I recently moved back from Spain and have been coming to Schnitzels for a few months now and I am thoroughly impressed every time. The staff is beyond friendly and makes me feel at home whenever I come. The decor is so European and brings me home each time. My favorite dishes are the wurst platter, the wiener schnitzel and the apple strudel. I have introduced all of my neighbors there as well. I recently discovered they have music bingo on Monday nights and that made everything better. We had the best time singing and dancing along with the host Casey. if you haven’t been here, you are missing out. Truly a hidden gem right in Stony Brook Village.

I had the absolute best time at Schnitzels for their karaoke brunch. Everyone was in ugly sweaters, singing, dancing, drinking, and eating seriously delicious brunch food, the energy was just so fun. We ended up moving over to the bar afterward because the staff was amazing. They were so welcoming and genuinely fun to hang out with that we felt like part of the crew by the end of it. I’d recommend this place to anyone in the area. This was my first visit and it has already become my favorite restaurant on Long Island. Truly such a great experience.

I had an incredible experience at Schnitzels. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated right away. The menu has so many unique options, and everything we ordered was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The drinks were just as impressive, with plenty of choices and excellent presentation. We happened to come on a night with live music, which really made the evening special without being too loud to enjoy conversation. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly cared about making sure we had a great time. It’s rare to find a place that nails food, drinks, and atmosphere all at once, but Schnitzels does exactly that. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.

I take my chicken wings very seriously, and the wings at schnitzels are my favorite in town. I love coming here for events (like Monday trivia) to just have some beers and appetizers at the bar. The staff and atmosphere always makes me feel at home. Highly recommend to any locals to check it out if you haven’t already!

We had a wonderful dinner tonight at Schniztels! What a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was all prepared with care and very fresh tasting. We had the shrimp casino special which was so flavorful, and I got the pork shank which the server said was a staple item. It was fried crisp but tender and soft inside. My wife had the chicken Schniztel which was light and fried perfectly paired with a creamy rahm sauce. We will definitely be back soon.

Uuuuhhg I hate writing negative reviews but this experience was ridiculous. Simple. I called in an order for a pastrami sandwich and cup of onion soup. I picked it up. No sweat. Got it home, opened my hard earned dinner, and REALLY??? When you think of a NY pastrami sammi you think you’ll bite into some MEAT. There was no more than 4 thin slices on a burnt tasting roll. It was awful and I felt insulted by a sandwich. The soup was good except for the solid glop of cheese. Sadly, I will never come back and I’m a local.

The best place to go!! Great staff, food and drinks and atmosphere. Bingo Mondays are a must and they always have fun events going on. Strongly suggested

I had such a great experience here! The staff was friendly and welcoming, right when I walked in and I enjoyed everything from the beginning. You can really tell they care about their customers. It was very clean organized and had an amazing atmosphere my friends and I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to bring my family and my grandchildren back here

Food and drinks are outstanding and service amazing. Feels like a little bit of Germany in the heart of Stony Brook. We were also treated to music bingo which was led by Jason, he made it a fun night for all. His music playlist was awesome!!!! Would definitely go back!!!

Place is in a strip mall with lots of parking. Inside large bar and some nice seating. Food our group enjoyed their pork and veal schnitzel dishes with veggies and Spitzer. I had pork loin in a nice sauce. Service was good, with servers bringing your food and waitress takes your order and checks on you. Nice wine and craft beer selections. Mostly German style beers but a nice pumpkin. Would return again

Cute restaurant located in a small strip mall area. We started with the potato pancakes that was a nice size enough for 2 . Served with a nice apple butter to dip. My fellow dinner had the loaded potato soup served with a nice bread stick to dip into the soup . He said it was delicious and hearty. We each had a signature dish schnitzel and felt the schnitzel was a tad dry .They had been there before and said it was great but maybe today it was just something off . Red cabbage was tasty , fresh vegetables really good and the Spätzle was plain as it usually is in general . Great specials and menu options, just think the food could have been slightly better, but would give it another try.

The food and atmosphere is absolutely incredible! The owners are very personable, friendly, kind and humble. They work hard & you will see the owners serving on floor, behind the bar serving drinks, or in the kitchen helping. This establishment felt like home to me and I felt so welcomed. The food is absolutely incredible! Brought me back to my German roots, to the days when I would sit with my nana and Oma eating brat together with pumpernickel bread as a child. I had ordered to loaded potato soup which blew me away! The cheese pull was insane and the chunks of bacon, brat & potatoes all complimented with flavor. This is honestly one of the best German restaurants I have ever gone to! You will not be disappointed with the ambiance, the food, & friendly fun service! Trust me when I say, the food is authentic. I also ordered the brat plate appetizer with a side of buttered pumpernickel bread. As well as the potato pancakes. Every item is so fresh, so good. I was blown away and it brought happy tears to my eyes to have a taste of home. Come on down and check this place out for some Oktoberfest specials and stein! Cheers!

