"The traditional colonial goods store is located in the sweet corner of the picturesque Niederdorf. It first opened its doors in the year 1864 and has been run by the family Schwarzenbach up to this day. The delicious aroma of coffee, oriental spices and dried fruits seduce the visitor into the world of senses. Schwarzenbach has a huge variety of finest tea, exquisite coffee, chocolate, home-grown dried fruits, pasta, rare herbs, honey, exotic spices, pastry and much more. Take a chance and try the traditional Swiss Straumann Hüppen, crispy wafer rolls with a delicious Gianduja filling." - Plasmadesign Studio
"The Schwarzenbach storefront is split into three parts, with each section focusing on different types of dry goods, chocolate, and coffee, which staff roast in a window open to the street. One of the storefronts, with two small benches affixed to the window, sells hot chocolate; Schwarzenbach’s offering is a bit milkier than some competitors, with a solid layer of froth on top, and the outdoor seating makes a great spot for people-watching before popping back into the store to pick up a chocolate bar or some tea." - N.A. "Dark-Chocolate Covered Criollo Beans from an Alstadt Institution This Altstadt institution known for its specialty coffee beans, teas and spices also sells a small, but excellent selection of specialty Swiss chocolate bars, including Akesson’s and Idillio Origins, and delicious chocolate oddities like dark-chocolate covered Criollo beans and ginger sticks."

Really interesting shop in the centre of Zurich old town with a wide array of chocolate, teas, dried fruits and nuts, as well as preserves. The chocolate shop also sells hot chocolate and coffee and seemed to be doing a good trade when we visited. The staff were very helpful and had lots of knowledge on all their products. The other part of the shop with the dried fruits and nuts etc was a hit on the senses!

Great coffee in a cool little chocolate shop. Can see the coffee beams being roasted next door in an open window. Not much of an area to drink there, but can take to go to cool spots near by. Coffee was very good and the service was very friendly.

Many specialty grocery stores exist, but this is your best option if you're into tea, coffee, dried fruits, or chocolates! The store is roughly divided in half. Facing the building, the right half is dedicated mostly to tea and dried goods with a few other items thrown in. The left half sells specialty chocolate bars and coffee. If you're from the states you'll find those chocolate bars and other items surprisingly cheap. It's worth browsing just to see and smell the selection of this classic shopping choice. Staff is helpful and does speak English.

We came across the tee cafe on our walking tour of Zurich old city.
After the tour we went back and enjoyed some famous hot chocolate. It is an institution to visit for chocolate lovers !!

Stumbled upon this place during a walk through the old town, and so glad I did. Just glorious; an old-style store with beautiful displays and a wonderful selection of spices, teas, and other specialty items. Beautifully appointed store, too, with some old style furnishings and decorations. I wanted to stand and take 100 photos but tried not to get in the way :)

The store has great selection of chocolates but they still name themselves 'kolonialwaren'. So insensitive and ignorant, considering the dark history of cocoa cultivation.

Love love this place. Delicious teas and hit chocolates, and I'm reliably informed the matches latte is very good too. Lovely staff and excellent cakes. The only drawback is how busy and popular it is, and how few seats there are. But very much worth a visit if you can secure a coveted seat!

The location is very good and very charming place. They have very fresh coffee beans. Especially Swiss Muesli is very recommandable. The places r very tiny but if you go a bit earlier for lunch, don’t worry. There is a place for you.( Year 2020)

they open for elegant hot chocolate.
Super good quality.
I tried bio dark hot chocolate(around chf 10) for a drink.
It was very light and high quality organic chocolate.
Very kind staffs. Very helpful to ask.
Good place to drop by and buy chocolate
