Schreibers Goldener Hahn

A traditional and simple setting, with a warm welcome from a caring and professional team. Everyone works with intelligence, humor, and sincerity to deliver high-quality dishes. We traveled an hour for this dinner, and the experience was absolutely worth the trip. A wonderful evening of great food with friends — a memorable highlight from our visit to this region, which truly has something different to offer.

This was my third time at the Restaurant Goldener Hahn. It was and still is absolutely stunning. And I do mean stunning. The service is (especially given that this is Brandenburg still…) immaculate. Mrs. Schreiber and her staff are absolutely cute and witty and friendly and loveable. But the food… OMG the food. It’s serious. Full of ideas and flavors and innovation but at the same time not overwhelming and so tasty and delicious. Mr. Schreiber plays with textures and taste twists without confusing the guests. The menu is very diverse and has options for every “condition”. Each time we visited we didn’t stay in Finsterwalde but somewhere in the area… but the travel time of 1 hr+ was always fully worth it. So the well known criterion “worth a detour” is unquestionably fulfilled IMHO. I fully and enthusiastically recommend the “Goldener Hahn”, no matter how far off the beaten track it may appear.

A secret treasure restaurant in a little remote place but well worth the drive! We had a really delicious 4 course New Year‘s Eve menu and the wine selection also features many interesting German regions, not just the regular Mediterranean ones. Despite the almost booked out evening, the service was pleasant and we liked the calm atmosphere. My only tipp would be that the staff by the tables should know the names and producers of all food ingredients being served. These can be common guest inquiries at other fine dining places.

The rooms in the main house are old 70s style. More like a boarding school. I had room no. 6. The restaurant is the main attraction of this Hotel. The rooms, I am told are for guests who need to stay after a long evening in the restaurant.||||Would not recommend for a stay longer than two nights.||||Breakfast was in the restaurant which was very light and airy with white tablecloths and great buffet.

Kinda expensive but great Christmas Dinner. Thanks to the staff!

Great food indeed.

Gestern waren wir mit unseren Freunden zu Gast im „Goldenen Hahn“ in Finsterwalde. Das Restaurant sehr schön, und gemütlich, der Service zuvorkommend und Aufmerksam. Das Essen einfach spitze. Vom Gruß aus der Küche bis zum Dessert alles exzellent. Qualität hat natürlich ihren Preis, der aber voll gerechtfertigt ist. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder 👍

Wir haben dort nicht übernachtet, sondern "nur" das vorzügliche Essen genossen. Vielen Dank dafür und die zuvorkommende Bedienung.