What a disappointment. Food was incredibly BLAND! The only good thing in our meal was the cheese curds we had for appetizer. Service was so odd, she asked if we needed a jox while We were still eating out food. My drink was empty by the time I was done with apps, she never refilled my glass again. The fish a S chips was gross! Like smell bad kinda gross. If you wants appetizers and drinks, give it a try. If not try another place.

Came here to celebrate my dear friend's bday. I would come back just for those German pancakes ; those pancakes were the show stopper for me. Love the ambiance and service as well. Could be a cool place to kick off Octoberfest for sure !! Love SB village they always have great dinner spots.

I've come here for lunch, dinner, and trivia. The service is excellent. I've had their wurst platter a few times. The Ferris wheel is fun. It comes with pretzel bites, mini pretzel dogs, fried pickles, fried cheese curds, fries, and schmand sauce. Anything with the schmand sauce is to die for. I love the fried cheese curds with schmand sauce from here. There are lots of beer on tap and the last time we went, they had a beer special that came with a pint glass you could take home. There are also plenty of desserts to choose from here. Parking is shared with nearby shops, such as Madison's Niche and Ann Taylor. It is a nice little area to shop in before dinner. Trivia night is excellent here. It is $5 to play and teams of 4. The person who runs it does a great job and everyone has to put their phones into paper bags.

This place is OUTSTANDING!! It's a small place, so we sat at the bar. My husband got The King Schnitzi Platter. Never had such a tender Pork Shank! Everything on the plate was outstanding. I got a Burger which was cooked perfect. You have to check out this place. We live in Hicksville and will be coming out often.

I can't recommend Schnitzels enough! Awesome ambiance, phenomenal service, huge portions and delicious food. The schnitz sandwich is a 10/10. Came in on a thursday night around 5:30 pm and by 6 every table was taken. Not surprised after trying the food! The menu is HUGE and has a wide variety of options. I can't wait to go back.

Cozy Taste of Germany at Schnitzels! Tucked away in quite a charming Stony Brook, Schnitzels is a small restaurant serving good Getman food. While it may not be the most high-end or traditional German restaurant around, it serves fresh ingredients, has an inviting atmosphere, and genuinely great service. The space itself is small but thoughtfully decorated, rustic, cozy, and a nice homestyle vibe. The menu sticks to the classics - hearty schnitzels, sausages, potato sides, fried pickles, red cabbage, spatzle, and much more! The food appears to be cooked fresh, dishes are tasty, well-prepared, and satisfying. Beer is great! Zicke Zacke Hoi Hoi Hoi!! Prost! The staff are attentive, friendly, and eager to make your experience enjoyable. One slight negative note is that they are a little disorganized when it comes to wait times. I've been here at times being quoted a 20 min wait which turned into a 45min wait. And on the other side of things was quoted a 15 minute wait, which turned into a five minute wait lol. Overall, If you're looking for a relaxed, no-fuss place to enjoy some good German comfort food, Schnitzels is absolutely worth a visit. This place is part of the rotation for us and friends.

Schnitzels in Stony Brook is a great place to have dinner. Last night I had the steak sandwich; it was delicious. Their Fish and Chips are perfectly cooked, and the pastrami sandwich is incredible. In fact, everything I tried over the past few months has been great. One of my favorite apps is the Giant Pretzel that you can share. It comes out on a wheel with all different toppings. Since the portions are generous, I always bring home a piece of German Chocolate Cake and Black Forest Cake to have the next day. The service was perfect. Our waitress was attentive and quickly brought our drinks and food. We were there for trivia last night. My group always has a great time. And much to our surprise, we actually won! Schnitzels is the perfect place to have a good meal with friends. I highly recommend it!

I now have gone here for breakfast and dinner, they serve breakfast on weekends. And there was zero wait. The food and serve each time I have been has been great. I definitely will be going back over and over!

Our friends took me and my husband to this place and it's just what we needed for lunch. If you're craving schnitzel done right, this spot delivers. The food was absolutely delicious--crispy, perfectly seasoned schnitzel that hit the spot. We had 1 chicken and 1 pork. Plates were pretty big and well served! The ambiance was super cute and cozy, with just the right mix of charm and character. Bonus points for the beer served in a boot--such a fun touch that made the whole experience even more memorable. Whether you're a schnitzel fan or just looking for a fun place with great vibes, this place is worth the visit!

