Visiting Olympia, I was up early one Sunday. Very please to discover Schwartz’s open on a Sunday at 8:00. I was intrigued by the peanut butter and cheese bagel. This turned out to be peanut butter on a cheese bagel. Very good breakfast snack. For my companion I ordered the Lox Delux. It looked great! Cream cease, lox, red onion and capers, any choice of bagel. If you’re up early and want a great bakery, this is the destination!

Love this local coffee shoppe! They have great food and pastries along with good coffee. My favorite is the peach iced tea for a summer drink. They also support local artist with new art on the walls regularly. Great spot!

Schwartz's is a delightful addition to San Francisco's bakery shops; in downtown Olympia, nestled within three blocks, it offers another choice– there are three diverse options for bakery goods with a coffee shop ambiance. Each spot is unique, catering to different tastes, though I find myself appreciating aspects of all of them. As for Schwartz's in downtown Olympia, it is an inviting venue, albeit one I frequent slightly less often. It exudes the typical downtown Olympia vibe for a coffee shop, offering a smaller bakery selection than you might find at its flagship store or the farmer's market. However, it's a lovely place to have in the area. On my visits, I'm particularly fond of their choice to carry Batdorf & Bronson coffee—a personal favorite of mine, but I enjoy some other local coffee. Olympia is fortunate to have excellent coffee options; the barista often makes all the difference. Occasionally, I also pop in for a sandwich. Overall, Schwartz's is a beautiful spot for grabbing coffee, a bagel, a few pastries, or indulging in a sandwich.

I have been visiting this coffee shop off and on for months. Majority of the workers here, are great. There is one however for some reason has an issue with harassing me off property after making a purchase at the shop. There is no reason myself being on a sidewalk off property would have to be approached and accosted by someone. Her name is Hailey and she is Blond with some hair died. Weird thing is everyone else who works there is pretty cool.

Google
This is a mixed review. The morning staff always seem less than pleased about seeing customers, as a result I've stopped going in. But they have good coffee, bagels and pastries. I had the best apple danish ever there. Below is a turkey and cheese bagel sandwich, the turkey seemed a little dry (due to not being properly wrapped).

Drew is so kind and thoughtful! He helped with gluten-free options, helped me pick out a cookie for my son. My daughter had the pesto Parmesan bagel with garlic chive cream cheese and says it is the best she has ever had. The food is great, the shop is clean. Gorgeous windows, come sit awhile!

Google
Semi-busy Saturday afternoon and we stepped in to a packed Schwartz’s. Very chill atmosphere, not too many tables, all full, and several with the now common single person taking a table with a laptop and papers spread out. Oh, well, we took our sandwiches outside and enjoyed the people watching. Tasty lunch and the pickle! So good, so good. Almost forgot! Peek in the back and check out the almost hidden bookcase full of books! How many delis have one of those?

Google
Great place to have a meeting, date, or just grab a coffee on the go! I highly recommend any of their baked treats! The staff is always super friendly! Lunch sandwiches are the best!

Yelp
We stopped by on our way out of town after a brief overnight in Olympia during a family vacation. I've never heard such prodigious praise about bagels in my life. For literally 30 mins everyone in the car was saying "these are the best bagels I've ever had..." or "the perfect amount of cream cheese." We will probably never be back as this was a short stop in Olympia, but would recommend this place to fellow travelers! "10 out of 5 stars" according to our family rating system :)

Yelp
Great location, lots of space to work or study or chill with some coffee and carbs. Staff were friendly. Ordered an everything bagel with garlic cream cheese, an onion bagel with garlic cream cheese, and a toasted garlic bagel with butter. The prices are really reasonable. I like their cc selection, and the fact that they had an onion AND a chopped garlic bagel. I tried all three. Flavors were very good. Not enough toppings on the bagels, and definitely not enough cream cheese. Bagels had a nice crust, and soft interior, but were more bready than bagel dense, and a little on the dry side. I will be back to try their pastries, because they looked delicious. I just came for a bagel, and was disappointed.

Yelp
Came in with 20 minutes to closing time and was rudely turned away. I said happily "We made it" the guy said rudely "made it for what" oh! I was with 4 people to purchase 4 drinks.

Yelp
I enjoy this place a lot! Easily walkable location and not too overwhelming of an environment. I love the lay out and that I can order my own sammitch. I call mine the hot breath special because it had onion and garlic yum. A little pricey but very filling and fast! Thank u Schwartz for good sammies

Yelp
TLDR : Nice and cozy space for a pleasant bagel / sandwich. We tried Schwarz's on our drive and we're extremely happy to have decided to stop by. We stopped by late afternoon and some of their breads were sold out but even the ones they had were amazing. We tried their bagel sandwiches which werr great and the croissants were nice and buttery! Overall a great experience.

