Beautiful location looking out over fields. Perfect place for dinner on a hot summer evening

We had the most amazing stay at this hotel! Relaxing and beautiful atmosphere and the service was superb! Everything we ate at the restaurant was delicious and tasted fresh. The breakfast every morning was delicious. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. I would highly recommend this place! It was a dream!

The food gains "100of100" points, however if the service is a poor as it was, this place only hardly deserves our second visit or a further recommendation... We just felt like being a "glas customers", 50Minutes waiting time between the starter and the main dish; 40Minutes waiting between the main dish a dessert, the wine glass empty no chance to get some more... Once leaving, no interest at all whether all was fine and whether we liked it... It is a big pity for such a nice place... Good luck for the future!!!

The Schlegelhof in the Dreisamtal, the very entry to the Black Forest, certainly features the most spectacular and elegant, yet cozy restaurant garden of any of the good places in the greater Freiburg area. Talking about scenic! Martin Schlegels family run hotel and restaurant is a place for excellent Badische fare and mediterranen cooking, without showy additions. His Schnitzels and his fries are almost legendary, at the same time he has made a name for his fresh fish dishes as well. The wine list is nothing short of outstanding, try some hidden treasures of Badische and German gems. The excellent service completes a memorable visit to this friendly, family orientated place in just a most beautiful location!

The hotel called and cancelled our reservation the night before we were due to check-in. We were attending a wedding a short distance from the hotel so we then had to find another hotel to book at short notice and drive to and from the wedding rather than walking. I couldn't recommend booking this hotel as you have no idea if they will honour the reservation or not. Very poor service.