Great experience. The only downside is they don't take reservations. We got here and waited about 20 minutes for the table to open up. There was space at the bar so we took a full advantage to get a drink and some appetizers. The sausage wurst platter was great! It comes with four different sausages, mustard, two types or cabbages and pretzel bites. The fried pickles is a memorable mention. And the beer is to die for. The mains did not disappoint as well. We got beef goulash (totally delicious) and he blacked chicken platter. I can honestly say both have been a delicious addition to our routine. Thanks do the hospitable staff and yummy food, we leave very happy customers.

Overall, the experience was very nice. Right off the bat, the hostess and waitress were extremely friendly and welcoming. It is a smaller space decorated nicely with German themed items (which I know is a bit obvious), but it wasn't overbearing. They have a nice selection of beers (although I am not a beer drinker, my dining companions were). Food, overall, the selection was nice. We ordered the sweet flatbread (blue cheese, caramelized onions, bacon, and chopped green apple), the Reuben, the fancy chicken wrap, and a farm salad with added salmon. The flatbread - tasty and the flavors worked really well together, just wish the bread was toasted a little more. The wrap & the Reuben - no complaints. Only think to note, is the sandwiches come with potato salad and a pickle, which the upcharge is $3 to get a small portion of fries instead... The salad - like others have said, the salmon was a bit dry. It looked nice on the outside, but the person eating it said it was probably cooked about a minute too long. Would definitely come back!

Weird turn of events led to a last minute date night. Wound up here on a whim. It was perfect. Great atmosphere. Friendly people. Food was outstanding. Completely grenaded my diet and well worth it.

Spectacular.....give me 14 of them right now. The food was everything you would want. It was a good temperature, the flavor was great and the portions were perfect. They have a number of sampler type options which give you a bunch of different things in one order. If you're looking for German food in Suffolk, this place should be on your list! They have a Beer Punch which was amazing. It was beer, mango puree, rum and some other things and I could have drank a whole boot of it. They actually have the glass boots that you can order your beer in. The seating area is not very big but the bar has ample seating. The service was good. We were seated almost immediately and everything came timely. This place will be on the list for more regular visits!

Busy Friday night. Wait time was 40 minutes which was ok as there were a few small shops nearby. Hostess was welcoming and actually called me when table was ready. Wait staff were friendly and efficient. I couldn't resist getting the sauerbraten dinner and it didn't disappoint. Melt in your mouth beef, delicious red cabbage and mashed potatoes with gravy and mixed veggies that were al dente. If I lived in the area I'd frequent this place for sure.

Food is great but the potato salad...on another level! Make it a place to go and you won't be disappointed.

Schnitzels is always my go to place. My boyfriend absolutely loved the rahmschnitzel and I always get the eggplant pesto sandwich. Last time we went, Lou made us a watermelon martini and my boyfriend got an espresso martini. They were excellent. The staff is always extremely welcoming as well and I always feel comfortable and right at home when I go. I recommend this place to all of my friends and clients. I am looking forward to the Oktoberfest events and next Trivia night. Definitely reccomend 10/10

Very nice find in Stony Brook, close to Post Office. Small Wood- paneled room; very friendly and efficient service. Main menu has lots of standards but also German dishes not found elsewhere. Specials daily. Nice selection of draft beers too. Wunderbar!

My family are frequent patrons at Schnitzels. We always enjoy and devour the scrumptious daily specials. Our favorites include chicken schnitzel caesar wrap, the amazing pretzel bites with beer cheese and the berlin.. so many more! The atmosphere is family oriented and the staff is so attentive and friendly. I highly recommend you check it out! Cheers!

I love this place! The food is delicious--very filling, so I took more than half home. I also loved the Dunkel beer on tap. The server was friendly & efficient, and she had a great sense of humor. A reliably good restaurant owned and operated by some very cool and kind people. Best of all is the atmosphere--great friends from the area got together for karaoke bingo--hilarious! And who cares if I sang off key? Nobody--it was a hoot!

This spot gets the fundamentals perfectly right. The atmosphere stays positive throughout. The rates are sensible and food quality is high. We were greeted professionally by attentive staff. Delicious cooking and helpful service.