Yelp
What a Joke!! This place is a Girl Scout cookie depot!!! They don't have ANYTHING freshly made here - everything is made off-site BUT they ripped off "Schwartz's" Deli name in NY to await litigation. The food here sucks harder than the service, and hospitality ain't a word that's been heard round here.

Yelp
Came here because I've been dying for a decent bagel since I moved to Washington and haven't found a place Was pleasantly surprised because I ordered an everything bagel and I noticed that it is just as generously seeded on the bottom as it was on the top. I've never seen that level of attention to detail. Also I was served my coffee in a mug, not a paper cup, but a mug. I love when places do that because it tells me that want me to hang out and enjoy myself. Love the high ceilings and the usb ports in the benches. This place tries just a little harder and I can't wait to return.

Yelp
They know their way around a bagel. Delicious, toasted, and plenty of cream cheese. Best bagel I've had in WA. I think they use an outside bakery, but it works for me.
google avatar

Yelp
I come up to the counter to order and she has both of her hands on her coffee cup and looked at me with absolute disgust that I have even approached the counter to order. Such a bad experience!

Yelp
Love this place . Great Chai . great Coffee and an amazing Bagel with perfect garlic chive cream cheese The people are really nice and friendly too . Rock on with ten billion garlic bagel socks on !! Wifi and outside seating as well .
google avatar

Yelp
Great location, outdoor and indoor seating. Great bagels and spreads. Their coffee is smooth and rich and their espresso drinks are classic. This is a great grab and go spot but equally good to take in some people watching or studying.

Alexis D.

Yelp
Happened to pass by on our morning coffee walks and am so glad we stopped by. Got a bagel with lox as well as a cinnamon raisin and both were fantastic and hit the spot. Would recommend for sure!!

Yelp
Nice coffee and pastry shop in downtown Olympia. And sandwiches too! Their specialty are bagles. Unfortunately not NYC bagels as I used to enjoy when I lived in the city , These are very tasty, fresh soft bagels that seem to be the West Coast interpretation of a true NYC bagel, No high gluten chewy bread that "fights" with you when you take a bite Does that mean I won't be back? Nope. Nice place. Nice people. Good location in downtown Oly.

Yelp
Centrally located in downtown Olympia this quality beagle place is lovely. Great assortment of pastries from chocolate croissants to cheesecake. Staff is friendly and patient when answering my questions and taking my order. I love the variety of cream cheese as well. My favorite is the chive because it's not overly powering the bagel. The hot chocolate was not Swiss miss thank god. It was warm enough to drink and not burn my mouth and just enough sweetness. I like the simple look with a lot of wood in the decor. The sandwiches are very good and well prepared. Prices are fair and worth it for the quality of food. A plus for Schwartz's!

Yelp
I'm from NY so I know my bagels... These are the best I've had since being outside the state for 20+ years. Best time to buy bagels is AFTER I've gotten my dozen on Saturday mornings. They typically bake a set amount that they split between San Francisco Bakery and Schwartz's so they're often out before noon. Get ''em while they're hot!

Yelp
Nice little corner bakery coffee shop with a laid-back atmosphere and really really nice staff. I grabbed the bag of day-old bagels there was like seven for three dollars which was really good deal and they still taste fresh and got a large cup of drip coffee which is really good to. Have to give props to the staff that were here today because I shared my grief of my father passing away two days ago and they were very compassionate, listened to and it was healing for me to share and have somebody listen and respond the way they did so I send a big thank you to them!

Yelp
Stopped by around 2 pm for a late lunch. Ordered a ham, salami, cheese, with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo on a sour dough bread. It was delicious and my return is on the radar. Great fresh bread! Only bad is I live in Tacoma and Schwartz is in Olympia.

Sonia F.

Yelp
Bagels! Fresh bagels! The little building is kind of nondescript, and (depending on the time of day) parking can be a challenge. But Schwartz's bagels are overall very nice. I took away a star because across the many kinds of bagels they sell the quality is a little uneven. The texture of some varieties seems more like a loaf of bread. To me, the "plain" are their best: a nice crunchy outside and wonderful doughy/chewy/dense inside. Aaaah!

Yelp
Ally and Hannah are incredible.... So much great energy, it makes me wanna come back for more! Such silly girls! #stopthecreamcheeseshortage

Yelp
Bagels and coffee were excellent. Very good service. Building is a bit run down, but still had a great atmosphere

Yelp
Nice little place to grab a bagel or a coffee in Olympia. An improvement over the old occupants of the unit. Pretty chill atmosphere and a nice quiet place to read, work or study.

