me about my experience. He went out of his way to make it right and tried to find the shutter count for the used camera I am interested in. I appreciate that he took the time to look me up and call me to correct the poor experience I had. I will continue to show my support to local businesses when they go out of their way, like Rob did, to improve customer service. For that reason I am updating my review rating for Schiller's. I have mixed emotions about Schillers. A couple of employees are very helpful and nice. I'm interested in a used camera they have so I call up and ask for the shutter count and the response is "I can't find that out," what? It's pretty simple to get the shutter count and who in their right mind would buy a used camera without knowing the shutter count? Pretty much done with Schillers at this point.

Yelp
I finally bought something here and It was definitely a pleasant experience. A few years ago I stopped in here with friend who was buying film. I asked one of the salesman about a problem I was having with my camcorder. Even though I wasn't there to buy anything for myself, he still spent some time to help me out and gave me info on where to send my camcorder to get fixed by Canon. That is when I knew I'd be back to Schiller's if I ever wanted to buy a new camera. Last week I stopped in to see what my options were. A fellow named Brad asked me if I needed help. He was very helpful and patient with me. He answered all of my questions and helped me narrow down the selection. There were three that I was interested in so he wrote the brand and models down on his business card. He probably expected that I would buy one for cheaper on the internet but that was out of the question. I did some research on the cameras and decided on one of them. A few days later I returned but Brad was busy with another customer. Some other gentlemen that worked there helped me out until Brad was done with the other customer. The camera I purchased was about $60 more at Schiller's than on the internet but the customer service was totally worth it for me. The extra battery and memory card put the price a bit above what I wanted to spend but then Brad told me since I bought the camera there, I get 25 free prints every month for a year. That was totally worth spending the extra dough on an extra battery and then he even threw in a little camera case! What a guy! Schiller's seems to have a great selection of cameras and camera equipment. The one gentleman that helped me for a minute was a little awkward to deal with and my friend said he had a little bit of difficulty with customer service. Brad and the guy who helped me with my camcorder were great to deal with so I guess it all depends on which employee is helping you. I definitely recommend giving Schiller's a chance. I'm a huge fan of supporting local businesses, even if you are dead set on buying from a big chain store or on the internet, at least stop in and see what they have and what there prices are.

Yelp
Every time I go to Schiller's I get nothing but A+++ service. I was in last year interested in stepping up my photography game from my simple yet useful Sony-DSH9 to a Canon Rebel T5i. I decided I wanted to learn about photography and wanted to get a camera that I could grow with. So I decided to check out Schiller's and spoke to a gentleman by the name of Brad. He was simply amazing and patient with answering my questions about the camera. After asking me some questions he recommended the Canon 70D and after doing more research on the model I decided it was definitely for me. So this past January I finally had my camera. I originally received it from Sam's Club but didn't open it because I wanted to know what type of deal that Schiller's was offering. So I looked on their website and saw their lens package was better than Sam's not to mention they also offered a better warranty package, and include a free beginner class when you purchase a camera through them. So I went to Schillers and spoke to another salesman, who was just a great as Brad. I bought the camera after making sure all of my questions were answered and I was satisfied. I also bought some accessories and returned the other camera back to Sam's. Since then I have also been back to buy a messenger style camera bag, a lightbox, and a tripod. I also took my introductory camera class. The service is nothing but wonderful and I highly recommend them.

Yelp
Mostly specialize in Nikon/Canon. Super friendly & helpful staff. I went in to check out an Olympus and Brad asked what I liked about it, listened to me rattle off my laundry list of desirable features and steered me towards another model "just to consider" - needless to say the model (Nikon J 1) was way better, had even more likable features like a super fast focus and shutter and was more in my price range. Schillers was SO helpful that I actually ended up going home, thinking it over some more and buying the J1.

Yelp
I came back to Schillers a few days ago for their 'Intro to DSLR' class. It was only 25 bucks, so I figured it was worth a visit. I walked into Schiller's, and after a few minutes of trying to get someone's attention (seriously, the people working here have major attitude!), I was finally pointed in the direction of the classroom. It's a moderately sized room with chairs that are WAY too close together. My word of advice? Sit on an end seat so you can have the option to give yourself some elbow room. I sat in a middle chair and felt extremely uncomfortable the entire time as a result. My arms were literally touching the people to my left and right. Awkward! Anyway, the class. It was taught by a Schiller's employee (his name escapes me now), and it was pretty good. It was a powerpoint presentation, and he also handed out some literature to take home. He ran out, so only about 3/4 of the class received it. Get there early. The class itself lasted about 2 hours, and was very informative. I learned a lot of things about my DSLR that I would have never figured out on my own. The instructor paused for questions during the presentation, and he stayed afterwards to answer questions as well. My only complaint is that he didn't delve deeper into certain subjects, but for 25 bucks and 2 hours, what do you expect?

Yelp
Great experience for a first time customer! My fiance and I walked in and was greeted. I'm so glad there were so many employees there to help because the store can be a bit overwhelming because they have so many products!! We were greeted by Jay who was very professional, honest, and funny! He made the experience a great and comfortable first time! I appreciate all the input and direction he gave on my goal with a camera. If you're looking for a camera, accessories, classes or photos developed, I would lead you in the direction of this great company for a great, honest, and professional experience! They will sell you anything you want, but they'll also be extremely honest with you on what you'll get!

Yelp
The best at developing disposable cameras. I've never seen/heard of a company being able to develop them within a day and scan it so continently right to your email.

Yelp
Schiller's Camera is like a candy store for me. :) Being a hobby photographer, I am always on the lookout for advice and good deals on equipment. Schiller's also has a lot of used equipment and a rental program which I plan on using soon. There are many people who work here and everyone I've spoken with has been nothing but VERY informative and helpful. They LOVE cameras and love to share their knowledge w/ you. I've never had any problem w/ getting service, but I'm a person who will go and seek out a salesperson. Whenever I go there I make sure to visit with Ray if I have any questions or need advice. He's always very helpful!

Yelp
Great staff, very large selection of nice camera gear, very clean and well organized store. The lady who assisted me was extremely helpful and nice. Staff is very knowledgeable and patient (I took a while deciding between lenses). I wish this store was closer to where I live. I called ahead of time and they answered immediately giving me the information that I needed. 8/8 it's gr8

Yelp
All in all, I'm not too impressed with this place. I needed one thing for a school project and the store is almost a twenty minute drive from campus. I decided to call the store to make sure they had it. However, when I called, the person who picked up the phone gave me the most unhelpful answer. He said dry mount tissue was something they should have but didn't know if the store currently stocked it. In his defense, he did let me know the reason he couldn't help was because the store was busy and the workers had their hands tied. So, I took the gamble and drove down there. The staff was extremely attentive, helpful, and efficient. I think we were in and out of the store within a few minutes. While I would definitely recommend this place if you need something photography related, my only hesitation was the lack of help over the phone.
