"The Schwarz family has been running its two restaurants in this pretty red-sandstone building since 2017. One is the chic Schwarz Gourmet, where the chef – who is no stranger to the fine dining scene – proposes a set menu (four to six courses) in which he likes to combine international ingredients with others from the local region. One standout dish brings together a slice of delightfully soft braised Duroc pork belly infused with deep roasted notes, a super-fresh and perfectly seared Breton scallop, and a crisp, fresh salad of diced radish and apple. A rich reduced teriyaki sauce with bold seasoning ties it all together. Exceptional ingredients take centre stage on every plate. The kitchen embraces classic techniques, subtly reinterpreting time-honoured combinations to create harmonious flavour profiles. Incidentally, Manfred Schwarz has hosted numerous celebrities – as evidenced by photos on display in the elegantly appointed dining space. His wife, Angelika, provides warm and attentive service.