Yelp
Good food, good vibes, and friendly staff. Nice blend of casual and hip. We will definitely eat here again.
google avatar

BK J.

Yelp
Bagels made by someone who never had a good bagel. A bready interior is not what I want in a bagel. Chew, crust, that I want. Won't get it here. Managed to get a close parking spot and ran in for a bagel. Had it toasted but it lacked. I was very hopeful but in the end was disappointed. They sell round bread, not bagels. Bagels need gluten development, and there was none to be found at Schwartz's.

Yelp
The cool old location for a coffee store was and unique building in the downtown district. They were very attentive and the coffee was good. The price was right. And I was discounts for bringing your own cups was honored. There was unique artwork and a good atmosphere.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Wanted this place to be good, but no such luck. Only 1 person working so service was slow. The bagels were cold and served with a small portion of cream cheese. He forgot to add tomato to one order and since we took it to go, we didn't find out until it was too late. It was also kind of dirty inside. Lots of crumbs on the seats.

Consuelo L.

Yelp
I think this is the only place in Olympia where you can get a proper bagel and lox. It was all I was after this morning, but I see they also have pastries, breads, and cookies. Anyhow, the "lox delux" was what I had and it was delicious, and reasonably priced. But I think I paid through the nose for some orange juice (I didn't keep my receipt), so I'll avoid that in the future. I kind of want to knock a half star off for the lack of cleanliness. Somehow I managed to sit at the only table that was dirty, but the place was empty so there's no reason why it was dirty to begin with. It's not stopping me from coming back though.

Yelp
Really fresh, airy bagels, full of flavor. I tried the pesto Parmesan with plain cream cheese on one side, and garlic on the other. Well worth the try. The latte was also great. Thanks!

Greg H.

Yelp
I've visited twice and both times have had the stunning Lox Deluxe, a lunch that restores my faith in mankind, potential world peace, and even Fourth Avenue. First visit: perfect; second visit (today): I was studiously ignored by the two behind the counter for some time. Sure, they were both occupied with other orders, but both looked at me without so much as a "Hi! I'll be you in a moment!" But when I entered and received my order, I dived into ecstasy. (Four stars only because of today's aggravation, but food is a 5.)
google avatar

Edward H.

Yelp
Handed me overflowing hot coffee burning my hand and when the bagels finally came they were rock hard and without flavor. Bagels and coffee are not hard to get right but it is apparently beyond this place.
google avatar

Kaden L.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. They seemed disinterested and more invested Into a conversation the two workers were having in the corner. Probably won't be back.

Steve C.

Yelp
Overly fluffy under-salted not boiled AKA fake bagels. I expected better.
google avatar

Don B.

Yelp
I ordered an everything bagel not toasted got a toasted plain bagel with a few poppy seeds. I was told sometimes everything falls off. I will give them another chance in the future

Yelp
Schwartz's is my favorite local bakery in all of Olympia. i've literally never had a single bad thing. Ask Jeremy for the secret menu for a real treat. Service, Food, jokes, they got it all.

Alice J.

Yelp
S A friend brought me a doz bagels knowing I love them. They are delish and made correctly by the way they taste. I had given up on finding real bagels in Olympia but am happy now and will buy them regularly.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Meh. The bagels were hard and unfortunately not as flavorful as I had hoped. The folks there were friendly and it was a cute relaxing spot but the food was nothing to write home about.

Kirstin G.

Yelp
This is a San Francisco Street Bakery supplied place. Usually, their stuff is pretty good. But, when my husband and I stopped in a while ago, he was underwhelmed by the chai and the quiche was not edible at all. Terrible, dried out little hockey puck.

Tom B.

Yelp
A great addition to downtown Oly. Part of the locally owned San Francisco Street Bakery family, you can expect the excellent quality of their delicious baked goods along with their friendly service. Best almond croissants this side of Paris. I love this place!

Joshua B.

Yelp
I am so happy to have a San Francisco Street Bakery satellite back in downtown olympia. It's a wonderful spot with all the great pastries from San Francisco Street Bakery. And it brings back fond memories of Otto's, where I would go grab a cup of coffee and a toasted plain bagel with cream cheese and tomatoes. Glad I can do that again!

V P.

Yelp
Thank dog this space is in use again! Bagels and cream cheese are fabulous, please also try the JAM. Coffee refills, thank you, this is exactly what downtown needs: a place that doesn't serve high priced pour overs only. Looking forward to outside seating (hopefully ;^)
