Schlosshotel Restaurant Chastè

This review is for the restaurant. We had the autumn lunch menu, the food was amazing, you can tell the ingredients are of high quality, the chef is definitely talented. I haven’t had such a good meal in Switzerland before. The price was very reasonable as well. The service was impeccable and the interior is beautiful. We are so happy. Definitely worth a trip here and to explore the beautiful surrounding in Tarasp!

Nestled in one of the most naturally beautiful places I’ve ever visited, Schloss Hotel is truly special—not just for its thoughtfully designed details, but for the genuine warmth and care of the family and staff who run it. From the moment we arrived, we felt like guests in their home, warmly welcomed and indulged with some of the most delicious culinary delights. Gian seems to have endless energy, effortlessly managing each day with calm and grace—it's clear this is his true passion. I feel so lucky to have discovered this memorable inn.

This was our third visit to Schlosshotel Chaste and it was just as lovely as we had remembered it to be. The beautiful and serene location, the charming rooms, delicious food at both breakfast and dinner, and the warmth of the owners and staff make this one of our very favorite places to stay in Europe. What could be more special than to wake up to the sweet sound of cowbells each morning while looking out at a spectacular castle surrounded by beautiful snowcapped mountains. It is also in the perfect location to visit some of the very charming towns in the area. We look forward to returning one day and until that time, we have many wonderful memories!

This is the type of property and place you hope to find on your travels. Tucked away in a section of the Dolomites and Alps not on the international travel circuit, Tarasp is a tiny hamlet with views of the mountains and a 1,000 year old castle. It is in the Endagine valley in the eastern edge of Switzerland, adjacent to Italy and Austria...one of the few regions in the world where they speak Romansh. The current manager is part of the 22nd generation of a family that has lived on the property over the last 500 years. The owners are eager to share ideas for how to enjoy the area. Guests get free passes to explore the mountains and trails by chairlifts and the nearby regional center and other small towns by convenient bus. There are also excellent walking trails from the hotel. This is one of the coziest hotels you will ever find and most food offerings are outstanding. For those seeking perfect five-star comfort expect clean and spacious rooms, remodeled baths and flowers out your door, but OK beds and flies (no screens or AC). But decide to experience the luxury country life, and you won't regret it. Our next stop was Lake Como and the drive there past St Moritz and through the mountain pass to Italy, was one of the most scenic ones of our lives.

JUST DREAMY! Me and my husband stayed at the hotel to celebrate our first year of marriage. The hotel is simply dreamy. It’s 500 years old and in PERFECT conditions. From the inside it looks like a castle made out of sculptured wood with many things that bring you back in time like old telephones, a piano and picture of the owning family. Decoration of the rooms are simple but charmy and elegant. It really looks like the picture on the website. The room is huge. The service COULD NOT BE BETTER. They made us feel like part of their family and really made us feel the warmth of how it would be to live in a castle and be served like royalty. The food in the restaurant was great, the massage was also very relaxing and the sauna is special. Everything about this place was spotless. I highly recommend this experience and the room to any couples. I think it could really boost anyone’s relationship. Just lovely. Had the best time. Thank you very much!

The most amazing welcome we ever got in a hotel! This was our second stay and the quality of service, the room and the restaurant (we had dinner and breakfast) were all perfect. The breakfast remains top notch.|This hotel should get a 5th star!

Unique little hotel with exquisite food, heart-warming service and very generous rooms. We loved our stay here. As a family with 2 strong-willed toddlers it's not always easy to feel at ease in posher hotels. This one, however, was just an extremely lucky find! Gian, the owner, does anything to make you feel at home. And also his parents and all the restaurant staff go beyond what is expected - they even opened the kitchen 30min earlier to feed our kids. And to top things off, the owner gave us a calming sauna-infusion at the end of a long day... Thanks so much!