Food was average and I think the name is a bit misleading. This is not a true German restaurant. The apple pancakes were overdone, the Bratwurst didn't have much flavor and the roll was a supermarket hot dog bun. Fries were an up-charge. Not much on Ambience. The beer was good. One and done.

This place is a great addition to the town. Good food, good service, good beer. Live music was a plus. The only downside was you can't get in here because it's so popular.

I was in Germany last summer and man do I miss having a proper German beer on tap. Now that the holidays are behind us, I met my wife at Schnitzels after work on Friday. We walked in and I see a long bar with some crazy German beers on tap. This space used to be a deli?? Now its a small German pub serving beer and pub food. We give our cell number to the hostess stand and wait on a table to be free. I ordered a Hofbräu on tap while reading the menu. The menu is substantial with lots of German delicacies. Did I say lots of German beers on tap? This is a huge selling point. The menu says potato pancakes but I know this dish as Kartoffelpuffer. It is small fried pancake made from potatoes, egg, and flour. The chef used the food processor on the potatoes and made them very creamy. The potato pancakes were served with apple butter. Crispy breaded pork cutlets served with rich mushroom gravy - that's Jägerschnitzel. And it's one of Germany's most popular and delicious foods. Jägerschnitzel is on the menu with Pork or Chicken. I ordered a Pork Jägerschnitzel and my wife ordered a chicken Jägerschnitzel. The trick is, order the gravy on the side! The mushroom gravy will make the cutlet soggy, that's a Bill S Pro tip for ya! The Jägerschnitzel was cooked perfectly and I loved the root vegetables on the side. This dish also came with Red Cabbage, truly a great meal in my little village of Stony Brook. A few months ago, I went to Zum Stammitsch in Queens with my in laws. Do you know what a pain in the ass it is to go to Queens from Stony Brook? Trust me, Schnitzels is a very good spot for German food and a welcomed addition to the neighborhood.

Get a DoorDash the guy was so rude. I guess the tip wasn't good enough for him, but I was missing my pomme frites and DoorDash gave me a hard time to get my money back for that. Please check your bags. Make sure that what people pay for you give them. Thanks so much. The dogs were delicious.

Great place for a nice German meal. Had the Wienerschnitzel with a Hofbrau Original and my wife had the schnitzel salad with pretzel croutons and pecans. Nice service by Storm and friends crowd.

I though our first visit to Schnitzel's was fantastic. We so needed a place like this around here! When we arrived we had to wait a little for a table as it is first come first serve, but it was well worth the wait! Our young lively server was very friendly and suggestive of dishes to try. They had a small selection of German beer on tap and most importantly they had Hofbrau original. We waited quite a bit for our beer but it was really busy. I thought the food here was really good and had a homecooked taste to it but all dishes tasted like low-sodium - which isn't a bad thing. We definitely had to add additional salt to our meals. Sauerbraten was delicious. The atmosphere was real cozy and was reminiscent of a German pub you might find in Bavaria. Our only real disappointment about Schnitzel's is that they only serve wine and beer - which is great, but we were really looking forward to having Jägermeisters to start our party! Oh well, du kannst nicht alles haben! We really hope Schnitzel's last along time and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

My time at schnitzels was delicious! all the workers are all kind and friendly. The food I had was the buffalo chicken wrap, it was so delicious I will be coming back!!

Just left schnitzels, live music was such a vibe. Even sat outside and enjoyed a Hefeweizen which are not easy beers to come by. Finished it off at the bar and had the Jaeger Burger, which was 10/10. The servers were very attentive, you can see the strong team and work ethic they all have. Will definitely be returning and recommending!

Overall a solid place! I really like getting a liter of quality German Lager and sitting down for some food that isn't served anywhere else nearby. That is how you do the mid range sit down restaurant! The food is good, although I don't have a nearby benchmark to compare any of their dishes. I have spent some time in Germany but I couldn't tell you how their food compares head to head. But generally German food is pretty hard to mess up! And they deliver here. The trademark Schnitzels are good and very large portions. It was hard to finish. I enjoy going there and getting things like their cheese spread and appetizers. A great place for a beer and some good food to accompany it. It is in my local restaurant rotation.

