From the moment we arrived at Schlosswirt Frost, we knew we were in for something special. Nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Trentino-South Tyrol, this charming establishment offers an experience that transcends mere dining – it's a true immersion in South Tyrolean hospitality and culinary excellence.
The highlight for us, beyond the truly exceptional food, was the outside garden. To call the views "unbelievable" is an understatement. We were treated to panoramic vistas of rolling hills, lush vineyards, and majestic peaks, all bathed in the golden glow of the evening sun. Dining in such a serene and picturesque setting felt like a dream.
The service, too, was simply outstanding. Every member of the team was personable and very friendly, making us feel genuinely welcome and attended to without being intrusive. Their warmth and attentiveness added another layer of enjoyment to an already perfect evening.
And then, the food. Oh, the food! Every dish was a testament to quality ingredients and expert preparation. Our culinary journey began with the bread service, which was a delightful prelude to the meal to come.
The risotto with chanterelle mushrooms was a revelation – creamy, earthy, and bursting with the delicate flavor of fresh foraged mushrooms. It was comfort and sophistication in one perfect bite.
For our main course, the veal schnitzel was an absolute triumph. It was perfectly crisp and tender, and the homemade lingonberry sauce provided a delightful tart counterpoint that elevated the dish to new heights.