The service here was perfect- lovely servers and quick- the place was adorable with a nice temp and open door vibe. That being said, this was the worst sandwich i have eaten in years. (Many, many years) The pretzel bun was hard, dry flavorless and pretty much inedible- had to peel off most of it to even eat the sandwich. Unfortunately losing the bad bread did not improve the sandwich- schnitzel was dry, stringy and hard. The cheese seemed like a plastic tasteless film. I could see that there was a tiny bit of gravy- but if I hadn't seen it, would never have known it was there. Absolute disgustingness. I tried to make it palatable by using my companions' garlic aioli- but the sauce was too sweet and had a chemical aftertaste. I really wanted to like this place but the food is embarrassing. I was trying to be diplomatic with my review but since the owner responded to me very harshly with personal insults- I will add that the reason I did not tell the server that my sandwich was awful is that my 2 lunch mates' meals were as bad or worse than mine- and I did not think complaining to the very pleasant server would turn garbage into sunshine. There was no part of the sandwich that could be remedied. It was garbage. We enjoyed the staff and the place- The schnitzel was rubbery noodles splashed with a tasteless brown sauce looked as if it were thrown across the noodles from the other side of the room- the best thing on 3 plates was a passable potato salad. I'm sorry that I didn't bother your staff- maybe I'll try again and next time I will. Your very hateful personal response to a thoughtful review might be why you're oblivious to the quality coming out of your kitchen. There was no need to be personally cruel and petty.

Love this place. Good Burgers, cold beer and delicious French fries. The entire team is friendly. Have been here for Breakfast , Lunch and Dinner and it never disappoints. Definitely recommend. While you are there , check out the sweatshirts. Had to buy one with the funny saying on the back.

Was in the area visiting a friend. Stumbled into Schnitzel's. Cool spot. Not very big inside but comfortable. Was seated promptly. Service was very good. I got the chicken schnitzel sandwich. Quite good. My friend got the corned beef. She loved it. Kinda wished we got fries with it. Ended up with potato salad which was just ok. If you are in the area give it a try

3 stars and I'm being generous. My 1st question, do long islanders ever leave Long Island? I mean queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan are not in another country. It's anywhere from 15-50 miles for most people. I'll get back to that in a second. This place was jam packed on a Saturday at 4pm. Wow. That is extremely rare for most restaurants. It's too early for such big crowds. I'm thinking this place is gonna be awesome. And for long islanders who never travel more than 10 miles, it is awesome. The wait at this place was 30-40 minutes. Could have been almost at Zum Stammitsch My point is I've been to German restaurants in queens. The one that stands out is Zum Stammitsch. 50+ years in business. And I wish I can can say differently but the comparison isn't even close. Not even in same galaxy. And I know most people reading this review is saying "I live on Long Island I'm not driving into queens to eat". For those people I say, ok. Your missing out , big time. But now I am really understanding , these places are packed only because people won't travel , they want a 5-10 minute drive. What are you people rushing back home for? Feed the cat, watch Netflix, do a load of laundry ? I wanted this place to be great , I would love a 10 minute drive too. Not happening. Time to fuel up the car and head West. Crazy Beans is great, Schnitzel's is not.

Not too shabby. Great beer and the food was alright. Tasty. The staff was friendly; I was a little turned off by their incapacity to substitute mash potatoes for French fries (what?). They did do it but got an "upcharge"? W/E. Not a deal breaker, by any stretch. But it just goes to show that if your looking for options and a degree of fancy; this may not be the place. Conversely, if your goal is a fun time with friends in a bar atmosphere, then this place is the Bomb Diggity! It has a family-owned restaurant feel, which I appreciated. Certainly give them a try; everyone had a great time at the table.

Fresh back from Germany, humble brag, I was curious on the American take on German dishes. Lo and behold there's a German restaurant near my location! I had curryworst, a popular street dish and my date had the sauerbraten, she liked it and gave me a taste, definitely more flavorful than you'd expect. The curryworst was a huge portion. Really good solid flavor. The Staff were very attentive and friendly. Our waitress was definitely timing the appetizer to entree to dessert. I could see how an impatient person could mark off for that. Ambiance was definitely loud and a bit raucous, I don't think a this is a spot for an intimate conversation. I half expected live music in a venue like this. Layout is a bit cramped and with the size of the plates the table quickly became a challenge. The meal came out to $45 per person with tip. So, pricey for the area. Yes, I paid for my date. I'm cheap, not a jerk!

Great trivia night. Fun, challenging questions with a nice cash prize. The food is always great, and the servers are super friendly. It's in a beautiful area in Stony Brook Village, so you can walk around for a bit or shop after you've enjoyed a nice meal. Highly recommend!

First time trying schnitzels, really enjoyed the beers, potato soup and chicken sandwich the spatziel was too salty

we had dinner at Schnitzels tonight and it was absolutely fantastic. My brother and I had the giant pretzel and the crispy pork shank and I couldn't recommend it more. Will totally be back
